First Lesson. Empty First Lesson.

Post by Jabbar Mortiz Fri Feb 17, 2012 6:18 am

Jabbar sat on his desk waiting for his students to arrive. His desk was unusually cluttered with all sorts of objects all made of glass. He calmly floated said objects to the student's desks.

The chalk behind him began to scribble on the black board.

Glisseo

hand motion: full circle and a flick.

First Lesson. Empty Re: First Lesson.

Post by Guest Fri Feb 17, 2012 1:28 pm

Walking into the classroom Missy looked around at everything. She noticed she was the first student to arrive so she took a seat in the front and begin to take her quipped and parchment out.

Looking at the board she saw a spell and in front of her she saw a glass object. Reading over the spell Glisseo she wondered what it was suppose to transfigure.

Following the movements she said the spell.

"Glisseo" and then made the movement. The glass jar that was in front of her became a glass tea cup. But she was not sure if that was right.

Ella-May hurried into her Transfiguration class, worried she might be late. She noticed one girl already there, practicing whatever was written on the board. Ella saw the glass jar in front of her turn into a tea cup, and thought this must be pretty talented.

"Was it supposed to do that?" She asked, plonking her bag down and sitting next to the blonde girl.

Missy noticed another girl sitting down beside her and asked her if she was suppose to get a tea cup.

"I actually have no idea, that's just what happened". Missy smiled

"The lehrer never actually said what it was suppose to do, I thought maybe it would turninto whatever you were thinking."

Missy was really confused she had never heard that spell before.

"I am Missy"

Ella chuckled. "Nice to meet you Missy. I'm Ella, Ella-May to be precise. But I prefer Ella."

"Hmm, I wonder if that's right. Were you seriously thinking about teacups when you cast the spell?"

Keaira walked into the Transfiguration classroom, seeing Ella-May from the ship, and Melissa from previous lessons. They were in a conversation, and Keaira had no wishes to intrude. She gave a short nod to the both of them, and then sat down in the back, fishing out her things.

She opened the book to the page of the glisseo spell. She then frowned. It stood that it was mostly used on stairs, but this was glass. She shrugged. Maybe it was another one, or the spell was used for many more things. Either way, Keaira decided to wait until the lehrer told them more about it.

Jabbar watched the students come in from the corner of his eye while writing on his parchment. He decided it was time to start the class.

"Good morning, class" He stood up. "Today we will be practicing the Glisseo spell. I don't expect you all to cast it properly on the first try but I will say that it will be part of your exam" He walked around his desk, his eyes landing on his students.

"As your instructor I'll make sure you learn practical spell work and that you are able to perform them in unusual circumstances, or in this case, unusual targets" He motioned towards the glass objects. "This class will be mostly practical. The way I see it, if you can perform the spell properly than you know the material and you'll pass this class. Reading the book is your responsibility and is strongly advised as it contains tips that will help you learn the spells. I won't request that you write essays as I don't want to read them anymore that you want to write them."

"Now back to the spell." He grabbed his wand and a glass statue from his desk. "This spell if performed properly will make it's target slippery." He smiled. "That is half the assignment" He flicked his wand and the chalk began to write on the black board.

Reparo

Hand Motion: flick and hold positon.

"Reparo is the second half of the assignment. I expect to see a lot of glass breaking so please be careful" Jabbar moved back to his seat. "Any questions? If not, you may begin."

Missy thought that was the weirdest spell, turning a glass object to a slippery surface. Now the other spell he had shared with them the reparo spell she knew that one. She had lern it along time ago. She used it to fix things her siblings broke. She had obtained a wand from her parents storeroom. She never wanted to know how they got there.

After study this she was able to give a wave to Kearia so she knew she was not ignoring her.

The she turned to Ella. "Nice to met you too"

The tea cup she had broke then she fixed it and started again

She made the circle and the flick "Gilleso" this time the glass jar changed to what looked like a sheet of ice on the table. Maybe she just pronounced it wrong earlier.

"Glisseo."

Ella pointed her wand at the jar. Instead of changing to look slimy or wet - like she expected it to - nothing happened. If anything, it looked shinier than it had before. She picked it up with her hand. It wasn't slippery at all. Ella-May narrowed her eyes at it. That was the third time she'd tried the spell. Come on, one more try. This time pronounce it clearer...

Taking a deep breath, she cleared her head. "Glisseo!" She said it loud and clear, and the wand maneuver was definite. She stared at the glass. Nothing had changed again. Except, this time when she picked it up, it was so slippery it immediately fell out of her grasp and shattered over the table. She let out an accomplished grin. Finally!

This time, for Reparo, she practiced the wand movement while thinking the spell's pronunciation. Flick and hold. Flick and hold. Flick. And. Hold.

"Reparo!"

Immediately the tiny glass shards flew back together and stuck, like they had never broken. "Lovely," she breathed, feeling very pleased with herself.

Terry was having a bad day. He had been late to almost all of his classes. Walking into Transfiguration he found a desk and sat down and read the bored.

"Gilleso" he said what a interesting spell, then looking at his table he notice a glass object and cast the spell at it only to have the object explode into pieces.

He noticed the next spell Reparo that he used to repair the broken glass. After a few tries Terry finally got the spell right.

Eilee entered the class and felt her cheeks puff up. Why was she so small? Sighing she nodded to Professor Moritz before picking up her own wand. She cringed slightly.

"Glassieo," she tried watching as it did nothing. She listened again until she heard the spell correctly.

"Glisseo," she murmured watching as the glass turned shiny. She stood up and grasped the jar happy that it worked and the glass slipped from her hands. She frowned before looking at the teacher with large curious eyes. His hair was really long she wondered if she could braid it as fast as she had done with her grandmother at a time in her life. She shook it off.

"Reparo." She stated clearly watching as it came back to pieces. She wondered what other fairy-people would think of this.

Jabbar smiled as the sound of glass breaking reached his ears. "Very good" He walked around watching his students. "It seems that our time is almost over. For those of you that managed to perform the spells correctly congratulations and to those who haven't please practice and if you have any questions feel free to come to me."

He made the glasses float back to his desk. He had to remove the spell before putting the objects back in place. "Have a great day and I'm awarding five points for each house."
