Marcus sat, feeling rather uncomfortable, in the bar at a table right in the centre of the room. Why? Well because if he was a little human shaped snack he was going to make sure everyone saw him and so would be less likely to attack him for food. Jotting down his thoughts on the atmosphere in his note-book, Marcus took a sip of a dark red drink and tried not to think what was in it.

Rare indeed for Charlie, she had decided to try and come out and socialise, but as soon as she stepped into the pub she smelt fresh living blood and her eyes widened as she saw Marcus.

Acting quickly, Charlie blended into the shadows and saw some vampires taking an unhealthy interest in him, she felt her eyes flash red and she stepped forward with her teeth out, snarling.

As soon as they saw who it was, they backed off immediately with an apology.

Taking a seat next to Marcus, Charlie pressed her lips to his hard, in a passionate kiss, before breaking away:

"Oh Marcus, what are you doing here? You're offering yourself up as a vampire happy meal, it's dangerous here..."

Marcus had been a reporter long enough to know what types of silence were healthy but the silence around him right now was telling him that he was being watched. When Charlie came up to him he smiled but when she kissed him passionately he kissed her back happily, stopping with a wide grin,

"I'm doing my job at the moment Charlie, I'm trying to interview a vampire about how the ministry is treating them." he smiled happily at her, "It's good to see you again Charlie... it really is a joy to be around you."

Charlie smiled lightly when she realised that Marcus had kissed her back, her possessive nature had taken over when she had seen other vampires observing what she thought to be hers.

"Forgive me for kissing you without due warning Marcus, instincts kicked in before I could catch myself."

Hearing what he had planned to do, Charlie would have gone White, if of course she could have been whiter than she was right at this moment in time and she shook her head.

"You should never come here alone, vampires here won't think two seconds about draining you dry, always notify me when you're coming here. As for interviewing someone, since I scared most away, you've got me."

Marcus chuckled a little bit when she seemed to apologise for kissing him. A small part of him was a little bit hurt that she felt the need to apologise for it but he took it in his stride easily enough. He touched his lips with a finger and smiled,

"Don't worry about it Charlie." he blushed a little bit, but felt bold enough to add, "Feel free to be more instinctive around me."

Marcus blinked a few times. It could have been a trick of the light but Marcus could have sworn he just saw Charlie pale even more. He shook his head a little,

"Well I'll be sure to notify you next time." he agreed, not forgetting some of the hungry looks he'd been given, "So you'll be my interviewee?"

Charlie saw Marcus touch a finger to his lips and she couldn't help but smile a small happy smile, glad that he seemingly enjoyed the kiss, and maybe by the end of the night he would have another to send him home safely.

"I will try to keep the instincts positive then Marcus, after all, some of the more primal instincts wouldn't bode well for your health."

Glad that he agreed to let her know next time, Charlie nodded her head with him, quite content that he would keep to his word, but maybe she should keep an eye on him anyway...

Brushing the thoughts aside, Charlie smiled again.

"Yes, I will be your interviewee if you still desire it. Who better but myself, the eldest Vampyre around here."

He saw her small happy smile when he touched his lips with his finger and blushed a little bit, knowing that she could tell he'd enjoyed the kiss. Marcus chuckled a little bit,

"I'd appreciate that Charlie." he smiled at her, blushing faintly as he did so, "The possessiveness would be great... like I have my own guardian angel..."

Marcus grinned when Charlie agreed to be interviewed. If he was honest, she was who he'd had in mind for the interview in the first place. He smirked as he got ready with his pen and paper,

"Oh please, you don't look a day over 20." he joked lightly, good naturedly, before slipping into journalist mode, "Just for my readers... do you mind telling me how old you are?"

It was a little odd to Charlie that they both seemed to be thinking the same thing around the same time, but it was welcome none the less, chuckling slightly, she nodded her head.

"I'll be sure to keep an eye on you if you would like that, just to see if you're doing okay, but you won't see me unless you really look."

