Surprise Encounter (Humphrey and Ivano)

[Humphrey Williams]

For the first time, Humphrey Williams was exploring the crystal maze. He had not been on an adventure in far too long, and was hoping to encounter some interesting things in the maze. So far, he had only seen crystals, it was beautiful. And at one of the turns in the maze he stopped and did a quick ink painting of it. Despite the fact it wasn't close to as beautiful as the reality, it was his best painting so far. He rolled up the canvas after it dried and then took off in a random direction.

The first mistake Humphrey made in the maze, was not paying attention to where he was going. In retrospect he realized he should have made a map of where he had been so far. Now, he knew that unless luck was with him he might be lost in the maze for a very long time.

His second mistake was looking straight ahead of him. To his surprise as he stepped around a corner, he began falling through pitch black darkness. Next thing he knew, he hit the ground.

He woke up with a headache and very sore back, head, legs, everything. Ever so slowly, he inched himself up off the ground. And he saw the thing he least expected to. Somebody, or something....was there with him. Also, the room was now lit, and there were strange shadows cast off by the crystals in different colors.

Ivano sighed as he found himself in the Crystal Maze he always found it so boring but little did he know that this time through would not be like the others. He had found himself beneath the maze in a room he looked around but it was fairly dark.

He was looking for a way out when he heard a thud he went to go and see what it was to his surprise it was a human and he looked kind of familiar but he couldn't make out the features. Suddenly it got a whole lot brighter and to Ivano's surprise Humphrey his one true enemy was standing in front of him. He remained in the shadows he knew by now that he would of been detected at least by sound but he wasn't about to reviel himself yet.

"Humphrey Williams what a surprise to meet you in such place." Ivano said disguising his voice a little bit hoping not to give himself away yet.

"You! I must agree with you, very surprised to see you again since you switched to the German side of the war. Somehow, I wasn't surprised by that move. Ivano, you and me have a score to settle. What do you want to do about it?" Humphrey asked him.

Ivano still had that same smug, jerky look about him. Just the way he walked, and carried his chin high, with his eyes looking down. It made him want to sock him in the jaw. "Duel, perhaps?" he asked his mortal enemy. He had almost gotten him arrested, and thrown in jail while he was on vacation in the Bahamas once. For no other reason than it amused him.
