Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Jacqueline Girard Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:07 pm

Jacqueline Girard stood outside the gamekeeper's hut, clutching her coat tighter around her. It was a cold day, and though there was little wind, the air was stiff from chill. Jacqueline ran a gloved hand over her hair which was pulled back into a ponytail and she checked her watch. There was a few minutes until her class started, and she was excited for the first lesson. She had something exciting to show the first years, and she hoped they would appreciate the effort that she went too.

She was also very nervous for her first lesson, for she had never taught before, only trained. She muttered soothing French words under her breath to calm herself down, and it worked well. She checked her watch and saw her lesson would start in five minutes.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Corinne Girard Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:15 pm

Corinne looked down at her watch and begrudgingly decided that she should probably head down to Care of Magical Creatures.
Jaqui would never forgive her if she missed her lesson. Actually, she would but she would be very hurt and Corinne was in a good mood today/ confused mood today, so she found herself wandering down to where she could see her sister all bundled up and ready for the lesson.
"Salut, Jaqui," Corinne was the first one there, so she resorted to speaking French. "Ça va?" She asked, hoping that her sister was in a good mood today. An icy breath of wind brushed against Corinne's skin and she shivered violently.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Salina walked with a spring in her step down to Care of Magical Creatures, excited to see what her sister had in store for the lesson. She felt like a different person since she had met Leshia, a better person, but when she spied her twin with her sister she gnawed on her lip. She hadn't spoken to Corinne yet, and she didn't really feel like conversing with her twin, so she slowed right down and casually pretended to look for something in her bag whilst she waited for more people to arrive to the lesson.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Alice Carroll Lane Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:46 pm

Alice made her way down the path through the grounds to her first class of the day, Care of Magical Creatures. Tess had already told her that mermaids and giant squid were very real so Alice was eager to see what creatures she would encounter in this class.

As she approached she noticed that the three girls spoke with heavy accents and seemed to be conversing with each other in another language, so she hoped that she wasn't interfering. She adjusted her satchel and raised her head high to boost her confidence. As she came closer to the trio she let loose a large, friendly smile.

Salina turned her head as Alice came along and as she smiled, Salina smiled back and decided to greet her instead of getting stuck in an awkward conversation with her sœurs. "'Allo, my name ees Salina, what ees yours?" Salina asked, holding out her hand for Alice to shake. The lesson still had a few minutes before it started.

"Salut, Corinne. Oui, ça va. Je suis juste nerveux, c'est tout," she checked her watch and saw it was time for the lesson, and was annoyed to see that many of her students were still missing from the lesson, so she decided to wait a little longer.
"I know zat eet ees time for ze lesson, but we will wait a few more minutes before starting ze lesson," Jaqueline said, saving her introduction speech for when more of the class had arrived. She'd wait 5 more minutes and then she'd begin the lesson.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Guest Mon Jan 09, 2012 2:24 pm

At first Leshia was not going to take Care of magical creatures but when she found out that her roomate was going to take the class she decided that maybe the class would not be all that bad.

Leshia was walking down the path towards the class and as she rounded the last curve she saw Salina talking to Alice the girl she had met earlier in Potions. She heard the teacher say something in French that she didn't actually catch but she was trying to remember how Salina said she was related to this teacher.

She thought she would surprise Salina so she walked up behind her and bumped her arm slightly.
"Thought I would surprise you, didn't want to face this interesting class all alone. Hey Alice how is it going?"

Salina nearly jumped out of her skin when Leshia bumped her arm against hers, and whirled around to see it was just her. "You scared me, Leshia!" Salina said with a laugh, before turning back to Alice.
"I deedn't theenk you were taking zis class," Salina turned her head to Leshia as she conversed with her. "I was so worried zat I would have to take it all by mine self, and face ze 'orrible seester's all on my own!" Salina dramatically placed a hand on her forehead, grinning the whole time.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Jacqueline Girard Mon Jan 09, 2012 2:49 pm

At the arrival of her fourth students, Jaqui decided to begin the lesson, and she cleared her throat loudly so that the students would cease their chatter. "'Allo, students. My name ees Professor. Girard, and something you should know ees zat I will not tolerate foolishness in zis class! You may ask me any questions after I 'ave finished talking. Today, we will be splitting into two groups. I will choose your groups," Jaqui beamed at the students. "Each group is going to learn about a different magical beast, and 'ow to take care of zem. Firstly, ze groups," Jaqui looked at the students.

