Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Charlie smiled and then nodded her head, to her understanding this was what it was like for the majority of vampires, it was what it was like for her after all, and she decided that these statements were going to repsresent her race, and she hoped that she would not be a part of some sort of attacks as a result of it, although she didn't think that people could disagree with what she said.
Looking into Marcus' eyes when he said that he was unsure of what happened to a vampire after they were created by one of the rogues, and Charlie closed her eyes, she knew her own experiences, but she didn't feel ready to say they were her own just yet;
"Well, yes. They are often left to make their own way and those vampires are most often found out by clans and either adopted or killed off for creating too many problems for them." she frowned "But it's not their fault. I've always found that completely unfair."
When Marcus asked about the children, Charlie smiled lightly and she decided that although she didn't agree with this, that she would tell him a little more about it; "Although vampires do not age, they are older if you understand, so their idea of children is siring a vampire and then raising it, as if it was their child."

Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Glad that he now understood some of the vampire kind a bit better now, and he was getting to know Charlie quite a lot better, he was happy with how this interview was going. When she revealed more about what happened to those who were turned by accident and left without a proper master he felt himself growing angry yet sad,
"That's not right..." he whispered even as he continued to write, "Adopting them into a clan is the right way to go. But... killing them? They're people with feelings! They're just scared, confused and hungry! They deserve shelter... not to be put down like some wild animal."
He nodded in understanding, even if it did seem a bit strange to him at first,
"So older vampires kind of... adopt younger vampires?" He paused in his writing and looked up with a smile, "Giving the younger vampire a father and a mother figure as well as mentors?"

Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Charlie nodded slightly, it wasn't fair the way that people thought that they could do this to Vampires, even fi they were older and they were more powerful they were still people and it wasn't fair that they have to be killed just because it was the choice of someone else because they didn't want to help them.
"There are different clans, nice and nasty like there are with any people, however there are more nasty people than there are nice...unfortunately, many young vampires are seen as animals."
Shaking her head a little, Charlie frowned a little bit and she thought about how she could say this in a way that wouldn;t get Marcus upset again, and it was not going to go well either way that she said it, so she decided to just be honest;
"Some people do that, with the new vampires that are left, but the older clans, they tend to have some members...that have a mind set that they can take what they want, and they look for specific humans, and when they think they're ready, they take them, and turn them, some even do it with actual children."

Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Marcus was quite disgusted that people, wizards and vampires alike, would do such things to new vampires just because they were unable to control their urges just yet. He was honestly surprised that someone hadn't set up a charity in defence of these vampires and resolved to do something to that effect,
"So the clans reflect the people in then?" he nodded a little bit, "And they have different opinions about loose new vampires without masters."
He could tell that Charlie was choose her words careful and wondered why she would need to do that for a few moments before she told him. Marcus stopped writing for a second before continuing,
"I'm... not sure how to feel about that." he replied honestly, "So children are... taken and turned by older vampire couples who want to have a child?"
Marcus shook his head a little bit before smiling,
"Tell me about wanderers... tell me about vampires like yourself."

Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Charlie nodded her head a little bit when she saw that he was now getting the hang of it, and she smiled lightly, it was very much subjective as to how people acted, after all some clans were fantastic and they were able to help lots of vampires, others were neutral, and the others...well they were just barbaric.
"Yes, that's correct, many clans have different viewpoints on these ideas." she smiled lightly.
Marcus stopping writing was something that shocked Charlie a little bit, she hoped that he wasn't offended by what she had said, after all it was the truth, only in some cases, and most often in the extreme clans such as the ones who killed the new vampires;
"Most of the vampires only take on adults who know what they're getting themselves into, as they are like children to an 100 year old vampire, but in the more extreme clans, yes, some children have been taken."
Sighing a little, Charlie smiled lightly and tried to paint the picture prettier than it was; "It is more free, and even though you don't have a family as such it could be better in a way, you can go where you want, when you want, and there are no constraints."

Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Marcus was beginning to feel like he was getting a greater understanding of how the vampire clans worked. If he was honest it seemed like they worked exactly like the clans of old had worked for humans. Some were good, some were bad but most just were,
"Ah right." he smiled back at her, "And that's before we even begin to question what the individual members think. Good good..."
He shook his head again. The idea that children were taken from their families to be used by some older vampires like that distressed him slightly but he'd reported some nasty things in the past so he just swallowed it,
"Right..." he paused and looked up at Charlie with a concerned look, "I'm not sure if I will put that into the article. People... parents... might take it badly. Might see it as something that all vampires do despite the fact that I'll write it is a minority."
He could tell by the way she sighed that she was about to lie. He wasn't sure how but he was,
"The life of a traveller with all of the benefits." he noted, making more notes before looking up at her, smiling faintly, "Is that all?"

Re: Interview with a vampire (Open/Vampires)
Charlie had begun to forget that what they were saying was going to be put out into the press and she nodded her head a little, she didn't want the clans on her back for speaking out to the paper, she wanted the world to know about them in a more positive way, but she didn't want to risk her life doing so.
"I think that would be a good idea, after all the clans are out of touch but they can still read papers, I just hope that this doesn't backlash on me, and it would do if you included that information." she said quietly, looking around the bar to see if any vampires were loitering and attempting to earwig.
With a small nod of her head, Charlie stood up and she tucked her chair under the table, a tiny smile on her lips as she stood at the end of the table and looked as if she was making herself ready to go;
"That is all for now." she said, quietly.
