Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley walked into the owlery with a piece of parchment and a quill and ink. She looked around and saw a lot of owls around her. Her eyes then fell on her very own black owl. Zar.
"Hey," she mused and walked over to him.
He flew down and landed on her arm and crooned at her. She smiled softly to him. Then she walked over to a spot she could use to write on. She had initially planned to write the letter in the common room, but she had just had an impulse to get out of the common room and somewhere else, more quiet. Everything seemed to be swarming around her.
She sat down on a stub and started writing on her parchment.
Dear Mrs. McClusky
I have had my first lesson at Hogwarts now. It all seems to be going all right. I feel better with all my friends around me, but at the same time I feel so alone. I miss you. But it's all right. It feels good to be back at Hogwarts. I've really missed this place. I don't think I've ever been so attached to a place before. I love Caerphilly, but that castle just isn't mine. I think it has something to do with the massive amount of tourists that wants to see it all the time. Hogwarts is secluded. It's only admitting students. There are no tourists. Imagine if there were, though. That would be interesting.
The other day I went visiting my parents' grave. I had to see them. And a woman was there. A woman with a crazy face. Sally Swandeth. Please, Mrs. McClusky, did you know that she was the one that killed them? Don't lie to me. I need to trust you. And I have a feeling that the woman didn't try her best to conceal what she had done. She seemed like the type that would kill anyone and walk away happy. But she hated them. She hated my parents. I don't get why. Do you think it's because they were wealthy? Or was it because Swandeth hated them since they were from Britain? Was it really so simple for her to kill them just because of that? But she wouldn't hate them so tenderly if that was the only thing. I bet she killed loads of people from Britain, but I don't think she'd visit their grave and kick it because of it. Please, tell me the truth, Mrs. McClusky.
I don't feel better. I suppose I never will. But I'm handling it. It's going smoother. But it's not all right. I miss you. I really do. I hope everything is as it's supposed to be in Caerphilly. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Love,
Haley
Haley read through the letter several times. When she was pleased with it, she rolled it and tied it up. She walked over to Zar again and tied the letter to his outstretched leg. She then let her hand drift over his feathers.
"Go along, then," she said with a smile.
Zar spread his black wings and flew out of the window. Haley watched him drift away. She noticed how she wasn't jealous of how he could fly anymore. Afterall, she could fly just as high as him now. She was about to turn when she heard something. She looked around, and realized someone must be walking up the stairs to the owlery themselves.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
His bag slung over his shoulder, full of parchment, ink and quills, Parker had recently come from a trip from library and couldn't be bothered to go back to the dungeons to drop his bag off. He wandered around the castle and found himself going to where he knew the Owlery to be. He never wrote a letter to someone, and as he thought he may write one to his parents once he got up there. They probably wouldn't like it, as they didn't understand why wizards used owls to send letters and they thought they were dirty animals. Parker didn't get the owl letter system either, but he accepted it, and liked it. Owls were fascinating birds.
On more recent walks around the grounds, he'd seen several of them hunting and they really were fantastically majestic. They way they flew, swooped down silently, and snatched their pray was just so fascinating to him. He smiled at the idea of being able to sit among them as he wrote, though he figured it might be pretty dirty. He scrunched his nose at the thought that it probably wasn't frequented for cleaning, but tried to shake it off. As he walked round the steps nearing the top, a gust of wind blew his hair around his head.
He thought of what he would write to his parents. He'd not gotten to talk to them all that much over the summer as they were almost always away on business, so he may want to write them about his classes or his class mates and friends. There wasn't much he thought they'd be comfortable with knowing, but he wanted to share, even if he had a feeling they wouldn't read it. He missed them he realized, and felt bad that the last he saw them they were upset with him. His school and books were expensive and his father constantly complained about that. Not to mention the surprise visit from Pxyis. His parents were not the least bit happy with him for that.
He walked up the last steps, walking onto the landing, looking around. He noticed the great amount of owls at first, his face lightening up at the sight. He then saw Haley among them and froze. He hoped he wasn't interrupting anything. "Oh..."

