Making Camp

This centaur was not many seek her because she was blind that is. She lived deep within the forest she never came out the ground that she was quiet she could never keep up with herd. She was albino centaur she lived deep within the forest and as she start small fire sure she was blind but she could still do stuff that is. That is she could hear the sounds through the forest. She set up a trap that is as she moved through the woods she came quietly through the forest.

The trap had do with one bird lead on the trap but she had start to moved toward the thing had died. She took the feathers off and she went about jabbing stick up on it and when she put it over fire and lay down to get at better angle she was roast her duck that is. She normal ate fruit but she thought it desert or some sortie that was it and she look back down at the man and such things.

She went to rolling the stick and she knew that no one could see it in hogwart castle but she was cooking something yummy or so it would seemed and liked anyone she still ate stuff this centaur was female and she was cooking something. The strange part about she still could do things despite being blind she could see through touch and smell and knew stuff all the same about the future the dreams usually show her what she want of the future if she keep track of everything that is.

Tess gripped the ground as she began to transform. It wasn't complete, she knew it not yet at least. She felt her bone cracking and breaking as she began to shrink in size. Her hair began to turn white and her eyes grew but retained their soft brown color. She smiled inwardly as she felt her clothes fall and she was there, so close. She felt her bones crack once more as paws were forming and she turned around a few times finding herself the white fox she was....except for a tail.

She groaned, well sounded more like a growl and once she broke the concentration she returned back to normal. She immediately slipped her clothes on, grumbling curses at herself for not succeeding yet. But that all stopped as she heard the crackling of fire and the smell of something came to her nose. She immediately picked up her remaining clothing and hid as she struggled to put them back on.

Merlin, you really can't practice at night can you she growled at the thought.

She shook her head trying to get her vision to normal.Honestly that's the thing that bothered her, it was too
sharp too bothersome. Once she got back to her normal look and so forth, she walked forward for some odd reason curious as to what the noise was about.

She peeked out to see that it was a centaur and her eyes widened. Merlin she'd never seen one before. She tried to stay quiet and not make it obvious she was there.

There were many creatures within the forest she was quiet and she was rather quiet that is.She listen she heard some sounds she heard the groan when one senses loss one sight the other senses she had could hear. She could hear her coming despite being blind she did that is moving at this point she was not sure what it was that is.

She had start to take a bit of the duck she had been cooking that is. What could one say with roast duck and she start to stand up with her and swallowing the meat part she had rise the duck up and was just eating roast duck. Then she liked other food as well she heard moment.

She grabbed for stick to see what it was and she knew that whatever it was it was going to prey that is. She did not know what it was. The strange part about the girl she was albino and that was rare and that they usually travel in groups and such things she poke at bush to see if it would make sound if she was right she thought she heard the sound of the brushes and what not she thought she heard something. She was eating what else could be said she had to wonder who was here and such thing she start toward the sounds. If it was such things she could run very fast she was known for her fast pace moment and no she had learn to be fleet foot liked that by watching unicorn and so she could run rather fast just as them. The girl had not identify herself and that what she plan to do identify it.

She was nervous, that was for sure. She had met only one creature before, and he had been running from his master now...now she heard things changing when it came to creatures. They were rebelling wanting to hurt wizards and witches and she admitted that she feared getting hurt.

Still, the female centaur looked...calm. She was awfully pretty, Tess could clearly see that. But something was off, she didn't know what it was, but she felt something. Her magical core was trying to read the surroundings, but still she felt herself curious.

"Excuse me" she called out.

She wondered if it was foolish of her to talk to a creature, perhaps it was not too late to run? She wondered, but knew it'd be foolish to run.

Most centaur look different slightly and she thought it was bear that invade her camp site that what she thought that is. She could tell if it was bear or some other wild life creature that lured with in the woods she thought bears that what her first thought was.She did not hear anything about war coming around creatures wises. Her herd abandon her thought she was useless in fight because she could not see and has been blind since her birth. That whatever it is it better say something so it some intelligent that it was not some mindless bear or some sortie that is.

At last the thing that she heard the sound that came from voice so it was intelligent enough to actually talk and she stared where she heard the voice that is. I thought I was not alone.Yes what is it? She asked with puzzlement she did not know anything about war she live her life isolation from others she learn to do things by herself and she still wonder why a student would be here in the forest after all it was called forbidden forest because there was still other creatures here that where dangerous and still they want to hunt them down in this war and she had no idea about in coming war. What will this accomplished if the war happened?She was rather quiet though that is she did not known anything about it still that is. But sometime she had dream telling of it and she just did not know her part about in the war that is if that is if the dream where real or not that is.

