Lesson Three - First Years Empty Lesson Three - First Years

Post by Briony Romain Tue May 15, 2012 12:11 am

Briony was not very happy at having to come and cover her least favourite professors lessons when she was supposed to be relaxing after the birth, but there was simply nobody else to cover so she had to get herself to the lesson on time, leaving Raven in the care of Kayla while she taught.

Opening the door to the classroom, Briony stepped inside and strode towards the desk in the center, sitting down, she was very glad that her work outs seemed to be getting her post-baby body back into shape, like it should be, without the use of magic.

Sighing she waited for the class to arrive so she could begin.

Carly entered the classroom and was surprised to see Briony covering the lesson, and she didn't look too thrilled to be there.

Smiling at her, Carly sat down in her seat and waited for class to begin, glad that she wasn't late.

Briony smiled internally when it seemed as if there was only one student in this class, she didn't mind however because it meant that she would be able to teach the class much better this way.

Standing up she made her way to the front of the class and sat on the front of the desk;

"Hello Carly, today your teacher has left me the work to teach you, and she said you would be learning about the Flame freezing Charm, now it's rather self explanatory what it does, but can you tell me any times when it might need to be used in a real life situation?"

Carly thought back, she knew what the charm did and tried to think when it could be useful. Then she remembered her mother telling her about how the muggles used to persecute witches and wizards.

"It was used by witches and wizards when muggles tried to burn them because they were afraid of magic" she answered, "I suppose it could also be cast on candles so you wont accidentally burn yourself".

Briony smiled a little and nodded her head, they were good examples and she thought that this Hufflepuff although had not taken her lesson was very bright and she hoped that she would be able to go far in her schooling.

"Well done, take 10 points for Hufflepuff, now, if you would like to try the incantation, I'll write it up on the board and create the flame for you to try it on. When you feel you have done it, I will run my hand through the flame, don't you do it."

Summoning a candle, Briony lit it with her old cigarette lighter and watched the flame flicker, now going over to the board she wrote the incantation upon it; 'Ignisaura.'

Carly read the incantation carefully, and practised saying it a few times before using her wand. Once she had felt she had mastered it she waved her wand while saying the spell. At first she was not sure that she had done it, so she tried a couple more times, then on about her 5th time, after saying the spell she somehow knew that she had managed it, or at least she was pretty sure that she had.

Turning to Briony, she smiled and said, "I think I've done it"

Briony saw that Carly had managed to complete the spell and she was glad that she would not be having to give a bad report on the student to the professor, not that she would be seeing her if she could help it.

Running her hand through the flame, Carly giggled lightly and she smirked when she saw the spell was done correctly.

"Well done Carly, take ten points each for your house."

With that Briony flicked her wand and opened the door to the classroom for the student to leave through.
