Lesson Two - Second Years
Richard yawned a little bit as he sat behind his desk, happy to be teaching his class but at the same time wishing that he was doing something more exciting. After all, he was a strong wizard with knowledge of the Germany war machine. Why wasn't he at least advising on the war? He rubbed at his eyes and merely waited for his class to arrive.

Haley walked into the Charms classroom and sat down with a smile to the professor. Then she leaned back and waited for class to start.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Victoria walked into the quiet classroom. She had thought about striking up a conversation with Haley, since she was in all her classes and didn't really know her, but didn't think the professor would welcome it.
To be honest, he intimidated her. She never saw him smile, except when he was with the Headmistress at the ball last year. It made Victoria wonder why he was teaching at Hogwarts if he didn't like it.
She shook her head and told herself to mind her own business. Pulling out her class book she waited for the other students to arrive.

Airen walked into the classroom. He noticed that the professor seemed to be a bit out of it at the moment. Airen assumed it had to with the war.
He sat down quietly, and waited for the class to begin.

Well isn't this exciting Tess thought sarcastically as she entered.
Walking in, she noticed that it was dead silent, and that was usual she supposed. She knew that while Professor Romain was very grumpy most of the time, if people came towards him he wasn't so...overwhelming. She had a note for the Professor but she held in in her pocket, waiting for the class to probably end so she'd be able to give it to him.
She merely said "Good Morning Professor" and sat down beside Victoria. She flashed a small smile and opened her textbook and notebook .

Parker sighed as he entered, taking in the tense atmosphere of the room. He looked around and made his way to the front of the room. On his way however, he stepped on his shoelace and tripped, but caught himself from falling flat on his face and dropping his books. He stumbled a few steps and slid into the nearest seat, his fact bright red. He set his books on the table, resting his face in his hands.
He was so glad not everyone was in class yet and seen that... He stayed like that and waited for class to begin.

Charlotte walked into the classroom and expected it to be rather happy in it's atmosphere but it wasn't today, it was quiet and a little bit tense, so she had to work hard not to get so nervous that her cat ears popped out. Hurrying to her seat next to Airen, she looked at Uncle Richie with a gaze that read:
'What's the matter are you okay?'
Before taking out her quills and parchment ready for today's lesson, whatever subject it might be on.

Keiba stepped into class, bag slung casually over one shoulder. She wasn't late, nor was she early, but she was excited because she really enjoyed transfiguration. She noticed she was the only Ravenclaw in the room. I wonder if Mace signed up for this class...
"Hey," she breathed as she slid into the seat next to Haley. Her things were out on her desk, in just the right places before Haley could reply.

"Hey," Haley said to Keiba with a smile, but so lowly that only Keiba could hear it; she didn't want to disturb.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Noticing some of the looks he was attracting, Richard decided that it was probably for the best if he didn't lament in class. Or lament at all to be honest. Rolling his shoulders, Richard moved to the front of the class,
"I'm sure you all remember the 'corpus' spell from the second lesson of your first year." he flicked his wand down and wood sprang up in the air along the path of his wand, "Relatively simple conjuration. But wood is kind of weak."
He moved to the board and wrote on it 'Vorpus'. Richard underlined the word twice,
"This spell is another simple conjuration spell but instead of conjuring wood it conjures tin. Vorpus." he flicked his wand and a thin layer of tin appeared instead of wood, "Now if you over-power this spell... Vorpus."
This time he put more magic than the spell required and a silver metal appeared, three inches thick,
"First though I want you to succeed in the first level of the spell before we continue."