Perhaps she shouldn't have talked aloud. Yes perhaps might have to change to definitely shouldn't have talked. The centaur seemed to have tensed up and wondered if she had even heard her before. Probably not considering she called out loud to her. She was protected...she had her wand after all. And she decided that she would no longer be cowardly either. No she refused after all she was older and wiser and needed to be more outgoing.

"I am sorry to have bothered you during your.....meal" she said softly.

She bowed down, not knowing that the centaur was blind. After all, she knew it was the respectable thing to do when meeting a creature. At least that's what her mother taught her. She knew that in the ministry they had called creatures subhuman, not up to par towards wizards, but she knew from her previous meeting with a creature they were nearly the same.

She ignored the smell of the duck, poor thing, she thought as she placed her hands on her stomach.

She just sortie look at the sound voice she hope she was at that is she did not want her moving around the reason was simple because she was blind and might accident step on her that is. That is if she might make her present known to her she was afraid of what could happened she never meant to step on anyone and course seen the wand point at her. So she had no idea that she was point at her.She could not see her bow and she just watch but she could hear her moment.She had wonder if she front she hope was were came from and it was not some type of mean trick.

I'm Kaliepos. She thought best not tell her that she was blind that she could not see her in front of her she thought if she told her that she was blind that her personally might change and she was not sure that she could trust this girl and that is it had be girl right and from the voice right and still she listen at the sound of voice you could be little amazed at one could tell with the sound of the voice. Did the girl want something or something she did not know

. Maybe she should offer her duck leg but she had to eat that is and she was liked them some what in some aspect she had five finger and the only thing she was consider sub human. What she god because some knew the future and in aspect she knew the future but it was true one thing some time future was best unknown that she knew for sure because sometime it was best left unknown and with it some surprises.

She noticed something different about the centaur- no not centaur but Kaliepos. She corrected herself, not wanting to be rude. She felt that both were sizing each other up, but something was off. Considering that Kaliepos was only 5'6 and Tess being inches shorter, she looked up to see her eyes. For one thing they seemed blank, no expression.

Interesting

Still, since both were a few feet from each other, she felt somewhat safe. She smiled, not knowing that Kaliepos couldn't see and stuck her hand out. This was the first time she was sticking her hand out to a creature and she was nervous for she was initiating contact.

"I'm Tess" she replied. "Pleasure to make your acquaintance Kaliepos"

Cain was wondering through the fores when he thought that he saw a glimpse of a fire in the distance, and the smell of roasting meat in the air, wondering if it was a member of his heard that had gotten lost in the forest, he decided that he would go and check to see who it was and whether they were quite alright.

Making his way over to the light he saw that indeed it was a centaur, but he had not seen this one before, if only he knew her star, or her name, then he would be able to see what had happened to her, it looked as if she was talking to a student, who Cain himself had not met before.

Stepping through the bushes Cain now made himself visable and coughed lightly;

"Pardon me for intruding upon your conversation, but, I was wondering if you had gotten lost from your herd, for you do not strike me as a member of my own?" he asked the centaur "And you seem to have gotten lost from your dorm little one." Cain smiled at the student.

Kaliepos introduce herself she thought that was good thing. She could not see the hand in front of her and her expression was pretty blank the entire time she was pointing the wand at her. Maybe she could not see the wand but nothing but darkness within her eyes and that she was blind.

She was born this way blind and she heard something with four legs coming her way. Not sure what to make of it at the moment. She listen for the sound when it thought she heard it say something to her. That it was another centaur she did not think would come her way. She could not keep up with them and was thought as weak link of the herd being blind.

She turn as the centaur start to talk to her about his herd. She must be leader to come all the way here just look for her. Was she just that important she bit her lips as she thought about what he was saying.She was thinker and she usually thought thing out before she act on it. She start toward the girl just shake her hand before withdrawing back to her. It was sure lucky that she found it and that she figure that she was in front of her considering the voice.

You could say that I got lost. But I could have word you alone.She look back at the other centaur she came over to the male quietly closer and she whisper in his ears..My herd left because I am blind. They think I am weak link because of it. She did not want that student to know she was blind she thought she would do something mean to her.

Cain saw that the centaur seemed to be a little bit nervous about their presence here and he wondered why, of course being on her own she might be a little bit nervous having a human here, but the student seemed nice and she was not going to harm her, he certainly was not, despite the sword at his side, he only ever used that in case he was attacked, and he was not in this case.