"We will 'ave, you and you," Jaqui pointed at Salina and Leshia. "In a group, and you two in a group," her Maman had told her about when she had gone to Hogwart's, and Slytherin and Gryffindor had been ultimate rivals. She wanted to see if that was still true, though she wasn't sure if putting her devillish sister with a Gryffindor was a great idea.

"Salina and Leshia, you are group one, and Corinne and Alice, you are group two," Jaqui then clapped her gloved hands together excitedly. "Alright, follow me," said Jaqui, leading them around the back of the gamekeepers hut, where there were two creatures. Both were in pens with charms around it to repel the animals from the edges of it so they could not escape, and the pens had walls and rooves above them made of wiring. There were gates into each pen.

"You are to examine your animal and record how it acts and what it looks like, zen hand zis sheet up to me at the end of the lesson, do you understand?" Jaqui didn't wait for a response. "Group one in ze one of ze left, Group two ze right. Oh and, please do not 'arm ze animals. Zey are not dangerous, but if you provoke zem, zey may attack," said Jaqui, and motioned for them to go inside.

[Group 1: The crup, is a creature that is most definitely loyal to wizards and witches, and fiercely aggressive towards Muggles. The crup looks like a jack russel terrier in appearance, save for a forked tail instead of a normal one. It is playful and friendly, and enjoys having sticks thrown for it. There are various bones and sticks located inside your 'tent' for you to throw for it and observe how it moves. You can make up little traits that you think it should have]

[Group 2: The Fire Crab, looks much like a tortoise with a jewelled and beautiful shell. The Fire Crab shoots flames from its rear end when it feels threatened, or is startled by something. You are to record what the shell looks like, and what can frighten it. There are a few toys that slightly resemble predators, and some plants and meat, for you to test out and see what it enjoys to eat. Make up what it eats]

Salina grinned at Leshia when her sister announced that they would be in the same group, before turning her attention back to Professor. Girard.

They followed after Prof. Girard as she led them around the back of a hut that looked old and like it would collapse any moment, where two tents where set up. She listened with interest to what the teacher had to say, and found herself excited at what animal her and Leshia would have. She looked to the tent to the left and nudged Leshia, leaning in to whisper, "Wonder what our animal ees."

Finally, Prof. Girard stopped talking, and they were free to go inside. "Let's go," Salina tugged on Leshia's arm and dragged her over to their tent excitedly, opening it up and slipping inside. She held the door open for Leshia, and once it was shut she turned around and was confronted with a bunch of cute little-

"Crups!" She squealed, clapping her hands. "I always wanted one of zese, but Maman says zat zey are ugly!" Salina pulled her parchment and quill out of her bag and sat down, dipping her quill in the ink pot and beginning to scribble down the crup's appearance.

The Crup is a white dog with brown markings across it, that closely resembles the, Salina paused her writing and looked up at Leshia. "Zere is zat dog, what ees eet called? It looks like a crup, but eet ees not!" Salina scratched her forehead. She had never been good with breeds of animals names.

"This is the second lesson i've been late to, and I completely missed my potions lesson!" Pxyis grumbled as she ran down the lawn towards the gameskeeper's hut, where she could see the group vanish behind it. She slowed down as she reached the hut and managed to stop at a walk, pausing to catch her breath before she made her way around the corner of the hut to where the group was.
Two girls from the group split off and went into one of the tents, the other group going into the other tent. Pxyis ran up to the teacher who she believed was Professor. Girard, guilt on her face. "You have my deepest apologies for my tardiness, Professor," Pxyis panted, still puffed from running all the way down here.

