Wondering (Anne and Tess) Empty Wondering (Anne and Tess)

Post by Anne Jones Tue Mar 13, 2012 10:13 am

Anne was sitting by the Whomping willow. She was debating if she was going to go in the Shrieking Shack. She hadn't been in there since, the incident. She had decided that she was going to call her torturing 'the incident.' She still had many bruses and MUDBLOOD still shined bright on her arm. She just sat there wondering about everything.

She was still starring at her arm, with her sleeves rolled up, wondering if it would ever fade. She didn't notice that Tess approach her, nor did she have time to cover the word.

Walking down the usual trail, Tess hummed softly having a good day. Her vacation was great, though short, she managed to relax. She managed to spend time with Victoria, Luke and Xander and she felt more at home. Reachign the end of the road, she looked towards the Whomping Willow. She always found it magestic and strong and was surprised to see someone was around there.

Her curiosity got the best of her and she walked towards that direction. She noticed that it was that girl...what was her name? She thought to herself. Anne.

She was going to say something, but as soon as she saw her expression and her mood dimmed a bit. She was usually either cheery or sarcastic, but this time around the mood was dampened especially as she saw the words "Mudblood" written on the girl's arm. She didn't know whether to introduce herself once more, take fact of the word, or simply ignore it.

She decided for a fourth option, and purposely stepped on a piece of twig to announce her being there.

Anne looked over her shoulder and closed her eyes Damn she thought, she could tell by her exprresstion she had seen her scar.

"Hey Tess." she said, "How are you?" She was trying and most likely failing to keep the mood light. At the moment she was still trying to decide to go in the shack or not.

Tess simply raised her brow, but said nothing simply deciding to play. Why not? She sat down about a foot from her and shrugged at her question. She'd rather not dwell on it and decided not to look at the clear marking that brought on an onslaught of questions but she kept mum.

"I'm fine...was just taking a walk. Yourself?" she asked.

Anne shrugged then said "Go on ask I know you want to." she sighed she didn't care she had nothing to be embarassed by. She was strong.

"I'm trying to figure out if I want to go in the Shrieking Shack." She told her. She needed to go in there again sometime but was she ready yet. She looked over at Tess, wondering if she was going to ask about the scar.

Tess stayed quiet for a bit.

Are you asking me to ask because you want to talk about it? she inwardly asked.

That word brought shudders to her, and she'd rather not know. Her curiosity was never worth feeling the horrible guilt of coming from a group of people that thrived on blood superiority. Sighing she stretched her arms and didn't look over at her.

"I'd rather not ask, but I know you want to talk about it...if you want, you can say it. I don't want to push you"

Anne sighed did she want to talk about it. Yes she did. She wanted people to be careful. She didn't want this kid to hurt anyone else.

"A German boy carved into my arm using a cursed blade." She told her, then added, "In the Shrieking Shack." Then went back to looking at the whomping willow. She didn't want revenge. She looked around for a change of subject, and landed on a fox.

"Tess are you still working on becoming an Animagus?" She asked

Tess was surprised at the confession and she shook her head. Those damned Germans, why would they be so cruel?! She felt a pang in her chest and looked up at the sky. It angered her a bit at the fact that Anne simply changed the subject as if she was talking about the weather.

Her breathing was getting a bit heavier, and she fought the magical sparks that was coming out of her. Why did she have to be so easily swayed when it came to emotions. She closed her eyes tight and answered somewhat strangled.

"Yes" she murmured and gripped the grass tight.

How could you be so nonchalant?! she felt her inner self scream.

Anne looked at Tess she was clutching the grass tightly. By her expression and aura she could tell she was wonder why she seem so calm and collected. If the truth be told she wasn't she was dying on the inside. But she had had years of hiding her emotions. If she had acted like she felt she would be in her bed sobbing and horrified but she still had to go on. Life doesn't stop just because you get hurt.

She looked down at her feet, and wondered what to say. She was quiet, and didn't like it. She wished Damien or Parker was here, she would be a bit more herself. She could let a little out. She looked back at the tree and closed her eyes. She could still see everything that happened in the shack clearly.

Anne curled up in a tight ball and started to cry. She really wasn't ok no matter what she told people. She was strong, but being tortured was not easy.

Taking in a deep breath, she no longer felt that static of magic going through her. She needed to calm down, but she figured repressed anger would be let out eventually. She decided she'd try to release some pent up anger when alone.

She heard some shuffling and soon she hear Anne sobbing. Turning to face her, she frowned seeing that she was crying. She felt bad, had she said something wrong? Oh Merlin she felt bad. She wasn't close to Anne, in fact she had only talked to her once, but the emotions that Anne was portraying touched her and she tentatively leaned forward and patted her back softly.

"Don't cry" she cooed softly. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything"

Anne laughed but it was humorless. She wasn't crying because of Tess. "No, Tess you didn't do anything wrong." she said, still sobbing slightly. "I'm crying because every time I close my eyes I see his face, laughing as he tortures me." It was enough to make anyone cry. She was 11, and she had suffered more than most people do in a life time.

"I'm 11 years old Tess, and I've seen more than most people twice my age." She had been forced to grow up way to fast. She should be laughing at peoples jokes, reading about adventures,or playing sports. She should not be forced into a war. She was in too deep to back out now, it was personal.

Tess frowned. She didn't mean that she had caused her to cry-she shook her head not wanting to talk back to her. She patted her back and tried to calm her down. She had learned that often times magic and living in the magical world did actually change the whole perspective of life.

