A Meeting Between Mother and Son (Luka and Raven)

Raven was proud, she was proud that her son had allowed himself to go up for one of the potions apprentice spots, the other person she knew that had gone up for it, she was also happy to have her there, she had been good at it from the beginning, even better than the other girl who had started and then left.

Opening the door to the office, the one that she never used, in the common room, Raven grimaced lightly, it was so light in here, it was making her a little bit uneasy so she closed the curtains and smiled happily again, it was much better now that it wasn't burning her eyes.

Waiting for Luka to come in for his first apprentice session, Raven grinned and played with her razor, knowing that he too would be bringing his weapons.

Luka hadn't felt a need to bring his razor, Joe, or his star thrower, Caity, so he merely grabbed his favourite weapon, his pride and joy, Freddie. He always took Freddie with him, no matter where he was going, even if it was just to his first apprentice session with his mother. He was incredibly happy that he'd gotten the apprentice place for potions, for it was his favourite subject - and not just because his mother taught it.

Luka walked along humming a creepy tune, his dagger in his hand. He toyed with the edge of it, before a first year appeared in his view and he slid it along his finger, cutting it open. He let the blood dribble onto his forehead and smiled at the first year, making them all but run to wherever they were headed. He chuckled and wiped the blood off of his head.

He had arrived by now and he walked inside. There he saw his mother, in a dark room - which was good. Luka couldn't stand the light, it was irritating. He smiled in greeting and slid his dagger into its case on his belt.

Raven heard someone coming into the office and she saw that it was Luka, glad that he was on time she gestured for him to come in and take a seat, it was going to be a rather interesting meeting, so that she could see if he was up to taking on the apprenticeship but she knew that he would be, he was her son after all.

"Welcome Luka, I hope that you have had an enjoyable holiday." she said quietly, a small feeling developing in her stomach when she thought of leaving the kids with someone that they hated "I hope the next time you will be able to live with me."

Thinking about the social worker who had dared to call her house a mess, and more like a house of horrors than a very caring and loving environment for children, and she hadn't seemed very convinced when Raven had then asked her why children needed such an environment.

"What made you take this position? What do you want from it?" she asked, staring at her son, taking on a more business like role than she would normally.

Luka shrugged his shoulders. His holidays had been adequate, but he'd not had much time for his normal practices making it rather disappointing. However, any time spent with his sister had been enjoyable, though he'd not had much time for her either. Which only served to irritate him further. So, all in all, they'd been adequate. "They were alright." He responded.

He smiled as she voiced that next time, he could spent the holidays with her and make wherever she lived a permanent home. He'd been disappointed when he'd not been allowed to live with his mother whom he'd already come to like because the environment wasn't 'loving' enough. Honestly, Luka thought that stupid. What child needed that sort of environment? "That would be nice." He smiled genuinely.

Luka smiled as their conversation shifted from small talk to the real stuff - the apprentice part of the conversation. He didn't even have to think about his response, it flowed off his lips naturally. "I want to learn everything about potions, the wicked ways in which it can ruin one's mind, send them into absolute madness, think that monsters are chasing them when they're not, hallucinations, death, torture, anything. I want to master the art of creating my own potions that can aid me with my evil biddings, but most of all I want to be able to know how to protect my sister with the use of an antidote if harm should ever befall her." Luka knew that his mother wouldn't care of the wicked ways in which he wished to use his potions skills - at least, he hoped.

Raven liked the way that her son did not talk more than he needed to, it made him very bareable to talk to, and she wasn't irritated by him, which was helpful considering that they were going to have to be living together pretty soon, and Raven thought that killing her children after a day or so of them being with her, would not be the best way to start being a mother.

"I am glad that you think so, I will attempt to get you there for the next holiday." with a smirk on her lips, Raven continued to think along the more apprenticeship line of the conversation, the other things were for another time when they were not being professional.

Sitting down at the base of one of the walls, raven tapped her fingers on the floor, keeping her gaze on the floor as Luka spoke to her, and gave her the reason as to why he wanted to take the apprenticeship. Then she slowly lifted her head up and let the large rather demented grin show on her face. This was perfect.

"Well this is just perfect. It means that I don't have to sit there and watch you do all of the borig goody two shoes potions that I would have to teach another apprentice, so...dark, and the darker the better by the sounds of it." she smirked, running a hand through her hair "What I need from you is to brew a potion for me, on your own with no help so I understand your making skills, where we shall start from, understand?"
