Meeting for the First Time (Aquila and Raven)

Raven had decided that she had better leave a day before she had the next meeting with her newest apprentice, this meeting she presumed would be harder when she didn't really know the girl much, but she knew that since she was in her house, they would have some similar traits, or she hoped from observing her in the lessons that they had had together.

Opening the door to her newly decorated dark head of house office, Raven grinned and she ran her hands through her hair, today would not be the start of anything too strenuous, so hopefully everything would go well, but she had some ideas for the potions, that would test her abilities, but also, her morality, and if she would actually make it.

Aquila was slightly nervous to be starting an apprenticeship in potions with her head of house, The Sweeney. The woman was slightly intimidating and often scared the students. She was ashamed to admit that she was scared to be left alone in a room with her, and it was ridiculous she knew, but she couldn't help it. The Sweeney was a darn crazy woman who scared the living daylights out of her.

Aquila rolled her eyes at herself as she thought that whilst walking through the halls. This was pathetic, she was Aquila Wilson and she did not get scared of a teacher - no matter how mad they were. In fact, Aquila wasn't scared of most things, so being scared of a teacher was ridicule worthy. She entered the office of her lehrer and smiled warily at her. "Hello." She greeted in her most confident voice to conceal the nerves within.

Raven looked up when she heard someone greet her, and she smirked a little when she saw that it was her new apprentice, Aquila Wilson, and she gave a faint smile, that was soon tainted into a large manic grin as she waved the girl in and closed the door behind her. She knew that this working relationship would either be worse, or more successful than hers and her sons...why? She wasn't attatched to Aquila.

True she wasn't very attatched to her son as of yet, but then again, there was more there.

"Hello." she replied, a twsited smile appearing on her lips as she leant forwards behind her desk to rest her elbows on the table, and she asked the same question that she had asked Luka; "What do you want?"

Aquila sighed heavily, not in the mood for twisted smiles and creepy looks that chilled the bone of many a student. She merely smiled back weakly and waited for the apprenticeship to start, excitement filling her. She really was eager to learn, it was just un-fortunate that her potions lehrer was... nutty...

When asked what she wanted, Aquila paused and bit her lip. What did she want? She knew it was a test, and if she answered wrong she'd been thrown out straight away for not having any potential in the subject or something along those lines. She decided to answer simply what she wanted.

"To learn." Aquila responded, a look of challenging on her face directed at the lehrer. She had a feeling being pathetic and weak towards this teacher would gain her nothing, so she would go for confident.

The answer to her question was one that Raven thought was satisfactory, and as such she would let the girl continue to try and explain to her what it is that she wanted to be able to do in this apprenticeship, after all, that was a very broad subject, and she hoped that she would be able to have the courage to learn some of the darker potions that she had in mind to teach her apprentices.

"That's a broad statement Miss. Wilson. If you wish to learn there are the archives upstairs." she said, with a cold look in her eye, deciding to get down to business "You have come here to learn the art of potion making but why have you come to learn this art? Why do you want to be able to master the ingredients to create perfect fusion and balance between them? Why do you want to hold the power of death and life in your hands?" Raven asked, not breaking eye contact from Aquila.

Aquila sighed heavily, so it was going to be like that. Well, Aquila was determined to prove that she was a perfect student that was ready to learn all about potions - after all, a potion could very well be the cure to her cancer. She was desperate to try anything, now that she really felt panicked about dying. The effects of her cancer had begun to settle in, and she needed a cure. But other than that, she genuinely did enjoy potions.

"It is a broad statement, so let me un-broaden it," she tapped her chin. "I would like to learn the art of potions, how one can bewitch the mind, ensnare the senses and even put a stopper on death. I would like to learn what ingredients, mixed together perfectly can cure a disease and the likes. I want to hold the power in my hands so I can stop my own death when I am too young." Aquila responded, holding the eye contact between her and her lehrer.

Raven nodded her head, she was glad to see that her new apprentice was not lying to her, after all, that would not be a very wise move, she would find herself without an apprenticeship, and probably without a limb or something more important than that.

So very surprised when she told her the truth, Raven hummed lightly and stood up from her position of sitting on the desk, she knew that it was going to be hard work trying to teach the child what she wanted to know, having that power and that skill would take a long time...but if she was willing to work.

"Well then, thank you for being so honest with me. You will find the more open you are the more calm I will be, that is how we shall work in the best manner with this new situation." she frowned a little as she crumbled some blood off her finger.

"So you wish to control your own death? Such ambition is not like my own when I was younger, but such power takes a long while to prepare, but I trust you are not then adverse to the darker side of the art?"