With a good natured smile Charlie readied herself for the interview with Marcus, she was more relaxed with him than she would have been with anyone else.

"I'm 450, round about, you get to the 200 Mark and sadly you forget you birthday..."

Marcus chuckled with her. It seemed that their minds had met in the middle there for a moment and they'd thought the same thing at the same time. He grinned,

"Well that will make me feel a lot safer, thank you." he smiled a little bit faintly but still happily, "I'll be sure to look extra hard... to catch a glimpse of you."

Noticing that Charlie was relaxing around him, even in their present location, Marcus couldn't help but smile. It warmed his heart to know that she was so relaxed around him,

"Wow... you're looking good on 450!" he joked lightly once again before frowning slightly, "It's rather sad you can't remember your birthday though... do you remember when you were turned?"

Charlie was glad that her normal power was being seen in a good way, whereas most of the time it was thought of as rather creepy and a little bit over protective but she should have known that Marcus wouldn't object to it.

When he said that he would look extra hard to catch a glimpse of her, Charlie smiled lightly, it made her feel special to hear such things.

Agreeing with Marcus when he said it was sad that they don't remember their birthdays, Charlie wished that she could do, although she had nobody still alive to celebrate it with.

"I was turned on 31st March 1561, I can at least remember that date, but no vampire could forget when they were turned, even if they wanted to."

Marcus didn't find the idea of Charlie watching over him as strange as he would have done if anyone, literally anyone, had offered to do the same under any circumstances. But with Charlie... with Charlie, Marcus felt safer already knowing that she would be watching over him. Seeing her smile, he deduced that she enjoyed the fact that he'd said he'd look for her. With a faint blush he made sure to jot down on the pad to include Charlie's 'heart-warming smile' in his article. He also made a note to mention the sadness in her eyes when they reflected on her not remembering her own birthday,

"31st of March... 1561..." he muttered as he wrote down the date quickly. He frowned a little bit, "You said that you could never forget it... was it painful?"

Charlie wondered for a moment what Marcus was writing down on his pad, then decided not to look for she would rather keep it a surprise for when she read the article in the newspaper when he had written it.

It was sure to be wonderfully written even if the subject was a little boring.

"Yes, you never do forget it, the feeling that it brings, that total sense of nothing for one moment, then it almost feels like you've been put on stimulants, every sense is alive with heightened powers..."

Smiling a little as she remembered the feeling, Charlie remembered to actually answer Marcus' question:

"It depends who turns you, I was turned in a violent manner, thus it hurt, but some masters turn people in loving caring manners..."

He could see that she was curious as to what he was writing so he moved so that his pad was covered, grinning as he did so. But when she looked away he smiled more. It was a sign that she trusted him to write what she said and to write it well,

"Wow..." he muttered even as his pen scratched furiously to get her exact words down, "That's deep... I suppose it's because technically you die and then are brought to a stage above death..."

Marcus frowned a little bit when he learnt that Charlie was turned in a violent manner. A large part of him hoped that person was dead. He didn't want anyone to ever hurt Charlie,

"So it varies from master to master?" he nodded as he wrote down her response before smiling a little, "How often do you have to drink blood to sustain yourself?"

Charlie smiled gently as she was told what she had said was deep, she hadn't meant it to be however she was glad that she might have been able to shed some light on the situation and to do it in the correct manner, explaining it correctly.

"Thank you Marcus, I just try to explain it as best I can although nothing can truly describe it, it is something that you have to feel to know, almost like love..."

Sensing the small flare of anger from Marcus when she told him if how she was turned Charlie smiled and moved on to answering his next question with a larger smile

"Once again it is subjective on what type of blood you drink, animal blood needs to be every other day, but human blood can last for a week, or sometimes two feedings are needed if you take a small amount."

