Yet Another Working Day (Niobe and Viktor)

Totally unimpressed with having to work yet another shift in this pub, and still not being able to keep her tips, Niobe threw her dishcloth on the table she had just been cleaning, instead choosing to glare at it as if that would clean it on its own.

Niobe sighed softly and sat down at the table, head in hands.

"Hey there doll, you need to get behind the bar while I take my break okay?"

"Okay then Hansel, I'll get right on that."

Groaning slightly Niobe got up and swooped her hair back in a bobble, poking the pony tail through the cap that she was wearing on her head, it was a nice hat, just plain red with a White front, it went with her denim shorts and strap tshirt, her long fingerless gloves reaching her elbow.

Niobe waited behind the bar for anyone who might want a drink.

Viktor wouldn't admit it out loud, to anyone, but ever since he'd met the greek/german woman a few days ago he hadn't been able to get her out of his head. She was beautiful, she was intelligent and she seemed so innocent... her entire self cried out for him to possess her. For him to take her as his own. Of course he'd managed to squash that instinct the other day because she had been openly greiving but now she would be a little bit better he couldn't hold his instincts back. He stalked up to the bar before grinning ferally at her, toning down the feral element to keep it at a level that was acceptable in public,

"Why hello there Niobe." he purred happily, "Fancy meeting you here... you work here?"

Niobe looked up and she blushed slightly, there standing in front of her was Viktor, she was so sure that she was never going to see him again so a large smile breaks on her face and her working day just got a whole lot better.

Even though their meeting was tainted by her brothers death, and being where it was, she hadn't forgotten his kindness or his soft...skin.

"Viktor!" she cried happily

Bowing slightly Niobe gestured at her small badge with her name on, which had gotten a lot of stick when she had first gotten here, and for a moment she was glad Hansel was on his break, after all she knew he liked her...but she didn't return his feelings.

"Yes I work here, it's the nicer of the places I work, what will it be? You can have my free drink allowance, I never use it!"

Viktor grinned even wider. It seemed, from her wide smile, that she had been looking forward to seeing him again as well. When she bowed slightly to show him her name card however, he couldn't help but notice her breasts again. The name tag was pinned to her chest after all. He raised an eyebrow,

"Are you sure that's alright?" he asked with a grin, "Because if it is then that's great!"

He chuckled and sat down on a stool by the bar,

"Either way... I'll have a shot of firewhiskey and a butterbeer please."

When Viktor grinned Niobe couldn't help but blush at him, he looked even more handsome when he grinned like that. With a small smile she nodded her head, she wanted Viktor to be as happy as possible, as she had seen a glimpse of a man who was very sad...and lonely.

She didn't want him to be like that any more.

"But of course you may have my tokens! Anything for a friend! A butterbeer and a firewhiskey coming right up!"

Cheerfully Niobe moved around the bar artfully and she quickly got one glass of butterbeer and one shot of firewhiskey, placing two of her tokens into the cashier.

"There you go Viktor, I hope you like them, what brings you here today?"

The blush she was giving off was making him feel even better than before. He grinned because of this, knowing that his grin was probably making her blush. He grinned happily,

"Ah so we're friends are we?" he teased her with a wink, "Perhaps we shall grow to be more in time ja?"

He grinned and drank the firewhiskey in one gulp. Before steam could come out of his ears or his cheeks reddening, he took a drink from his butterbeer with a grin,

"Ah that's what I needed..." he winked at her, "Why you of course! You are just that alluring."

Niobe blinked for a few moments, looking at Viktor as if she could hardly register what he had just said to her, did he say that he wanted to be more than friends, blushing softly she loomed down and wiped a cloth along the bar counter.

"Uhm, you mean like best friends? Or do you mean..." pausing here, Niobe only blushed and left Viktor to fill in what she meant in his head.

Giggling slightly as Viktor knocked his drink back Niobe held her finger up and went to serve another man, he seemed to be interested in her too and she blushed more, casting a shy look at her feet after she had poured him the drink. With a smile she returned to Viktor, perching on a barstool behind the bar.

"M-m-me? But how did you know I worked here? And if you did know, why did you ask?"

Tilting her head to her side Niobe missed the point of the flirtatious comment, purely because she didn't really register it, shed not really been flirted with before.

"How are you?" she asked with a happy smile.

