Potions: Lesson 3, Second Years Empty Potions: Lesson 3, Second Years

Today was a no nonsense day she figured. They were going to do a potion that was needed in the Hospital Wing just in case anything was made. She moved her hand and the words of her next lesson appeared.

'Antidote to Common Poisons'

Sam walked to potions and she sighed she couldn't wait to see what potion they'd be learning she shrugged inwardly and walked inside the potions classroom.

Sam gave the professor a nod and she sat down at her normal desk in the back of the classroom she sighed and stated down at her desk.

Xander was glad to get back to potions. It was an area that he felt comfortable with.

Taking a seat near the front, he got his things out a turned to the potion written on the board. His father had taught him about it before, though they had never actually made it. He hoped he wouldn't have to pair up if it was just him and Sam. Ever since her attitude when he had been late to Dueling he didn't much care for her. Though he would never go so far as to say he hated her or anything.

Turning back to the book he idly wondered what Tess was doing.

Entering the classroom , he sighed in relief seeing other people there. The 'Antidote to Common Potions' was something that he had been foretold about and he grinned at the luck he had. He enjoyed potions, that is when he had some background information about it.

Potions: Lesson 3, Second Years Empty Re: Potions: Lesson 3, Second Years

Damien had made his way down to the potions classroom, for some reason he was really missing Tessa, he was working on being forgiven but he was not sure how long that was going to take.

Walking into the potions classroom he saw the other two Slytherin boys and Sam. Well Luke and Xander always did there things together and he noticed that Victoria was not here yet and he thought you snooze you loose.

Damien went over and sat down next to Sam, he has been in this annoy Sam mood today and he was not sure why. Probably because he was bored.

"Hello once again Sam." Damien said before reading the potion they were working on today.

Sam looked up from staring at her desk and saw Damien she smiled at him " Hello again" she said smiling she knew he was trying to annoy her but Sam didn't get annoyed easily.

Sam glanced around and noticed Tessa wasn't there and she knew Tessa was working with Damien she looked at him than stared down at the desk again.

Anne walked into class and sighed seeing more people. She had no clue if she knew she took a seat in the back and waited for class to start. Hopefully it wouldn't be too bad. It was like cooking right?

Seeing most students arriving she figured she'd start the lesson. She locked the doors shut, knowing that if any student came they'd be hit with disappointment.

"Welcome to lessons three of Potions, our potion today is the Antidote to Common Potions. Can anyone tell me an ingredient, a use for it, and why it's so necessary to learn?" she asked.

Sam glanced around and she raised her hand " One of the ingredents is a Bezoar and the reason why it's so necessary to learn is because it helps counteracts poisons such as creature bites or stings" Sam said a little disappointed in herself.

She knew it wasn't the best answer she stared at her desk and waited for the professor to say something.

Angel smiled at Miss Hawthorn seemed that she was the most enthusiastic about answering even if she was always nervous when she did so.

"Correct! Now, this leads me towards your next assignment for the weekend. You will be collecting certain ingredients that Professor Del Sol and I have hid around the castle. Based on your background knowledge of these ingredients, you will be expected to find them and bring them to our final lesson is that understood?"

Waving her hand, the ingredients began to appear on her board.

Fire Seeds
Powdered Graphorn Horn
Billywig stings
Chizpurfle carapaces

"Any questions before we start our potion of the week?"

Jaycie raced to the dungeons, almost tripping on the stone stairs on the way down. Inside she was cursing herself but on the outside, all she looked was thoroughly nervous.

She reached the door and tried the handle. Jay's face fell when she realised it was locked. Tentatively, she raised her hand and rapped quietly on the door. Biting her lip, she stepped back and anxiously urged the Professor to let her in.

Potions: Lesson 3, Second Years Empty Re: Potions: Lesson 3, Second Years

Post by Angel Valentine Sun May 20, 2012 10:43 am

Seeing that there were no questions, she waved her hand and the potion of the week appeared.

Ingredients:
1 Bezoar
2 measures of Standard Ingredient
1 pinch of unicorn horn
2 mistletoe berries

Instructions

1) Add 1 Bezoar to the mortar
2) Crush into a very fine powder using the pestle
3) Add 4 measures of the crushed Bezoar to your cauldron
4) Add 2 measures of Standard Ingredient to your cauldron
5) Heat to a medium temperature for 5 seconds
6) Wave your wand
7) Leave to brew and return in 30 minutes
8 ) Add 1 pinch of Unicorn Horns to your cauldron
9) Stir 2 times, clockwise
10) Add 2 Mistletoe Berries to your cauldron
11) Stir 2 times, anti-clockwise
12) Wave the wand to complete the potion

Hearing the tentatively, she lifted her brow and unlocked the door letting the tardy student in. She frowned seeing her meek expression, as if it was going to deter her from taking points.

"I hope whatever you were later for was worth it, Miss Simple, ten points from Hufflepuff. Now please take a seat, others, please find your partners and get ready to begin."

Looking at Xander, he nudged him, signaling him that he called dibs on him as partners. Immediately writing down the ingredients he went towards the pantry to grab the necessary items.

Ingredients:
1 Bezoar
2 measures of Standard Ingredient
1 pinch of unicorn horn
2 mistletoe berries

He read and picked the right amounts before coming back.

"Want to start and I'll do the second half Xander?"

Xander was glad to be able to pair up again. He enjoyed potions all on his own, but it was a different kind of fun with a partner.

After crushing the Bezoar, which he found rather weird since it was a collection of undigested things to begin with, Xander added the 4 measures to the cauldron. Adding the Standard ingredient, he turned the cauldron to the correct temperature and waved his wand. He turned to Luke and gave him a look of Now what? 30 minutes seemed like a long time to wait.