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley smiled when she saw that it was Parker. She felt slightly guilty whenever she saw him these days. She hadn't really talked much to him. Not anyone else either really.
"Hey," she said lowly, her voice automatically hushed due to the owls for some weird reason.
She knew Parker was probably going to send a letter or something, and she really didn't want to disturb him, but she just didn't feel like leaving. She didn't want to be alone. She was sick of being alone. She had to talk to someone. She needed to. And Parker was there. Poor guy.
"I'm sorry, Parker, for not having gotten around to speak with you lately," Haley said with her head bowed.
Then she looked up at him and gave him a small smile. "How have you been?" she asked him.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Seeing her smile, he gave a small smile back and took a few steps in, looking around at all the owls. "Hi..."
The last time they had talked was in class, when she asked if he was alright. Not being in the best mood, he'd just brushed her off and he felt bad for that. She was nice and he'd really liked talking to her last year. He thought he'd be less drawn-in then last year, but this first class period it had seemed he'd just gotten worse. He'd not really talked to the people he did last year and he felt bad, though the weekend was a bit better then his week.
He smiled a bit as she apologized and bowed her head, then he shrugged. "Don't worry about it. I've not been too social myself." It was nearly not at all, until he'd tried to talk to Pxyis again.
He took his gaze from the owls around them and looked at her, adjusting the bag on his shoulder, then looking down with a small shrug. "Erm- I've been better." He didn't really like to talk about himself and when he did it just felt weird, especially if he wasn't all that good. He didn't want to sound like he was whining to get attention.
"What about you? How've you been?"

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley smiled to Parker, happy that he didn't seem angry with her. He actually seemed to be in the same boat as her. She sighed. It hadn't been easy everything, but it was going to get better, Haley thought firmly. It had to.
"Erm- I've been better."
Haley frowned when he said that and then quickly moved on to asking how she was doing.
"I'm not good. But why are you down?" she asked him, studying him.
She didn't want him to think that she didn't care. She wanted her friends to trust her with what was going on in their lives, whether it was good or bad.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
He frowned at how quickly she had shifted the topic away from herself, though he realized he'd done just the same. He thought maybe she was they same way about things as he was just as he was thinking and finding out just how similar people were, no matter house or age.
He sighed and shrugged, putting his hands in his pockets. He looked over, momentarily distracted by a couple of owls landing back with letters to people. He looked back to Haley, then down. "Stupid things, arguments...and just- uhm, well, coming back here after what happened feels little...strange to me still. I don't really know how to explain it." Well, he did actually. He often felt himself bordering on paranoid and utter worry about it happening again. Although constantly reassured that the school was safe, the fact that the whole attack happened was an indicator that it wasn't. He wasn't sure if people had still been just as bothered by it. It seemed everyone had moved on from it so easily. He knew someone had to still be suffering. Single attacks like that don't just happen out of nowhere, he still had no clue why it happened either...
His brows furrowed, he let out a small sigh as he looked back up at her. "But, what's going on with you?" It seemed a lot of people had been moping recently now hat he thought about it, although his fellow Slytherins had all been because of being tied up with all sorts of personal, and what he thought, stupid drama.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley nodded in agreement to what Parker was saying. Hogwarts had changed.
"I feel frightened," she said softly, looking out of the windows.
"I'm scared and there's nothing I can do to change it," Haley said and looked over at Parker again.
She sighed. She really wished that nothing had happened last year, and the acts had that happened in her life that summer hadn't really helped the matter of the war.
"But Hogwarts is home. It's the first safe place, and if that's not safe, then we generally aren't safe. We are surrounded by the best witches and wizards in the world, it has to count for something," Haley then finished.
When Parker then asked what was going on with her, Haley sighed and fell a bit together. She wanted to tell Parker, being one of her friends, but it was so hard to word it.
"My parents were on a mission in Germany and were killed," Haley said quickly, as if to rip off the band-aid.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
He raised his eyebrows a bit when she said she was frightened. So he wasn't the only one? "But the fact that what happened last year was allowed to happen...what's to say it won't happen again? Even if it shouldn't..." he sighed. "Though I'd rather be here then home...and I live in a muggle neighborhood- I can't imagine what it's like for you."
He looked down then then to his side at some of the larger owls, as he waited the brief moment for Haley to form together her reply. When she spoke his head snapped up to her, his eyes wide, and mouth slightly open in shock. The very straightforward way she said it sent a small chill down his spine. He wanted to say something, but had a feeling she's already hear about a million 'I'm so sorries.' He looked down a bit and gingerly reached for her hand, saying quietly. "You're okay though...it'll be okay."

