Bumping Into a Friend (Odette and Humphrey)

Humphrey had been growing a little bit again, and needed to get new robes for the coming school year. There were the plain black ones, which were required for school, as well as tons of other selections. After he had been measured for the plain black school robes, he looked around at all the different robes.

Eventually, he found a set of orange and light blue dress robes that were beautiful. He was trying to decide whether or not to actually buy them. On one hand, he would most likely use them for his last three years at Hogwarts. But, on the other hand, he might not be done growing, and might not use them much after that.

While he was pondering whether otr not to decide, somebody had walked into the store. Now, the person was closer, and he turned around to see a fellow Gryffindor standing there. "Hello, how are you Odette? Has your summer been going well?" Humphrey asked her. Odette was one of his better friends in his year. She was a fun, bubbly person, and was always interesting to talk with.

Odette wondered why she grew so much between only a few weeks. Not only does everything seem like it shrunk a foot, she was uncomfortable with her height. For Merlin's sake, she was nearing six foot tall. But, it was probably for the best. She could be a model, something she would enjoy.

Going to the robe shop, Odette laughed at the eccentric colored robes, and picked out a light blue one. She also got the standard blank ones she needed, along with her skirts and shirts. Frowning, Odette grabbed a few pairs of socks, just in case.

Moving closer to the more brightly colored robes, she recognized a familiar voice. "Hi Humphrey! It's been pretty good. Obviously I've grown." She motioned to her lanky figure. "How has yours been? Wonderful, I hope?" She really got along with the boy, and Odette considered him one of her close friends. Only friends, really.

He was already one of the taller kids in his class before this summer. Now he was a little over six feet tall, and was hoping he would stop growing soon. Honestly, height was nice for some things, but he didn't want to grow that much more.

Humphrey noticed Odette was carrying a pretty light blue robe with her. "Yea, you have. I have too, I'm surprised you are almost as tall as me. You look happy, as usual. Done anything fun?" he asked her. "Mine's been decent, kind of lonely though. Been nice to work on my paintings though, also had a lot of free time to get through my book list. Well, some of the books on my book list." he clarified.

"I see you've picked out some fun robes as well. What do you think of these orange and blue ones?" Humphrey asked her. "Too bright? Or are they okay?"

"I vacationed in Italy for a while. Nothing exciting otherwise." Odette shrugged. Vacationing was what her family did all the time. It was fun for a while, but now it was boring. "Happy as usual? I guess I don't notice how I act." She admitted with a shrug and a easy smile. "I've had no time to read! I've only just gotten back home. I went to Florence, Venice, and Rome. It was lovely." Odette sighed, realizing her feet really hurt from so much walking that she did.

"On you? I think they would be lovely!" Odette replied honestly. "I think they're nice. I don't see why you wouldn't want to get them." Odette grinned at him again, pushing aside a stray red hair that made it in her face.

"You got to vacation in Italy?!?! That sounds amazing." he told her. He hadn't been on a vacation since before his parents were killed. Those were some of his best memories of them, the trips to Myrtle Beach every year. "Yea, you are normally a pretty happy person. It's a good thing, don't worry." Humphrey told her, smiling as well. "Which one was your favorite city, and why?" he asked her. Her sudden sigh was out of the blue, and he wondered if she was bored. "You bored or something?"

"Nope, they're for my imaginary friend stephen." Humphrey teased her. "Yes, they are for me. You really think they would look good on me?: he asked, incredulous. "I might have to get them then. Are those light blue robes for you? They would look gorgeous with your red hair." Odette's hair made her stand out, and he thought that it fit her personality well. She was a bit quirky, just like he was.