Marcus had to admit that the way he was writing it now, there might be a rather large increase in the number of people wanting to be turned in vampires. So far it seemed pretty damn good,

"Ah... I like that!" he smiled as he wrote down what she'd said, "Almost like love... so I'd have to experience it to be able to write about it properly?"

He saw her smiling more and relaxed, he couldn't help but smile back at her as he jotted her answers down,

"Right... so you can have both... but human blood is more potent. Got it!" he smiled a little bit more, "Which do you prefer to feed from?"

Charlie nodded her head, although she she painting vampirism as a pretty good option right now, she knew that it was far from perfect and that not just anybody could become a vampire...they had to have a certain quality, a durability.

"Exactly, although, it sounds as if I am merely painting this as a holiday lifestyle suitable for all, but it is not as wonderous and as joyous as the analogy of love would suggest."

When asked what she preferred to feed upon Charlie smiled slightly and thought only for a split second about it.

"Naturally any vampire you ask will say Human blood, it is far more satisfying, however many including myself have personal reasons for which they abstain from human blood."

Marcus looked up from writing on his notepad and smiled. Seemed that Charlie knew exactly what he was thinking, as if their minds had met,

"Don't worry, I'll be sure to tell my readers that it takes a special kind of person to be a vampire." he assured her with a small, sad, smile, "It isn't all great... is it?"

He nodded as he wrote down what she was saying. Marcus smiled as he looked up from his pad,

"So human blood is always preferred but some choose animal blood for personal reasons or, indeed, convenience... gotcha." he smiled a little bit more, "What is it like when you feed on someone? How does it feel?"

Charlie was glad that Marcus was going to put that into his article, after all she didn't want a lot of new born vampires running around and messing things up for the cover up of the vampire race.

"No. It's not all good. Far from it...if you survive longer than 50 years it becomes a long and lonely life that for a while you fill with blood lust, until you tire even of that."

That was the stage that Charlie herself was in.

Thinking about how feeding made her feel, Charlie smiled her gentle smile and chuckled slightly, trying to sum it up first in her head before she spoke, wanting to sound collected.

"It feels as if you're alive again. You can almost feel your heart tremor as if it's beating, you grow warm...it's pleasurable."

Marcus knew that new born vampires weren't exactly all for secracy so he had to add things into the article which wouldn't make the life seem too glamerous while not being negative of it. He couldn't help but smile sadly,

"I imagine that after 50 years or so your friends and family begin to weaken and age." he wrote down at his pad before frowning, "How exactly do you tire of blood lust? Correct me if I wrong but wouldn't that equate to a human tiring of food?"

He could tell that she was going to struggle with answering this question in terms that he fully understood but that was fine by him. After all, people needed to know it was different,

"So it's..." he paused and blushed slightly when she mentioned that it was pleasurable, "I was going to ask if it was like getting butterflies in your stomach but you're making it sound more like a..."

He blushed feircely, unable to finish his thought.

Charlie raised her eyebrow a little bit when Marcus asked how you could tire of blood lust, to her, in her own thoughts there was a big difference between the desire to feed, and having blood lust, and she didn't think that she would have to explain herself to Marcus, but it seemed like she did;

"I always feel that blood lust is wanting to feed in the most brutal, or powerful way, taking more than your fill, killing when you feed, after the novelty has worn off, it begins to become more sedate and more...relaxed when you feed." she smiled lightly "If you understand me."

Chuckling a little, Charlie shook her head at the suggestion that it was like butterflies in her stomach, and it showed that he was just as niave as his older counterpart used to be, and it was endearing, hopefully she would be able to explain it a little better this time around;

"It probably feels more like the thing youre blushing about." she grinned.

He noticed her raised eyebrow and decided that maybe it wasn't as straight forward as he would have believed. After all, he had never been a vampire and had never experienced bloodlust. When she began to explain, Marcus nodded as he began writing faster,

"I get it now!" he declared happily, "A blood lust is where you kind of... lose yourself in it and take more than you need. But regular feeding is where you take what you need and do it in a calm and relaxed manner. I'm glad we mentioned this bit actually, a lot of people still believe the muggle fairytales that vampires always drain a person dry. I've always hated that myth, with this I hope it can be blown wide open so people will be more tolerant."