Seeing her stunned silly for a moment, before blushing, made Viktor grin even wider. He'd wanted to put her on the spot just to see how she'd react to the idea and she didn't disappoint him really. When she leant over to scrub at the counter he couldn't help but look her over again with a grin,

"Well best friends to start with to be sure!" he grinned a little bit more before winking at her, "When we're comfortable with each other? Who knows..."

Of course, Viktor saw the other man leering at Niobe. Without Niobe noticing, he drew his wand under the counter and silently cast a spell on the man. The man stiffened in pain for a second before adopting a rather serene look. The man walked out of the bar. Viktor knew, that by the time he reached the end of the street he would be on the floor screaming,

"I asked around is all." he replied casually as he put his wand away just as smoothly, "I didn't know if you really were working here full time or if it was just one night."

Seeing that she was perhaps too innocent for some more subtle flirting he just grinned happily and shrugged,

"I'm alright." he grinned, "I haven't been sleeping very well since we met though... seems I'm haunted by the vision of the most beautiful woman in the world. Named after the sadest woman in the world."

Niobe caught on to what Viktor was inferring and her blush grew even worse, so he did think of her like that, and it seemed he was quite forward in his wants, although she had kissed someone before that was a long time ago and she didn't really remember it.

"Uhm, I really don't know about that Viktor, we...we don't really know each other all that well just yet."

Looking back at the man who had just ordered his drink Niobe was a little surprised to see that he had just gotten up and walked out, maybe he had something more important to do that he had forgotten about?

"Huh, that was very odd, I'll save his drink for him just in case," turning to the other side of the bar Niobe put the drink behind it and smiled "Oh I do hope that Hansel comes back soon I'm supposed to be clocking off soon."

With that Niobe felt a pang of jealousy, she bit her lip and wondered who this woman might be, was it someone at the school? Or was it someone he had met elsewhere.

"Oh, she must be very lucky, hopefully her life isn't as sad as her name!" she said good-naturedly.

He saw that she had gotten even redder at his statement but couldn't help but grin. It was as if she was teasing him with her innocence. God knows the one thing that Viktor found very attractive in a woman, sexually, was some innocence,

"Well then we'd best get to talking about ourselves then hadn't we?" he teased her with a wink, "Perhaps a game of questions? I'll start. Awfully rude to ask a woman but how old are you?"

Viktor pretended that he was just as surprised when he really just wasn't. After all, the "Living Nightmare" curse was one of his brother's favourite spells. Until just now Viktor had been toying with the idea of making himself forget it but it was useful,

"Huh... guess something slipped his mind." he agreed without really meaning it before raising an eyebrow, "Hansel you say? A friend of yours?"

Seeing that Niobe wasn't getting what he was trying to say, Viktor reached out over the counter and held her hands in his. He looked into her eyes as she spoke,

"The most beautiful woman I have ever seen was named after a greek myth. A woman who cried forever at the loss of her children." he grinned suddenly, "The most beautiful woman I have ever seen wore bright knee socks and a matching beanie!"

Niobe however embarrassed liked Viktors idea of playing a game of questions, after all it could only go well for making them know each other better although it was something that she wasn't sure what way it would go, good or bad.

"Sure, I would love to play a game of questions with you Viktor! I am 19 years old, so I'm a little bit younger than you. It's my turn huh? What is your favourite food?"

Wondering why she had even mentioned Hansel Niobe was disracted by the very man himself coming back in from outside, a cigarette still in his mouth, she smiled softly at him as he made his way over to the bar.

Please let nothing go wrong, let him just take over without talking to Viktor.

"Hey babe, you get any guys giving you hassle?"
"No, no everything was great, can I head off now?"
"You sure can, who's this guy?" he asked with a glare at Viktor, he didn't like the way he was clasping at Niobe's hands like he was trying to take her from him.

Niobe in the meanwhile was too preoccupied with thinking about what Viktor had said, she was the most beautiful woman in the world, playing with her ponytail she giggled.

"Thank you Viktor, I mean, you do mean me right? If not im mortified..."

Of course the game of questions was something that Viktor liked very much. It was just in his nature to be curious. As to whether or not the questions were interesting or not was neither here nor there. Just the fact that she would open up to him was a good thing,

"Mmm 19 you say?" he winked at her, "Lovely age. Food... probably have to be osterich meat actually. It's very tasty and very good for you. What was your favourite subject at school?"

Viktor didn't like Hansel.