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
"No, it shouldn't happen. Not at all. Ever. War is so pointless. I just don't get it. I don't even know what we're fighting for," Haley said exasperatedly.
When Parker reached for her hand, Haley smiled sadly. She took it, finding some console in it. She had heard so many condolances from everyone everywhere, but no one had actually show it quite in a way Parker did. Except Keiba. She liked it better when no words were uttered, and just tokens of care was shown to her.
"Their deaths won't even be all right, and I'll never be all right when it comes to it, but it'll be better. I will get more accustomed to it. I already am. I'll be okay," Haley said, not sure if she was saying it to convince Parker or herself.
Then she sighed. "Could we talk about something else? Say, may I ask who you're writing to?" she asked, not really wanting to be too personal, but hoping to be distracted.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Parker nodded and sighed, he entirely agreed, he didn't get it at all himself. He had a feeling the adults knew, but no one told them anything. He felt that had a right to know though, having been involved, and it honestly made him a little angry.
Parker nodded, feeling a rush of empathy. He'd be no where near as put together as she was if it happened to him. And he wasn't even that close with them. The whole stress of the war...then this? How could she possibly be able to cope, it was too much for someone their age. Or anyone's age really. "It'll take time..." He knew no words would be enough, so he didn't let go of her hand.
He nodded at the change of subject, understanding that dwelling on it at the moment would serve no purpose but to just upset her further. He sighed, and adjusted his bag on his shoulder with his other hand. "I don't know...I was thinking me parents, but as I was coming up here I realized they probably wouldn't want one. So maybe I'll write one to me gran."

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley was glad he didn't let go of her hand. She was glad she had a friend in Parker, happier than she thought she would be. She smiled and then tilted her head to the side. Why wouldn't...? Oh, complicated family...
"They don't understand the concept of magic, do they?" she asked softly.
She then smiled wider. "Your gran? Is she nice? I've actually never known any of my grandparents, they died before I was born or right after," Haley said.
She wasn't so sad about this. She couldn't really miss something she had never had. But she was curious about grandparents and if they were as cool and knit-loving as everyone claimed them to be.
Then she turned serious again.
"But Parker, do you think we will fight again this year?" Haley asked lowly, squeezing his hand, not really intending to.
She was frightened, but she wanted to be ready. She wanted to fight and protect, but she needed a cause.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Parker saw her look of confusion and nodded his head at her question. "Not really, no...and I think they're a bit...bitter about it really. And they hate the owls." He looked around again, sighing as he took in the sight of all the owls over the landscape. He wished they could just see what he saw now. It was beautiful here. Not the harsh concrete slabs all over in the city, nothing like the offices they spent so much time in, so much more fantastic then their technology.
He drew his eyes down and smiled a bit. "I don't know her all that well, she doesn't speak English very well, so we don't talk much. Though she can read it well enough to understand a short letter..." He smiled a little more and looked up. "She's a bit mean, but in a funny way, I think." He wouldn't call her the traditional grandparent, she didn't seem traditional in any sense actually, at least what he understood. He didn't like the idea of her...leaving anytime soon. She wouldn't go without a fight though.
His expression had already turned a bit serious when Haley asked her question. And he sighed again, looking down at their hands when she squeezed. "I don't know...but I really hope not..."

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley nodded. "I see," she said. She wondered if they were the kinds of parents that just let their kid be alone, but she didn't want to ask.
She smiled when he told her that the grandma was a bit mean but in a nice way. "Well, at least she's trying then, right?" she asked, sighing.
Why were there so many people who had such a hard time in their homes here on Hogwarts? Sure, Haley had lost her parents, but they had given her as much love as anyone could've given her in a lifetime. She'd never forget how they continously told her they loved her, how they always snagged a hug and how extremely worried they had been when she came home from the battle at the end of the year.
"Me neither. I'm crossing my fingers that by the end of the year, the war will be over," Haley said with a smile. She really wanted it to be over. She looked over at the owls hooting to each other and so many of them flying around the tower outside. She felt a bit of a chill in the wind. Winter was coming.
"Will you be going home for Christmas this year?" Haley then casually asked him.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
He nodded, letting out a small sigh himself, "Yeah, she is. She took to the whole magic thing real well too. Me parents are trying, but they've been so preoccupied with work, we never got to talk about it much. Other then the costs..." One thing about Slytherin that irked him a bit was just how wealthy all the kids seemed to me, almost terribly wealthy it seemed. He knew it wasn't just Slytherins, but sitting around in the common room listening to rich people problems were definitively not he highlight of his nights.
"The fact that one's even started is strange. Seemed to come out of nowhere... I wish the adults here at least told us what's going on..." He looked over with her at the owls, feeling the chill start to settle.
"Most likely I will, though I wonder what it would be like spending it here. What about you?"

