Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Charlotte was glad when her methods were accepted, she didn't want to lose her house points after all. It was helping her to gain more confidence in answering questions in class and in general speaking up about her ideas or opinions.
When Papa told her what the problem was, Charlotte wondered what she would personally do in this situation, she immediately discounted assisted suicide, using a knife, or a sword.
Having carefully thought it out Charlotte raised her hand, hopefully the detail of her plan wouldn't scare anybody:
"Uhm, me personally I would use a contact poison, so, you could dress in accordance to the party, go up to address the Mark, concealed in your hand would be a small needle when you shake hands with the man the needle goes in. After that, you walk away, ensure the potion doesn't take effect for a good half an hour and then you would have a convenient phone call from someone and have to leave before the Mark died..."
Taking a breath, Charlotte said: "So the Mark dies, you get chance to escape, and nobody else is hurt."

Victoria hadn't raised her hand in time for her answers to be added to the list, so she wrote them down in her notebook for later if need be.
Airen's idea about the weapon being hidden in everyday things made her think of a show she saw on TV once about different warriors and their methods.
She raised her hand. "If the assassin was skilled with muggle guns they could hide a small one in a camera. When the mark is giving a speech or a lot of attention is on them, use the camera."
Victoria wasn't really confident in her answer, but she really wanted to participate.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Parker tried to think hard about the scenario. The answer was not clear to him. But he did see possible flaws in the others.
"Well, with the poison, what if residue was left on their hand and they some how transferred it to another person. There could be too many chances to pass it on... With the gun, once the shot was fired, even if from an unknown source, the guards would block all way of escape and you couldn't get out..." his sighed, his what-ifs were a stretch, but he figured it was good to think of every possible thing that could go wrong. Parker continued trying to wrack his brain for a so called 'solution.' Not being detected and stealth didn't matter as long as there was a means of escape, as the prof. had just told them. Think, it had to be simple.
Sure a well placed distance spell would be simple enough, but there were far too many chances of others getting in the way and drawing a wand would cause attention. Perhaps getting in close with the target if he's with other guests. But how? Parker struggled with this theoretical scenario.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Charlotte raised her eyebrow as Parker critiqued her approach, she knew that it was correct because her father had used it many times so she decides that being corrected was something she did not like in the slightest.
Raising her hand again, Charlotte said in a cool voice:
"Although Mr. Emery makes a good point, the use of the needle would ensure no potion or poison would be able to get onto others, that would be like worrying a shot would leak out your arm after you'd had it."
Taking a deep breath Charlotte smiled and continued:
"And actually the use of contact poison would not pass the poison to any other person he touched because you would make it to the consistency of alcohol gel, or make it extra absorbable therefore the instant you touched the man the poison would absorb itself."

Parker nodded, listening and quite interested. He didn't know even the slightest about poison's, which apparently Charlotte knew a lot about. He had been making a guess in some attempt to participate and although the subject matter was morbid, he was glad to be learning from it. Learning was learning after all. And speaking of which he make a not so serious note to himself to be weary of getting on Charlotte's bad side. He smiled a little, thinking her far too kind to do such a thing. Living with a man that as scary as the prof. however, Parker thought, she was bound to pick up some things.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Keiba listened to Charlotte and Parker debating her solution, when a thought struck her. She raised her hand. "Charlotte, what if somebody realised what you were doing and before the half hour was up, found the antidote and gave it to the Mark? Wouldn't it be better to give yourself... say two minutes instead? Personally I think poison is the simplest option, but I would've put it in a drink and played the part of a staff member. Of course, the poison would have to be tasteless, colourless and odorless, undetectable, but easy enough to dissolve quickly in a drink. Get it in at the very end of your shift, then leave asap." That was her idea.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Airen thought through how the party would go, the weaknesses in the defenses, the lapses when the guards change their watches, he thought through everything. He listened to the debate about the poison. Charlotte seemed to come up with a good solution, and he agreed with her method.
Airen raised his hand. "One way to go about it, sir, would be to use the party as a chance for recon. You get the target familiar with your presence, while you evaluate his home, his social life, and his weaknesses. Get him alone after a few months or so, then he's as good as dead. However, if you have to kill him that night, hide in his own house, and kill him in his sleep," Airen said. He thought it through, he knew there were holes because in the real world, anything can happen.
