Wondering around (Shadow and Vincent)

Vincent Sighed as he walked toward the howling cave as people called it he had heard it was nice and quiet which Vincent needed at the moment, work was getting tough for him and he needed a break, Vincent yawned and sat down on the ground.

He wondered how much history was hidden in the caves walls, he shrugged and decided he would just look around he stood up and looked around he wondered why it was called the howling cave he smiled and looked toward the entrance when he saw someone come in.

Shadow had a lot of things on her mind, she had to just close down her club because of problems, but she was going to be opening up another one really soon. She was not going to leave her girls high and dry.

She had wondered around and was checking things out, going places she had not been in awhile looking up she noticed that someone was already in the cave.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to disturb your solitude." Shadow said very depressingly.

Vincent looked behind him and noticed a woman come in he shook his head and smiled " No you weren't disturbing my solitude" Vincent said in all honesty she wasn't he smiled kindly at the woman he wondered why she sounded so depressed.

Vincent shrugged inwardly " Why do you seem so depressed?" Vincent said aloud when he actually meant to think it he blinked and his face went red " Sorry don't answer that" he said quickly while scratching the back of his head and looking down.

Shadow smiled and sat down next to the gentleman " Thats ok, I really do not mind talking about it."

Shadow had gotten used to talking to strangers over the last few years so it didn't bother her.

"I was having some problems with a club I owned and I shut it down before it got too messy." She knew there would end up with aurors on her door step and they didn't need that.

Vincent smiled and looked at the woman " I'm sorry to hear that" Vincent said it was sad when a business closed down, he sighed and hoped her luck would change.

" Oh where are my manners, I'm Vincent Rain, and you are?" Vincent said holding out his hand to the woman.

Shadow had to smile and took his hand to shake it, "Shadow, Shadow Heart" She had to smile at Vincent, he seemed very nice guy.

"So what brings you to a place of such peace and quiet?"

That was why Shadow like to come out here, it was away from the world and she loved it.

Vincent smiled " It's nice to meet you Shadow" Vincent said shaking her hand she seemed very nice he smiled.

" I needed to get away from work" Vincent said with a sigh he loved his job but it sometimes he needed to get away from his job.

" It's so peaceful here" Vincent said with a small laugh.

Shadow understood many times the need to get away from work, she did that a lot.

"So what kind of work do you do?" Shadow wondered what kind of work would stress a person out so bad.

"That is why I come here a lot, I love the quiet. But I also enjoy someone to talk to once in awhile too."

Vincent smiled " I'm a healer" Vincent said with a smile he loved his job but it sometimes got hectic and stressful he yawned quietly.

" Yes it is nice to talk to someone every once in a while" Vincent said with a slight nod

" What kind of club do you own?" he asked her kindly.

Shadow found it very interesting that he was a healer, "The is a very nice profession to have, I imagine it is very rewarding for you." Shadow used healer services a lot in her profession, she always getting checked out. But she had a lot of spell that were used to prevent any problems.

"I really do not have anyone to talk to other than my staff and clients. I don't have many friends." It was very true, Shadow had no one, and when she thinks about the fact her circle of friends depends on her being on her backside it is very depressing.

"Well the club I did own was a gentleman's club, but I had an offer to open a burlesque club. Now those clubs are very fun, and it doesn't require you to sleep with people all the time."

Shadow really hated what she did, but any more she didn't know how to do anything else. She loved the idea of the Burlesque club because she will be able to just run it and not any other services.

Vincent nodded " Yes my job is very awarding, but sometimes it can be cruel" Vincent said with a small sigh he had a love/hate relationship with his job, on one hand he got to help people, and on the other hand he had to tell families bad news and help make descions.

Vincent blinked he could never picture her being an owner of a gentlemans club " Well believe it or not I have never been to a Gentlemans or a burlesque club my whole life, I know what they are but I just haven't been to one" Vincemt said with a small shrug.

/'Shadow nodding in agreement, "Yes I cannot imagine how it would feel to have to tell someone that their family member was dying or that they had already died."

