Damien had always been a jerk that was always the way he was raised but he discovered over the last few days maybe it would be best if he just left everyone alone. Heck after a few days no one would even miss him.

During the summer it felt like everything was perfect, he had been able to say away from Tabi for awhile and that was a great thing. All they ever did was get on each others nerves anymore. They used to be the best of friends, he always connected for with Tabi than Leshia, but him and Tabi had more of the same things in common. He learned early on the only reason they had so many things in common was because she was being trained to be the perfect wife for him. He didn't even want a wife. He always like to be a flirt he wanted the woman to love him he didn't want to love the woman.

Somewhere over the last year those feelings started to change. Even though he was almost 12 he had been through and seen enough to know when he had feelings. Over the summer he had met this beautiful angel he thought she was so perfect and there was just something about her that made him want to be around her more and more. He had talked to her for quite awhile and there were many things about her he could tell were just like himself, and maybe that was the problem. He knew she was broken and shy and he wanted so much to fix her and bring her out of her shell, but when he got to Hogwarts this all changed.

When he left her at the lake that day he was so excited to see her at Hogwarts, he had even looked for her on the train but he could find her. He had finally found a compartment that had Leshia Prewett in it. At least it was someone he knew. And in that compartment was a friend that Leshia had made over the summer by the name of Tessa Grey and when he discovered that she was blind it thought this would be the perfect girl to annoy all year and even piss her off. He hadn't liked her, found her to be odd. The perfect target of his annoyance.

School had started and he still had not be able to find his angel but he kept looking, he took a lot of classes just looking for her. But he never found her, but he did find this Tessa happened to be in all of these classes. So he decided what a perfect opportunity to annoy her and poke at the point that she was blind and wouldn't be able to do the classes.

It was not until potions class that he had found his Angel, but when he went to talk to her after she picked up the other girls wand she ignored him. It was almost like she didn't know who he was. He thought at that point maybe she changed her mind.

So from that point forth he decided to put all his strength into annoying Tessa, but then when it seemed Tessa enjoyed his annoying and arguing something clicked with her. It wasn't the electric shock that happened with his Angel, but it was something.

So during the last week he had physically hurt Tabi, which he had never done, hurt Tessa when she found out about Tabi, then he had heard rumor that his Angel was mad at him and hurt because she had seen him kiss Tessa.

He was so confused at his life, what was the point to go on if everyone around you hated you, or if you kept hurting the people you cared about. He would make it so easy on everyone around him if he was just gone. Also if he was gone Tabi and him would not have to find a way around the marriage contract, he would have taken care of it himself.

Damien finally made it to the spot by the lake where he sat. He had taken off his shoes and had just placed his feet in the water, debating on what to do.

Tessa decided that she was going to take Yasmina down to the lake for a walk. But Yasmina had other plans, she then got away and left Tessa standing there. She then started to yelled for her but she wouldn’t' come back to her. This was something that Yasmina has never done before. And she would always listen to Tessa when she said something. She wondered what was wrong with her today. But she just sat down where she was. She really didn't want to walk by herself done by the lake. All the memories where she fell in and couldn't swim was coming back to her. And that scared her all the time. Tessa then started to think that Yasmina would come back to her soon. But it seemed that Yasmina went down and found Damien. She then latched onto part of his pants and was trying to drag him to where she wanted him to go.

Damien was thinking about swimming out into the lake when he felt a tug on his pants, and when he looked down he saw Yasmina pulling on his leg.

"Yas go on, I don't want to see her right now" Damien told the dog, but apparently the dog was not going to listen to him.

"Yas are you trying to tell me shes hurt do I need to follow you" Damien didn't want to see Tessa hurt, but the dog was pretty persistent.

"Alright Yas lead me where I need to dog. Then he followed the dog over to where he saw Tessa sitting on the ground.

"Are you ok, you dang dog insisted that I follow her?" Damien said pretty rudely.

Tessa looked like she hadn't had a good night sleep for days. Yasmina then walked over to Tessa and licked her on the cheeks. As if telling her that she was going to fix everything. But Tessa knew that this wasn't something that could be fix easily.

She then started to sigh. “ Sorry about that, it seems like she has her own mind.” Tessa could tell that Damien didn't want to be around her right now. “ I think I better just go.”

"Maybe that would be the wise choice." Damien went to turn away from her. Just because he was in one of his self pitying moods didn't mean he wanted her to be hurt.

"Yes it is apparent that at least the dog thinks I am a good guy when the rest of the school thinks I am a arse." Damien started to walk back to where he was and left her with her dog and herself..

