Keiba leaned over and poked Haley. "Partners?" she asked. Charlotte had moved over to pair up with Air, so she figured it would be logical. "Do you want to go first? Or shall I do the honours?" Keiba grinned.

Tabi looked around the room and it looked like everyone else had a partner. She would have had Ivano but it didn't look like he was taking this class.

"Ms. Henley, I do not seem to have a partner?" This was weird for her to ask for help. She would have asked Tess but she knew she would be with Victoria.

Just then Tabi noticed that Pxyis and Parker were not together. She wondered what had happened to them so she decided to go over to Parker.

"Hey Parker" She said looking at the ground. "Do you want to be my partner?"

Airen took notes on what the professor taught. He Looked around at who he should be partners with. He noticed that most everybody was either not a good partner for him, or they already had one. When Charlotte asked if he wanted to be partners, he nodded his head.

"Of course, Charlotte. It'd be my pleasure," he said. "Ladies first?" he suggested. He wanted to make sure that he wouldn't hurt Charlotte if he did the spell. He was better at taking pain.

Parker had ducked his head as he took his seat, a bit embarrassed for being late. When hearing that they'd need to be paired up he looked around the room. He noticed how upset Pxyis looked and wished he just had a chance to talk to her, sort it all out. This was getting to be agonizing. And the prospect of being winded to the ground didn't sound very pleasant either.

When Tabi approached him, he looked up at her. Parker furrowed his eyebrows a bit at her questions glancing to Pxyis. He looked down at his desk and mumbled slightly. "Erm, sure...but, I don't want Pxyis to not have a partner..."He concluded that he really hated pairing up. It wasn't the people. They were all fairly kind. But the exclusion and the whole having to possible hurt someone with a spell, and god forbid if you're paired with someone you don't know or particularly like. That's just a whole new level of discomfort and awkward tension.

Tabi was a little ticked about his comment.

"I ain't gona twist your arm Parker, if you don't want to be my partner then fine."

Tabi didn't really care if he was or not she just knew she needed a partner and he didn't have one.

"I haven't seen you and Pxyis say two words to each other since we got here, so I figured your little friendship was over."

He could not deny that one, they hadn't been seen together.

"So what happen, she decide she didn't like muggleborns?"

He rolled his eyes a bit at what he deemed to be the slightly dramatic tone in her voice. "I-I didn't mean that...just sit. Fine." He glanced back up at her. "It's just a..misunderstanding, an argument. Friends don't stop being friends over a few arguments..."

He rested his elbows on the table, putting his face in his hands. He let out a quiet groan and muttered into his hands, trying to keep his voice low. "Are you serious? Why would that even be the first thing to come to mind??"

He lowered his hands and flipped open his book. "Whatever. Let's just to this." He was irritated. Not by her exactly, she'd hardly done anything. She probably wasn't in a good mood either and couldn't blame her.
His whole day had just not been very good, and he started to feel a bit bad for taking it out by being rude to her. Honestly, he just wanted to go to sleep, have the day be over with. The closer step to that was to get this spell down and be done with the class.

Tabi sat down next to Parker, she honestly didn't care about Pxyis and him she was just trying to find out answers to someone elses questions.

She had heard his question on why she would assume that their fight had something to do with being a muggleborn. She bent over and whispered in his ear.

"Pureblooded Slytherin, remember thats why" Tabi plainly stated

"Lets just get this spell done so I can leave you in your misery. You can hex me first if it will make you feel better."

He lowered his head to the book, reading the small section on the spell as he told her, "Well, I think that's stupid. Pxyis isn't like that. And I'm not Hexing you." So this wind spell. Why did all the spells they had to do involve knocking the other over if powerful enough? He closed the book and stood up with a sigh.

"You just...you do the jinx first. I want it over with.."

Tabi just looked at Parker, he could be mad all he wants at her she didn't care. She had come to him and he had an attitude first and she just gave it right back.

Tabi stood up and drew her wand did the movement and said "Ventus" and wind blew Parkers hair.

"There you go, now blow me away and we will done." Tabi just plainly stated.

"And just so you know it ain't my fault Pxyis is mad at you. I give what I recieve."

Parker closed his eyes and leaned his head down slightly as the wind blew over his hair and face.
He then opened his eyes then went to draw his wand, sighing. "I'm sorry, Tabi. I know. I don't know why I'm taking it out on you...you've not done anything."

He slowly raised his wand to her, then did the motion and said "Ventus" blowing wind over her just as she did to him. After, he just lowered his wand and sat back down in his seat.

After taking a look at the spell in the book, Victoria was excited to try it. She was actually more excited to feel it that perform it. At least at first.

It was a given that her and Tess would be pared together. She really liked having a consistent partner in classes. That way they could have study sessions on things afterwards together and get it all done at once.

"You went first in CoMC. How 'bout I get the first go at being jinxed. I know it's dumb, but it sounds really fun!"

Victoria felt her inner lion roaring and she grinned, moving over to an empty area to get into position for the spell.

