Lesson 3 - Second Years
Jacqueline had prepared this lesson with new vigour. Sure, the emotions within were fear, anxiety, despair, betrayal, hurt, and then more fear with a hint of worry, but she would not let that bring her down. She looked around as her students arrived and smiled softly at each of them, 2 winged horses standing behind her. The other one was sick and could not be used for the lesson.
"This lesson, you shall be allowed to ride ze 'roses in ze air. Do not go above ze treetops. Mostly, ze 'roses speak english, but if zed are misbehaving, call for me and I shall speak french to calm zem down. Ze main words to speak are, go, fly, 'alt, float, and land. I 'ave spleet you into two groups, group one will go with ze grey coloured one, - and group two with ze chestnut coloured one, Thowra. Before we begin, can anyone remember ze official name of a grey winged 'orse, and ze official name of a chestnut one?" Jaqui looked around and awaited one of the students responses.

Pyxis arrived swiftly, and was most excited when Professor. Girard announced they would be flying. She beamed happily and her hand flew into the air at the speed of lightning when asked the question.
"A chestnut coloured winged horse is called an Aethonan, whereas a grey one is called a Granian." She said confidently.

Walking to class, Zara picked up a strong scent of winged horses. As she arrived, she smiled at the sight of them. Zara loved animals, despite the fact that she may have harmed many. Obviously, she didn't hurt them just because she could. There was always a good reason.
She walked up next to Pyxis and smiled at her. Zara hadn't actually met her before. "Hi, I'm Zara" she said.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Charlotte hurried down to the Care of Magical Creatures lesson, she was not looking forward to it today and she just hoped that she was thinking on it too much and they wouldn't actually be doing more with the horses.
"Hey guys." she said with a smile as she approached the lesson.
When she got there she realised that all her hopes were in vain and there they were standing ready to terrify her again.
Listening to the Professor Charlotte's heart sank and immediately she became nervous, she couldn't believe that she had to ride these things and she decided she would do all she can to be last on the horse.

Haley joined Pxyis, Zara and Charlotte and gave them a wave.
She then paid attention to what professor Girard was saying. She then felt a small smile pass on her lips. She got to fly. She loved flying. She could, however, see that Charlotte seemed a bit nervous.
"It'll be fine, don't worry," she said with a soft voice to the girl.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Airen approached the CoMC lesson. He looked around and saw that he was the only boy there so far. He'd noticed that most of his year's population was female. But hey, it was just an observation.
"Salve, Profesore, (Hello, Professor)" he said.
He noticed Charlotte chatting with some other people. He was glad that she seemed to be trying to mend bridges. However, she was also obviously nervous about the horses. He remembered that she was just as nervous about them on the ground, so she'd be even more terrified of them now. Walking up to her, he tapped her on the shoulder.
"Hey, Charlotte," he said, coming up to her side. "You'll be fine. I'm here for you."
He knew the answer to the question, but his hand went up later than Pxyis. He just lowered his hand and mentally shrugged. Guess you can't always be right, he thought to himself.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Victoria took her time walking down to class. She was trying to hold on to the remnants of the weekend with fresh air. As she got closer she saw the winged horses were there again.
She hoped they'd be riding them again. She hadn't had time before the last lesson had ended, not to mention some students had gotten in trouble for flying. Maybe if the Professor was in a good mood they'd be able to this time.
Seeing so many students already gathered, she stood out of the way and just watched the horses moving. They were beautiful.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Leshia ran down to CoMC and knew she didn't want to be late for class as she arrived the teacher was talking about them flying the animals this lesson and Leshia still did not want to fly on a animal.
Looking around at the other classmates she must have looked strange not wanting to fly. She was afraid of heights and could not get over that. She just stood back from the other students and just watched everyone.

Parker rushed down the hill after the others, seeing that class was starting. He was a bit out of breath and pulled at the too tight strap of his bag as he came down to the clearing. He caught sight of Pxyis and went right over next to her, smiling.
Looking out he saw those winged horses. A third lesson with them? And this time actually flying them? Parker really wasn't looking forward to it. Maybe if he let the others go, he'd be able to skip on it again.

