Matters of Warfare
Lay of the Land
Lay of the Land
It appears that the much publicized “cold” war between Britain and our European regions is about to turn flaming hot. This week, with war analyst Franco Zarcotti and field reporter Zarna LeGuinn, the German Times brings you an exclusive update on the current border measures being taken as far as Belgium and the Netherlands.
For over a decade, tension between Germany and Britain has been mounting but until now, the government of both countries have kept these skirmishes from turning into open warfare. However, all that may soon be coming to an end with Belgium and the Netherlands openly declaring for Germany whose magical governments still fall under our jurisdiction. While Muggle Belgium has separated from its mother nation, higher officials say that in times of strife “Europe stands together”. Austria and the Netherlands share similar sentiments.
However, not all countries feel that way. France has still yet to make a commitment to the war brewing so close to its shores, citing that “instead of an open declaration, France holds out a hope for peace”. A peace that, the officials fear may never come to pass.
Strategists and analysts postulate that should this cold war ever turn to an active one, it will mainly be fought via naval channels. This theory is supported by a statement given by Navy General Alexander Schumacher in which the veteran officer claims “the need for better warships is now” when justifying funding for three hundred new battleships at a recent press conference in Berlin. General Schumacher goes on to say that his thoughts are with his brothers in the army who have been deployed to all the “red zones” and who are dying by British hands every day despite the war’s current status as an inactive one.
