"Ii think you managed to look better than all the other boys here, though I think Zara would disagree and say the same for Terry," Alys joked, but then, remembering how much her friend had done for her these last few days, figured the least she could do it keep the teasing to a minimum. Grinning as the perfect distraction came to mind, the girl finished her punch and turned to Tarragon.

"Herr. Zeverai, would you do me the honor of a dance," she said in extremely formal tones, affecting a posh German accent that would have gotten her laughed at back at her own small hometown. Extending a pale wrist towards the boy, the blonde waited, her pendant winking various shades of blue as it caught the lights.

"I'd be delighted to!" He took Alys hand and led her to the middle of the dance floor. A quick bow to her and he started to sway with the music, his other hand carefully placed on her hip. He smiled down at her before remembering something he hadn't told her yet.

"I forgot to tell you when you we were studying the other night." He looked down to check she was listening, still swaying, "Lehrer Krulle has offered me an apprenticeship! I've got a Defence Apprenticeship!"

He beamed from ear to ear, waiting for Alys' reaction to be shown to him.

Alys though still not much of a dancer but learning slowly under Zara's influence, swayed to the music, smiling at the tune. She was still basking in the fact that the school year was over and that she would be home soon when Tarragon looked at her.

"Lehrer Krulle has offered me an apprenticeship! I've got a Defence Apprenticeship!"

The witch stopped as if stunned at the words, unable to believe her ears. Did he... Did Tarragon just... As the weight of the statement sunk in, the witch forgot all about the music and flung herself at the boy, hugging him tightly.

"I can't believe you didn't tell anyone before now," she squealed against his jacket, ignoring the music and the students dancing around them. "I cannot believe you didn't say anything until now," she repeated again, pulling away so he could hear her better. "I'm so so happy for you! An apprenticeship with Lehrer Krulle at twelve, that must be some sort of a record!"

Tarragon had hardly finished when Alys was crushing him with her hug, he smiled at her warmth, unable to hug her back since she'd caught his arms up in the hug.

"I can't believe you didn't tell anyone before now, I cannot believe you didn't say anything until now! I'm so so happy for you! An apprenticeship with Lehrer Krulle at twelve, that must be some sort of a record!"

"Well, I couldn't just tell anyone! I had to tell you first, and well it had to be at the right time. So you think I should do it? And you think its a record? I mean I don't know what I'll have to do, what it will involve. Heck I don't even know whether I'll be good at it!"

Truth be told, he didn't know the answer to any of it, but he was still far too excited to even care! He'd do the apprenticeship. The only thing that would stop him from doing anything was Alys and Zara's combined wrath, and seeing as Alys had actually hugged him, without the awkward tension, he gathered he had her blessing to do it.

"Of course you should do it, silly! You're the best dueler in our year. I mean, I know Zara knows some nasty jinxes but she doesn't duel. And, you love defense, and Lehrer Krulle is strict but so perfectly good at what she does." The blonde realized she was babbling and stopped, blushing at the fact that they were causing disruptions on the dance floor. Slipping her arms around him again, she got back into the soft shuffle but in actuality, wasn't paying attention to the music at all.

"I don't doubt for a second that it would be hard work but if anyone can do it, you can!" she said, smiling brightly up at him. "And we seriously need to go to the Music Bar sometime next year to celebrate. That is if Mr. Hot Shot Apprentice will still remember us little people when we come back to school."

If Zara was blushing when Terry tool her hand, then her face was even redder when he kissed it and started spinning her, taking in her entire look.

"Here let me get a better look at you. I love the dress, very interesting"

She smiled sweetly and took a peak at his light colored suit, noticing how it set of his dark hair and eyes making him look rather handsome.

"Why thank you, Mr. Okinawa. You don't look to bad yourself."

"Well hopefully not. I'm hoping for something interesting to happen."

Lucian grinned a little, he sure didn't mind standing her all night although his legs would get abit tired, he looked around and saw that there was a group of students who seemed to be altogether very happy and he rolled his eyes slightly.

"What are they? The 'IT' group of Durmstrang?"

Sighing he gripped Violeta's hand and decided that dispite his awful dancing skills, he would treat them all to a laugh and show them off once in a while.

"Would you do me the honour, of trying to make me look not as idiotic, while we dance together?" he asked, bowing low and kissing the top of Violeta's hand.

