Second Years- First Lesson Empty Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Sofia Slytherin Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:03 am

Sofia had learned a lot about her students last about their Zodiacs and she had them do a little research for an assignment. This year she was going to be breaking down the different constellation in the different quadrants of the sky.

Sofia patiently waited in her chair laying back looking up at the sky, she would never forget how much she loved that feeling.

She was wondering how the new Astronomy teacher was doing over at Durmstrang..What was his name. Oh yes Jonathan Browning, she had met him at a conference she ended up attending at the last moment last weekend and he had said that was where he was starting. He was a very nice young man, too bad he wasn't a little older.

Staring at the stars she laid back and closed he eyes and waited for the class to arrive.

Second Years- First Lesson Empty Re: Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Guest Wed Feb 15, 2012 9:02 pm

Tabi was the first to arrive to the tower, and she loved it. It gave her the chance to choose the seat she wanted. She loved the leather lay back chairs that Professor Slytherin provided.

She was wondering if this was one of the classes that Ivano had taken. She had known of a couple of them, but she assumed this was not one of them. She just laid back in the chair and closed her eyes basically meditating waiting for the rest of the class to arrive

Next thing Tabi knew she feel asleep while waiting.

Second Years- First Lesson Empty Re: Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Keiba Namid Wed Feb 15, 2012 9:09 pm

Keiba stumbled up to the Astronomy classroom. She had fallen asleep before and was afraid she was going to be late. But when she opened the door, she was surprised to see Tabi asleep in her chair, and no one else there. Taking off her back, she settled into a seat quietly, somewhere nearish Tabi, and stared up at the sky, absent-mindedly picking out constellations she'd learnt last year.

She was excited about the subject matter this year. Keiba had heard that it was slightly more interesting than first year topics, and she was glad to be able to be stimulated again. Astronomy was one of her favourite subjects. Although, she wasn't particularly looking forward to the amount of homework she'd be getting. Keiba hated homework.

Leshia made her way up the long flight to the top of the tower. When she arrived she noticed that Tabi was already there and from the look of things she was asleep. Typical of her to do that. Then she saw Keiba was there also.

Leshia took one of the chairs that was by Keiba.

"Hay Keiba don't remember you in this class last term. How are you doing?"

Having done well at the end of last year, Victoria was looking forward to this new year in Astronomy. As she entered the tower she felt the familiar calm that settled over her during the class. She was an outdoors girl through and through, and being able to have a class outside at night was a dream.

It also helped that she was a night owl. As she took her seat near the edge of the tower, she grabbed out her book and quietly murmured "Lumos" to be able to read.

Second Years- First Lesson Empty Re: Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Sofia Slytherin Fri Feb 17, 2012 12:53 am

Looking over her classroom she was glad to see that many of the same students from last term were in there again and she had two new additions. The two new people were not here yet so she decided just to let them all relax and enjoy what they are doing.

Sofia would give the new students a few more minutes and then she would begin the class.

Haley walked into the Astronomy classroom. Things had changed in her life, but the tower was still the same. She loved this place. She felt at home being so far up. It was a good feeling.

She saw Leisha sitting with Keiba and she sat down there too. "Hey," she said softly and waited rather impatiently for the class to start; she really loved Astronomy.

"Hey guys!" Keiba said warmly as Leisha and Haley sat down near her. She sat up and looked at them. "That's strange, Leisha, I was here last term. But I came late, so ... yeah, probably wasn't here for a good time of the lesson!" A small, lopsided grin crossed her face.

"I'm pretty good. Just wishing and praying that the Professor won't give us too much homework. How were you guys' summers?"

Leshia was glad that her friends were all here. She only had one best friend and that would always be Salina. God she missed her, she was hoping everything was going ok for her.

"My summer was there thats about all I need to say, I am just glad I am here with you guys."

Tabi realize that she had dozed a little when she heard the noise around her. Some people just had no respect to others but then she should not have been sleeping but she was so tired and this was a late class.

Tabi decided to set up and look around the class.