At her chuckle, Marcus thought she must have found something amusing about his initial answer. He blushed a little bit more when she agreed that it was probably closer to that,

"Well... I'll write down something to that effect." he replied, blushing deeply before deciding to move along, "There are muggle myths and stories that vampires can turn into animals. Is this in anyway true? Do you gain a better understanding of the animagus process perhaps?"

Charlie nodded her head when Marcus repeated what she had said in his own understanding, she had always liked the way he got passionate about what she said to him, after all it was flattering that what she said meant so much to him, and because of this she felt like she could share things she wouldn't normally with him.

Wether or not that was a good thing was a completely different matter.

"It's definately not true, the majority of the older vampires do not do this, although there are some that ruin are name, taking more blood than needed killing all over the shop, and most importantly turning vampires and then leaving them alone to make their own way." Charlie shook her head with a hiss of annoyance "I hate those vampires." she said with venom.

Chuckling lightly, Charlie shook her head a little bit and she tapped her fingers loosely on the table; "No we don't actually, it's just myth, different clans I suppose might do, but I am not part of a clan, I am a wanderer."

Glad that she approved of his own version of her words, Marcus went ahead and finished up the notes for that particular question. He couldn't help but get passionate about this subject since it revolved around her and she was his life's obsession. She was the one who made the sun rise for him,

"So the older the vampire the more... relaxed they are in their feeding? I don't suppose that's the right word for it though." he paused when she talked about the type of vampires who left new born vampires everywhere and wrote down her reaction, "I take it these type of vampires are not well respected by the vampire community as a whole?"

He smiled a little bit before taking a little bit of his drink. Writing down that she was not from a clan, he paused before chuckling sheepishly,

"I forgot to add a question about clans... so here's one on the spot." he smiled happily, "What general benefits does one get from being part of a clan?"

Charlie smiled lightly and she nodded her head when he said that they were slightly more relaxed in their feeding, she thought that she could explain it a little bit better however now that she had dwelled on it for a few moments, it was something she had never been very good at, coming up with answers on the spot.

"We have less of a desire for feeding I suppose, we are used to the sensation of being without food, where as a newer vampire is not and as a result is prone to giving into the hunger." she nodded lightly, happy with this explaination.

Nodding her head, Charlie grimaced again and she couldn't condone the existence of such vampires; "That they are, however some of them manage to stay alive despite their often rabid state, that's often why they create new vampires, by accident."

Thinking only for a moment as to what protections that you get from the clans Charlie said; "Well, they get protection, and they often lead a normal life, just in the daytime, getting married, having some sort of 'child'."

Marcus circled some of his notes, making a mental note to focus on that piece of information. Of course when she looked like she was going to elaborate on his simplification he immediately got his pen at the ready to take more notes eagerly,

"So an older vampire can last longer with less because they are more aware of the hunger for blood? More experienced in it?" he asked as he drew arrows on his notes, "And newer vampires are inexperienced so that tend to go off for food a lot more often."

Marcus noticed Charlie's grimace but decided not to include it in his article. She had to have some secrets from his readers after all. It seemed like she really detested that kind of vampire,

"They create new vampires by accident... then what?" he paused before clicking, rather horrified, "They leave them to their own devices? How is a new born vampire supposed to teach themselves how to hunt and feed properly? They could starve from lack of understanding of themselves!"

As he wrote down what Charlie listed as the perks of being a member of a clan, he noticed the way she spoke about children. Come to think of it, did vampires have children? He frowned in concentration,

"You said... 'some sort of child'..." he looked a little bit confused, "Would you care to elaborate on that statement please, I fear I'm at a loss. Is it like adoption or something?"
