Re: Lesson 1 - First Years
He stood still in his spot a moment, trying to make sense of the bit he understood her say, trying not to look completely lost. He looked over to where she pointed and motioned, noticing the group of girls. Group work was not his favorite thing to do. He'd rather struggle through something alone then have to work with a bunch of people which probably knew a whole lot more then he did. He'd have to talk to them though, considering he hardly understood the instructions or the assignment.
He hesitated a moment before walking over to the pen, making sure to stay out of their way as long as possible.

Re: Lesson 1 - First Years
Pxyis looked up as a boy from Slytherin entered their pen. She quickly scribbled down her last piece of writing on the Sand Crab after discovering it didn't like sticks and would shoot flames out its rear when a stick prodded its shell. Or it could just be it didn't like its shell being touched. Pxyis wrote that down as well before putting her writing to the side and jumping up, moving over to greet the newby.
"Hello, im Pxyis Wilson. You must be..." She looked at him curiously and remembered that he would be the new boy in Slytherin. "Emery, or Parker, I can't remember which is your first, right?" She shrugged. "Do you know what to do? Cause if you don't i'll tell you," she decided to tell him anyway, not one to sit around and take forever to explain. She tossed her wavy blonde hair over her shoulder as she looked at him.
"We have to write down facts about the Sand Crab," she pointed at the tortoise-looking creature with a jewel-like shell. "Just what it likes to eat, what scares it and what its shell looks like. We hand that up at the end of the lesson. Just copy off my sheet in your own words," she bent down and grabbed her own sheet before turning back to him and passing it to him. "And we also have to do a 50 word summary on the Chimaera. That's due next lesson... I think..." Pxyis shrugged.
"Do you understand?" She asked, hoping he did because she didn't want to make it simpler for him.

Parker stared at the girl, a bit taken back by her forwardness, but thankful he didn't have to grab her attention. He was confused as to how she knew his name at first but reminded himself of the sorting hat and the fact she was in slytherin as well. He hadn't really cared to pay attention to other people's names then, he was far to enthralled by the Great Hall, not to mention the hat itself.
"First name's Parker, but call me which ever." He looked past her and at the funny looking crab, unable to take his eyes off it, never having seen anything like it before. Still looking at the crab he took her paper as she passed it to him.
With her mentioning their next assignment he drew his eyes back to her. This is where is got embarrassing, he was smart but was ignorant of the things most others seemed to know so much concerning the wizarding world, as well as being pretty cut off from most lore and myths before he knew about the wizarding world.
"Chimaera?"

"Yes, a Chimeara. I think that we'll find out the what page all the information about them is on, so don't worry about it," Pxyis smiled at him. "Well, hello Parker. Nice to meet you," Pxyis turned her attention back to the Sand Crab and tossed the stick near it again, and more fire burst from its rear end as it began to back away from the stick.
"Weird thing, I don't know why we couldn't get the Crup's or something, they're cute," Pxyis winged, glaring at the Sand Crab. Yes, it was beautiful with its intricate design of jewels set in its shell, but other than the fact that fire came out its rear end, it was terribly boring.

Alice noticed that the boy had entered the ring.
Great another Slytherin She thought to herself and groaned aloud. But she went over and great Parker again. "I think you're in my flying class." Alice said with a smile. "Welcome to Group 2, home of angst." She held out her arms.
Why were there so many Slytherins? It made her feel left out. She didn't know any of them from the house and they all seemed to know each other. It annoyed her.

Leshia had not caught every thing that the Professor and said to Salina but whatever is was it sounded sort of rude and snappy. Leshia looked over at Salina to make sure she was not overly up set, and that we would have to talk about it later in the room.
The Professor set forth an assignment for them tonight. Great she was going to have to write a summary. She supposes that a 50 word summary is better than 2 or 3 pages.
Now that the assingment was assigned we would have to wait for the class to be dismissed.
She whispered over to Salina "it will be ok." Leshia smiled at her.