"Oui! Very good, Miss Wilson. 10 points to Slytherin! Now, your groups are, group one Airen, Charlotte, Pyxis, Parker and Salina, and ze rest of you are group two. Get on weeth eet, and make sure everyone gets a turn." Jaqui reminded them. She then sat down and continued planning for her next lesson, where she would expect to receive their 100 word summaries on Winged Horses.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Haley frowned at how professor Girard said the names of group one, and then just said 'the rest of you' to group two. It sounded like she was taking on favorites. Truth was that Haley didn't really care, but it could be people who did. She was also pretty sure that the professor weren't saying the first group was better than the second, but it wasn't pleasant anyways.
She then turned to Zara, Victoria and Leisha. "All right. Who wants to go first? I don't mind, but if any of you want to really badly, then by all means," she said with a smile and pointed to the winged horse they had gotten, Aethonan. She believed that was the horse she had been riding the last lesson of her first year.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Charlotte looked at the horses and couldn't take her eyes off them, she really couldn't be more afraid of doing anything in her life, even though her friends were in a group with her, she hoped that they wouldn't make her go first or anything.
Wringing her hands she just continued to stare at the floor and she hoped above all hopes that the horse wouldn't want to fly today and would just stay on the ground. Looking between all of the people in her group Charlotte blinked rapidly, even more scared now that Professor Girard had told them that there was no way that she could not take a turn.
"W-who want's to go first t-then?" she asked nervously, gripping Airen's hand to hopefully make her feel better.

Airen nodded and moved with his group over to the Granian. He felt Charlotte grip his hand tightly. He looked over and gave her hand a gentle squeeze in return. He knew that she was deathly afraid of heights and did not want to go first.
He thought he should go first to give her some confidence, but thought that maybe some one else would rather be first.
"If no one else, then I'll go," he said, waiting for people to say if they wanted to go or not.

Parker went into his group, he noticed Charlotte looked even more scared then he felt. Simply riding the horse last year had been enough of an adventure for him, actually taking off into the air didn't seem very pleasant for him. He harldt trusted himself to hold a broom, let alone to fly up in the air on the back of a winged horse.
When Airen offered to ride first, Parker took a small step away from the winged horse. "Erm, yeah...you should go first, good idea." He really didn't want to have to fly, but it seemed it would work out that way.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Victoria didn't mind who she was paired with, she wasn't really close to anyone here, so figured she may as well make friends.
At Haley's comment she said, "Feel free to take the first run if you want. I'll go next if that's ok."
She was excited to try it, but wanted to see someone else do it again, just to make sure she had a good idea of it.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Haley nodded to Victoria, and walked up to the beautiful chestnut. She patted his neck a bit before putting her foot by the wing to get herself up. She then smiled. "How about a nice little trot?" she said softly, and the horse started moving.
Haley found the best grip she could and then smiled widely. "Fly," she mused, and the horse neighed and spread his wings. Before she knew it, she was flying. Though it was a little bumpy, she also enjoyed the ride a lot.
The wind in her hair felt nice and she made sure the wouldn't fly above the tree tops, not wishing to loose points for something she loved. She then beckoned the horse to land, and it did. He trotted a bit before she halted him, and then she jumped off.
"Your turn then, Victoria," she said joyously, feeling superb.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Victoria smiled at how much fun Haley seemed to have. Now that she was done and it was Victoria's turn, she could feel the butterflies in her stomach.
Deciding to plunge in head first, she thought it best to pet the horse first, get used to it. The horse seemed friendly enough, calmly nudging her hand when she held it out. She didn't want to force it's compliance, so opted to let it get used to her on it's own.
After a few minutes, when she thought the horse was more at ease, she hoisted herself onto it's back, getting a solid hold with her knees right behind the wings. Taking a deep breath, she said "Go".
Victoria was amazed by the sheer power of the horse. The movement of it's muscles and the its balance as it glided above the trees. This is better than flying! She liked having a living creature with her in the sky. Once she had made a few laps around where the class was gathered, she guided the horse to land so someone else could have a turn. She couldn't help but grin ear to ear.

Re: Lesson 3 - Second Years
Airen nodded in acceptance. It seemed that most people in his group weren't real fans of being more than a couple meters from the ground. He understood. He wouldn't push.
He walk up to the Granian. He petted the neck softly. He knew the horse couldn't understand English, but he thought it might understand a friendly tone.
"Hello there. Hope you don't mind if we go for a quick ride," he said as he mounted the magnificent creature. He placed his legs just in front of the joint where the wing joined the body. It was almost like a mark where the saddle should go on a normal horse. Though, he knew this was far from a normal horse. He dug his heals into the side of the horse.
"Go," he said simply.
The Granian started galloping forward and extended it's wings. With mighty flaps of its wings, Airen and the Granian lifted off the ground. He smiled and almost laughed at the experience. He felt the wind rushing in his face. He guided the horse by pulling on it's mane to the left. He turned in a counterclockwise circle just a few feet before he broke the treetops. Airen guided the horse down by relaxing his hands and commanding, "Land."
He dismounted and laughed at how fun it was. He petted the horses neck softly, working his way to its face. The Granian nuzzled his head slightly as if to show friendship. He smiled and withdrew from it. He walked over to Charlotte. He noticed that she still seemed a bit afraid.
Now back to his calm state, he placed a gentle and on her shoulder and gave her a warm smile.
"So, who's next?" he asked.
