Lesson Two - Third Years Empty Lesson Two - Third Years

Post by Briony Romain Mon Apr 30, 2012 6:11 pm

Briony had been pleased last lesson with the amount of people that she had signing up for the classes after class time in order to make their duelling skills even better and sharper, although she was certain that she could get more students to join if she opened the club up to other years.

Sitting at her desk she sighed lightly, she wasn't going to be able to do much this lesson because of the rather large baby bump that she was now sporting, and she hoped that she would be able to make it through this bout of teaching without anything happening.

Opening the door to her classroom, Briony sat behind her desk and waited for her students to arrive.

Lesson Two - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Third Years

Post by Parker Emery Mon Apr 30, 2012 7:20 pm

Parker meekly walked into class, his head lowered. Due to events of the past week he had hardly been able to pull himself from his room. He hardly had the will to go to classes this time, but he knew he couldn't miss two lessons. He looked so tired as he sat down in his seat, wanting to rest his head down.

He held onto his bag as he set it on his desk. He sighed, still mentally debating if he should talk to the headmistress or the councilor....but she had so much going on already, and he didn't know the councilor. He sighed, resting his head down, wanting to just curl back into bed. None of this was fair at all.

Lesson Two - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Third Years

Post by Airen Auditoren Mon Apr 30, 2012 10:31 pm

Airen entered the classroom. He sat down down at the front of the class, albeit some what tired, but still ready to work. He vaguely remembered the dream he had last night that caused him to have a rough night last night. It wasn't a bad dream, but it did give him a start. It was a room with two cloaked figures. There was talking...

Jolting out of his thoughts, Airen got out his supplies. He smiled up at the professor.

"Good morning, Professor," he greeted.

Lesson Two - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Third Years

Entering the classroom, she felt like she had a new form on confidence. For her the apprenticeship was more than just improving with weapons, but also helping boost up your confidence. She let out a grin as she saw the Headmistress

"Morning Headmistress" she said softly.

She walked over and when she was going to sit down, she felt a sad aura around her. Airen looked as normal as ever but Parker looked...droopy?

She sat down beside him and patted his back tentatively.

"You okay there Sparks?" she murmured softly.

Haley walked into the Dueling classroom and was on her way up to the front when her eyes landed on Parker. He looked... Sad. She looked to the front and then back to Parker again, and walked over to him, sitting down. She could pay attention from this spot too.

"Hey," she said softly, "How are you?"

He didn't look great. He was pale like a sheet. She sighed, and hoped it wasn't too bad, though she had a feeling her prayers ran short.

She gave a small smile to Tess as well, still very grateful about the whole Prison Tower happening.

Parker had closed his eyes, and didn't notice when Tess walked in. He heard her as she sat down, but didn't move. When she pat his back gently asking if he was okay, he opened his eyes, looking at her. He nodded a little bit, wordless at the moment. He didn't want to be a downer all the time, but he just felt like a lot was going on. He was sure that with time he'd be fine...or at least he really wanted to just be fine.

Hearing another person sit at his other side, he pushed himself up a little bit, raising his head up and looking over to see Haley. He again just gave another nod, followed by a soft, "Yeah."

He sat up straight, stretching and sighing, before slumping down again.

Tess smiled back softly to Haley as she entered. She felt like she knew her better after the prison incident. It was good to know someone a bit better. She looked at the door wondering if Victoria might appear, she'd been missing recently.

But her smile dimmed a bit seeing Parker's dampened mood. He looked tired, almost sickly and she wondered why.

"You can talk to us you know" she said softly. "If you need to talk, we can after class"

She felt bad for Parker. He was usually shy but always cheery, now it seemed like he had become a polar opposite. She bit her bottom lip and frowned.

He looked back over at Tess, but looked down when he saw her smile dim. He didn't want to make anyone else upset because of how he was feeling.

Parker shrugged and shook his head a bit, speaking softly, "No, I'm fine, really....I'm just a bit..sick is all." he said, though it sounded half hearted.

He looked between her and Haley again, and saw the concern on Tess's face. "Please, don't worry. I'll be fine..." he said, a slight tone of pleading in his voice.

Tess was going to push more, but his tone was different. She looked at the Headmistress and hoped that she'd notice, or something. Parker did look sickly but not really physically, looked more emotional. He looked dead tired, but his tone was not out of exhaustion, that she knew.

"Right, right...sorry" she murmured and turned back to face the front ad she nibbled her lip nervously.

Briony stood up and sighed looking over the students, it seemed as if this was it for the time being, not that she minded she just wondered if she would be able to teach the class well given her state.