"Er- right. Hi."He gave Alice a polite smile and nod, before looking back to the bedazzled crab as it backed away from the stick. Shouldn't it have been dangerous to leave them with something that shoots fire? He knelt down to get a better look, his curiosity piquing, he almost wanted to touch the jewels on it and wondered if they would be hot from the fire. He listened to Pxyis, and glanced up at her as she stopped talking. "What's a Crup?"

Re: Lesson 1 - First Years
Pxyis saw him leaning towards the crab and she placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't get too close," she said to him.
"What's a Crup?" He asked her, and Pxyis smirked and rolled her eyes, thinking that he wasn't very knowledgeable about the Wizarding world for a wizard. "A Crup, is like a Jack Russel Terrier, except with a forked tail. It's loyal to wizard's and despises Muggle's," Pxyis explained, sitting down next to him and staring at the Fire Crab.
"You should start copying down my notes, or you'll lose points for Slytherin," Pxyis suddenly said to him, looking sideways at him with a look that said 'i'll kill you if you lose house points for us', but adding a grin to make sure he knew that the look was a joke.

He stopped and looked up at Pxyis as she placed a hand on his shoulder. "Don't get too close." Besides the fire from it's backside, it didn't seem all too dangerous so he didn't see what was wrong about wanting to get closer.
He sat down from his squat, pulling back his hand. "A Crup is like a Jack Russel Terrier, except with a forked tail. It's loyal to wizard's and despises Muggle's." "How would it be able to tell who's a Wizard or who's a Muggle?" Smell them? Magic was a strange thing, maybe it just could feel it.
He looked back down at her page of notes and his blank paper as she said "You should start copying down my notes, or you'll lose points for Slytherin." He certainly didn't want that. With her grin, he gave a small smile back, and looked back down, looking over her notes.

"Alright, first years!" Jaqui called to them all, and waited whilst they all found a seat in front of her in her makeshift classroom. Jaqui moved around to the front of her desk and sat down on it. "I 'ave given you time to complete your studying of ze creatures I 'ave assigned you. Zis should only eenclude theengs you noticed about zere be'aviour, what zey ear and zere appearance. I want zese 'anded up to me now. As for your 50 word summaries, I expect zem to be 'anded up next lesson. For ze Chimaera, turn to page 175 of your textbook. For ze Lethifold, page 214." Jaqui then moved back around to her seat and waited for the students to hand up their work they had done this lesson.
Jaqui scribbled away notes for her next lesson whilst the students read.
[[OOC: You can just pretend to hand up what you were meant to write about the Sand Crab or Crup. If, however you want to actually write it like i'd originally planned, you can earn up to 5 points, 2 points already just for handing one up. This is optional. So is the summary, but if you hand it up you receive 5 house points, and up to 15 depending on how good it is. Rp handing it p to me but DO NOT reveal what you have written. Send the actual assignment in a private message to me. This is optional, you can just hand up a fake one, but you will not receive house points.]]
The Chimaera
M.O.M Classification: XXXXX
The Chimaera is a rare Greek monster, with a lion's head, a goat's body and a dragon's tail. Vicious and bloodthirsty, the Chimaera is very dangerous.
It normally takes a team of skilled wizard's to subdue the creature, and due to its love of eating humans and viciously killing many creatures it comes across, the Chimaera is un-tamable. The only known slayer of the Chimaera was a very un-lucky wizard, for tired after his efforts he was ferociously killed by his frightened winged horse.
The egg of a Chimaera is classified as Grade- A non tradable goods. The reason being that Wizard's wish to make the Chimaera as rare as possible, for the dangers that it brings are horrific.
In 1783, a small Wizarding village in Greece were attacked by a male and female Chimaera. 16 Wizard's/Witches fell to their death that day, including 2 pregnant women and 4 children. 1 Chimaera is known to be able to kill 5 Wizard's in the blink of an eye (5 un-trained Wizard's in the art of subduing dangerous creatures) and a pair can kill up to 20 Wizard's.