Jacqueline turned at the sound of a girl's voice and looked down at a girl with strange, grey eyes mixed with blue and wavy blonde hair. She was apologizing profusely for being late and Jaqui laughed. "Eeet ees alright, Miss.. Pxyis eesn't eet?" Jaqui said with a small smile. "Go into ze tent on ze right," Jaqui had asked her to join the tent with Corinne in case she decided to have a hissy fit at the Gryffindor girl.

"Oh and, Pxyis, please do not be late again, or I will 'ave to let ze 'ead mistress know," said Jaqui, before turning her back and dismissing Pxyis.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Alice Carroll Lane Mon Jan 09, 2012 4:53 pm

Alice took Salina's hand in her own. "My name's Alice," She replied.

She then turned to heard Prof. Girard's explanation of the lesson that day. Her heart sank a little bit when she realized she had been paired up with the Slytherin. She was hoping that Leshia would be able to be her partner again. Alice sighed and decided that she might as well work with the Slytherin, as long as the girl didn't try to pull anything nasty. Alice wondered if this was the one that Tess had told her about earlier.

"My name's Alice," She whispered to her partner as the four separated into their respective groups.

She listened attentively as Prof. Girard explained what the Fire Crab did. The idea of flames coming out of the creature's behind intrigued and amused her all in the same. She let loose a little chuckle at the idea (she was only eleven after all!) but composed herself so as not to loose more points from her house.

She saw another Slytherin bound into the class late as the groups departed to examine their creatures. Alice eagerly leaned up close to the animal, focusing on the designs on the back. "I can't say I've ever seen one of these before." She commented. "Though I'm glad that we had this one over the Crups. Wouldn't get along to well with my family."

Post by Guest Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:34 pm

Leshia was about to say something to Salina when the Professor spoke up she she thought she better off it, she did not want to get in trouble in this class.

As the walked around with Salina to the back as she whispered to me "Wonder what our animal ees." Leshia had to admit she was very curious as to what it would be.

As Salina held the door open for her she could not believe the creature that was inside. She had heard about these things but has never actually seen one.

Looking over the creature Leshia thought it best that she pull out her own parchment and quill and start to write down the assignment.

Leshia wrote this thing sort of looks like a dog it is all white, with brown spots as Leshia finished writing that down Salina popped in a question "Zere is zat dog, what ees eet called? It looks like a crup, but eet ees not!"

Leshia thought about this "Didn't the teacher say something about it looking like a terrier, those little yippy dogs I like to call them. They are very annoying and noisy."

Leshia was trying to think of something special that they could do. "You know what I bet you that tail would be perfect for catching food. All they would have to do is strike their food with it to knock them out. What do you think?"

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Corinne Girard Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:37 pm

