Lesson Three - Third Years Empty Lesson Three - Third Years

Post by Briony Romain Tue May 15, 2012 12:12 am

Briony was not very happy at having to come and cover her least favourite professors lessons when she was supposed to be relaxing after the birth, but there was simply nobody else to cover so she had to get herself to the lesson on time, leaving Raven in the care of Kayla while she taught.

Opening the door to the classroom, Briony stepped inside and strode towards the desk in the center, sitting down, she was very glad that her work outs seemed to be getting her post-baby body back into shape, like it should be, without the use of magic.

Sighing she waited for the class to arrive so she could begin.

Pyxis walked through the halls aimlessly for hours before she realised that it was time for her lesson and quickly returned to the common room. Once there, she collected her bag and continued along to her lesson, where upon arrival she took a seat at the back and waited for the lesson to begin.

Zara sluggishly walked into class. She hadn't slept all night. She wasn't sure why but she just wasn't tired.

She plonked herself down in the nearest seat and took out her things, waiting for the lesson to begin.

Airen walked into the Charms classroom. He had heard rumors that the Headmistress had given birth, but he wasn't one for gossip. He mostly kept his thoughts and opinions to himself.

"Good morning, Professor," he said politely as he sat in his normal seat.

Briony smiled internally when it seemed as if there was only one student in this class, she didn't mind however because it meant that she would be able to teach the class much better this way.

Standing up she made her way to the front of the class and sat on the front of the desk;

"Hello class it's nice to see so many familiar faces, today your teacher has left me the work to teach you, and she said you would be learning about the 'Engorgement Charm'. I am not one for charms but, looking at the work it seems relitively simple."

Humming a little bit Briony wrote up the spell on the board, and the correct hand movements to perform with the wand, handing out a bar of chocolate to each student Briony returned to her desk;

"Now, you say the intancation 'Engorgio', flick your wand downwards while pointing at the chocolate bar, and you should have one twice the size if the spell is performed sucessfully. If you complete the task, you can keep the chocolate."

Tabi made her way to Charms class, thinking she was on time, she was a little confused that not only the class at started but that the Headmistress was teaching the class. She must have her times off, cursing herself she went and took her seat to learn about the spell.

Looking in front of her she noticed the chocolate bar and the Headmistress said if we can make it big we can keep the chocolate, and that was ok with her.

Pointing her wand at the bar "Engorgio' Tabi said but nothing happened. It took Tabi about 5 times to get it to work correctly.

Wincing as he walked into the room, Humphrey quickly found the first seat he saw and sat down. He knew he was running late, and even worse, the professor of charms was the headmaster. It was his first week back, and he was late for the headmaster's class. Not a good way to begin his third year. I mean, it was bad enough that he was coming in halfway through the year. He noticed that today they would be learning about the engorgio charm. Having absolutely no idea what that was he began to look at what the other students were doing.

Victoria knew she was running late. It was harder to get around the corridors than she had expected. She hadn't been able to meet with the Headmistress before the lessons began to get a map of the secret corridors yet, so she had opted to wear her gloves and hood at all times and to keep to the shadows. Thank Merlin there were many of them in this castle.

As she took a seat near the back she instantly went on edge. She was become more aware of other people, almost being able to smell them, though she wasn't quite sure what she was smelling. But there was a new scent in the room. As she looked around she noticed Zara across the room and was only slightly relieved to have located the source.

Trying to focus on the lesson, she pulled out her wand and gave the spell a few tries. She could feel the magic stirring within her, but like Charlie had said, it was taking time. After a few attempts the candy bar had only grown a few inches. She opted to write things down to be able to practice later.

Post by Parker Emery Thu May 17, 2012 12:17 pm

Parker was rushing down the hallway, running his hand through his bed head. He had fallen asleep in sheer exhaustion in the middle of the day and had woken up with a start to realize he was late!

He groaned as he came to the door, and quickly made his seat with his head lowered. Glancing back up though as chocolate bars were being passed around he noticed the headmistress was covering the class....oh great. he remembered how she had wanted to talk to him and he'd still not gone to her...

He ran his hands through his hair again and pulled out his wand. Having missed the instructions he was looking around at everyone else, trying to figure out just what to do.

Airen listened to the professor's instructions to the class. He looked down at his chocolate bar. He had never been one for excessive amounts of chocolate, but he liked it well enough to where he would eat it if he was hungry.

He flicked his wand downward and said the incantation. "Engorgio." The chocolate bar doubled in size. Even the wrapping that encased it expanded to accompany the chocolate. He smiled at successfully completing the charm. He looked around when he heard the door open. His eyes widened in surprise when he saw Humphrey. He was glad that he was back. He hoped nothing terrible had happened to him.

Briony saw that many of the students had managed to complete the spell and she was glad that she would not be having to give a bad report on the students to the professor, not that she would be seeing her if she could help it.

"Well done students, take ten points each for your houses, and enjoy your chocolate, lesson is dismissed."

With that Briony flicked her wand and opened the door to the classroom for the students to leave through.