Just the way that he called her 'babe' set his teeth on edge. However, he could see the man's dark look when he saw that Viktor was holding her hands in his own. His possessive side grinned wider inside while he just smiled at Niobe, seemingly ignoring the other man. Why was he doing this? Because if he attacked her was the bad guy. Niobe wouldn't like that. But if the man attacked him and he defended himself... why he could break the man's bones and she'd be more inclined to side with him. He smiled happily and stroked the back of Niobe's hand with his thumb,

"I most certainly do." he told her with a happy grin, "You're the most beautiful woman I have ever seen... you are the most beautiful woman I will ever see because you are the most beautiful woman in the world. Trust me on that."

Niobe decided that taking a sip of her water would make her blush die down a little, now that he was here it seemed she had lost all composure and Hansel who was now washing dishes furiously seemed to be getting more and more aggravated by the second.

Not having much time to think about that Niobe thought about the answer to her question.

"My favourite lesson, it has to be potions, and if were counting extra curricular lessons, I was in the drama group."

Thinking of her latest play she was rehearsing for, she was filled with a loving warmth and she bit her lip. Just the feeling of Viktor stroking her skin with his thumb set her on edge, she really wanted to embrace him over the bar.

Maybe even...kiss him.

" Oh my Viktor. How can you ever say such a thing? You know perfectly well that it's not true, there are far prettier ladies out there."

Niobe poured herself some butterbeer and walked around the bar, showing that she was wearing her mini shorts to Viktor and she swayed her hips closer to him as she walked, taking the seat next to him.

"My question huh? Do you have any hobbies?"

Viktor could see two things. He could see that she was beginning to blush a little less and that meant that she was coming around to this idea of them being together like this. As for Hansel, the fact that he was in a grump was fast putting him in a good mood,

"Ah potions.... never got the hang of that class to be fair." he grinned happily at the mention of the drama club, "Alas! Poor yorik, I knew him well! I remember the drama club... went for a year actually."

Viktor stroked her hand more, before threading his fingers through with her's so that their fingers were locked around each other. He grinned,

"I don't think so." he told her quietly, "I think you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life. No jewel nor ocean shides with beauty as much as you."

He couldn't help but watch her sway her hips invitingly for him as she sat down beside him. He grinned and tapped the empty firewhiskey glass on the top to get Hansel's attention,

"Another shot of firewhiskey sir." he added the sir bit with a touch or sarcasm, "Hobbies huh? Well I don't have a lot of time for hobbies but I do enjoy writing poems actually. What is your favourite muggle film?"

Niobe would never have thought of Viktor as a drama loving man, so as he announced that he himself had gone to the club for a year she got very excited, maybe he would like to come and see her play, it was only a little theatre in the outskirts of town...

Then she shook her head, like Viktor would ever be seen dead in somewhere like that.

"You did? Did you do the yearly production that they put on? Mine was something like the Merchant of Venice, it's always Shakespeare with them!" she grinned

Unable to stop herself from flushing with a slight mixture of embarrassment and pleasure Niobe ducked her head away from Viktor when he complimented her, she wasn't used to such things directed her way.

"Why Viktor, you make it sound like you love me." she giggled

Suddenly a sound of a glass breaking shocked her, her fingers sprung away from Viktor and Niobe saw Hansel looking at Viktor as if he wanted nothing more than to smash his face in, he grumbles and picks up the smashed glass moving into the kitchen area.

"Oh my, maybe I should go and see if he's alright..."

Before she could move Viktor asked her about her favourite muggle film; "Oh, I like the film Beauty and the Beast, it's a very childish film but I love that concept! Two opposites attracting. What's the most embarrassing moment of your life, so far?"

Viktor had never really admitted it to anyone but he was a great lover of the arts. Music and acting were some of his greatess pursuits. Right after killing as many enemies of the german people as he could, obviously. He smiled a little bit,

"Phantom of the Opera." he replied quietly, "I didn't continue it because my singing voice is not as good as it could be. So... any productions you're in recently?"

He saw that she was blushing, not from embaressment or anything but just from the fact that she'd never enjoyed such blatant flirting he'd guess. Viktor stroked her cheek lightly,

"Do I now?" he asked with with a small smirk before winking, "Well maybe I'm getting there Niobe. You are the kind of woman a man could fall head over heels for... I think I'm getting to the falling part."

Viktor couldn't help but grin a little bit when Hansel obviously moved away because he was angry at him for getting more of Niobe's attention. He still held onto her hand when she moved to help Hansel,

"I'm sure he's fine." he smiled, "Otherwise he probably would have shouted out."