Tessa was just sitting her, she brought her knees up to her chest. She really didn’t' know why she was feeling this way. But she hated it. She knew that she was feeling empty and wanted something to fill it with you something.

“ I guess goodbye then.”

"Yes, goodbye then."

Damien was really not in the mood to talk to her, she was part of the reason that he was out here.

There was one person that he wanted to talk too at the moment and he gathered that person would ever come out to the lake.

Tessa could not make up her mind what she wanted and of course Damien was not making it any easier.

Damien went back over to the spot he was sitting and stared back at the lake. Why couldn't things ever go the way he wanted them too.

Tessa stood up and was going to get ready to leave. But Yasmina had other plans. She then grabbed Damien pants leg and started to pull him closer to Tessa. It seemed like Yasmina wasn’t going to let Damien or her leave.

“ Yasmina stop, he doesn’t want me around and I have things that I need to do.” But it seemed like she wasn’t going to listen. She knew that he properly didn’t want to see her ever again.

Damien looked down at this dog that was trying to stop him. The normal Damien would have kicked the creature if it would not have been Tessa's guide dog.

He bent down to be level with the dog and then whispered.

"Yas, you have to look out for Tessa for me ok, its not going to work out with the two of us so you have to let us be." After that he stood up and walked away.

Looking back he saw Yas looking at him like she was confused so Damien just did a shoo sign and told her to go back to Tessa.

Yasmina sat there whinny. Hoping that he would go back over to Tessa. She then started to look at when she head her puppy. Yasmina was hoping that Tessa would walk over and make up with Damien. “ Yasmina? What is wrong?” She then got up and started to walk towards her puppy cry.

But when she did, her foot found a hole and she tripped. She then realized that she was in Damien's arms.

Damien could not believe this girl. He had attempt to walk away on to find that she went to walk and Tessa trip. Damien's first reaction was to catch her so she would not fall on her face.

Damien why can't this girl and her dang dog just leave he alone to his misery.

Damien set he back on her feet. "Why can't you and you dumb dog, see I just want to be left alone. I have screwed up enough people lives and just wished to be left alone."

Damien tried once again to get away from them.

She had practically told him she should be with him any more, during his break he went out of the area and flirted with some girl he didn't know and got her in trouble with her boyfriend. Then he finds out he broke the one he called his Angel, he broke her heart and he hadn't even known she liked him.

Why could he not be left to his own self pity.

Tessa was both hurt and shocked. " She isn't a DUMB dog because it looks like I am looking at a bim." She was now starting to get angry. " I hope that I never have to see you again. After I talk to my parents and tell that I just want out of this school."

She then grabbed Yasmina and started to head back up to the castle.

When Damien heard her say that she wanted to leave the school, that wasn't what he wanted. This is the perfect place for her. No other school could offer what they offer.

Damien just fell to the ground and started crying, he was so confused with himself. He wanted this girl but he didn't want to hurt her any more.

"Tessa I am so sorry, I never meant for this." Damien said really low in between his crying.

Tessa smiled. “ I don’t' even know my blood status.” She then paused. “ For a while I had no idea that I was a witch.

She then sat down beside of Damien and hugged him. Tessa then decided that she would sing the verse that they would sing to her when she was in a orphanage.

“ If everyone cared and nobody cried. If everyone loved and nobdoy lied. If everyone shared and swallowed their pride. Then we'd see the day when nobody would die.”

Damien felt her sat down next to him, he was for sure she had pushed her away hard enough this time she wasn't coming back.

He was a little thrown when she mentioned her blood status. "I have never really cared about that" Damien said through sobs.

He could not believe that this beautiful creature still wanted him and that is what made her different that Alcyone, she didn't seem to want him.

Next thing he knew she started to sing to him, and he had heard the night before she had the most amazing voice he had ever heard.

He laid his head down in her lap and listened to her sing then he had to ask.

"Why do you care for me so much, I am such a loser."

Tessa smiled as she finished the little bit. She then started to play with his hair. Tessa knew that this always made her feel better. “ There is something about you, that I can't even describe.” She then started to laugh when he thought that it was about her blood status. “ That was from a muggle song.”

She smiled. “ Because there is something that I love about you.” Tessa then reached into her pocket and was grinning. “ Oh I have muggle tape for you.”

Damien was relaxing as she was running her fingers through his hair.

"Muggle song it was very nice, so was the one you sang last night too." He wasn't sure if she knew he had heard her or not.

"But how can you love me, I have been such a jerk to you since the moment I have met you." Damien could not say yet that he loved her but he did like and care for her a lot.

Damien took the muggle tape she was handing him and he started pulling it out until it was all stuck to his hand and his hair.