"God can't you guys be any quieter, I was trying to get a nap before class started." Tabi spatted at the ones in the room.

Keiba nodded at Leisha. "I'm glad everyone's back safely."

Tabi spat fiercely at everyone who was talking. "Um, sorry Tabi. I didn't think we were talking that loudly anyway."

Second Years- First Lesson Empty Re: Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Fri Feb 17, 2012 1:13 pm

Haley, who had gotten enough of anger and sadness in her summer, rose and walked over to Tabi, feeling a white-hot fury swelling up in her.

"I'm sorry Tabi," she said sarcastically, "I just didn't know that this was your personal quarters. Of course I'll be quiet."

Then she snapped. "Merlin, Tabi! Get over yourself! You're not the biggest person in the world, all right?! If you wanted a nap, then by Merlin's beard, nap while the rest of us are still living!" Haley yelled at her, "And don't think you're the only goddamned person in this world who has a hard time!"

Haley, who was so enraged, still felt extremely ashamed that she had just screamed at a student. She took a deep, ragged breath and let it out. She then looked into Tabi's eyes.

"I'm sorry," she then said honestly, "For snapping. But honestly Tabi, you're not the queen."

Then Haley turned to professor Slytherin. "I'm sorry," she said again, "I'm gonna go outside and just ... get myself together, all right? I'll be back in ten."

Without waiting for an answer, Haley walked out of the class, sitting down on a bench outside, feeling horrible.

Keiba stared in amazement at Haley's outburst. She'd never seen her so angry before. Eyes wide and darting between the two girls, Keiba didn't hesitate to follow Haley outside. Whatever had happened over break sure must've been trying.

"Haley, are you okay?" Keiba asked, sitting next to her.

Second Years- First Lesson Empty Re: Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Fri Feb 17, 2012 1:32 pm

Haley looked at Keiba. She felt cold inside. She felt heartless. She felt anger.

"No," she said after a while, taking a few breaths.

She was sure it must be weird for Keiba to see Haley so cold when she usually always smiled to people. She really just wanted to be a safe haven for everyone really. She wanted to be there for people who needed her. She had never really had anyone who was there for her. With exception of her parents, but she had never wanted them to feel the burden of her friends' pain. She sighed, figuring now was the best time to tell Keiba; she didn't want Keiba to find out what had happened through someone else. Haley owed her as much as to tell her the truth herself.

"My parents were assassinated when they were on a mission in Germany this summer," Haley said in a monotone, feeling more heartless and cold than ever.

Post by Keiba Namid Fri Feb 17, 2012 1:43 pm

"Oh my god. Haley!" Keiba was stunned. That was one of the most terrible things anyone could go through. She felt a small tear trickle down her face and she pulled her friend into a bear hug. "You poor thing. That's so horrible. No wonder you were so upset in Infiltration." She rubbed her back in a comforting gesture, sensing Haley would need a friend more than ever right now.

"You should have told me before. I'm so sorry about it. That's just... unbelievable. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it's like for you. Is there anybody else at home with you? Or are you living alone?" Keiba really wouldn't want anyone to be alone after their parents died, of all things.

Second Years- First Lesson Empty Re: Second Years- First Lesson

Post by Haley Vilde Smith Fri Feb 17, 2012 1:53 pm

Haley let herself be hugged and felt some comfort in it. She didn't feel as alone as she usually did when someone tried in any way to comfort her.

"Yeah, it's hard. It's very, very hard. And for a few months, maybe even more, I know I will be a different person. I will hopefully have changed slightly into the one I once wasy, but it will take some time," Haley said softly.

Then she shook her head. "My maid adopted me just before the summer ended. I'm glad about that. She has always been around me during my growth, and she knows how to comfort me just was well as I know how to comfort her," Haley said calmly.

It was hard to think about the fact that her parents were dead and that she weren't even going to see them again in this life. But she was coping with it. It would never be okay, she would never be fine, but she would be all right.

After a while, she broke from the hug, sighing. "We should get back inside," she said and rose, waiting for Keiba to come with her back into the Astronomy classroom.