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley understood. At least it seemed like the parents loved him, though maybe not quite in the way he wanted them to. Haley smiled. "She seems very understanding," Haley said, thinking about the grandmother.
She the sighed. She hated being rich when others weren't. Especially when those others were her friends. Haley was extremely rich, an advantage with being a descendant from Helga Hufflepuff; you got a lot of money. Haley looked at Parker. "Does your parents have economical problems?" she asked softly, not wanting to rub it in, but wanting to show that she cared.
Haley shrugged. "I don't know. I ... well, I have a landlady," Haley said, feeling ashamed that she could have one, but at the same time, it was just something she couldn't deny, "And, well, I miss her a lot, but I think she'll want to spend her holidays with her family. I'm sure, though, that she would invite me to come should I decide to go, but I don't think I want to. It'd just be a reminder of what I no longer have."
Haley clenched her teeth and then unclenched them. "No, I think I'll be staying behind at Hogwarts," she said calmly, and when she had said it, she knew it to be true. She wouldn't be going back to Caerphilly castle before the summer.
"By the way, I've kind of - just say so if it's none of my business - but I've kind of noticed that you and Pxyis seems to be having a bit of a fight. Are you two all right?" Haley asked softly, really hoping she wasn't going overboard on the personal side.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Parker gave a small shrug, "Yeah, sort of...I mean, I suppose that's why their busy all the time, at work. They've both got more 'en one job, I know that."
Parker liked to think it wasn't that bad, but with the school costs and various other things that had come up, Parker had heard plenty of arguments between his parents about their lack of money, to know it was at least a little serious. He didn't mind though, as long as they had enough to be comfortable. He didn't want a big house, or a lot of things. From all he'd heard, it sounded lonely and that is caused more problems then it solved.
Parker sighed, walking to a spot with her to sit down. "Well, maybe you should. It could...be a reminder of what you're still lucky to have. At least you have someone, right? Or maybe go with a friend, keeping yourself occupied. A bit of distraction could do you well..." He looked out the window and scenery surrounding them. Sometimes just putting things aside worked better then outright dealing with everything so soon. He figured it took time to really process and accept, and it could not be forced.
He looked back at Haley as she spoke again. He didn't mind her questions at all. Often, he felt people were so secretive and closed off. While he often didn't like to talk about himself or what was bothering him, if someone asked, he usually felt no reason why he shouldn't answer. He never had anything to keep, and often being so open made things a lot easier.
"Oh, uhm, that...a few others mentioned that too." he sighed and shrugged. "We talked a little bit, and I thought we sorted it out. But sometimes I don't know. Sometime she'll be really mad at me for some reason and other times not. I suppose it's just how she is." He smiled feebly. "Was it really that obvious though?"