Corinne's eyes snapped upwards in disbelief when Prof. Girard said that she was to be paired with the Gryffindor. She took a sideways glanced at the girl, and noticed she wasn't too pleased with the idea other, disappointment written all over her face.
Be nice, more like Salina. She changed, why can't you? An encouraging voice that sounded like Jaqui's rang in her head, and Corinne bit her lip. Being nice wasn't really her thing, she was only nice to her closest friend back home, and she hadn't spoken to her in a year.
Tall and proud, head back, wrinkle your nose, put her in her rightful place below you, Another voice said, and she knew it to be her Maman's. Which did she listen too, Jaqui the 'nuisance' in her Maman's word, or her Maman, whose beliefs Corinne knew to be wrong. But was she ready to just completely change? She knew that Salina did, the moment she met Leisha, the girl had stood up for herself. Could she be like Salina?
Don't be rude, be polite, listen to what she says with interest and ask her questions about herself, said Jaqui's voice. Corinne was in half a mind to listen to Jaqui, not her Maman, but old habits die hard. She was used to discarding what Jaqui said and taking on what Maman said.
Proud, tall, strong, you are the superior. You are a Girard, Maman's voice said again, and Corinne felt like hitting her head continuously against a tree to get rid of the voices that were now repeating what they had said over and over.
SHUT UP! Her own voice screamed, and the other two went silent. Great, now im hearing voices. Im going mad, Corinne grimaced at the thought that she had gone bonkers.
As the four of them split off into their allocated groups, Alice whispered in her ear, "My name's Alice." Corinne nodded her head to acknowledged she'd heard her. "J'amapelle- Pardon," Corinne almost blushed at the fact in her confusion she had slipped into French. "Corinne," she whispered back.
Finally, Jaqui had finished speaking, and she followed after Alice, still not sure how to speak to her. She decided to just take on a bit of both, rude and nice. She snorted, what a strange combination.
She stepped inside after Alice and looked down at the Fire Crab. It's shell was truly magnificent.
"I can't say I've ever seen one of these before." Corinne heard Alice commented. "Though I'm glad that we had this one over the Crups. Wouldn't get along to well with my family." At that Corinne's head snapped in Alice's direction. "What? What are you talking about? Are your family, muggles?" She asked, then realising her tone was distasteful, and she frowned.
Be nice! Jaqui's voice insisted. Fine! Fine! I'll be nice! Corinne thought back, then realised she was talking to herself in her head. "I am sorry, please excuse my tone. Zee crup does not like zee muggles, oui? What are your parents like?" Corinne found herself genuinely interested in what it was like to have muggles parents, and she tossed a piece of lettuce to the Fire Crab whilst waiting for Alice's response.
The Fire Crab grabbed the lettuce in its mouth and munched on it, so Corinne grabbed her notepad and sat down, dipping her quill in the ink and scribbling down some writing.
The Fire Crab's shell is encrusted with what looks like expensive and dazzling jewels. The Fire Crab's appearance is like that of a tortoise. It moves very slowly, and enjoys to eat; Lettuce, once she'd finished scribbled that down, she placed her quill, ink and pad to the side.

"Didn't the teacher say something about it looking like a terrier, those little yippy dogs I like to call them. They are very annoying and noisy." Responded Leshia, and Salina made a sound of joy as she clapped her hands together. "Zat is right! Jack Russel Terrier! Ah oui, zey are very annoying," said Salina in agreement, scribbling down, muggle dog, Jack Russel Terrier. The difference between the two dogs is that the Crup has a forked tail, whereas the Jack Russel Terrier does not.

"You know what I bet you that tail would be perfect for catching food. All they would have to do is strike their food with it to knock them out. What do you think?"
Said Leshia, causing Salina to snort with laughter.

"Zey could. 'ow useful. Alright, lets see what zis puppy can do. You must admit, zis ees very cute. It does not 'yip' like ze Jack Russel Terrier does."

[OOC: I'd write more Leshia, but I have to go do something. brb.]

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Alice Carroll Lane Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:56 pm

Alice noticed that her partner seemed to be going through some kind of war with herself. At first she was afraid she'd be dealing with a psychopath. Just what I need, a crazy snake lady. Alice thought to herself.

She tried to focus on the turtle like creature that was before her. It's back was ablaze with gems and intricate designs. It was a bejeweled tortoise to say the least. She made the comment about her family absentmindedly (when am I going to learn to think before I speak? She groaned inwardly] and was caught off guard by Corinne's disapproving remark.

"What? What are you talking about? Are your family, muggles?"

This had to be the girl that Tess told her about. Alice frowned a little at her snippy attitude. It was most likely the Witches like these that caused her mother to give up her Magical Ways. She certainly wasn't winning Alice over any and with the remark about her family, the Slytherin had the Gryffindor burning. She took deep breaths, her hands balling into fists at her sides. She tried to concentrate on taking notes about the Fire Crab.

Bedazzled turtle that emits fire out rear She wrote down. If she had to ignore Corinne for the time being let it be so.

However the girl's next statement took her off guard. "I am sorry, please excuse my tone. Zee crup does not like zee muggles, oui? What are your parents like?"

The Gryffindor turned in disbelief and watched Corinne throw the creature a piece of lettuce which it gobbled up.

