Dinner (Open)
Terrence was getting hungry and he knew that it was time to eat. He was really glad that he got in and got his potion brewed and still came out without missing any body parts.
Terrence headed to the hall for dinner because Alys said she would have her notes for him so he could catch up on the work that he had missed.
Walking into the hall he was not sure of where he was suppose to go so he looked around until he spotted Alys sitting with some of her friends so he walked over with a smile on his face.
"Well I tried to escape Sweeney but she agreed to let me do my potion in her office, and I escaped in tact." Terrence smiled then bent down and whispered. "At least I think I am anyway."

Alys was sitting at the Muhe table with some friends, contemplating her fond instead of actually eating it. The girl wasn't sure what was wrong actually, she just didn't like the way it smelt today. Pushing the plate away, the girl took a sip of her mango juice and looked up as Terry walked towards her.

Smiling in return, the girl pretended to look him up and down. "You seem intact to me too," she joked before turning to her housemates. "Guys, budge a little and give him some space. Come join us for dinner, Terry."

Re: Dinner (Open)
Tarragon shuffled along to allow Terrance to sit down next to him. He smiled warmly.
"I don't think we've met, I'm Tarragon Zeverai, and you are Terrence, isn't it?" He looked slightly unsure as to whether he was right, but continued to smile nonetheless.
He looked across at Alys with a confused look as to why the Geshick student had sort her out and she'd offered for him to sit at the Muhe table, but decided better than to question her in public.

Terrence sat down in the spot they had provided for him.
"I want to thank you guys for inviting me to join you for dinner, sometimes I am beginning to think that maybe I am in the wrong house. No one in my own house has spoken to me since I have arrived. So I really hope it is ok that I am sitting here." Terry gave a small smile.
"Yes, Tarragon my name is Terrence, Terrence Okinawa. Nice to met you." Terrence turned to shake Tarragon hand.
Looking at the food in front of him, "So what on here is edible?"

She wasn't being rude, when the boy sat across from her and Alys, Zara was just hungry. Upon Tarragon's introduction, she smiled (the best she could with lettuce stuffed in her mouth) and waved her fork. She did have the deciency to wait until she finished chewing before introducing herself.
"Zara," she said to the boy before stuffing another bite of her Cesar Salad into her mouth, making a note to grab Alys some fruit for later since she wasn't eating now.

"We don't mind you sitting with us, Terry," Alys said sensibly. "Besides, I wanted to introduce you to all my friends here. The Highmaster says we live like one big family with no bad blood between houses. Besides, I don't think there are bad houses, just people."
The girl took another sip of her drink before addressing Zara. "You have my Charms notes, right? I promised to lend them to Terry so he could catch up."

Terry piled some food on his plate. Not too much his stomach was still a little upset from the meeting with the Sweeney.
"Nice to meet you too Zara. All of you have such interesting names, and I get stuck with Terry, how boring."
Terry took a bite of his food.
"So do you guys have any favorite subjects yet, or teachers?"

Zara looked up to her friend, intentionally leaving a peice of lettuce hanging from her mouth to make her laugh. She hummed a confirmation and went digging in her bag for the notes. Finding them in her Defence book, she pulled the out, a little wrinkled. A slight blush crossed her face when she handed them over.
"Sorry. My bag is a danger zone. "

Alys laughed at Zara's antics before reaching over to push the bit of lettuce back into her mouth with a finger.
"Terry, please don't mind us. As Tarragon here can tell you, Zara and I aren't always the sanest people in the world, but we have fun."
Reaching over for the notes, the girl noticed that they weren't that badly wrinkled. In fact, they were still very readable. Silently, she thanked the heavens she had used her neat handwriting. Retrieving her Transfiguration and Defense notes from her own bag, the witch clipped them together neatly with a paperclip before handing them over to Terry.
"Here you go, I hope you find these helpful."
To his question on teachers, Alys didn't even hesitate before replying. "Oh, I defiantly like Dark Arts, and Professor M is really cool. She's strict but she also teaches really well."