Lethifold
M.O.M Classification: XXXXX
The Lethifold is a mercifully rare creature found solely in tropical climates. It resembles a black cloak perhaps half an inch thick (thicker if it has recently killed and digested a victim), which glides along the ground at night. The earliest account we have of a Lethifold was written by the wizard Flavius Belby, who was fortunate enough to survive a Lethifold attack in 1782 while holidaying in Papua New Guinea.
Near one o'clock in the morning, as I began at last to feel drowsy, I heard a soft rustling close by. Believing it to be nothing more than the leaves of the tree outside, I turned over in bed, with my back to the window, and caught sight of what appeared to be a shapeless black shadow sliding underneath my bedroom door. I lay motionless, trying sleepily to divine what was causing such a shadow in a room lit only by moonlight.
Undoubtedly my stillness led the Lethifold to believe that its potential victim was sleeping.
To my horror, the shadow began to creep up the bed, and I felt its slight weight upon me. It resembled nothing so much as a rippling black cape, the edges fluttering slightly as it slithered up the bed towards me. Paralysed with fear, I felt its clammy touch upon my chin before I sat bolt upright.
The thing attempted to smother me, sliding inexorably up my face, over my mouth and nostrils, but still I struggled, feeling it wrapping its coldness about me all the while. Unable to cry for assistance, I groped for my wand. Now dizzy as the thing sealed itself about my face, incapable of drawing breath, I concentrated with all my might upon the Stupefying Charm and then ¨C as that failed to subdue the creature, though blasting a hole in my bedroom door ¨C upon the Impediment Hex, which likewise availed me naught. Still struggling madly, I rolled sideways and fell heavily to the floor, now entirely wrapped in the Lethifold.
I knew that I was about to lose consciousness completely as I suffocated. Desperately, I mustered up my last reserve of energy. Pointing my wand away from myself into the deadly folds of the creature, summoning the memory of the day I had been voted President of the local Gobstones Club, I performed the Patronus Charm.
Almost at once I felt fresh air upon my face. I looked up to see that deathly shadow being thrown into the air upon the horns of my Patronus. It flew across the room and slithered swiftly out of sight.
As Belby so dramatically reveals, the Patronus is the only spell known to repel the Lethifold. Since it generally attacks the sleeping, though, its victims rarely have a chance to use any magic against it. Once its prey has been successfully suffocated, the Lethifold digests its food there and then in their bed. It then exits the house slightly thicker and fatter than before, leaving no trace of itself or its victim behind.

Pxyis didn't have time to answer Parker's question, as Prof. Girard had summoned them back to the makeshift classroom. She took a seat right up the back and awaited further instruction from their teacher as she took her parchment back from Parker with a small smile.
"I 'ave given you time to complete your studying of ze creatures I 'ave assigned you. Zis should only eenclude theengs you noticed about zere be'aviour, what zey ear and zere appearance. Girard said, and Pxyis was quick to rise from her chair and walk up to the front of the class.
She placed her parchment about the Crup on her desk, flashed the teacher a winning smile and returned to her seat- hoping to earn 5 points for Slytherin but she wasn't sure if she'd done very well. Too late now, she thought to herself as she retrieved her Care of Magical Creatures textbook from her bag and opened it to page 175, burying her head in her book as she read about the Chimaera, taking notes here and there.

Leshia didn't have time to think about what was bothering Salina right now becasue the teacher has called upon the class and given them assignments.
Great she thought, I have been so worried about Salina she hadn't even began with anything but her notes.
Leshia quickly made her notes a little more reasable for the professor and then handed the paper into the professor.
"Thank you for the interesting class Professor." Leshia handed the paper over and went back to her seat and waited to be offically dismissed.
She was really concerned what had happened to Salina, she did not like the idea of her new best friend crying.

Parker took his seat beside Pxyis and jotted down his notes on the Fire Crab quickly before she took them back. Finishing up a few notes he took of his own, he then got up and walked over to the teachers desk, setting it down, then hurrying back to his seat. He hoped they were okay notes.
After sitting back down he pulled out his book turning to the page she instructed to for the Chimaera, skimming through it as he waited to be officially dismissed.