"This stuff is all sticky."

Tessa smiled when she could tell that Damien was enjoying it.

She smiled. “ It is from the group Nickelback. That one I just sang a little bit was If everybody care. And last night I think that was Gotta be somebody.” Tessa had no idea that he was even listening to her. But she really didn't care.

“ Everybody deserves another chance.” She couldn't explain why she couldn't leave him. Tessa knew that she didn’t' want to leave him again.

Tessa couldn't help but laugh. “ Of course it is sticky, I told you that it was to tape.” She then ran her finger through this hair and found it was stuck in her. “ Ok I am going to have to rip it out.”

Damien had no idea what she was talking about when she mentioned the music group. He just let her talk.

Damien could not believe she talked about giving him a second chance, he didn't think he deserved it.

"So how many second chances are you planing on giving me, I have already had like four." Damien smiled he was laying on his back with his face

Damien was watching Tessa try to get the tape out of his hair.

"What do you mean yank it out, I rather like my hair."

Tessa smiled. “ Yes I know you have no idea what these muggle groups are. But they are good.”

She laughed. “ I really have no idea how many. As many as you need.” Yasmina then started to lick Damien's face.

She sighed. “ There is no other way.” She then pulled it out of his hair.

Damien could not believe that Tessa was willing to give him as many chances that he needed.

"Why are you willing to let me hurt you over and over again, do you love me that much?" He just could not understand why Tessa would let herself get hurt like that over and over again.

Damien had vowed that he would do his best not to hurt her anymore.

That was when she started pulling the tape out of his hair.

"Ouch..Ouch..that hurts." Damien smiled at her.

"By the way I would like to thank you, I was sitting over at the lake ready to end it all." Damien said quietly he was really embarrassed with himself that he was thinking of killing himself over everything.

Tessa smiled. “ A very wise professor told me that I should forgive you, because I don't understand what it is to be like an old wizarding family. So that is why I decided to give you as many chances as you need.”

“ I am sure that my sister Salina is going to make sure that doesn't happen. She is very protective of me.” She then paused. “ That could be because I am their baby sister.”

She then was laughing. “ Be glad that it wasn't gum in your hair, that really hurts.” Tessa was sure that he knew what chewing gum was.

Tessa then started to blink. “ Why would you want to kill yourself? I am not worth it, you could have found someone better than me.”

Damien listened to her talk about the professor that told her about old Wizarding families.

"I would assume that Professor was Professor Slytherin, she is from the oldest wizarding families I know." Damien was enjoying Tessa playing with his hair if if she was pulling a little. "You will never understand them I promise you that. I don't even understand them."

He was in shock when she said Salina was her sister. "I didn't realize that Salina was your sister. Leshia talked about her all summer. She was so worried about her."

When she was asking Damien why he would want to kill himself over her, and that she wasn't worth it he couldn't believe it.

"I was tired of hurting everyone that I tried to care about and I thought that everyone would be better off without me."

Tessa smiled. “ Yes it was Professor Slytherin, I went up there just to show her Yasmina. And we ended up talking about you.” She then laughed. “ I know I don't understand your pruebloods, but I would love to see you learn about muggle back in the middle ages. It is sort of the same thing, they would marry in that family. After the tape was out she kissed the top of his head. “ Now I am never letting you play with tape again.” She then started to laugh.

“ That is because Salina is my adoptive older sister. She was actually the first one to be adopted. I know she been trying to get to know me better.”She smiled. “ I can see why Leshia would be worried about her. She is special in her own little way .

She sighed a little bit. “ You might not see it. But life is precious to throw away.” Tessa then started to smile. “ If you would have done that, I would have been upset. Because I wouldn't have you in almost all of my classes.”

Damien didn't know if he should be honored or offend that she spoke about him to Professor Slytherin, but at least she wasn't going anywhere any more. He would just have to try and be different for her. Maybe not completely different he was still a Slytherin and he couldn't be tamed that easily by a Gryffindor.

It seemed like it took her forever to get the tape out of his hair, he didn't really think it was all that bad, maybe she just wanted to play with his hair. The she kissed his forehead and he couldn't help but laugh she was always sweet to him even when he can be a complete arse.

"Well you need to tell your sister that she needs to talk to Leshia, I mean she is all upset that she never even sees her in the dorm room. Apparently Salina was her rock last year, I think Leshia felt like a twin with her two, so when Salina lost her twin to that coma, she left the other one out in the cold. I think Leshia doesn't feel whole."

Damien was wondering when Tessa was going to ask him how he knew so much about Leshia, but he didn't know.

"I thought you didn't like that I was in so many of your classes?" He laughed
