"I don't think that's true, Tess. Before Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin started arguing over whether every magical person or just people of magical descent everybody was friends and got along well. People seem to forget that Gryffindor and Slytherin were the best of friends before they were the best of enemies. Our problem is prejudiced, if we just consider the people in the houses and not that we are supposed to be at each other's throats, I think we could get along. Airen shares my opinion, as well as Charlotte." he explained this to her with a confident tone in his voice.

She sighed.

"I know the story of Hogwarts and it's creation" she said. "I've read Hogwarts a History many times over. But honestly, sometimes its' for the best...some people just can't get along and this si why there is some division"

She shrugged and let out a small smile.

"All I know is, it happens for a reason and sometimes this is why the division is there."

"Yes, but some divisions are in place because people are afraid of change. Are you, Tess? Are you afraid of change and improvement upon old prejudices with progress and equality? I would have thought no, but after what you just said I'm not so sure." he said.

Her lips twitched.

"Well aren't you pushy?" she murmured. "No, in fact I am not afraid of change...my friend she's a half blood...and I don't mind that"

"I thought you weren't, that's why I was surprised by your response. Well, what do you think of mudbloods as most slytherins call my kind."

She winced hearing the tone.

"D-don't say that word either" she said wrinkling her nose. "Those words are not to be said aloud, it's disturbing. They don't bother me, I know a few Muggleborns"

What? I'm proud of my blood. I won't avoid the word, i'm not afraid of people using it. I would just defend myself. I didn't think that me being a muggleborn would bother you...so, I think we should start a Hogwarts book club. What do you think? And what do you think our first book should be?" he asked Tess, fairly certain she would agree with him.

She shook her head at the term, it was so..so derogatory.

"Then please don't mention it around me...it's practically a sin in my house to say that word." she murmured.

But her feeling of discomfort soon ended at the mention of a book club, and a slow smile graced her face and she lifted her hand so the sleeve of her cardigan could mask it. She didn't want to act too excited.

"What do you mean by a book club?"

"Sorry, it is just that I am proud of who I am. I won't bring it up, I normally say Muggleborn any way. I mean, you, and me co-head the group. We vote on a book once we post a sign-up list in the library and house common rooms. We ask friends if they want to join. Then once we have our people, we have each person nominate a book. Then we vote, and eliminate it until we have one. Meet every Saturday in the abandoned tower, I scoped it out. It is nice, and even quieter than the library is. Which is cool. Discuss the book and make predictions, and once we finish it. Well, we repeat the process. But not after everybody says how they wished the book would have ended and said their favorite scene of it, and favorite characters, and explained why. So? What do you say?" he asked her. He liked this girl. He was really getting on well with all the Slytherins except Tabi Prewett.

She couldn't disguise her curiosity and immediately nodded.

"I think that sounds perfect" she said smiling. "But I don't know anyone who would want to join" she added frowning.

"I think I know three people who might, might be interested. Parker Emery, Leshia Prewett, and Haley Smith. All are right here in the library. Let's go ask them what they think of the idea. I'll let you pitch it after I introduce you." he led her over to the study group.

She bit her lip and nodded. She knew who they were but still....she didn't want to intrude.

"I-I don't want to be a bother...how about you tell them and I-I stay here"

"Nope, Tess. We are co-heads remember. My idea, you get to pitch it. Come on, they won't bite. Just picture them all in their underwear, always helps me." he told her with a wink.

"No thanks" she said as she wrinkled her nose.

"You're such a pervert" she commented smirking.

He was funny, she'd give him that.

"Hey, just because your mind is in the gutter doesn't mean mine is. I don't feel that way about you, don't flatter yourself. Maybe once you start getting your curves..." he said, trying to get her to loosen up. "We aren't leaving until you pitch this to them. Honestly, Haley Smith is the nicest person on the planet. Talk to her, she will make you feel a little better." he said, as he walked behind her and lightly pushed her forward right in front of Haley.

She blinked confused and turned red at his comment.

"Ew! No, Merlin no" she said and tugged her cardigan tighter. "I meant about the underwear comment, oh jeesh Humphrey"

She tried to hide her amusement in all of this but still it was embarrassing. Well before she knew it she was being pushed ahead by him and huffed. She needed to get taller eventually.

"Okay, now speak." he said, addressing her like a six year old kid telling his parents he did something wrong. "Come on, say what you need to say." he told her, crossing his arms across his chest.

She huffed and turned back to look at him.

"This is stupid" she murmured annoyed. "You do it, I-I don't want to do it"

She didn't want to get attention she'd do fine one at a time but a group, that wasn't normal for her.
