Lucia walked into her classroom and sat down. Today, she was bringing out something to test the students on. She was smiling wickedly at herself and her evil plan. A test. Exactly. It would be a test, not to see what they had gotten form last lesson as she had been lying sick with fever and unable to hold the lesson, but to see what they already knew.

"Welcome students. I am professor Lucia Henley, your teacher in Defense against the Dark Arts. Today, you will all answer a small test for me. But do not worry. It will not be graded or anything. I just want to see what you already know," Lucia said with a soft smile.

She then walked around and gave out blank papers. "The questions are as follows," she said and waved her wand at the blackboard where eight questions appeared.

1. What is the purpose of Defense against the Dark Arts?
2. What are the dark arts?
3. Do you know the incantation of the most normal shield charm?
4. What is a disarming charm?
5. What is the difference between a hex and a curse?
6. What is the purpose of the 'incendio' spell?
7. What is a patronus?
8. What other forms of spells are there? (other than hexes and curses)

Lucia walked back up to her desk and looked at the students. "Begin," she said kindly and watched as they started writing.

Veronica entered the room, slightly embarrassed as she hadn't been in the first lesson. Her letter had somehow gotten sent just after the first lesson had started. She made her way towards one of the seats.

She sat down and listened to the professor as she spoke. A test? What did Veronica know about Defense Against the Dark Arts? She was a first year, and she hasn't even attended the first lesson! She was only lucky that this wasn't graded and that she studied a whole lot the previous night.

Veronica quietly took a blank sheet of paper from Professor Henley. The questions appeared on the board, one by one, as the papers were passed. She suddenly noticed that the professor had already told them to begin. Hastening, she quickly took out a quill and dipped it in ink.

1. What is the purpose of Defense against the Dark Arts? Veronica read.
"The Defense Against the Dark Arts teaches students how to defend themselves with magic against the Dark Arts." she wrote.
2. What are the dark arts?
"Dark Arts, also known as 'Dark Magic' refers to types of spells that cause harm, and potions that are poisonous."
3. Do you know the incantation of the most normal shield charm?
"Yes, the incantation is 'Protego.' It is a shield charm, used to block basic spells."
4. What is a disarming charm?
"A disarming charm can disarm opponents and can even knock them backwards if the charm is strong enough. The incantation is 'Expelliarmus.'"

Veronica continued writing down her answers until she finished. She sat down quietly and waited for the others to finish.