Salina was embarrassed by what her sister had snapped at her, and was still flushing as they all returned to the tables. She took a seat beside Leshia and listened as Prof. Girard talked, before handing up her notes like asked. She hoped they would earn her some points for Ravenclaw.
She sat back down and opened her book to the page on Lethifold's, not really reading it for she already knew everything on the page due to past... circumstances. Salina looked to Leshia as she sat back down and saw the concern all over her face. Suspecting it was about her, she offered Leshia a tiny smile. "I'm fine," she muttered.

Corinne walked up to Jaqui with her sheet in her hand and placed it on her desk. She turned back to the desk's and sat down on her own, resting her head on her hand as she flicked her textbook open lazily and turned it to the page with information about the Chimaera.
Boring, She thought whilst she read, stifling a yawn of boredom as she did so. The wind gently brushed against her skin and it was so peaceful outside that she felt the urge to fall asleep rising.

Re: Lesson 1 - First Years
Jaqui was very impressed with the quality of her student's pieces. The ones that had already been handed up to her she was currently marking. Finally, she had finished Parker's and so she stood up and with the marks written on them she began to hand them back to the student's. She first went to Corinne's desk and placed the sheet down on her desk. "4 'ouse points," Jaqui said to her with a smile.
She walked over to where Salina and Leshia were sitting. "Leshia," she said, placing her work back on her desk. "4 'ouse points," she then slid Salina's down in front of her. "Salina, 3 'ouse points. You did not include enough information on eet," said Jaqui in disappointment, but she ruffled the girls hair anyway, knowing it would annoy her little sister.
She went to the back of the makeshift classroom where Pxyis and Parker were sitting. She thought they already seemed to be quite close to becoming friends. "Parker, you 'ave received 5 'ouse points, well done!" Jaqui said with a wide smile as she gave him back his work. "And Pxyis, you 'ave received 4 'ouse points." Salina handed her back her sheet before sitting back at the front of the class.

Re: Lesson 1 - First Years
When the professor walked to the back, approaching him and Pxyis, he looked up from his book currently skimming through about the lethifold as well. He was curious about what the other group would be looking up as well. He was nervous about how many points he'd get for his notes and hoped they were good.
He sat up straight looked surprised when she had said, "Parker, you 'ave received 5 'ouse points, well done!" 5? He actually got the whole 5 points? He took the paper, smiling at it, proud of his work, though most of it he owed to Pxyis helping him get caught up with notes.

When Leshia heard the points that the professor gave Salina she was not very happy. They practically have the same information on the animal. They had discussed everything, Leshia thought it was just becasue Salina was her sister and that made Leshia a little upset.
Leshia almost said something out loud but thought better about it. but she did manage to whisper to Salina after the Professor walked away. "I did not think that was very fair, we had the same thoughts."

Jaqui realised that the lesson had finally drawn to a close, and so she decided to analyse how many points went to each house. She stood up and walked around to the front of the desk, addressing the class with a warm smile. "I am pleased with your work, mine students," said Jaqui.
"I theenk zat you would all like to know 'ow many 'ouse points were earnt zis lesson. For Ravenclaw, 17 'ouse points, Gryffindor and 'ufflepuff, Zero, and Slytherin, 23 'ouse points," Jaqui read from her scribbles on a sheet, looking in a disappointed way at the Gryffindor's before walking back around her desk and tapping it with her wand.
Immediately, the desk collapsed in on itself along with the chair and morphed back into the shape of a mushroom with her parchment, quills and ink pot sitting neatly on the ground beside it. "Ah, magique," said Jaqui wistfully, before flicking her wand and watching as the rest of the tables and chairs did the same, leaving the students things neatly beside the toadstools.
"I will see you all next lesson. Well done, everyone, I am most impressed with ze quality of your work!" Jaqui beamed at them before she gathered up her gear and waited until all the students had left the area before going her own way.