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley frowned. "That must take a bit of a toll on your family," she said slowly.
She didn't really like it. Having to work two jobs and stuff. She'd known a family once who had little money. Her own family had tried to help them, but they just wouldn't take any money. They worked so much and were barely at home with their child, so Haley had spent a lot of time with him. But it hadn't worked out well. They had been quarreling so much, according to the boy. They had worked it out though.
"Parker, if there's anything I can do ... I mean, I've got so much money and I have no idea what to use it for. If it ever becomes so critical that you just don't want to listen anymore, then just tell me, okay? I'll help you to the best of my ability, and you've got loads of friends who wants to help you. And I know it isn't as easy as saying 'yes, I want some of your money' to you, but honestly, it wouldn't bother me at all," Haley said solemnly.
She looked out and back at Parker, thinking a bit. Maybe it would be a good idea to go home. At least for just some days to see how long she would last. Then she could take the Knight Bus back or something.
"Maybe it is a good idea. It would be nice to see her again and my friends. And I'm sure they'd let me stay with them, but I don't think I'd stay over Christmas. I think I want to be alone this Christmas. Yes. I do," Haley said more to herself than Parker, not that she minding him hearing, though.
She then smiled slightly. "Yes, it was kind of obvious. It seemed like you had fixed it, but it still seems somewhat strained between you," Haley said softly, "But I know the mind of a girl, Parker, after all, I am one. And I know that Pxyis cares a bunch for you, but the quarrell might have hit her a bit hard or something, maybe she's mad at herself. It's hard for girls to get over fights, you know. We're so emotional and everything," Haley said with a smile. But she thought she might know a bit more of what Pxyis was feeling for Parker than he did himself. No way was she saying that, though. Pxyis would not think twice about snapping her neck.
"But I'm sure it'll be all right. Just you wait and see," Haley said with a beam.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Parker shrugged, he tried not to dwell on it too much, it was just how it'd been for a while and they've made it with enough so far. "It does...but I'm sure that it'll get better. Things always get better, even if it seems like forever before it does..." He had to try to be optimistic. If he didn't, then where would he be? There was nothing that could be helped, and only time could tell.
He shook his head at her offer. "Haley, no, I couldn't. Pxyis has offered the same thing. But it wouldn't be right. They wouldn't take it. They've too much pride for that. And I don't even know how we'd convert the money to muggle money anyways." He sighed. "Thank you, but I can't take the money. Not from anyone." Parker felt that if his parents ever found out they'd be embarrassed having to depend on someone, especially someone that they didn't know or even understand the lifestyle of.
"Well, whatever you chose to do, some time with them would be good." Parker looked down at the stone floor. While being alone on Christmas didn't sound ideal, he understood the fact that she'd want the alone time. While sometimes the distraction of friends was nice, time to oneself was also important.
He looked back up as Haley smiled a bit and he smiled a little back before looking back down. "Well you really should help me out and tell me what's going on in her head then, because I've absolutely no clue. I don't get why she'd even be mad at herself, I thought I was the one that screwed something up..." he sighed and looked at her, Haley beaming back at him. "I'm sure you're right. Everything always gets better."

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley smiled. "Every night has its dawn," she said, agreeing with him. Just because evrything was hell at the moment, didn't make it have to be hell in the morning.
She sighed. She knew pride was important for people, but she didn't like it. She wanted Parker to take the money, not to save the family out of a crisis and save the day or anything, but because she wanted him to be happy with his family. Sure, he was probably really happy with them, but they didn't have time for him. One would think their parents would accept money if it made their son happier.
"I see," she simply said, not wanting to upset him. She wasn't thinking it because she thought lowly of his parents, but because she didn't think either of them, including Parker, had even considered the matter completely. "Well, still. If it ever becomes too dire, you can ask me, but I won't ask you again," she said, hoping he would remember that, should it come to it.
Haley nodded slightly, before smiling again. "I would tell you all, but it really isn't my business, and I don't want to ruin anything -relax, it's nothing bad or anything- but just don't pressure her. Just let her come around herself, and she should be perfectly fine. She's lucky to have a friend like you, you know," Haley said to him, her smile widening for about every word.
"So, how has class been to you these last few days? I might have... well... overheard something you said to professor Henley about healing? I didn't catch the rest, I left, I didn't mean to listen, but I just thought that maybe you wanted to become a medic yourself?" Haley asked him, smiling innocently.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Parker smiled a little, glad that she didn't seem to want to press it upon him any further. It was a kind notion, but it would feel strange to just take someone's money like that. He felt like he would owe them so much if he took it, even if they said they didn't want anything in return. He nodded a little. "Thanks, Haley." for both the thought and not pressing it on him any more.
Parker felt himself roll his eyes a little bit as Haley smiled, saying she'd not tell him anything. He smiled a little bit back. "You almost make it sound like she has some secret disease or something. 'She'll come around, she'll be fine.' But I'm glad she's my friend too."
Parker's smile widened a bit more and his cheeks got a little red, at her mentioning his conversation with Professor Henley. He nodded a few times, "Y-yeah, actually. I think I do...but I can't be sure yet. That's why next year I wanted to help her out in the hospital wing. Just paper work and stuff, but being in that sort of environment will be fun I think. Helping the person that helps people. I'm really excited-" He stopped and felt his face heat up a bit more, realizing how excitedly he was about to chatter on about it.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
"No prob," Haley said casually and swung her legs a bit with a smile on her face.
Haley then laughed. "Yes! Indeed! A disease that is impossible to rid oneself of, unless you try your hardest to block it," she said happily. Then she shook her head. "Nah, I'm just... Well, sometimes it's hard for a girl to adapt to the way boys thinks, and she might have some problems with that or something," she said, though the way Parker thought was not the problem, she knew...
Parker got really excited when he talked about helping out in the infirmary. Haley grinned along with him when he told how he wanted to help. She hadn't seen him so thrilled before. Then he blushed and Haley frowned when he stopped talking.
"Parker, I'm not gonna like you any less just because you get excited about some things... When I wake up in the morning... Actually, you don't wanna know, but I'm gonna tell you anyways. I hate waking up early, and the only thing that helps me is to completely snap and dance around getting worked up and shit. So I jump around like a maniac, always waking Agatha and the others in the dorm. It's funny. And I get happy. Don't be ashamed of having excited emotions, Parker, you have to cherish them. They are important," Haley said calmly, smiling to him.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Parker was smiling, and furred his eyebrows confused. "I think you got whatever disease she's got then, cause now you're confusing me just as much." He laughed a little, not minding his being in the dark about whatever it was they seemed to know that he didn't, although the curiosity was pressing. He shrugged. "I dunno, that seems a bit weird. I didn't think we thought all that differently."
Parker looked at Haley when she frowned. Parker just didn't think she'd be all that interested in him repeating over just how excited he was for next year being able to help Madam Henley.
He smiled at her story, laughing a bit. "I don't think I'd be too happy being woken up like that every day." Parker had always been a bit subdued in expressing himself, and although he had been coming out of his shell far more this year, being loud and excited was still almost strange for him to do. Especially since he didn't ever really have the chances to express himself back at home. He nodded at her saying it was important. "Yeah, I know. I don't think I could dance around like you in the mornings though." He smiled a bit cheekily.

