Lesson Four - First Years Empty Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Briony Romain Mon Mar 26, 2012 6:50 pm

Briony was getting a little down and angry because she wasn't allowed her alcohol or her smokes, it had been a few weeks now and it was getting hard, she suspected that the spells that Lucia put on her were beginning to wear off a little bit.

Humming lightly, Briony rested her hand on her stomach and was glad there was no bump yet, it was going to be very big by the time they came back however and she knew that she wouldn't stop working even when it was about due.

Waiting for her class to come in, Briony sighed lightly, and hoped they would be on time.

Sam walked to her dueling class and she humed lightly as she walked to her class, this was the class she was excited about she smiled and walked into the classroom to see she was the first one there.

" Hello, Professor" Sam said giving her a smile and Sam sat down at one of the desks that were in the far back she pulled her hair up in a ponytail and waited for the class to begin.

Anne walked into class her hair pulled back into a braid. She smiled slightly at Sam. However after a recent vision she wanted to talk to the head for a few seconds before class started.

"Hello Proffesor Romain, I would like to appoligize for running out of your office. I was in a bad state." She told her. Anne then lowered her voice. "I'd also like to say congratulations." She said in a small whisper. She half glanced at her stomach.

Anne took her seat and waited for class to start.

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Jaycie Simple Mon Mar 26, 2012 7:44 pm

Jaycie pointed her wand to her throat and whispered the spell she had been taught previous lessons that magnified her voice. She tested it once before contentedly moving into the classroom.

"Good morning, Professor," she said in her magically-enhanced voice. She bit her lip, wondering if she should explain her absence last lesson. Jay figured the headmistress would already know, and decided not to waste her time by telling her she'd come down with a sickness that took Professor Henley a day to diagnose, since it was rare and not usually found in first-years. She'd missed out on two days worth of lessons, and regretted the amount of learning she would have to catch up on.

Corina entered duelling cautiously. She missed the last lesson and she hoped her Professor wouldn't be to hard on her. On the outside Corina looked as though she was confident but inside she felt bad that she missed class.

"Hello professor" She said and moved to her seat and sat down quietly.

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Duelling Classroom :: Lesson Four - First Years

"Sarah smiles like she doesn't care," Teresa sang softly. The song, Sarah Smiles by Panic! at the Disco, has been stuck in her head since forever. She absolutely loves the Muggle invention, the MP3, she has at home. Too bad electronics didn't work at Hogwarts.

Sighing loud for only her to hear, Teresa went to the front of the class.

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Briony Romain Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:57 pm

Raising an eyebrow as Anne came over to her Briony's eyes narrowed a little, so she had a vision? Glad that things weren't bad in what Anne had seen Briony gave her a small smile;

"Why thank you."

With a small sigh Briony lookedaround the classroom and decided that she would begin the lesson for today, closing the door with a whip of her wand she merely looked at her students for a while, before her gaze settled on Corina, who had been absent last lesson. It was no skin off her nose, she wasn't here she didn't learn the spell.

"Hello class, today we will be learning another, rather basic, but effective spell that one needs to use in duelling, it is called 'Protego' now can anyone tell me what they think this spell can do?"

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Xander Clarke Thu Mar 29, 2012 2:18 pm

Xander walked briskly to the classroom and inwardly groaned when he was the door was already closed. He had an inward battle: Skip class and pretend to be sick, or go in and possibly lose points, but learn the spell that would probably be useful.

He sighed and tried the door, only a little happy that it was still unlocked. As he pushed it open only wide enough for him to move through it made a soft groaning sound. Perfect!

Taking a seat near the back he mouthed "Sorry, Professor" to the obviously peeved headmistress. He would take whatever punishment so long as he could learn another spell to protect himself with.

Sam was watching the class knowing Anne got the answer right she rolled her eye's slyly knowing Anne didn't want to be friends so take the opposite route.. Be enemies she sighed when the door opened slightly.

She knew this boy probably figured he was sly enough to come in without the professor knowing rolling her eye's at the boy she waited to answer a question she sighed.

Briony nodded slightly to Anne, when she gave the correct answer, the Gryffindors were really on the ball this year and she wondered how her old house of Slytherin were coming along, hopefully not too far behind.