"That just means your a respectable man, I have not met many of those." Shadow did enjoy giving people a good show and that is why she was glad she could make some people happy.

"So Vincent, do you have a respectable girl to keep your attentions?"

Vincent nodded " That's the worst part of the job mainly if a child is dying or dead, that breaks my heart" Vincent said sadly he hated it when kids came into the hospital and they were dying, dead, or abused he sighed and rubbed his forehead.

Vincent smiled " Well my mother had alway's taught to respect others mainly women and treat them nice and alway's be polite" Vincent said honestly his mother had taught to alway's respect others than he laughed slightly.

" No woman in my life, what about you any guys in your life?" he asked her kindly

Shadow found herself playing with the dirt on the floor listening to Vincent talk. "Yes, it is said when a child passes away. I believe they are cut back from a rewarding life."

Shadow was remember her mother having a still born before she had the twins.

"My parent never taught me anything other than to hate myself, and sometimes it is hard. I bury myself in my work to forget." Shadow had to sigh

Shadow could not believe that she was crying on this poor guys shoulder. "I am sorry, you don't want to hear my sorrows."

Shadow wiped away a tear that was forming, "Nothing for me, most people do not want someone that has been used and abused."

Vincent sighed and nodded he had remembered one kid had died that he had become attached to which kinda made him sad on some days he nodded.

" Yes I believe that as well" Vincent said agreeing with Shadow as she said about children dying.

Vincent smiled at her " It's okay you can tell me all your sorrows and I'll listen" he said said with a smile " Look you need to forget what they taught you and learn to love yourself" Vincent said with a kind smile.

" You seem nice, kind, smart, and beautiful" Vincent said than his eye's went wide and he blushed a. Dark shade of red.

Shadow really liked this guy, he was the first guy that had treated her like a person in a long time. Most guy wanted one thing from her and that was it, always a business transaction.

"My parents never agreed with my choices and kicked me out of the house as soon as I graduated school. I am not even German, but I have learned the language and the lifestyle." Shadow sighed

Shadow could not help but lean her head on Vincent shoulder, "But how do I do that, how do I love myself?" Shadow did not have the first clue how to love herself or someone else
"I have done things I am not proud of, and I still have to continue to do these things."

When Vincent said all the things he had sad about her she could not help but cry into his shoulder, "Thank you, no one has ever said anything so sweet to me before and meant it. I think your a wonderful and handsome man yourself. Any girl would be lucky to have you." Shadow smiled through her tears.

Vincent looked at Shadow and sighed " Well now you don't have to listen to your parents anymore" Vincent said with a small sigh " And believe it or not I was born in Germany and yet I have an British accent" Vincent added.

Vincent looked at Shadow and smiled " Well do something positive and continue to do positive things" Vincent said not knowing if he made sense.

Vincent noticed her crying and he thought he had upset her until she talked than he smiled " No one has loved me at all they think I'm strange because..." he started not sure if he should tell her the rest.

Shadow sighed "I haven't seen or heard from my family in about 8 years." Shadow could not believe she had never even tried to contact at least her sisters.

"I suppose everyone can talk different depending on where they are a lot of the time." Shadow had to smile.

Shadow smiled, "Well maybe I will just have to meet you in the cave more often so I can have more positives feelings." Shadow really felt like she could trust this guy, he was just nice and down to earth, just the type of guy she would want if she deserved it.

Shadow looked at Vincent as he was talking and he talked about being strange, "Well I cannot imagine that you are any more stranger than I am."

Vincent listened to Shadow and blinked " They haven't tried to contact you? Not even to see if you're alright?" Vincent asked he could understand some of what she was going through his father had stopped writing him for a while Vincent sighed.

" Well I lived in London, for a while than I moved back here" Vincent said with a shrug he loved London but he also loved Berlin he sighed.