"Of course you may." he said with a kindly smile "Excuse us for one moment." Cain added to the student, not wanting to seem as if he was ignoring her, that was not his intention.

Seeing that she was moving over to him to tell him something, he listened to her carefully, it was appauling that she had been left on her own because of something like this, and he hoped that it was not his herd that had done this to her, if it was, he would have to find out who was responsible.

"Well I assure you that is not the case in our herd, you are not a weak link, you are so very welcome to join my herd if you wish, I shall protect you, if you deem it needed, but nobody will be cruel to you, I give you my word." he said in a low voice, almost urging her to accept his offer.

Kaliepos no she did not know what was coming and when she heard the moment. First she thought it was unicorn or something. But still she had heard him coming. When said something it was relief that was not bear that came investigation the meal and such things.

She could not see the man expression listening to the man words. She could do other things if possible for the herd. She had learn to be slightly independent because of it and she could see in other method through touch alone and such things.

This man had to be the leader right or some form of the leader. She thought finally she had purposed oh good she thought he would not accept her for that small problem she had that is.Yeah that sounds good to me. I'll join your herd. She look back over at the man with low voice but she had her reason she was not going to do anything that could be why she was suspect of what she heard before but not she look back at the man.She accept it liked that she would join his herd but she moved back over the student not want to appear rude to the girl where she thought she stood looking at the spot where she thought the voice came from that is.

Oh hell she thought nervously.

She was surrounded by two centaurs, and while she hadn't done anything wrong, she knew she could easily mess up if she wasn't accustomed by their societal norms. But as Kaliepos shook her hand, she felt a small smile appear on her face, but dimmed a bit at her lack of facial expressions. Perhaps she was being to forward?

Still, she turned to notice the male centaur and she shook her head at his comment. It was true...she wasn't lost just....exploring. Yes that's what she told herself. She smiled softly and shook her head.

"I was exploring" she murmured.

Yes that was a lie, but who was going to catch her? Still seeing them both move aside to talk to one another made her a bit queasy. Perhaps she should leave, not mention this to anyone, after all creatures one needed to be wary of especially with the rumors circulating. She bit her bottom lip and took a few steps back.

With rumor came distrust among others then your own kind. She had wonder that why she was here to begin with that is. She heard other talk and such things. She became quiet looking back at the girl and such things.

It was not about her or anything bad about the girl nothing extremely bad. It was just something about something personally and she look back at the boy looking back at the boy.

She had gotten quiet she look back at the boy and such things.She look down and she had wonder why was she back in the school maybe Cain could tell her something.[color=blue]"Oh by the way my is Kaliepos" /color]She thought she introduce herself to him.

Then she look back over at the girl wonder why she was out here there was other place that where much safer then here she thought there was still unseen dangers.

Cain could sense that both the females were a little nervous at his presence, and he wondered if it was because he was a male or if it was because he had simply intruded on their conversation, hoping that he didn't cause them distress Cain smiled his usual lopsided smile.

"Excellent, I am very glad that you have made the decision to join me Kaliepos, I assure you I will do my best to make sure that you settle in well to your role." he smiled, so very happy to have a new member to his herd, and that Kaliepos wouldn't be alone.

Now looking to the student, Cain walked slowly back over to her, and looked at the sky, humming for a moment, he then looked back down at the girl;

"Greetings, explorer," he smiled softly "I am Cain, don't worry we mean you no harm, you should come and ask for me when you next enter here, it is a dangerous place to be on your own, there are many leithfolds here." he added.

It was nothing really she was not nervous she was starting to calm down. She was more liked that she was more nervous around the child that she knew what she was and such thing. She look back at the girl she was running out things to say her what to expect from her. She had wonder that why she was out here that is.

What role would that be that is? She had look back at the boy she was blank her expression puzzling over what her role. What could she do since she could not excellently see and her reason for blind was that she born blind that is.

Then she kinda wonder what Tess was looking for that is she heard moment from a far some other animal she went back to munching on her duck.Was she looking for something she did not know but she start to day dream and she close her eyes to the light quietly as it seemed to not matter the light never help her eyes.Thank you Cain. She told him but her mind went to other things.

Tess let out a tentative smile at the male centaur...no Cain. His name was Cain. He was very friendly and she felt herself giving out a more genuine smile at him. He was trying to protect her and she rubbed her arm softly in a way to comfort herself and forcing herself to calm down.

