Second lesson, FIRST YEARS: Incendio
Lucia sat down behind her desk, her phoenix Sanationem sitting on her knee. She petted it while waiting for the students to come. She wanted to teach them a Fire-Making Spell, considering how the war on the German side used inferi. She never wanted them to meet an inferi, but if they ever did, it would be very good to know a flammable spell. Besides, Incendio was the most used firespell, and really was just something every student learned.
She leaned back on the chair, waiting for the students to come. She wasn't pleased with the homework the students had done... or lack thereof, but she would let it go this once.

Tessa walked into the classroom with Yasmina. She loved how she was getting around much easier. " Hello professor Henley." She then walked over to a desk and sat down.

"Good day, Ms. Grey," Lucia said with a smile as the student walked into the room.
Today would be a bit trickier for Ms. Grey than last time, but Lucia was sure it would be fine.
"Just sit back and relax while we wait for the rest of the class," Lucia said softly.

Xander walked into the class and over to a seat. He hoped Luke was still in most of his classes. He was getting overwhelmed with these Gryffindors.
Getting settled he noticed the phoenix for the first time. If it had been in the class before he hadn't noticed it. Surprisingly, the teacher didn't seem as happy as usual. He was glad he had turned in the homework, not wanting to be on her bad side if it ever came to it.

Kasey swept into the room, looking around. He noticed not many people were in class just yet. He made his way to the front, smiling a bit as he sat, seeing the Phoenix. He mused to himself about how she possibly got the bird into her possession.
He hooked his bag over the back of the seat, taking out a novel, leaning back in his chair, starting to read as he waited for class to start, though occasionally peeking over the top of the book to look at the bird.

Humming lightly, Jaycie made her way to her classroom. She stepped into the room and absent-mindedly took a seat. She brought out her things and flipped her notebook open to the back cover. Dipping her quill in the inkwell, she started to doodle. Her name, Mam's name, Jenna's name... random little splatterings of ink made a connect the dots picture of a wonky tree.

Re: Second lesson, FIRST YEARS: Incendio
Lucia rose from the desk and looked at the students. "Welcome to second class of Defense Against the Dark Arts," Lucia said with a smile.
"Today we will be learning a flammable spell, called 'Incendio'. This is a standard firespell that you can use for about anything from lighting a fireplace to burning inferi," Lucia said plainly.
"If you do not know what an inferi is, it is a dead body that is brought back to life with dark magic. The Germans likes to use inferi in battle, so I guess a firespell will not be the worst thing to learn," Lucia explained.
She then stepped forward and put a twig on a iron kettle she had placed on her desk.
"Incendio," she said, pointing her wand at it.
The twig instantly caught fire. She let it burn out.
"As you can see, I've placed kettles for each of you on the desks with a twig in it. The incantation is 'In-CEN-dio'. Now, begin," Lucia said with a smile, keeping a weary eye in case they needed the aquamenti spell.

Anne Pointed her wand at the twig, thinking of the way Proffesor Henley had set fire to hers. "Incendio," she said, and was amazed that her twig caught fire.

Tessa bent down and was whispering to Yasmina. " You should bark if I got it right, but not so loud to disrupt class." She then laughed as she pointed her wand at the twigs on her desk. " Well here goes nothing." She was still laughing as she said. " Incendio." The twigs caught on fire, Yasmina gave her a small bark.

As the professor rose from her desk, Kasey set his book aside. Hearing then seeing that they'd be using fire in the class, he cautiously turned and put the book into his bag, then pulling his wand out. He took a quick glance around being sure the only flammable thing nearby was the twig.
He pointed his wand at the twig concentrating a moment before saying. "Incendio." Nothing happened. He felt himself roll his eyes, and looked to the two gryffindors that had already gotten it. He cleared his throat, making sure to pronounce it clearly, he pointed his wand at the twig. "In-CEN-dio!" after a brief moment, it caught a weak flame. He smiled a bit at himself, happy to have been able to do it the second time. It was an easy enough spell after all.

Re: Second lesson, FIRST YEARS: Incendio
Xander sighed. He'd been doing this spell for about a year now, his father having taught him. But it didn't mean everyone had.
He was glad to see Tessa doing so well. Even though she did get on his nerves, it didn't mean he wanted her to do poorly. Concentrating on his own kettle, he said "Incendio", lighting the twig on fire.

Damien made it to DADA thinking he was on time only to find that the class was in full swing he was noticed that they were doing the incendio spell. That was an easy spell he could do in his sleep if he wanted to.
Out of the corner of his eye he was watching Tessa and she seemed to be doing a good job.

Re: Second lesson, FIRST YEARS: Incendio
Annabell walked into class a bit late. She got a little bit lost on her way to class. "Please forgive me, Professor" she said, shyly.
Without wasting too much time, she found a seat and got her wand out. She noticed people performing the incendio spell. She'd read about this spell in a book recently and knew how to do it. She prepared her wand and focused on the twig carefully. "Incendio" she said, with a clear voice. The twig caught fire and Anna smiled, being quite pleased with herself.

"Mr. Greene, Ms. Murphey, five points from each of you due to your lateness. I'm sorry, but lateness is not accepted in my classes. I'm strict on that," Lucia said calmly, looking at them.
She wasn't mad, so she wasn't really shooting daggers at them or anything, just giving them a heads-up.
She then smiled at the entire class. "It seems it was no challenge whatsoever for you, that's good. Now, five points to everyone who managed it. As for the homework I assigned you last lesson, I am very disappointed in how few of you came and gave me the information. Anyways, for next lesson, I want a 50 words paper on the incendio charm, and add one thing you think is fascinating about it and what you think you'd mostly use it for. Now, off you all go," Lucia said softly.

Lesson 2, DADA
Points:
Xander Clarke: 20
Gryffindor: 10
Hufflepuff: 0
Ravenclaw: 5
Slytherin: 25 (20 points due to homework done)
Homework: 50 words on incendio, adding what is fascinating, and what you would use it for.
(OOC: I give 15 points for the homework, and five extra if it is good enough. So, till next time, I advice you to do the assignment. Owl it to me. Of course, you may just "give" it to me without actually having done it, but then no points are awarded)
