Past Mistakes

Past Mistakes
Humphrey Williams walked onto the Hogwarts Express after the worst week of his life. He knew he had screwed up, and bad. He had considered using his time-turner to go back and change things. But, it wasn't what he was loaned it to use for. It had been given to him for his classes, and he wouldn't abuse the privilege he'd been given. He had to turn it in before he left, but he would be able to get it next year because he was planning on another heavy course load.
When he stepped on, he knew that he wanted to be alone. His friends, well, most of them were mad at him. He did not blame them; all of his friends had good reason to be mad at him. But, he knew that he was the one who was most angry at him for the moment. Despise is a strong word, but he despised himself for what he had done. The one girl he had cared about more than anything, he had hurt her. She had slapped him, and now looking back, he saw how much he deserved it. So, he found an empty compartment at the back of the train, and he thought about what he had done wrong.
After a while, he decided to take out his drawing notebook. Every drawing or pastel of Charlotte he took out and threw out the train once it started moving. It reminded him of what he had done, and if he held onto them he would be reminded of her pain. However, Humphrey held onto one drawing, the very first portrait of her he had drawn. It would be a painful reminder to him not to make the same mistakes. Then he took out his notebook that contained his Wizard's Crash Course novel, and set to work writing. His imagination ran wild, but all that he wrote was tinted with sadness because in reality, he was very sad. Depressed may be a better word. He suspected that his Muggle friend Arnold and him would not be able to relate as well any longer. And he missed his friends, the ones he had hurt the most, were the ones he missed the most.
He decided he would go talk to Tess and Victoria, he had seen them in a compartment and they hadn't gotten too angry when he was not being the best friend to people. Yes, it was a good idea...
