Lucia walked into her classroom, sitting down at her desk. Things had been beyond hectic lately, and she hoped it would change, and that quickly. She waved her wand and the chalk started writing on the board. She hated the words she put up, but in these times, it was needed. 'Imperius Curse' it wrote. She looked up as the class filed in.

"Hello everyone. I am sorry that I wasn't there for your first lesson of the year. But today, the real work begin. You have all lost a lot over the last few months and as you are nearing your OWLS, it is time to be serious about the world. Hogwarts won't protect you from what's out there when school is finished, and you need to be able to stand on your own two feet. I know these are not words you are happy to hear, but they are necessary. And today, you will learn to face and resist the imperius curse. Now, can anyone tell me what this curse does?" she asked calmly.

Humphrey walked into DADA class, and was pleasantly surprised to see Professor Henley back. She was an excellent teacher, and he'd been disappointed when he hadn't seen her the first lesson of the year. When he saw they would be studying the Imperius curse today, he cringed just a bit. That spell was a horrible one, one of the Unforgivable Curses.

"Yes, professor. The Imperius Curse allows you to control another person's actions. It's a terrible spell really." he said. The thought of somebody else controlling him was not a pleasant one.

Airen walked into the DADA classroom, thankful that he could once again participate in this class. He was a little disappointed that there hadn't been a lesson at the beginning of the year, but at least there was a lesson before the Christmas break. He walked casually to his seat, and sat down.

He listened as Humphrey gave the Professor the answer. Airen knew a few details, but he thought them unnecessary. The basics would suffice. Airen just got out his textbook and flipped to the appropriate page for the Imperious Curse.

Charlotte hurried into the classroom and she smiled gently when she saw the Professor once more, what with the war going on you could never be sure that you were going to see the same faces in the class when you returned to it the following week.

Saddened by this depressing though Charlotte walked slowly to her normal seat by Airen and smiled gently, before taking out her parchment and quill, even more frustrated she had not been able to answer the question the professor had asked, even though she knew the answer to it.

Wondering if anyone else would come in, Charlotte waited for the professor to speak once more.

Haley walked into the DADA classroom and was happy to see professor Henley. It also felt good to see Charlotte and Airen and Humphrey again. She sat down and was happy to see that they were learning the effects of one of the unforgivable spells. In her mind, she didn't understand why they hadn't learned it earlier. Things needed to be learned when countries were at war with one another.