Aquila rolled her eyes.

"Probably, not that I would care either way." Aquila responded, looking to the group that looked happy and cheerful. How wonderful, Aquila thought to herself sourly. She turned back to Lucian and her eyes flitted to his and Violeta's interlocked hands.

When he said he would dance, Aquila smirked and her eyes lit up.

"This will be fun, let's see if you're as dreadful as you think." Aquila clapped her hands together and made herself comfortable against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest as she readied herself for some entertainment.

Tarragon tried not to let the last comment of Alys' get to him, knowing she didn't really mean it, but it did nonetheless.

"Alys, I should hope you will always know that I would never wish to miss a moment that I could spend with you, Terry or Zara. Yes, I will be hard pushed next year, but that doesn't mean I can't make time for you." He smiled. The pendant he had brought her was shining brightly blue. At least now he'd always know what was what with Alys. "So, are you busy this summer? Other than the wedding, are you planning on seeing anyone?"

He smiled hopefully, he'd like to see her over the holidays, but only if that was what she wanted too.

After Tarragon asked the question, he spun her around to the music, making the witch laugh as her golden hair whirled through the air with her actions.

Once back in place, she informed him of her summer plans. " Not at all. Summer's not for being busy, its for lazing at the beach, and sleeping and procrastinating on your summer homework," she grinned. "Besides, Zara's Papa just wrote to her today giving her permission to stay with me for the first three weeks. He's working overtime so that when I go to stay with her for the next few weeks, he'll have lots of time to spend with us. Zara and I have halved the summer at each other's places and our parents don't seem to mind. Or at least, they won't until they actually see us together." As she talked, the girl could almost feel the salty sea wind in her hair and the sand underneath her feet. And no sign of the blasted snow anywhere.

Tarragon smiled as Alys' eyes showed she was no longer in the room, she missed her home, and her family. He wondered what that would be like to have such loving parents and a loving home to return to this summer. He shook himself, and decided better of it to dwell on things he couldn't change.

"Alys, I know you've made plans with Zara. But do you think you'd like to spend just one week at my house? I mean, Zara is welcome, as is Terry..." He trailed off, not wishing to push the young witch into something she didn't want to do. "What I mean is, you're all very welcome to come stay, there is plenty of room, and only Mrs. Hudson to worry about. No rules."

He finished, twirling her in the dance again he smiled as the necklace sparkled blue. He noted Alys' dancing was much better than the start of the year, Zara must have been teaching her in their dormitory he decided. He waited for Alys to give him an answer. If she said no, that would be fine. But he hoped deep down that she'd say yes.

Lucian tilted his head to one side, he was waiting of course for Violeta's approval, he would never whisk someone away without asking them, especially since she was going to be subject to his awful dancing.

He was going to look like a demented chicken, but hopefully they would think he was cute and let him be.

"Well lets watch me take center floor and totally blow them all away with my sprinkler move, oh yeah, real hit with the ladies." he winked

Rolling his eyes he stuck his tongue out at Aquila and waited for Violeta to tell him yay or nay.

"You're really funny Aquila, at least I'm going to attempt to dance."

Terry noticed as Tarragon lead Alys out onto the floor, so Terry placed his hand behind Zara's back as his said " May I have this dance Ma'am?"

As he twirled her a around a moment and then they proceed with a slow dance. Ever such the gentlemen, one hand on her waist and the other holding her hand out with a couple of inches between them.

"So now Ms. Zara you have heard many things about me, now tell me a little about you. Say your favorite flower?"

Violeta smiled at Lucian he wanted to dance with well she did not want to dance with any of the other boys so she looked into his eyes.

Of course I will dance with you Lucian. There is other boy here that I would like to dance with. Your dancing can't be that bad either." She laughed a little she believed that everyone deserved a chance to be proved wrong.

Alys looked up in surprise at the invitation. She wondered if Tarragon knew what he was getting himself into, inviting both her and Zara over. There would probably be nothing let of Zeverai House once the two witches were done with it. Maybe that's why Terry needed to be there so that both boys could keep each other sane.

"Danke," she smiled up at Tarragon at the invitation. "That sounds wonderful but I'll have to check with my Mama and Papa. Sadly, I do have to follow rules but I'll let you know as soon as give me an answer."