"Very well done Anne, 5 points to Gryffindor."

Raising an eyebrow Briony felt it twitch slightly, as Xander came in late and she wondered just how she was going to punish him until an idea came into her head and she smirked lightly.

"Welcome Xander, you will be the first one to test this spell, we are learning 'Protego' today and the wand movement is a simple flick of the wrist from left to right."

Gesturing for him to stand in front of her Briony grinned;

"I'm going to cast a spell, you are going to block it. Ready? Good. Everte statum!"

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Re: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Xander Clarke Fri Mar 30, 2012 2:15 pm

Xander knew what was coming with the professor's first comment. Slytherin to Slytherin, he knew if a student walking in late, he would do the same. Punishment by humiliation.

He took up his position across from the professor, mentally repeating the spell with the right emphasis. He had tried the spell a few times against his father before school, but not enough to feel completely confident.

As he heard her spell he was momentarily taken aback. He didn't even know what was coming at him. That split second meant that his spell was a millasecond late. Sh**!

Briony watched Xander make the mistake of not being able to cast the spell in time, so her own spell hit him and sent him flying backwards into a pile of training mats that were luckily already laid out.

Raising an eyebrow Briony smirked;

"Now that is how you shouldn't do it." looking around the class Briony gestured to the students "Now get into groups of two or three and practice casting expelliarmus at each other, while the other attempts to use protego." she instructed.

Teresa laughed as she saw Xander fall on the cushions. She got up and looked around, deciding to find a partner. The spells won't work on her, but she could always practice her spells and help someone with the new spell.

"Hey, Hawthorn," she said to Sam. She only calls people by their first names when she decide whether she find out she will like them. "Want to be my partner?"

Teresa smiled with pride. She loves her last name, King. When ever someone call her that her narcissism increase by bit.

"Okay," she said. Good thing, she is attacking instead. Spells bounce off her. It was always funny to watch the magic bounce around the room until it had something to hit.

"Regis Clipeus," she said, releasing her shield from her bell choker. A dim, red sphere grew from her neck and disappeared when it grew bigger than her. "Alright, get ready, Hawthorn."

Teresa raised her wand and said,"Ascendio!"

She raised her wand again. "Tarantallegra. Silencio. Stupefy. Aguamenti. Bombarda. Duro. Furnunculus. Conjunctivitis," she listed as she use each and every spell. She continued to use those spell and won't stop until one of them hits Hawthorn.

"Good luck, Hawthorn."

Lesson Four - First Years Empty Duelling Classroom :: Lesson Four - First Years

Post by Teresa Maria King Sun Apr 01, 2012 7:25 am

Teresa was getting a little mad. She wasn't the type to give up. Then, she remembered something.

'Teresa, you can't use it yet. You have to learn more first,' she heard her mother warned when she taught her how to cast that spell. The King family was old and specialize in secrets, so it wouldn't be surprising if not many people know about. The bad thing about is it takes a lot of energy from an inexperienced person. Lily and her mother can do it fine.

"Decretum regis ascende," she said, pointing her wand at Hawthorn. A small white light came from the tip and grew, finally shooting out at Hawthorn. It split into five before attacking her, hitting at five other direction than forward. It won't be a powerful hit, but it works.

"Damn," she said as she see a bit of black in her sight. She sat down. "Hope it works. I really don't like to lose. Or getting in trouble."

Sam saw this " Protego!" she shouted as she tripped over a book and landed on her back side she closed her eye's as she heard the spells crash upon the shield when she saw black smoke she began to cough.

Sam stood up and waved the black smoke away " What was that?" she mumbled and looked at Maria.

"Decree of the King of Attack," Teresa answered. "One of King family many secrets. Nice work, Sam." She decided that Sam had her respect.

"But you're lucky it only split in five. If I was stronger, then there could be twenty like Mama or fifty like Lily. It hurts like hell."

Teresa quietly sneaked out a bar of chocolate out from her pack and opened it. She cracked it in half. "Wants some? Just don't tell Professor Romain."

"Go for it," she said. "If you can. You spells won't even hit within five feet from me."