Haley laughed. "We might have the same aura of non comprehension for you, but we don't have the same diagnosis," she said riddlishly.
She was so happy that Parker was her friend. He was so amazing, and though he could probably come out of the shell some more for her liking, she really found it calming to have him on her side.
"Well, whether you're an excited crazyhead like me or slightly more refined, like you, doesn't really matter. We're both awesome," she said, winking.
She was feeling much better. Something about Parker made her happy. He was special like that. She had only met one other person that made her feel safe, and she was currently lying in the infirmary. Leisha...
Her good mood vanished instantly.
"I don't know madam Henley that well, but is she as good as people say she is? I mean, will she be able to heal Leisha and Corinne back to health?" Haley asked, concern in her voice.

Parker smiled, shaking his head a bit. "Okay, I give up on this, you're just making me more confused."
Parker smiled at her confidence, something he really wished he could have, and honestly he found himself admiring her a bit for it. She seemed so very proud to be who she was and that was something he really respected.
He saw her smile vanish from her face as she seemed to be thinking. He furrowed his eyebrows a bit at her question. "Well..." he had to think a moment. He didn't know Madam Henley all that well himself. "seeing all she did to help out at the end of last year, I'm sure she's really good. But...but somethings just need time. Some things just don't have an immediate fix." as much as he wanted to assure her they were fine he couldn't. He hadn't even heard about Leshia, and he was slightly surprised. Corrine though, no one could tell with coma's, not to mention a magically induced ones. He wanted to be hopeful, but if things weren't fine, he didn't want to seem like a liar.

Re: Writing home (Parker and Haley)
Haley chuckled. "Good idea," she said smirkingly.
When Parker then said that he didn't know, Haley sighed. She was pretty sure that Leisha would be up and about in not too long, but she hated the thought of the girl lying in bed in the infirmary. She then sighed.
"Well, I just hope everything will be all right. I guess it's impossible to say with certainity," she said calmly.
Then she shuddered. A chill ran down her spine. Winter was really coming. She looked out of one of the small cubicles.
"I look forward to the snow," she said softly.
She loved the snow. It was so beautiful. And she hoped the lake would freeze so she could ice-skate. If not, she'd have to learn a freezing charm.
