Potions: Fourth Years, Lesson 2

Fixing up the class, she had her back turned to the entrance and stared at the green color of the lake. She knew that this potion might be a bit challenging but this was just the tip of the iceberg.

Humphrey walked into the potions class. Professor Valentine was the only person here as of yet, and he took a seat in front of her desk. "Morning Professor Valentine, how are you today?" he asked. Then he took out his potions kit and waited for the lesson to begin.

Entering the classroom, she noticed that it was quiet. She smiled slightly at Humphrey before sitting down in her usual seat .She noticed that her Professor seemed a bit distracted, but paid no heed.

Zara walked into class, happy that she was on time for once. Noticing her friend Humphrey was there, she sat down at a desk next to him.

"Hey, Humphrey," she said, taking her potions book out.

Airen entered the classroom. He felt rather tired and just wanted to lay in his bunk and get some more sleep, but he needed to attend classes. He walked drowsily to his seat. He sat down and propped his head on his arm. He hoped he didn't conk out during the instructions.

He took out his textbook slowly and read through it idly to keep his mind thinking over the information and stay awake.

"Morning, Professor," he said softly, he managed to not yawn as of yet this morning and hoped he could keep it up.

Seeing that only a few students were here, she let out a sigh and began the class, for there was no point in waiting any longer.

"Welcome class, today we will be working on an Invisibility Potion. Can anyone tell me why we would think of doing these, all of you please come up with a reason, I'd like to see why you think I would teach you this potion."

He considered why they would be teaching them the Invisibility Potion. After a couple minutes, an idea struck him. "Could it be for safety? Because of all the attacks that have been going on, you could use an Invisibility Potion to hide yourself. Instead of getting in a fight, you just stay invisible until it was over." Humphrey said. It made sense to him, but he wasn't sure if it was the answer she was looking for.

Victoria ran to the classroom. She'd gotten sidetracked by her need to...get sustenance. She'd gotten halfway down to class when the hunger burned her throat and she had to run back to her dorm for her flask.

Mumbling a quick sorry to the professor, she took her usual seat. Hearing Humphrey's answer to a question she hadn't heard, Victoria couldn't help but smirk. She knew a little bit about invisibility. But it would be interesting to learn a potion for it.

She parted her lips, to answer, that is until the bell was heard telling them that time had departed from them.

"Considering we ran out of time, I would like to give you a project. You will pair up and do this project in partners. You will be in charge of two things. For one thing to do the invisibility potion, and the other, write a situation where this potion is beneficial. "

Invisibility Potion

Ingredients

-4 cups of cherries
- 2 hands full of Demiguise fur
- 1 Ashwinder Egg
- 1 cup of Agrippa
- 1 ounce of Antimony
- one handful (around 5) of Butterscotch
- 12 Dittany
- 10 fairy wings

Directions
1) Put cauldron over 60 degrees fire and wait till you feel the heat clearly.
2) Put in the Ashwinder egg, and the cup of Agrippa.
3) Mix thoroughly until whisked together smoothly.
4) Add the handful of butterscotch, one at a time, if more than one added at once, it will harden and ruin the potion.
5) Mash cherries until a paste and slip it in, a bright pink color should occur.
6) Lower flame by 10 degrees and add the fairy wings, make sure it isn't too hot or they will flame up.
7) Cut the dittany into each piece a centimeter, avoid any cuts or anything that will prevent it from ruining the experiment.
8 ) Add the ounce of Antimony, and you will see how it will cool down considerably.
9) Mix thoroughly and once it's nicely done, and smooth and thin liquid, add the Demiguise fur.
10) Mix until it mixes and the fur can no longer be seen.
11) Turn off flames and put them in vials and turn in at next lesson.