He laughed " Well when I say strange I mean... Er just look" He said he closed his eye's and when he opened them there was another him sitting across from them " I can make copies of myself only two though" Vincent said " I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to run" He added looking away from Shadow he thought she was nice, kind, and very down to earth he knew that he blew his chances of a friendship with her he sighed.

Shadow sighed, "They told me I was disowned and they paid me a healthy sum of money to leave and never return." Shadow really missed her sisters and from what she had heard she had a brother too.

"I really miss London a lot. But you know what they say, you can have roots and wings." Shadow smiled.

Shadow watched with interest when Vincent showed her why he thought he was strange. "I think that is a amazing gift to have."

Shadow knew that since Vincent was sharing things with her she was going to be honest with him.

"My real name is Carmin Prewett, my father is Potion Master Prewett from Liverpool. I have been using Shadow as a cover name since I left home." Shadow sighed, it had been a long time since she was that honest with anyone.

Vincent looked at her and sighed " Well just try to look ahead and leave the past in the past" Vincent said he hoped he didn't get her upset or mad he was trying to help her he sighed and closed his eye's than when he opened them the copy was gone.

Vincent shook his head " Everyone thinks it's a curse, because I can be at two places at once, it helps at work though like say I have a meeting and I have to meet with a patient at the same time I can be at both of them" He said with a small smile.

Vincent knew a lot of people hated his gift because they thought he was cheating or being lazy he sighed " Prewett, that name sounds familiar" Vin end Said than when she told him her fathers name he blinked " Master Prewett? He's very famous in Liverpool" Vincent added with a small nod.

Shadow had to smile when Vincent talked about leaving things in the past. "I will be glad to look past it if you will always be around to remind me."

Shadow would love to be friends with this man, she would love to see him as more than a friend, but no one ever wants to be with a whore.

"Well I believe that your power would come in handy, especially in a fight. You could be fighting in the front and then sneak up in the back." Shadow laughed a little as she thought of some dirty things too. That was usually where her mind was paid to be.

"Yes, that would be my father, I imagine many of the medical potions healers use my father has had a hand in. He has many things he had invented."

Vincent smiled at her " I'll be sure to alway's remind you" he said with a smile he knew so much about wanting to run away from the past but he knew you'd have to look at what your future might hold he smiled at Shadow.

Vincent would love to be friends with this woman, maybe more he smiled inwardly.

Vincent blinked and nodded " Yes, I guess it would come in handy when it comes to a fight" he said with a nod he smiled at her she was very smart, kind, and beautiful he shook his head inwardly.

" I have never used any of his inventions nor any of his potions I use others but I keep his on hand incase we run out of medicine"

Shadow smiled and then leaned over and kissed Vincent on the cheek, "Thank you for being my friend, I do not have many of those." Shadow blushed a little

Shadow was glad that she had this new club, she was no longer going to offer her services to anyone. She wanted to be in a real relationship with a real loving guy and wondered if Vincent would ever see her as something other than a whore that she saw herself as.

Shadow laughed as she thought about his power, "Just think this guy could sneak up on you and attack you, then you bring you other self out and smash him from behind. Its the perfect plan." Shadow clapped a little at her thought.

After that Shadow realized she needed to get out more often. "Sorry it has been a long time since I have been able to talk about magic stuff. It is usually how much money you want."

"I know everything there is to know about potions, I just don't use the knowledge."

Vincent blushed slightly when she kissed him on the cheek he smiled " No problem, and thank you for being my friend" he said with a smile he was glad she was his friend he didn't have many, unless you counted his coworkers whom only cared about how much money they made he shook his head inwardly.

Vincent smiled and wondered if she'd see something other than a freak that can make copies of himself he shrugged inwardly and he sighed inwardly he smiled at her when she said about sneaking up on someone he laughed slightly.

" It's fine, I'm surprised that I'm not speaking in healer terms as much as I'm at work" he said with a small laugh he did that a lot when he talked to people he sighed.

" I know just about everything for potions, but I'm not the best at potions but I've gotten better in time" he said with a shrug he remembered when a potion blew up and burned his eyebrows off her laughed at the memory.