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Haley nodded at what professor Romain was saying and then took forth her wand.
"Vorpus," she said. Nothing happened. She frowned. She then focused some more. "Vorpus," she said more firmly and a very thin layer of tin appeared. It was so thin, though, that she could see her finger behind it.
Haley narrowed her eyes. A challenge. Done. "Vorpus," she said much firmer and much more determined. Now a tin layer appeared and though it was still thin, it was much better than the first. She was rather contented, and wondered if she should move on to the next stage. She figured she might just do that.
"Vorpus," she said, focusing more and pointing firmer with her wand into thin air. A layer was spreading, once again a bit thicker. About an inch and a half. She smiled victoriously and kept going until she managed to make a three inch layer of tin.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Seeing Professor Romain being more lively than usual, she smiled seeing that they were really going to learn something interesting And while the Transfiguration seemed boring, she knew it was harder than it looked.
Looking at the spell, she sounded it out first, trying not to make sure she got it right not like last time. She looked at the table determined and she took out her wand.
"Vorpus" she said clearly.
She pointed her hand clearly towards the wood and soon a tiny thin metal appeared It was thinner than a finger nail, very fine and seemed almost bendable, thin like silk.
"Vorpus" she whispered and it got a little thicker.
Looking at Professor Romain, she wondered what else he wanted from them.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Airen listened to the professor's instructions. He hadn't been able to attend the lesson last year because he was sick. Thankfully, he got what he missed from a friend.
He noticed that people were trying to be the best right away. He didn't know whether he should or not. Deciding to only do the first level of the spell, he took out his wand.
"Vorpus," he said. A thin sheet of metal appeared. It seemed to be about an eighth of an inch thick. He was satisfied with it and decided to wait until the professor said it was alright to make it thicker.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Victoria saw some of the others going farther than the first level. Personally, she liked the look of the thin layer of tin. It looked natural.
She focused and pictured microscopic pieces of metal lacing together. That's how it made sense to her. She knew that magic was more than that. But the idea of conjuring something out of nothing was hard for her. So she visualized.
With a steady hand on her wand she said "Vorpus". At first she didn't see anything, then she thought she caught a glimpse of something. Moving her head, she could barely make out a hint of a very thin layer of the metal. She repeated it just once, making it more tangible. Although it was still very thin and pliable, she liked it.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Watching his class work through the spell as requested, Richard couldn't help but nod and smile a little bit at their work. They were doing well enough that he thought they'd be ready for the next part of the lesson,
"Alright!" he called out to get their attention, "Now I want you to get yourselves into pairs and I'll instruct you more once you're in those pairs. We're going to play a little game."

Haley gave a small smile to Keiba, excusing herself, and then walked back to Parker. "Wanna pair up?" she asked him kindly, sitting down beside him before he could reply.
"I knew you would," Haley said, winking at him, and then going serious again.
(OOC: Nothing personal Keiba, I knew you will be gone for the weekend, so I figured it'd be easier for you if I joined Parker)

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Hearing the Professor, she was glad to see that no one was really messing up and his mood seemed to brighten, at least in her perspective. Hearing that the needed partners, she turned to look at Victoria and raised her eye brows to silently ask if she wanted to be partners.
She knew that they were usually partners, but she still wanted to be polite. Not to mention who knows what they had to do to their partners.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Parker looked up as Haley came over and nodded when she asked to join him, sitting down. He smiled a bit at her then frowned, his wand still pointed. "I'm having a bit of trouble..." He just had a hard time imagining and just letting the tin come out. He figured that Transfiguration was probably his worst subject. He needed to try harder or else he'd get too far behind.
He glanced at Haley, hoping she should offer him some help before they moved on. "You think you can help me? I'm saying the incantation and trying to think of it happening, but it just won't."

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
She smiled at Tess's questioning look. "Well, duh. Hope we're not turning each other to tin though."
She winked, showing she was up for a challenge. She figured if she was going to get turned into anything, Tess was the best for the job.

Tabi was not in the mood for class and she didn't have a partner so she just thought about the spell she was suppose to be practicing. "Vorpus"
Tabi just practiced the moments and the spell but didn't said it out loud with her wand. She didn't want to turn anyone into tin.

Haley smiled to Parker. "I'll try my best, but I'm terrible at explaining. But what worked for me was to clear my head like when we meditate in Divination, and then, in the darkness that kind of blocks my sight from my thoughts, I let tin shine in it. Then I say the spell," she said.
She hoped it would help. She really didn't like not being able to help those who needed it, if it was something little or something big didn't matter.

Re: Lesson Two - Second Years
Parker nodded as Haley explained her methods. It visibly clicked in his head. "Ooh, I see. I never though of trying that before.."
He smiled a bit before closing his eyes, taking a few breaths with his wand still held tightly in his hand. In his focus he imagined the tin forming. He murmured, "Vorpus" and opened his eyes, seeing the thin sheet of tin form right before him. He smiled brightly at Haley, "I did it!"
He looked up at the Professor, waiting for what the game would be.

Airen nodded at the professor's intstructions. He got up and walked over to Charlotte. He smiled shyly.
"Hey, Charlotte, do you want to be partners? Or would you like to go with one of your friends?" he asked, making sure that she knew he was okay with her wanting to spend time with her other friends.