Terrence finished what was in his mouth then wiped his hands and mouth before taking the notes from Alys.
"Thank you, I am sure this will help loads." Terry looked around for where he placed his bag and when he found it he placed the notes neatly in one of his books.
"I have always been too much of a neat freak, I like to be able to find and read things. No offense Zara." Terry smiled hoping she didn't take him wrong.
"My siblings were always the messy ones, but then I always wondered why I was so neat."

"I wouldn't say our names are too far apart, Terry. If you shortened mine it would be very similar. But please don't, only scumbags call me Tarry, and I don't think you are one of them."
He smiled at Terry. Watching the interlude between the girls with Zara's bag.
"You'll soon be condemed much like myself to the torture of putting up with these two when they are together. They will drive you mad, believe me, but I'll tell you something. Mad is good within these walls!" He winked mischieviously. "Besides, it will be good to have another guy around to keep me sane, just so long as you aren't going to be a dumb head who just talks Quidditch and nothing else like the other Muhe boys!"
"Favourite lesson and teacher?" Tarragon paused for a minute, "Lehrer Krulle and defence. She let me hex her in our first lesson, was quite fun! Most of the other teachers are creepy!"

Re: Dinner (Open)
Alys halfheartedly kicked Tarragon's leg under the table for the "mad" comment, smiling innocently at him over their food. But other than the boy's joking, the girl was rather interested in what Terry had said earlier.
"So how did you end up being so neat?" she asked, knowing better than to tell him she was simply orderly, not a neat freak herself. Alys actually liked a little mess, it made a place looked lived in, as her Mama always said.
"Really good genes from a distant aunt or uncle?"

Re: Dinner (Open)
Tarragon gave Alys a meaningful look that she'd be in trouble once their guest had left them, before smiling at the conversation taking place. They were talking about tidyness, something Tarragon only cared about when it was his hair and clothes. His room? He didn't care for whether it was a mess or not. That of course was what house elfs were for.
And his handwriting, it was typically male, hardly legible to anyone but the owner, just the way he liked it.

Re: Dinner (Open)
Terrence tried to hid a smile when Tarragon mentioned the name Tarry. "I guess in that way I would much rather be called Terry." Taking a sip of his juice.
Looking around at the two ladies as Tarragon began to talk about them. I will be more than happy to provide you some male friendship to level out the ladies here." Terry smiled as he looked at Alys and Zara."
He couldn't help but whisper at Tarragon "Are they really that bad, never been around groups of girls all that much."
"Also how can I talk about Quidditch when I don't know what it is." Terry looked at Tarragon with a confused looked on his face.
"As for your question Alys" as he turned back to Alys.
"I really do not know seeing I was adopted I am not sure where it comes from." Terrence had gotten used to the idea over the last year so it doesn't bother him to talk so plainly about it.

"Exactly! And of course they aren't that bad really! Otherwise I'd be sat with the other boys being mind numbed by Quidditch talk." He paused, "You don't know Quidditch?! I will have to show you, you've flown though, right?"
Tarragon was excited to show Terry Quidditch, it was one of the best things about being a wizard, after all!

Re: Dinner (Open)
Alys didn't know what she found more surprising, the fact that Terry didn't know the most popular sport in the world or that he was adopted. Both ideas seemed equally foreign to the girl. But then, realizing he might be self conscious about, it, she herself admitted honestly. "I had never flown before coming to school. To be honest, I'm still not a great flyer but look at it this way, if I can pick it up, how hard can it be?"
"Tarragon and Zara are pretty awesome though," she added happily. "In fact, if we ever have a Quidditch team, Zara would be the first one to try out." Alys knew Zara kept her passion for flying under wraps but the blonde wanted people to know how really talented the redhead was.