He smiled happily when she told him her favourite muggle movie. Strangely, he too had watched it as a child and both he and Konig had agreed that if they ever were in a relationship they were likely to be the Beast,

"Interesting... I liked that film very much as a child." he chuckled a little bit and scratched the back of his head, "I kind of... set fire to my eyebrows one time and didn't notice for four days...."

He shook his head before grinning,

"Favourite book?"

Niobe blinked a little as Viktor said that his production at school had been Phantom of the Opera, it was a really big coincidence that that was the production the she was doing herself out of her work time, in fact she had a rehearsal later on this week for it as it was released soon.

Secretly she wondered what part Viktor would have played, the Phantom? Or Raoul?

"Uhm, I'm actually playing Christine in The Phantom of the Opera at a theatre in the hidden village. So that's a bit funny! I...I wouldn't suppose you'd want to come and see it?"

Shuddering slightly as Viktor stroked her cheek Niobe bit her lip, leaning her head into his touch gently, wanting to make sure that he knew that she did like him, she was just new to all of this flirting.

"Oh my Viktor, what a thing to say, I...I don't think that many people would agree with you there but thank you anyway."

Niobe tugged her gloves up, not wanting them to fall down and expose what was underneath them, it wouldn't do to flash them around, she really needed glamour charms. Deciding that she would stay with Viktor, Niobe nodded.

Giggling a little at the story that Viktor told her about setting his eyebrows on fire Niobe thought about the answer to his question: "I think my favourite book would have to be Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? It's a great book! What is your star sign?"

Viktor hadn't really liked being a part of the production of Phantom of the Opera but he had been a fan of the plot as a whole so he grinned when she told him that she was in a production of the same story,

"Ah what a lovely production it shall be with you in it my dear!" he declared happily before grinning widely, "I'd love to see it!"

The cute way she bit at her lip and nuzzled her head lightly into his hand made Viktor smile a little more. It just went to show that she liked him too, that she was just a tad new to the concept of flirting,

"It is the truth my dear." he told her quietly, "You don't have to agree with the truth... it remains just as true if you don't."

Viktor noticed how Niobe had to tug her gloves up impulsively, as if there was something she didn't want to be seen. He stuck his tongue out at her playfully when she giggled at his most embaressing moment,

"Huh... now that is a book I've never heard of... is it good then?" he asked before smiling, "Ah now that's something I don't know... Libra I believe. What is your favourite song?"

Niobe was over the moon when Viktor said that he would like to come and see her in the play, that would mean at least one person that she knew was going to be there supporting her in the audience while she sang.

"Thank you so much! I do try very hard! Oh and...what part did you play in the production that you made, I can see you as an excellent Phantom."

With that Niobe sipped at her butterbeer hoping to cool down her blush a little bit as she was looked at once more by Viktor, hearing Hansel coming back to the bar she cast him a happy smile and then continued to giggle at Viktor, pulling her tongue out too.

"So would you agree with me when I said you have a very handsome body, I mean face, I mean hair...I mean..." groaning a little Niobe slapped her hand to her forehead.

Trying to avoid being embarrassed Niobe nodded her head vigerously, she did love the book even though she had found it hard at first it was well worth it.

"Yes it's a great book, I recommend it to you! A Libra huh? Who would have guessed that! You don't seem like one, oh and Uhm I like 'Weight of the World' by a muggle band called The Young Guns. What is your favourite animal?"

Viktor was watching Niobe very closely, for less than honourable reasons as well as honourable ones, and he could see that she was clearly very excited about it all. He too was excited to hear her sing, he bet she sounded beautiful,

"It'll my pleasure to watch you sing after all Niobe." he told her with a grin before chuckling a little bit and nodding, "I played the phantom."

Viktor drank so more of his own drink, getting bit more of a buzz. Of course he could see Hansel glaring at him out of the corner of his eye, which only caused him to smile more. Niobe was his and Hansel wasn't getting to have her ever. He chuckled a little bit and stroked her cheek again lightly,

"Wow... that's quite the compliment." he told her with a wink, "You've been looking at me like that have you?"

He chuckled a little bit,

"I'll make sure to read it if I find it. Yeah I think I am... rather unsure of these signs." he raised an eyebrow at her song choice, "Good song if I'm thinking of the same song. Hawk. No question. What is your favourite holiday?"

Niobe's smile only grew when Viktor told her that she was right in her assumptions, she could see him brooding around the stage, his hands holding her just like David's would be doing at rehearsal, singing such things to her...maybe with his shirt undone.

