Lesson Four - Fourth Years

Briony sat at the desk in her classroom, after she had been hit by the spell in the streets she had been more than a little altered, and of course she didn't mind that, she thought that it was a good change, after all, it meant that she was getting more and more powerful.

Running her hand through her hair she looked at the empty desks and she waited for the students to arrive in their lessons, hopefully the least they would do would to be to arrive on time,

While she waited Briony took a long drag on her cigarette, she had made a charm to keep the smoke behind her desk, so the children couldn't moan about her doing it, closing her eyes, she waited for the students to arrive, the lesson point was on the board as usual;

'Stupefy'

Airen walked into the classroom. He had been severely tired when he returned from the tournament, and a few days rest was welcome. He soon got bored, however, and he needed to get things done. A bed can only be made so much and a body can only get exercise so many times without tiring. He was glad to get back to classes.

"Good morning, Professor," he said cheerily, as he took his seat at the front of the classroom.

Anette took her seat and looked at the Professor.

She tried to smile , but the only thing she wanted to do was sleeping.

- What am I doing here? - she thought. - This lesson is dangerous, and I do not want to fight with anyone.

She smiled again. Nobody should see her real emotions.

Briony stood up and she flicked her cigarette ash to one side before directing her attention at the two students that was still left in her class, it was kind of pitiful that there was only two students but she hoped that that might change in the course of next year.

However there did seem to be one new student, in Slytherin house, that Briony gazed at with some interest before beginning the lesson.

"Today we are learning about the spell 'stupefy' do you know what this spell does or what it could be used for in a battle situation? Housepoints may be given for correct answers." she said simply, looking directly at the two students as she waited for them to answer her question, if of course they could.

Anette knew only one thing about 'stupefy' and she decided to try to answer, but at the very last moment she changed her mind.

Briony seemed to be very strict professor, and Anette had never been good as a student.

Stop! 'I'm Anette White! I will become famous one day, and there is just one answer. I should try', - she thought.

Despite her real feelings Anette looked confident.

She raised her hand.

Briony noticed that the new student, Anette was raising her hand and she nodded towards her in order to tell her that she could tell he what she thought the answer was, maybe she would even be able to get the answer correct, as Briony hoped to have a different house win the house cup this year, and the runnings were close between Slytherin and Gryffindor.

- Stupefy Is a jet of red light which hits the target, - Anette answered.

Of course her answer was not full and she knew it, but she was the first who tried.

Anette did not like the competition between houses, but she wanted to get her personal scores.

She looked at the Professor trying to guess her opinion about the answer.

Briony nodded her head when the girl answered her question, she was correct of course and she was glad that the new Slytherin child was showing the same promise as the rest of her fourth year students, hopefully she would be able to continue in this manner.

"That is a correct answer, 10 points to Slytherin, stupefy is a stunning curse that will stop any opponent as long as they do not use the protego sheild charm, you will need to use this spell in case you are ever attacked."

Lining herself up with a nearby dummy, Briony closed her eyes, got into her fighting stance, and took out her wand, flicking it sharply from left to right she then jabbed it forwards and cast;

'Stupefy!'

The spell hit the dummy and she then turned to the class;

"You will need to know this spell, you will be tested next year for your examinations. Class dismissed,"
