Eternal Pain Empty Eternal Pain

Jumping from behind cover, Markuz fired off two Reductos and a Flesh-Cleaving spell. Hearing his Sergeant give the command to advance, Markuz sprinted forwards whilst doing his best to avoid enemy counter-fire.

Jumping into a ditch, Markuz had to gather his breath before he could continue. Considering the fucked up situation, Markuz felt extra bad knowing that this skirmish would never have officially taken place.

They were fighting a British Expeditionary Regiment of 5. 4 Wizards and 1 Witch, whereas Markuz' team counted only three members: his Sergeant, Dolin Urzen, and fellow soldier Tony Sweyte.

Having surprised the Brits with their attack, the Germans had succesfully taked down two of the British wizards, and severely injured a third.

The downside was that they had already been drained and injured from earlier battles, without having seen a healer.

Peaking up out of his ditch, Markuz looked at the mansion they were assaulting after the Brits had retreated to this tactical position.

Markuz and Dolin were assaulting from the front, whilst Tony was trying to sneak up on the Brits through the large backyard.

Seeiing that the Brits weren't paying attention to him any more, Markuz conjured twenty steel darts, a foot long and an inch wide. With wicked sharp tips. Waiting for the correct moment, Markuz carefully examined the windows of the mansion.

The next Brit to show his head would lose it!

Dolin, noticing what Markuz was up to, came out of cover slightly. Acting as if he wasn't aware of this.

Seeiing this, the British witch took point from one of the windows and carefuly aimed for Dolin's exposed neck.

Taking the opportunity, Markuz shot off his darts at an incredible speed.

Eternal Pain Empty Re: Eternal Pain

Dolin dove back into cover as Markuz watched his darts fly true.

From the twenty darts he fired, ten didn't make it through the window and instead drilled into the walls on either side of the window.

The other ten flew through the window. The British witch was hit in the neck, clipped on the ear, through her right shoulder, and most importantly, through her skull right above her left eye.

She was dead before she hit the ground.

Hearing an angered yell coming from the top floor, Markuz and Dolin looked up only to see a true storm of spells flying at them.

Hitting the ground, Markuz conjured multiple barriers, both physical and magical.

Weathering the storm, Markuz got clipped in the side by a chunk of marble which had broken off of one of his shields.

Looking up, he returned fire with two Bombardas before calling out to Dolin.

Not receiving a reaction, Markuz peeked out of his cover.

He immediately wished he hadn't.

Dolin had clearly been hit with multiple spells.

There was bloody foam on his mouth and one of his legs was completely missing. A bone was sticking out of his arm and his ribs were visible, his head did not only miss an eye, it also showed severe flesh burns. He must have suffered horrible.

Supressing his despair and pain, Markuz maintained a "suppressing" fire on the front of the house. If only Tony would hurry up!

Hearing multiple loud bangs come from the back of the house, Markuz sprinted out. Doing some quick counting, he knew the odds were in their favor.

Tony and Markuz were both banged up and tired, but they were facing one fit wizard and a severely injured one.

Hoping Tony could keep at least one of the wizards occupied, Markuz ran into the mansion. Looking around the entrance hall, he spotted the dead body of the wizard they had killed just as he reached the mansion.

Running through the carnage and debris, Markuz sprinted to the sounds of battle.

Turning a corner, he saw Tony giving his best against a completely healthy wizard, who seemed to be toying with Tony. Tony was clearly outmatched and barely held on.

Sneaking up, Markuz didn't notice the second Brit, who was sitting against a wall to the left of the duellists. Clearly wounded, this one was dying. In his last moments on this earth, he spotted a man (Markuz) sneaking up on his brother in arms.

Lifting his wand, he fired the strongest curse he still had the power for, aiming at Markuz his groin. The Nightly Torture Spell.

Markuz was unaware of the spell flying at him, as he advanced on his unaware opponent.

Taking a step forward, Markuz fired the Avada Kedavra at the Brit, who would never know who killed him.

Seeing a pale yellow spell from the corner of his eye, Markuz instinctively rolled, but he couldn't avoid getting clipped in his right knee.

Immediately feeling the pain, as if a spider web of acid was slowly spreading through his knee, Markuz feared the worst. Combining this with the pale yellow colour and he knew what spell he had been hit with.

Acting immediately, Markuz pointed his wand and bellowed the countercurse, "Solarestase!"

As the pain dissappeared, Markuz knew he had been too late to completely avoid the spell's effect.

Walking to Tony, he sighed. He was the highest in rank, which meant that he would be doing the explaining at headquarters.

He would not realize the full extent of the curse until the sun dipped below the horizon...

Now, you know how I got my curse.
I am forced to bear pain every night.
Although the pain is not terrible,
I will never forgive the British for what they did that day.
Just as I know, that if their families knew me as the killer,
they would never forgive me.