She smiled seeing that Victoria was excited about it. Tess herself was impressed by how Victoria wanted to take charge. Nodding happily, she walked over and stood her ground.

"Bring it then" she said smiling.

She closed her eyes and waited.

Lucia looked around noticing that Ms. Wilson did not have a partner. She walked over to her.

"Do the spell on me once," Lucia said with a smile.

When Ms. Wilson had performed the spell, Lucia looked up and over the class, noticing wind from every direction. But they weren't particularly strong. Lucia sighed.

"Class!" she yelled, getting everyone's attention.

She walked back up to the desk. Here she turned to look at them all.

"I want you all to practice this spell for next class. The spell isn't going to be a soft wind, it should push people off their feet. Just practice until you manage to push the person a bit backwards, all right? Also, I would like you to write 30 words for next class about the spell itself. This shall be on my desk by next class. Class dismissed," Lucia then said.

She packed up her things and waited until all the students had left so she could be available to them if there were any questions.

Parker made a note of the assignment and then proceeded to pack up his things. If he weren't so distracted he could probably do it better, so he would set to practice. He lingered around a bit until some of the others left and walked over to the professor's desk.

"Erm, Healer, er Professor- Uhm, I had a question..."

Tabi was glad the class was over, she couldn't believe she got stuck with the muggleborn as a partner, and he was even rude to her. Tabi was usually the one that was rude.

She packed her things up and ran out of the class as fast as she could.

Lucia smiled to Mr. Emery as he walked up to her. He seemed pretty anxious or upset about something.

"Yes, what is it Mr. Emery," she asked softly, curious to what it was.

He was never really one to just go out and talk to his teachers, it made him nervous, but he had to over come it if ever wanted to learn as much as he wanted to. "I was wondering...what-what does it take to be a healer, exactly? I imagine it's a lot of work, but I find it really interesting." Parker looked down. "I mean, at least what I've looked up about it and St. Mungo's...I was just curious..."

Adjusting his bag on his shoulder, he looked back up.

Post by Lucia Henley Wed Feb 22, 2012 11:18 pm

Lucia beamed at Mr. Emery. So a student who was interested in more than just spells?

"It is indeed a lot of hard work, but when I think back on it, I don't think I've ever done anything worth more than those years of hard work," Lucia said honestly, looking at the boy.

"It takes a lot of studying to become a healer. You study extremely many spells, and the art of healing is much more than just jinxes, curses, hexes, charms or anything of the like. You have to put your very soul into it. It can't be done unless you focus all your energy on it. And you have to find a way to control every ounce of your energy. It takes a lot of control.

"In most spells, rage and love and all sorts of emotions can be used in advantage. In healing, you have to lock every emotion away, and bring only out your rationalized side. In other words, it is very precise magic and in hard situations like wars, or the battle at the end of last term, you have to focus even more and lose contact with the pain and suffering in the situation, since you can't use your feelings," Lucia said calmly, hoping Mr. Emery would understand.

Post by Parker Emery Fri Feb 24, 2012 3:03 pm

Seeing her smile, Parker let out a small sigh of relief and gave a smile back. He nodded at her affirming what he assumed about hardwork, thinking it would be worth it to be able to help people and solve their problems and how rewarding it must be.

He listened carefully when she explained it more. He never thought about it like that, granted he hardly knew anything about it. But the concept of how much self control one must have, he thought to be very interesting.

Her describing it as a precise magic reminded him of Potions, and how precise one had to be with every little ingredient or else one would mess everything up. He still had a long way to go with that, and thought he would have a hard time to focus and stay calm as he often had a tendency to panic, over-react when startled even.

Parker thought for a moment and decided he would be a bit daring, asking, "Do...do you think maybe next year I could, I dunno, help you in the hospital wing in my free time? Like...an assistant?" He figured that just by being in the environment, even if doing paperwork could help him. Not just in what he wanted to pursue, but maybe round him out as a person. Maybe help him decide if that's really what he wanted to do.

Lucia felt her smile widening. Some help wouldn't be bad to her. After all, she did hold four jobs.

"I would love that, Mr. Emery. It would help me a lot. Of course, there would be some stumbling at first, but once you get around to understanding everything, I'm sure you'd be great help," Lucia said honestly.

"I'll definitely take you up on that offer, and I'm very glad to see that there is a student here with interest in healing," she added, placing her hand on his shoulder.

She looked into his eyes and knew he was very serious about it. Then she let her hand drop.

"I look forward to it, Mr. Emery," she said, "Now go do your homework," she added with a wink.

With her smile and agreeing it would be a great help, Parker smiled more as well, feeling his spirits lift. "I may not be ready to this year- I'm still trying to stay caught up with all my work, but could I next year?" As a third year, he felt he'd be more mature and able to handle the possibility of added stress. Though he wouldn't directly be helping others, he'd be helping Prof. Henley to do her job, and get a feel for it himself.

He smiled and set off when she said for him to go off and do his work. He felt more motivated then ever to do well and stay on top of everything.

She looked after him when he left, feeling lighter than usual. She was starting to see a bright future for that kid.