"Erm, for the most part." Alice responded. "My Da and as far as we know all three of my siblings are. But me Mum is Magical. She gave up her ways though after graduating Hogwarts. She was a Slytherin." Alice said trying to make a connecting point. "She gave it up, however, because she kept being called a Mudblo-" Alice caught herself before she almost said the dreadful word. "I mean, the students teased her because she came from Muggle parents."

Alice looked back to her notes and besides her comment she wrote eats lettuce. The girl reached into the basket of foods and tossed the creature a hunk of meat which is sniffed curiously with its beak like snout and then turned on immediately. Alice sighed in response.

"But turns out that Mum's genes carried over and I am Magical." Alice still didn't look Corinne in the eye. The girl did apologize but not after having an attitude about her family. Alice wasn't quite ready to let that go. "How about you?" She asked, trying to remain civil.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Corinne Girard Mon Jan 09, 2012 6:38 pm

Corinne was getting the vibe that Alice was very offended by her comment, which made her feel both smug and disappointed in herself. She was now beginning to wonder if her Maman and her elder sœur had completely taken over her body and she was more than positive that her smugness was Maman, and her disappointment was Jaqui. I want to feel what I feel! Not what you two feel! Corinne snapped in her head, but of course she received no response. Corinne pushed away the thought and instead listened with curiosity to Alice talking about her mother being a Slytherin and giving up her magical ways.
She noticed that Alice made emphasis on the Slytherin part and was instantly offended. She had become very fond of her house (just not all of the people in it) and ground her teeth together to stop herself from snapping at the girl. This was strange behaviour, for a few days ago Corinne would've ripped into the girl. "'ow interessant- I mean interesting," Corinne made a mental note to practice using English instead of French.
"Well, I am from France, as you can probably tell. I was born into one of zee only pure-blood families left, zee Girard's! My Maman is from France, but she used to live 'ere. She was also a Slytherin. Per'aps my Maman-" Corinne paused talking as she realised her Maman had probably been one of the ones to pick on Alice's mother. "- knew yours. My Papa 'as always lived in France. I 'ave a twin, zough you probably noticed zat. Zee only difference in appearance between us is zat I do not have zee 'ighlights in mine hair. I also 'ave a younger bruther, Laurence. Et my older seester, she ees Professor. Girard," said Corinne
"You 'ave siblings? What are zere names?" Corinne looked into the vegetable bag and saw a peeled and non-peeled carrot. She snapped off a bit of the non-peeled carrot and tossed it to the Sand Crab, watching as it took a nibble before turning its head away.
She snapped off a piece of the peeled carrot and rolled that to the Sand Crab. It eagerly took this in its mouth and munched on it. "Hmm," she mumbled, as she scribbled down on her parchment will eat carrot, so long as it it peeled.

Pxyis acknowledged that she had been dismissed, and so she rushed over to her designated tent and quickly went inside. "So sorry im late, i've been really slow at getting ready lat-" Pxyis had turned around from shutting the tent and froze, eyes widened in shock, before they narrowed in on Corinne and she twirled her hair that was pulled back into a high ponytail around her finger, lips curled back as she glared at the girl. She barely noticed the Fire Crab, or the Gryffindor also with them, Pxyis' entire focus was on Corinne.
"Well well well, look who it is. Miss. Im so beter than thou and I think muggles are the scum of the Earth," Pxyis snarled, and she normally wouldn't be quite so nasty, but this girl had insulted muggles- and by further extent her best friends. Pxyis took a deep calming breath and turned her back on Corinne in the most offensive way possible, knowing it would rile her up. She smiled at this Gryffindor and let her feature's soften.
"Hello. Im Pxyis, Pxyis Wilson, and you are?" She asked, before her eyes were caught by the bedazzling Fire Crab, with its intricate and delicate patterns of jewels encrusted into it's shell. Her eyes locked back onto the Gryffindor's.
"Im not sure what we're meant to be doing, could you help me out?" Pxyis asked.

