Swordmage Lesson 3: Basic spells (Invite Only)
Airen walked into the Room of Requirement. He thought that his students had had enough time with the preparations. Now was time to show them the more tangible things. He looked around and was pleased to see the same basic setup as before. The only difference was a sparring ring in the middle of the room. He walked to the middle of it.
Airen sat down in the middle of the ring, indian style. He lit some incense he got from the Mediterranean. He breathed deeply and waited for his pupils to arrive.

Pxyis practically skipped to the RoR, excitement filling her. She had improved her wand to the best of her abilities as Airen had requested, and now it had its own case and was slung over her back. The doors to the Room of Requirement swung open to admit her, and she entered with a wide smile on her face. She looked around and saw that no one else other than Airen was there.
Pxyis tilted her head as she looked at Airen in the middle of a ring. Hesitantly, she made her way towards him but stopped a couple of metre's away, not sure what to do. She cleared her throat loudly, which was followed shortly with a 'Hello, Airen.'

Charlotte had in her spare time reforged her sword to make it better like Airen had asked her to and she wondered whether the lesson was going to be doing any spells with her sword this time, after all, she didn't know what else they would need to do.
Wondering if she had changed, or was in the process of changing, Charlotte felt a little sad and thought about how most of her old friends hadn't spoken to her in a long time, and she had been wanting to speak with Airen and that hadn't happened either...
So she had thought of a plan, she was going to see Viktor, and see if he would talk to her, after all they were friends.
Feeling awkward as she walked in, Charlotte smiled lightly and sat down on a nearby chair without a word, working on getting rid of all these emotions so that she could perform spells effectively.

Airen heard both of the girls enter the room. Smiling, he got up and made his way over to the Charlotte and Pxyis. Airen smiled warmly at Charlotte. He hadn't spoken to her in awhile, and he hoped that he hadn't hurt her feelings.
"Hello, Pxyis, Charlotte. Today, we're going to be learning the basics of casting spells from a sword," he said kindly. "Swordmage spells draw energy from the elements fire, water, wind, earth, light, shadow, and animals, so you don't have to worry about draining your magical core. However, your mind must not be clouded with strong negative emotions. If your angry, and that anger is so strong that it affects your judgement, you won't be able to cast a spell," he finished.
"Now, let us start with something calm. Think of water. Simply say 'water', and point your blade to these three cups," he said, pulling out three plastic cups and setting them onto the floor.

Charlotte nodded in greeting and listened to Airen quietly, she felt the need to keep quiet in order to keep herself from feeling all these emotions that previously she hadn't had any need to feel, she wasn't annoyed often after all.
Looking at the cups, Charlotte stood up, took a deep breath and cleared her mind even more, making sure that she focused in on the water, thinking of that in her mind clearly, and while visualising the element that she was trying to make appear, she pointed her sword in the direction of the cups.
"Water." she said quietly.
Unexpectedly the cups began to fill up with water but then stopped about halfway through one cup, sighing softly, Charlotte thought she might need to be more forceful and said louder:
"Water."
And the cup began to fill again.