Zara smiled as Terry spun her onto the dance floor and they began to sway with the music. One hand in his and her other on his shoulder.

"So now Ms. Zara you have heard many things about me, now tell me a little about you. Say your favorite flower?"

"Jasmine," she said. "My Mum and I used to have a garden and that was my favorite one, when it grew. That was until earlier this year when Alys showed me a blue rose. "

Terry thought about what she said.

"Jasmine"

"Jasmine, what an interesting choice, most girls always go for the rose first. My mother always preferred Carnations herself." Terry smiled at that thought, wonder what his other mother liked.

Then Zara started to talk about another flower the blue rose

"Blue rose is also and interesting choice, most woman like red." Terry spun her out again and back too him and then the song came to an end.

"Shall we head over to the drinks? I am feeling a little parched." He offered her his arm.

"Red roses are pretty but they're so common. " Terry spun her out again as the song ended before requesting a drink.

"We shall," she said, taking his arm and walking with him to the refreshments table.
"What are your plans for break?"

Terry had though a lot about what he was going to do during break. Now that he had connect with his sister he was going to spend the summer with her.

"Well now that I have connected with my biological sister, I am spending the break with her, and hopefully maybe I can spend some time with Tarragon, Alys, and you of course." Terry smiled as her handed her a drink.

"What exactly are your plans?"

Lucian smiled and lead Violeta over to the dance floor, right in the center, he was going to make sure that she would be the most beautiful girl at the ball, she was already, but shed also have the most handsome boy at the ball to dance with.

Taking her waist with wide eyes Lucian gulped and took her hand in his own, wide eyed he moved around the hall looking at Violeta's feet so he didn't stand on them, standing a way away from her so he could see properly and almost forgetting to pick her up when the music suggested he should.

"Now you see?" he said with a pout "I'm a useless dancer."

Tarragon noticed Zara and Terry had left the floor to grab a drink, he nodded in their direction, dancing off the floor towards them.

"I think it time to ask the other two, don't you?" He asked Alys, leading her by the hand to her best friend. He grabbed them both a drink when they caught up, passing one to Alys. Turning to the other two, he asked. "Would you two like to come to mind for a week in the holidays? And, yes Zara, I know you and Alys have arranged things, but Alys said she could take time out of her schedule, should she be allowed by her parents. And Terry, you are welcome as much as you like, but I'm sure we could all spend at least a week together in the holidays, couldn't we?"

He smiled hopefully at the other two. Alys had seemed keen, so hopefully the other two were as well.

Terry was talking with Zara about the break when he noticed Tarragon and Alys walk up to them and take a seat. Apparently they had been discussing the break also.

"Would you two like to come to mind for a week in the holidays? asked Tarragon

"Interesting that you should ask that "T" we were just discussing that very thing. I was telling her that I have recently connect with my biological sister and she has invited me to her place for the break. But I was hoping I could spend some of it with you guys. Maybe teach me some more things."

Terry looked over at Zara awaiting her answer.

"That's a great idea. I would love to,"she said before taking a quick sip of her drink. "I'll need to ask Papa first, of course, though I don't see why it would be a problem."

She turned to Tarragon. "Perhaps we could meet towards the end of break and leave for school together."

Violeta smiled at his attempt of dancing honestly he was not too bad but he did need a little help luckily she was up to the challenge. "Well honestly you are not to bad at dancing just need some help in you technique and lucky for you I am willing to teach you how to dance if you want to learn." She had been dancing since she was young, going to extravagant parties and dances.

She smiled and held her hand out to him again to take if he wanted to try again but this time she would try and lead him in the steps. Her other hand touched her hair for a moment just to make sure that it was still in place. Violeta waited to see if he was willing for her to instruct him how to dance.

When Violeta said that she would help him learn to dance Lucian flushed a little bit, embarrassed that he had to be taught to do anything after a hundred years or so, if he hadn't learnt by now...there was no hope for him he often thought.

"If you want to, I warn you, I get awfully moody under critique, apologies in advance."

When the music changed to a more up tempo dance number Lucian sighed happily and took Violeta's hand in his own again, he was much better at dances that had no strict moves.

"Oh, and your hair looks beautiful, just like the rest of you Violeta, you never need to check your appearance, it's always magnificent." he took Violeta's hand and kissed it softly.