Alice also took note of the Crab.
And the way that Corinne took offense at her Slytherin comment. Good, serves her right. She probably doesn't know what it means to be offended. Pure blood and all, she probably forefronts the discrimination against half bloods and Muggle born. Alice was letting her pride and vengeance get in the way. But it felt good to have a little competition going, no matter how petty.

She listened to Corinne describe her family story with rare patience. She glanced up at Salina and Prof. Girard when she noticed that Corinne mentioned their names. When questioned about her own siblings, however, Alice's face brightened into a smile.

"Yes, I have four. My oldest sister is named Rachel and she's 15. She is a dancer, has taken ballet ever since she could walk. Me Da would love to see her get into something sensible but both her and mother have helped her to excel. She has grace like no other being on this earth." Alice said with a smile, picturing her tall, lean blonde sister. "Next is Stephen. He plays rugby and futbol for his private school. He's a rather brilliant bloke too. All good marks since he started first year."

Alice left out the part where he was also very good looking and his school's heartthrob.

"Then there's me. For awhile they thought I was just trouble because I kept having all these accidents happen. But obviously there was another explanation." She gestured to her surrounding. "After me is Lindsay, she's eight years old and one of the most gentle people you'll ever meet. Then our little terror named Harriette, she's six." Alice said with a smile. "Biggest bundle of energy you'll ever meet."

Alice sighed as she watched the creature move about. She was hoping to encounter a bit more of a well known creature, like perhaps a unicorn or a griffin.

"If your family is from France, why did they go to Beauxbatons? Tess McCartney told me a little about it." Alice had to confess that it wasn't her own knowledge.

Alice was interrupted by another voice.

"Well well well, look who it is. Miss. Im so beter than thou and I think muggles are the scum of the Earth," She turned to see another Slytherin approaching the pair of them.

Oh great, now we have interhouse war? Alice thought to herself. And I was told Gryffindor was the one with the anger issues

Alice watched in half amusement at the girl's features hardened toward Corinne. However, when she turned back to Alice, they softened.

"Hello. Im Pxyis, Pxyis Wilson, and you are?" She replied sweetly. "Im not sure what we're meant to be doing, could you help me out?"

"Erm, I'm Alice." The auburn haired girl replied. "And, uh, yeah. Corinne and I are just kinda watching the Bedazzled Turtles here and-" she motioned with the tip of her quill "and taking notes on them. This is what we've-er I've-erm noticed thus far."

Alice wasn't sure of what to do. Whether to jump onto Pxyis' side (especially since she was sticking up for the Muggles) or help Corinne out. Both were supposed to be her house enemies.

((OOC: Thats ok I am actually at work and have to come and go))

Leshia wrote down the ideas that they had about the jack Russel Terrier. Then they needed to discover what this thing could possible do.

Leshia looked over in a box that seemed to have different food items in it. At first she grabbed a piece of lettece and threw it at it. It walked over too it smelled it then looked up at the girls.

"Well I take that as a no." Said Leshia.

"Here lets try some of this meat." Leshia picked up what looked like a piece of raw steak and threw that at the creature and the creature just attacked it like it was the last piece of food it would ever see.

"That was kind of scary, I know I don't want to be on the wrong end of that bite." Leshia stated as she kind of cowered behind Salina.

"I do not think I would want that as a pet, I can't believe you would."

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Corinne Girard Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:13 pm