"Aw, honey. At least you have someone," Keiba sympathised, wiping the tear off her face.

Haley suggested they ought to go back inside, and Keiba thought she was reading her mind. "You must've made some new powers, I was just about to ask you the same thing. Come on, let's go," she said, following Haley back inside. She wasn't sure what would be going on in there, but she hoped it was a little calmer than before.

Tabi was most certainly awake now, she just sat there getting yelled at. She could not believe that Haley just ripped into her.

"I never said I was the Queen, Princess most diffidently. " Tabi yelled ay Haley as she walked away.

Tabi was going follow he out into the hall but a look from her sister told her to not even dare.

Sofia could not believe her ears when she heard the students yelling at each other.

"That is enough, I will have quiet in my class. Tabi that will be 20 points from Slytherin. 10 for sleeping and 10 for yelling."

Sofia thought she better go see what was going on with Ms. Haley. Walking to the door she heard her crying and talking to Keiba.

"Keiba, would you mind going back inside for a moment while I speak with Haley here."

Sofia wanted to speak with Haley, she had heard something had happened to her parents and she wanted to make sure she was ok.

Leshia could not believe her sister was turning back into the girl that she knew. Leshia saw Professor Slytherin leave and took this chance to walk over to Tabi. Leshia walked right up to Tabi and slapped her across the face.

"I swear I thought you were going to change. You are not high and mighty person. You are not better than the rest, so you need to get over yourself."

Leshia was just fuming. Ever since Tabi hooked up with Ivano she has turned into this holier than thou person and she was sick of it.

"I swear some days I wish I was not your sister." Leshia spat at her and walked back to her chair.

Victoria was surprised to see the fight. She didn't really know any of these girls very well, but had never realized the craziness that could go down between them.

She was glad she hadn't had these kinds of...dynamics...at Hogwarts yet. She turned back to her book, trying to tune it all out.

Haley gave a small smile to Keiba, telling her to go on. If one thing was certain, it was the fact that Haley trusted professor Slytherin. She looked at the professor.

"I'm sorry," she said again, "I won't snap like that again."

She felt really bad about that, and she was positive her parents wouldn't be very proud of her for letting her frustration hit so strongly. A simple 'shut up'-look would've sufficed. Instead, she had to go all ballistic and yell at Tabi for being such a prick.

Sofia looked at Ms. Smith and she totally understood how she was feeling. It is hard when you loose people especially when you loose them in a terrible way like she did.

"Thats ok, I understand but I do have to take 10 points for yelling." Sofia placed her arms around the girl and brought her in for a hug.

"Just remember my office door is always open if you ever need to talk." Sofia looked at Ms. Smith and conjured a tissue for her.

"Here, lets clean up your face a little so we can get back in there. I have a feeling that Leshia is defending you as we speak and she is going to have to get detention for hit."

Sofia place a arm behind Ms. Smiths back leading her back into the classroom, just after Leshia had smacked Tabi. The red mark across Tabi face was the evidence.

"Leshia, I am sorry but I am going to have to deduct 20 points for the violence towards Tabi even though you feel it might have been warranted. Plus detention Saturday at 3pm with me in my office."

Sofia decided to get on with the class.

"Well I got this idea from my first years class. Who can tell me one of the Chinese Zodiacs?"

Leshia could not believe that Professor Slytherin had known it was her that hit Tabi. She was very upset with herself. The only reason she slapped Tabi was because the teacher had left the room.

"Yes, Ma'am" Leshia said through her gritted teeth as she glared at Tabi

Leshia sat down in her chair and thought about the questions that the professor asked them. Maybe she could gain some of her points back.

"I would say the year of the horse, I like that one." Leshia said.

Tabi could not believe that Leshia got busted for doing what she did. Leshia was usually the good sister and did not get in trouble.

Oh well it served her right for hitting her and she would get hers back later.

Professor Slytherin had asked everyone a question and currently she did not care about the points she had lost, she was not answering, she was staying back in her chair and looking up at the stars and waiting until the class is over.