"Thank you Cain...I'm Tess McCartney" she whispered. "I'm sorry for fearing you....it was just...stupid of me." she smiled softer at his suggestion and nodded. "Thank you, you're both kind...perhaps I should go."

She waved softly and looked around trying to figure out just what way she came. The path she usually took was towards the southern part of Black Lake, and she began to walk towards the direction she thought.

Cain smiled at Kaliepos, he was glad to have such a nice member to his herd, hopefully he would be able to find her a job to do once they had arrived back at where the main herd was resting and divining, but right now he was worried about the child Tess, as she was called.

"People fear what they do not understand, it is of no problem to me whether you feared me or not, but know we will do no harm to you, if you should ever return to the forest, I should like to speak with you and hopefully find out your star to divine your future."

With a small smile Cain watched her as she turned and started away from him, he didn't want to let her go unprotected, but he knew that there were some centaurs that way also, that would help her if it was needed, after all, he put his best men on guard for his herd's safety.

"Farewell Tess, and may your stars be bright until our next meeting."

Then turning to Kaliepos, he asked; "From where do you hail? If you are not from our clan how do you come to be at Hogwarts?" his tone was not accusing, it was merely interested.

Kalliepos had wonder what her function being that she could not see that is. Some what she was thinking of some thing she had read that is.She had to agree with that quote that is when one does not think on her own.

Small is the number of people who see with their eyes and think with their minds.That is from book I read that is. That is you can't really discrimination when it came sub human one can't if one can't see with her eyes that is.She read it in book for the blind that is. Just because she could not see right did not mean she could read through touch that is.

Well guard she could not do well if she could not see what it was she was guarding that is.Well her herd travel a bit they where always moving around. Well I been all around England forest. My herd travel a bit all around.Then when I got older they decide it was best to leave me. They thought it was best and so start to start traveling around I learn few things by listening to how muggle trap animals.Then finally made to this forest where I meet you. Of course those muggle never saw her she was just too fast for them to catch up to see what it was and such things.

Cain turned to Kaliepos when she spoke to him about something that she had read in a book, it was odd that a Centaur had managed to read any book at all let alone a centaur who could not see. Wondering for a moment where she would have gotten the book from, Cain merely smiled.

"Such a statement is very true although I hope that I could show you that I am certainly one of those people, or, I at least attempt to be." he smiled with a little bit of a bow.

Listening to what she said when she told him that she had been all over England, Cain was amazed by the fact that she was still alive and had not managed to be spotted by humans.

That was a feat indeed when many centaurs with sight get spotted so frequently, but then again, it might make her more cautious than she would have been otherwise.

"I see, well I am very impressed, you certainly must have learnt some good skills while you were on your own, perhaps you will be able to teach them to the younger centaurs." he smiled.

Kaliepos look toward Cain she became silent she was not even sure she could offer. Then she listen to the boy looking back at the voice listening to the boys. Then she merely smile at the boy and she look back at the boy watching him.

She had wonder what could be said she looking back at the boys.Well she did not know if she was spot but if they where spot people would think they where crazy she would be there one minute then gone. She was rather fast she had learn to those four legs that where fast. That is she rather fast and that was one key to way she live and such things.

I am not sure what I could teach them that would be useful. But I learn a bit trapping but sometime I did not catch anything.It was pretty hard life that is living without a herd.She look back at the guy watching him and she look back at the boy and she look back at the boy watching him.

Cain smiled lightly, of course there were things that Kaliepos could teach the heard and he wanted to make sure that she knew exactly how much use she could be, she didn't seem to have a very high opinion of herself and he hoped to change that over time.

"Well that is just one of the things that you can teach them, I imagine that you are very adapt at surivival techniques having to live on your own for so long, I am sure that all of the herd would benefit from listening and learning from your advice."

Holding out his hand in the direction that the herd lay in, even if she couldn't see it, Cain asked her with a kind tone to his voice; "Do you want to come with me to the herd, or would you rather wait a while longer and finish your meal?"

He did not want to rush the female centaur, he wanted her to be comfortable in coming to see her new herd.

Kaliepos could not help herself the reason was simple they point everything that was wrong with her. She could not help to concluded that she could not be any help but when left her she learn to do thing other wise death that is.

That is she adapt some survived way and such things.She had to and such things.She did some fishing and sometime she learn how to do if that trap fell but it took forever and such things.Somewhat. Then she look back at the boy and she look back at the man.

She took the man hand she held on to him she look back at the boy.I'm quiet full thank you. She want to see this herd to know what there reaction would be and that why she took his hand she want to see his herd and was steam with curious.
