Dinner for Two

Kari was a little upset at Sofia when she kicked her out of the kitchen, in fact they had a little argument over the fact that Sofia wanted to cook tonight. Sofia told Kari that she could do everything else with the preparations.

Sofia had decided to make a small rack of lamb with a mint sauce, baby red potatoes, and baby carrots. With a small side salad with Italian dressing. Everything was set too cook and it was at the point she really didn't have to do anything until the end when she was ready to table it.

Walking over to her couch she grabbed a book she had been reading and sat down to read more of it when she heard the wards go off to alert her to someone at the gates. She knew it was Milfred so she release the ward to allow him to enter.

Noticing that the ward had been released he went though the gates,up to the house and rang the doorbell.He waited for Sofia to open the door.

When Sofia had heard the door bell she went to open the door. Granted she didn't have far to go seeing she was already standing at the door waiting for him.

"Welcome to my home Milfred, do come in." Sofia waved her arm bidding him welcome into the foyer then once he was in he closed the door.

"Can I get you something to drink? Coffee, tea, wine?" Sofia asked as she lead him into the parlor. Sofia had told Kari to finish up the rest of the meal and let her know when it was ready.

"Hi Sofia,"he said before stepping inside the house.He wondered if he should have brought flowers.
"No thanks,"he replied."You have a nice mansion."

Sofia sat down on her couch and smiled at his compliment.

"Thank you, its been in my family for many years." Sofia was sure that Salazar's secret room was in there somewhere she just never found.

"So how has you week been?" Sofia asked

"Your welcome.My week has been fine, how has your week been?"

Sofia smiled and took a sip of the wine she had in her hands,

"My week has not been too bad either. I am just glad to be back teaching because it gives me something to do."

Sofia thought about things. "So what do you like to do for fun?"

Sofia could not remember what all they talked about so she thought they could just refresh.

"Do you have any siblings?"he asked.She already knew about Lessi.

Sofia sighed a little then two a drink, "I had two younger siblings, but they died in a accident while I was locked away. I didn't even get to go to their funeral."

Sofia reached for a tissue on the table to dry the tears that started to fall. It was that time Kari popped in and told her food was ready.

"I hope dinner is too your liking."

Sofia led him into the small dinning area since it was just the two of them.

"Sorry I didn't mean to bring up bad memories,"he said.Family seemed to be a sore spot for so many people these days.

Sofia sighed it wasn't he fault he didn't know about it. "Its ok you didn't know. I have never really talked about my siblings to anyone before"

Kari had set the salads in front of them and she picked up her fork, "Its been a long time since I got to cook for anyone, Kari usually fixes the food."

"I don't usually cook for people either.I don't have a house elf it's just that I don't usually have people over."It tastes good a shame she doesn't usually eat her own cooking,he thought as he ate.

Sofia took a bite of the food, she was glad it didn't taste too bad she had been a little worried.

"So how did you decided to become the type of healer that you are?"

"I don't know it was the only thing I was really passionate about."

"It is very important to be passionate about something, like I am with Astronomy and Divination." Sofia smiled.

"I have no husband and my son is almost grown so I am practically all alone in this big house." Sofia stated.

Sofia smiled, "Well I have to be passionate about something, I like to teach people about what I know."

Sofia was glad when he said the she had him for company, "That is very true that I have a new friend in you."

Sofia smiled and knew that you could never have too many friends and she had hoped that some day she could have more than a couple. She just wanted to be forgiven.

"I hope they want to learn,because I want to show them. I do miss teaching Divination sometimes, but then its better to just teach one class for now."

Sofia smiled, "You do have a point there, but I do have to write up an OWL and exam for two different students."

Sofia smiled over at Milfred and sipped her drink, "So what shall we do now that dinner is down. Would you like a walk around the lake?"