Corinne was interested in Alice's siblings stories, and was stunned to realise it. She had never cared much for other's family stories, nor listened to them, but Corinne was interested. "'ow wonderful. Your family sounds so... wonderful," Corinne was quite jealous, over the fact that Alice's 'Da' sounded interested in their lives, and her mother was obviously interested, how could she no be? They were muggles, or witches that had given up their ways, they never felt the need to live up to the social standing!
Corinne let her eyes drop down as they watered. This would be the 2nd time she'd cried at this school, and she refused to do so, hardening her gaze she looked back up but could feel the jealousy flare in her eyes. "Your leetle sœur- I mean seester, she sounds so sweet. 'Ariette is a wonderful name!" She proclaimed, but when questioned about Beauxbatons, she laughed.
"I would go to Beauxbatons, except I do not live in France!" She said with a laugh. "We moved 'ere last year, for Maman wished it so. She moved 'ere when she was 10 also, so she felt zat we should do the same," Corinne's tone became sour when she spoke of her mother. "Do you Mama and Da... do zey care for you? Are zey interested in what you do?" Corinne asked quietly, before the gate was opened and Pxyis stepped inside, turning to shut the gate behind her.
"So sorry im late, i've been really slow at getting ready lat-" Pxyis had turned to them and frozen, her eyes shocked before they honed in on Corinne and she gave her a look that could kill. Corinne straightened up, offended by her cold look.
"Well well well, look who it is. Miss. Im so beter than thou and I think muggles are the scum of the Earth," Corinne said in a venomous tone, before turning her back on Corinne to talk to Alice. Corinne felt her shoulders droop. She no longer felt the burning passion to defend herself, she just felt saddened that she was so cruel to Pxyis.
And now, this girl that Corinne had hoped she could perhaps become... friendly acquaintances with would think badly of her, if she didn't already think that. Which Corinne was sure she did, so know Alice would possibly despise her, especially since her mother was a muggle.
Corinne turned away and instead continued to scribble things down about the appearance of the Sand Crab.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Alice noticed that Corinne wasn't interested in fighting back at all so she decided to at least remain amiable. As she waited for Pxyis to catch up to speed, Alice smiled and answered Corinne's question.

"They care a great deal. I think me Da's just excited that they found out what was going on. He knew I was his little deviant but he didn't know what to do when things would appear flying across the room and random mishaps would happen. Mum, I think, doesn't know what to do. She is happy that I can have my own thing in life (she wanted us to remain a family but at the same time she also wants us to grow as our own person) but she knew that Hogwarts was hard for her. I still need to write her a letter and send out my owl to let her know that I was sorted as a Gryffindor," She said with a smile. "I also need to write her about the Quidditch games here. Unfortunately, she wasn't prepared to have Magical children so she never really told us much about what goes on at schools like this. And that mobile phones don't work here, either." She wrinkled her nose.

"So do you like it better in England (where is your family living, I'm sorry, I forgot if you mentioned) or do you want to return to France?" She asked Corinne.

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Post by Charlotte Smith Mon Jan 09, 2012 7:54 pm

Charlotte hurried towards her Care of Magical Creatures lesson, to her knowledge she was not late and she felt her stomach drop when she noticed that all the class were there and had seemingly started their activities already, it surely wasn't that time already.

Moving closer to the lesson Charlotte bit her lip, it looked as if she was really really late and that was not a good sign.

"Forgive me Professor for being late, I uhm...honestely didn't know that the lesson had started yet."

(OOC: Hi there, just a quick note, I'm a Brit and you set you're lesson while I was asleep so...I couldn't have exactly posted...)

Lesson 1 - First Years Empty Re: Lesson 1 - First Years

Salina looked up at Leshia and shrugged, already scribbling down that the Crup has a particular liking for raw meat. "I theenk eet ees cute," she said, watching as the little Crup licked its lips after ahving devoured the raw meat as fast as it could. She pat her lap, and the Crup came bounding over and into it, jumping up and licking her face and nuzzling his head against her chin, before curling up on her lap and sighing contently.
Salina reached over it and wrote down that it was very cuddly. She grabbed a bunch of vegetables from the vegetable basket and offered each one to the Crup. It didn't want any of them, so she also wrote down that it was a carnivore. "Eet ees cute," Salina said, scratching it under the chin. She scribbled down where it liked to be scratched, and where it didn't. She scratched it behind the ears and it completely flopped, pushing its head further into her hand as it panted happily. Salina giggled and looked up at Leshia.
"I most certainly want one," Salina said with a laugh. "Zough I do not theenk zat my kneazle would appreciate eet," Salina grinned.