Clapping her hands Briony looked pointedly at the three Slytherins; "I might be pregnant but I am not deaf, please use your out of class time for talking and what not. Co-incidently, Parker, see me after class. I need to speak with you."

With that Briony cleared away the desks and looked at her students;

"You are going to do what you FAILED to do last week, duel. Pick a partne and duel, if there is an odd number do not ask me to go in a three just do it." she barked "No spells that we haven't learnt in our lessons, or it will result in points being taken from your house. The winner of each duel will get a prize."

Haley felt a bit worried about Parker, she didn't believe that he was okay. He looked lethally tired. An exaggeration, yes, but still, he really didn't look good. She was about to say something when Briony spoke up. She sighed and looked at her, hearing her instructions. She straightened up when the tables were cleared. She then gave Parker a pat on his shoulder. "I'm gonna pair up with Airen," she said and walked up to the guy.

"Hey, I'll duel you," she said with a smile, taking out her wand, "Ready?" she asked him.

Tess was a bit surprised at the firmness of the Headmistress. Perhaps it wasn't the best time to talk considering she felt as if she messed up with Parker. Oh Merlin, he was now being forced to talk to the Headmistress. She knew that while the Headmistress had a tough exterior, she was kind when it was one and one, and hoped Parker wouldn't be too mad at being forced to talk to her.

"Sorry, I guess you're paired off with me" she said softly. "You can hex me if need be"

She grinned a bit trying to get him to cheer up. She got up and waited for him to do the same so dueling could begin.

Lesson Two - Third Years Empty Re: Lesson Two - Third Years

Post by Airen Auditoren Thu May 03, 2012 2:33 pm

Airen looked up at the professor as she explained the class's directions. He looked up as Haley came over to him. He remembered her as part of the whole ball ambush fiasco in first year. Admittedly, Airen ahd been distant from most others on account of him being shy, which was ironic considering that he could beat any of them in a one-on-one sword fight.

"Hey, Haley. Ready when you are," Airen said, whipping out his wand. He adopted a battle stance that somewhat resembled the traditional fencing stance, except that his wand arm was poised behind his head like a scorpion's tail. His other arm loosely pointed outward at Haley.

"Ladies first?" he offered.

Post by Parker Emery Thu May 03, 2012 6:26 pm

Parker's eyes drew over to the headmistress when she stood up. Finally, class would begin. He hung his head a bit when she pointed them out for talking, but when she said to talk to her after class, he looked up at her again, his eyes widened slightly. He wanted to groan, hating being pointed out like that. He wanted to just...sink into the floor and just disappear or something. Though he had thought about talking to her, but not about him..getting in trouble or whatever it was she may have picked up on to talk to him about. It choked him up just to think about.

he looked down as she snapped at them to get on with the lesson, to duel. He furrowed his eyebrows, it was such a weak point for him...he didn't think he could react fact enough to be able to pull off anything...

He looked at Haley when she pat his shoulder. He nodded when she said she was going to pair with Airen. And watched her as she started to walk away.

Parker tried to smiled a little bit after Tess had smiled and said they were paired off together. He shook his head a bit when she said he could hex her. "I'm awful at this- "

Tess frowned a bit at his comment. She loved dueling but seeing something act to glum just, it wasn't in the spirit. She sighed and decided that this was definitely not going to be fun. She knew that the Headmistress wanted them to duel, and it meant no funny business.

"I'll go easy on you then" she said half heartedly.

She waited for him to get up and figured she'd start. Awkwardly she waved her wand and said.

"Ladies first~" and with that she let out her first spell. "'Rictusempra"

She knew that the tickling charm might be light enough to motivate Parker.

Haley grinned at Airen and gave a little bow. "If you insist," she said sweetly.

She liked Airen. She didn't know him at all, but he seemed very nice and, she didn't know how to word it... Maybe proper? Yeah, that's the one. He was nice and proper, he knew how to behave and all that, and the whole gallant thing he had going was good fun. She liked him. She really want to get to know him better, really, she wouldn't want to graduate from Hogwarts without being a friend.

"Everte Statum!" she said firmly, pointing directly at him.

Airen smirked at Haley in response. He nodded his head.

When she cast her spell, Airen did something odd. Rather than dodge or block, he stood still and let the spell hit him. He flew off his feet and flipped backward in the air. He twisted his body so his feet were under him. He landed on his feet, chuckling at the rush he felt. He snapped his head up to look at Haley.

"My turn," he said. "Serpent Sortia. Rictusempra."

A cobra shot out of his wand toward Haley, with the tickling curse following closely behind.