Making a small noise of contentment Niobe blushed softly once she had realised what she had done.

"I think you'd make a lovely Phantom, maybe you can help me rehearse my lines sometime, after all, if I could pick someone for Christine to be with, it would be the Phantom."

Purring softly Niobe gently moved her head, so that her lips rested against the skin of Viktors thumb, gently pushing them to his digit and looking up into his eyes with her own shimmering ones.

"I'm not very good at giving compliments but, it's hard not to mention it when it's in front of you all the time."

Niobe smiled softly at his answer, somehow she knew it would be something like that, a Hawk was a beautiful animal, but she was always more of a cat person, they were so cuddly and lovely to hold.

"My favourite holiday...Greece. I love my homeland. I wish I could return. What is your deepest desire at the moment, what do you want most?"

Yes that's right, Viktor had brooded around the stage with a mask covering half of his face. It had fit surprisingly well. Of course the girls in his class had conspired with the female professor. Being in his seventh year at the time, Viktor had developed his body for a military life. They had insisted that it was integral to his character that he be shirtless for most of the production. He noticed her soft little noise and smiled,

"Ah I'd be delighted to help you with your lines sometime!" he replied before chuckling, "If it's anything like the school production I'll have to be shirtless though."

Viktor raised an eyebrow when she purred at his touch but grinned even more when she pressed her lips to his thumb and looked into his eyes with her beautiful eyes,

"Oh you're getting good at giving compliments!" he complimented her with a wink, "It is easy to notice things in front of you. Like I can't help but notice your supreme beauty..."

He smiled happily,

"Greece... a lovely place." he agreed with her, "My deepest desire?"

He purred and looked her up and down slowly before locking eyes with her,

"Can it be a person?"

Niobe almost keeled over when he said that he had been shirtless in his production, why oh why did she not go and see this herself? She would have at least been in first year when he was doing it so why did she fail to go and see it?!

A little frustrated with herself Niobe blushed as she developed a thought...

"I don't think that will be a problem, I'm sure that it's a very...Uhm...a very nice body that you have, it looks like it...I mean not like I've been looking! Of course not!"

Niobe smacked her hand to her forehead again leaving a small red Mark, pouting with the fact that it had hurt more than intended. Unable to stop her blush Niobe blushed softly and she ducked her head, tipping her trilby down to cover her eyes.

"A very strong statement Viktor, you must be confident in your observation."

Biting her lip Niobe smiled, her home country was beautiful and warm, the food was delicious, and she loved the people there, the look that Viktor gave her made her lips tremble against his skin but she drew away.

"If...if that's the answer you want to give, then yes it can be a person."

Viktor watched, with a raised eyebrow, when Niobe caught herself from falling, seemingly from no reason. He chuckled a little bit, she might be lamenting that she hadn't seen him shirtless. Raising the other eyebrow, Viktor chuckled,

"So you think I have a nice body do you?" he purred, looking her up and down with a lick of his lips, "The feeling is mutual I assure you."

He chuckled, only lightly, when her facepalm seemed to have hurt her more than she had intended, giving it a gentle rub of his own. He tilted her head up gently by her chin,

"I am very confident in my statment."

She was becoming a bit more shy, it seemed to him, so he merely smiled and cupped her cheek. When she said that it could be a person he grinned and then winked at her,

"My deepest desire, right now, is to get to know you better." he took her hand and kissed the back of it, "To let our feelings for each other grow."

Niobe couldn't help it. She giggled happily and waved her hand in the air to dismiss the comment, after all it was something that she didn't really have much experiance in, she didn't really think she had a nice body...but who was she to judge?

Just about to open her mouth to speak there was a sound from behind her and just as Viktor planted a kiss on her hand Niobe was jerked roughly aside, whacking her hip against a metal rung under the bar top.

Wincing she rubbed the small scratch and looked up to see Hansel standing there.

"I won't have you being so perverse to Niobe." he growled
"Please Hansel it's okay! I really don't mind he's not doing anything wrong!"

Hansel seemingly ignored Niobe's pleas and drew his wand muttering a string of curses, including to Niobe's horror some of the unforgivables before abandoning his wand and aiming a left hook at Viktors nose.

Gasping Niobe clung to his arm, and frantically tried to stop him but Hansel knocked her back again and she whacked her arm this time.

"Ow Hansel stop it!!" she cried
"You think you can just waltz in here and take her from under my nose? Huh?! I love her! What's more is I know you can tell you cur!" he bellowed.