Re: Dinner (Open)
Terrence had to laugh when Tarragon said that they were really not that bad.
"Well I guess that is a good thing. Need to be surrounded by good people. It would be nice if I could switch houses, least I feel welcomed here." Terry smiled and then took another drink. Food was all but forgotten.
When Tarragon talked about flying Terry had no clue. "Actually I have never flown before, you mean like on a broom right." Terry felt really stupid at the moment. But when Alys commented about not flying until she got to school he felt a little better.
"Let me give you a little story, Alys knows a little already. Up until an year ago I didn't even now what a wizard was. It was not until I received a mysterious letter did I even know about this school."
Not that everything was a secret so Terry did not feel bad in sharing.

Re: Dinner (Open)
Tarragon had to do his best not to gape at the other boy not knowing about his true self. He couldn't think of anything to say to that, all his life he'd known about what he truly was, and his parents had promoted everything about being a wizard to him all the time.
How could Terry not know? He looked at Alys for help on something to say, he didn't want to look like an idiot in front of his new friend.

Re: Dinner (Open)
Terry noticed that Tarragon looked a little worried about what to say.
"Hay don't worry about saying anything wrong to me. Its ok really. Think its weird to you try riding in my shoes."
"My whole life I lived as a muggle as I am told, then my parents die and suddenly a who new world appeared to me."
Terry was enjoying this conversation and was hoping that these new friends can teach him all about the world of wizarding.

Re: Dinner (Open)
Alys listened intently to Terry, not interrupting him so as to make him feel like he could say whatever he wanted to. As she herself had learned recently, it was good to get things off one's chest.
"Well, in terms of flying and Quidditch, you don't have to worry," she finally said. "I'm sure you'll hear so much about the sport from everyone, you'll know the rules by heart in no time. As for flying, we have a lesson for that. But if you want to learn privately, you can always ask better flyers, like Annika in Verstand or Tarragon right here. That girl Annika is so good, she doesn't even need lessons."

"I guess I better look into that flying class, then I can fly around in circles." Terry laughed
"So Alys what things are you good at, currently the only thing I can do is brew one potion without killing myself."
"Let's see I can read, so I guess thats a plus."

Re: Dinner (Open)
"Not really much actually," the witch replied honestly after another sip of her mango juice. Now that she came to think about it, there was nothing special about her, that set her apart from everyone else. She wasn't naturally talented at any subject, she only got decent grades by studying and wasn't involved in any outdoor activities.
"I'm thinking of taking up ice skating though," she said in case the boy thought her totally useless. "So who knows, I might get really good at that someday. But other than that, I guess I'm interested in Dark Arts. Though I wouldn't call myself "good" at them."

Re: Dinner (Open)
Tarragon smiled at Terry's ease on the subject.
"I'm an orphan to Terry, always here should you need me" he smiled, the smile getting bigger when Alys said she was considering taking up ice skating."I took Alys out onto the ice for the first time last night, and I've promised to teach her everything I know, so if you see either one of us near the infirmary you know why!"
Tarragon laughed, waiting for Alys' oncoming revenge.

Re: Dinner (Open)
Terrence was thinking of what kind of things interested him.
"I have gone ice skating once, but watching someone fall and get their fingers sliced by another person's skates. That was it for me." Terry just cringed at the thought
Terry laughed at the thought of having to visit them in the hospital because they let each other be stupid. "What kind of flowers do you prefer?"
Terrence found it interesting when Tarragon said he was a orphan too. "I am hoping that I will not be an orphan for long. I have discovered who my real parents are, but why they gave me up is a mystery."
That was a mystery that Terry was wanting to uncover.
"Until and after that time Tarragon, I will always consider you my friend."

Re: Dinner (Open)
Zara had been silently listening to the conversation while she finished her salad. She couldn't stop the chuckle that emitted from her mouth at Tarragon's joke. Alys, she could tell wasn't to happy, and seemed to be planning her revenge. Zara decided to help her, hoping that, maybe, she could worm her way out of her friends wrath for her own joke.
She grabbed her fork and a left over cruton and flicked it towards Tarragon, the dressing covered food landing perfectly in his hair.
She smirked before turning to Terry. "Don't let Alys lie to you. She's great at everything she does. "
