First Lesson Occlumency-All Years

[Kiera de Auvergne]

Kiera tapped her feet impatiently on the floor, fingers enacting a similar pattern on the wooden table. Usually she was a mixture of languid boredom, or active strictness in her lessons, but today's tension was new. It was all because of that night......no, she refused to think of it. The memory was accursed, yet dear, and shadowed her mind at almost all hours of the day.

Kiera's restless fingers skimmed through the examination papers of last term. This class she intended to discuss a few of the questions with the students, and correct some common mistakes. Of course, all of that would only happen once the students turned up.

[Naomi Narcissa Night]

Naomi was slightly nervous about attending Potions once again. She didn't particularly do well on the exam but Potions was one of her better subjects though she was better at Dueling then anything else.

As she slid into the classroom she fought the fear to shiver at the tension that resided in the room. It made her feel intimidated and scared but she would pull through. As she slid into her seat she tried to relax but found that the tension that resided in the room was too much for her.

[Humphrey Williams]

Humphrey was excited for the Occlumency classes to begin again more than any other class. He found it fascinating the things you could learn to do with your mind. If he became an auror, which he was planning on, this would also be very useful if somebody ever tried to break into his mind. He couldn't ask for a better teacher than Miss Auvergne, she really was a great instructor.

Miss Auvergne and him, they were kind of friends in a way, though they hadn't spent that much time together recently. Though she always denied it, he had a feeling she was seeing somebody. It made him happy to imagine her with a guy, though what guy would be crazy enough to try dating her would have to be pretty special. She was a great person, but had quite a rough exterior. Deep down he knew she had a good heart though, he had always seen it in her.

"Morning Professor Auvergne, it's good to see you." he told her as he took a seat next to Naomi. Humphrey waved at the fellow Gryffindor, she was a blond and kept to herself for the most part. They had talked a few times over the years, but not enough to be considered friends really, more acquaintances.

[Lucas Woodham]

Lucas shuffled rather awkwardly into the Occlumency classroom and took a seat behind the blonde girl. He had received a 'P' in his Occlumency OWL. He supposed it was his fault, since he didn't study very well for Occlumency, so he was only able to answer a few questions.

No matter, though. Occlumency really wasn't his best subject, so he wasn't very disappointed when he got his Occlumency results. But, of course, this year he wanted to give his best.

[Nicholas Cathin]

Nicholas entered the classroom with a new set of bruises and cuts all over his face and his body. He had been pushing himself further than before in his out of lesson studies. His progress with battle magics was not without sacrifice however, some of the people he practiced against were less than happy to be pushed into fighting a fifteen year old.

Sitting down at his desk he hoped that the professor and the other students wouldn't make a big deal of the injuries. They were all easy to deal with and none of them hurt too much after all. And he was barely dripping at all.

Her class seemed to be full of Gryffindors today. One of them even appeared-injured?-but Kiera ignored it and stood up, sharp eyes scanning the class. After all, it was none of her business if the students chose to pursue....other fields, outside her classes. Added to the fact that she was still a weapons dealer, Kiera paid no heed to what appeared to be just a few nicks and cuts.

"Good morning students. Today we're going to go over some of the common mistakes that most of you made in the last term examinations." Kiera held up the sheaf of answer sheets that were placed on her desk. "Your answers were......appropriate, but a few errors were rampant and occurred in every sheet without fail, which is perhaps why no one here scored an Outstanding. Lets hope we shall be able to remedy that next time." Kiera leaned forward, tossing the papers back on to the desk. "One question was based on the different types of memory that a Legilimens can access, long-term, short-term and sensorial. To answer that properly, you first need to understand the terms. What is sensorial memory?"