The attack last year was what had changed her. She patted her back softly and tried to calm her down.

"I'm sorry that you had to deal with that" she whispered. "Whoever hurt you...they will get what's coming to them"

She looked away from her and her eyes darkened. Whoever it was, if she were to meet him face to face, she'd destroy him. No one should hurt a child, no one.

Anne had stopped crying she looked up and dried her face. She had shed enough tears over herself. She was strong brave, and she knew that she could handle it.

Anne shook her head, as much as she hated him she couldn't wish ill upon another child. "As much as Ihate him, I couldn't wish something bad upon another child," She said then added in her head, If he could be called a child he is more of a monster. Anne was not cruel, she would never wish anyone dead.

Tess sighed and closed her eyes tight. Why were people so bad? How could people be so cruel? She frowned at the thoughts and looked up at the sky.

"You know....you're such a Gryffindor" she murmured trying to find some sort of light. "You see the good in society, despite the fact that from your incident it shows that it's made up of monsters and heartless individuals with prejudistic thoughts. You're good....don't....those markings...they don't mean anything unless you want to emphasize it."

She looked at her and tried to calm the girl down.

"You could even use glamour charms" she whispered trying to comfort her.

Anne laughed this time with humor, "It's funny the other day I was told I would make a good Slytherin." she sighed at the comment about people being evil. "We all has both light and darkness inside us. What matters it what we chose to act on that is who we truly are. I believe that there is good in all, even if I can't see it." She told Tess.

She looked at her arm and sighed "It's just a word, it doesn't mean anything. I have plenty of magical talent. Look." Pulling out her wand, she focused on Damien calling her sis, meaning she belonged and whispered very quietly, "expecto patronum" and beamed as a silver phoenix came out of her wand. She watched as it then flew over to Tess and said in her voice, "See?"

Tess smiled slightly seeing the Patronus.

"I never said the word didn't mean anything, I meant the cut, the cut can just be something else from you" she said. "Nor did I ever say you didn't have any magical talent"

Sometimes the girl confused Tess a bit.

"I meant something like this"

Taking out her wand, she tentatively lifted the sleeve and murmured.

"Pulcher"

She had learned an old cosmetic spell from her mother, whose family had created the spell. The words slowly disappeared and she looked up at Anne hoping she wouldn't be offended.

"You can see it, but as long as it's not touched..." she trailed off.

Anne sighed and watched, careful not to touch it but within seconds the word reappeared brighter than before. She sighed but looked at Tess anyway, "Thank you for trying but it's dark magic, it wont stay covered up I've tried."

She smirked at Tess, "I knew you weren't doubting my magical ability, I just like showing off." She said, hoping to lighten the mood. She needed to laugh, she wished they had someone like the Marauders or the Weasley twins. She could use a good prank.

Tess found herself pouting as the glamour charm failed, it was ancient and yet it failed to happen. She frowned a bit but, her mouth twitched a bit in amusement at her comment.

She sure is eccentric she thought to herself.

"Calm down first year, you'll see what you'll be able to do as a second year" she teased back softly.

Perhaps Muggles had a cure? Victoria had told her about things like that, after all Victoria was a muggleborn herself.

Anne smiled as she stood up, she was glad she had talked to Tess, "Well I have decided that I am going into the Shrieking Shack, and was wondering if you would like to join me?" She thought since it was Tess who helped her gain her courage she could come along.

She raised her wand and thought 'accio' and the long branch she keep hidden came toward her. Maybe she was still showing off, but hey she was a great witch.

Tess shrugged and nodded.

"Sure why not"

Seeing that the girl was showing off she rolled her eyes and smirked.

At least her ego isn't bruised that's for sure

Tess, while very fond of magic, usually kept her skills in whatever to herself, she felt that she'd rather not gain too much attention, but rather be underestimated. But she supposed that's why she was in Slytherin, because of her cunning and misconception of her, not because of her confidence.

Anne poked the tree with the branch and watched as it went still as though it was turned to rock. She walked to the tunnel and waited for Tess to join her.

She slipped beneath the roots and made her way down the tunnel. She could do this.

Interesting~! she thought.

Following her, she looked around fascinated by just how clever it all was and how curious magic was. She hadn't gone to the Shrieking Shack before, but she'd wanted to take Xander with her for an adventure.

Anne managed to get herself to the shack without breaking down, she doubted she could go in the room whee it all happened.

She turned to Tess who had followed her. and opening her arms in a dramatic way said, "Welcome to the shrieking shack. Rumored to be the most hunted building in the United Kingdom." she said, "not that it's true." she added under her breath, She lit her wand and decided to give Tess a tour. She led her up the stairs and paused for a moment at the door of the room, she could see her own blood had stained the floor. She walked past it and made no comment.

She pulled herself up and looked surprised at how creepy it looked inside. She would have loved to come here at night, to get a real spook out of it. She looked around and winced every single time that the floor boards creak every single time.

Haunted? she thought amused.

"Lumos" she whispered.

Her wand was also alight and she looked around. She looked and saw something on the floorboards, that was like dark rubies.

Blood she thought to herself.

"Fascinating" she murmured.

Anne felt sick, she probably shouldn't have brought Tess with her the first time she came back to the shack, she should have brought Damien. She started to shake, almost as if she could hear her own screams echoing off the walls.

She could feel a vision coming on and tried Occlumency. She couldn't do it, she then went stiff and fell. She already knew what her vision would be.

She saw him laughing as she screamed and withered in pain.

She opened her eyes hoping she didn't scream aloud.
