Second Lesson- First Years Empty Second Lesson- First Years

Post by Guest Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:39 am

Jonathan new they did not get a lot accomplished last class he knew that many of the students that were in the last class were moved up to second years so this class will practically be a start over if any new first years show up

Jonathan sat back in his desk and started writing down notes and wait to see if he had any new first years.

Second Lesson- First Years Empty Re: Second Lesson- First Years

Post by Annika Bauermeister Tue Feb 28, 2012 5:46 pm

This morning as I dressed in my new uniform, robe and tried to fit my books into the carrying strap, I suddenly thought of how much I had heard about this class. Most was positive, but a few kids said it was really hard cuz the weather sometimes made it hard to do charting and stuff. So as excited as I was to FINALLY be at my beloved Durmstrang, my hands shook to an unreasonable point. I had to run down the hall to keep from backing out and feigning illness so I wouldn't have to worry about making a mistake in front of the teacher.
As I turned into the doorway my eyes on the floor, I ran smack into a tall 4th year student. Raising my eyes to him I saw an impish grin one the most handsome face I had ever seen. 'Hey little one, keep your eyes up and watch it around here. Things can pop up at the most unusual places. By the way, welcome to the 'strang." With that he turned and sauntered down the hall towards the door and the sunshine outside.
'Idiot I thought, he was a laughing at you just like the boys back home. He's just a stupid jerk." I went back to trying to figure out how to avoid the boy I ran into for the rest of the year.

Second Lesson- First Years Empty Re: Second Lesson- First Years

Jonathan noticed that once again there was only one student in the class so he thought he would just offer for them to go to the other class.

"Seeing is you are the only one in the class, would you like to go join the second year class?"

Mishka walked into the classroom, she had accidently missed the first lesson. Because she was trying to catch up on her sleep. She had hoped that the professor wouldn't give her dentention.

Second Lesson- First Years Empty Re: Second Lesson- First Years

Looking up at the professor, Annika was shocked at the question. Sure she would love to try, but was she ready. Besides a new girl had just walked in. Maybe the offer was just to make things easier on the prof, but boy would that be an interesting challenge. As she turned to look at the girl, her heart sank. She was really lovely, and looked like she had lived a very different life than Annika. But then, as papa always said, "Bebe, don't judge the tree by the amount of fruit, you have to taste it to find out the worth. In other words looks don't always match what's inside. " So she decided to do that. Smiling she whispered a hello and hoped that wouldn't offend her.

Mishka blinked when she heard someone was talking to her. She always thought of herself as a loner, but saying hello wouldn't hurt her. She then leaned over. " Hello."

Alice was late for another class and once again, it had been because of her dancing. "Sorry I'm late," Alice says, running in the door. Looking up, she saw that there were only three people there, and one of them had to be the teacher. "Wow, small class much."

Second Lesson- First Years Empty Re: Second Lesson- First Years

Annika started to smile back when another girl came running in late. She too was in Annika's opinion a beautiful person but seemed a bit distracted. "I wonder if this is all that's all in this class It would be great because then we could really get the help we needed if we asked. Not enough students to distract the professor when we asked questions." She tried to smile and say a quiet hello, but couldn't get the words out. She was afraid to say anything because class had already started.

Jonathan was glad to see that the class had just grown by two more students. With that in mind he didn't have to combined the two classes.

Looking around at the students he thought he would make this a quick lesson seeing is it was getting started late.

"So what can everyone tell me what they think about when they think about Astronomy."

Mishkia then raised her hand. " I think of Constellations and Stars."

Alice didn't even bother to raise her hand, "I think of a bunch of preaty lights in the sky. I took this class so I could get beyond that."

Annika closed her eyes and quietly said, "I think of laying in the grass and picking out the planets, and how they got their names. I wish I could travel to them and know more of what they are like.
I;ve always loved to watch as they move across the sky.

Jonathan listened to each of them talk about their ideas so he decided that would be the best thing for the assignment.

"For this weeks homework assignment I would like a 100 word summary on what you are interested in astronomy. This way we will have idea on what you want to learn."

Jonathan looked around the room.

"10 points for everyone, class dismissed"

Second Lesson- First Years Empty Re: Second Lesson- First Years

Post by Agne Bartkus Sun Mar 04, 2012 9:45 pm

Agne's heart was racing as she ran down the hall, her first day, well night, and she was late. She'd been too excited to sleep, even if it was only for four hours before her first class, who knew magic was real? She certainly hadn't, and now here she was in a mid-evil castle to learn how to use it! By the time she did finally fall asleep she was unable to wake immediately when she had needed to. She'd dressed quickly, ran a brush through her tangled mess of hair and rushed away, only to get lost. She tripped over the hem of her skirt, her books and papers scattering before her. An exasperated sigh escaped her as tears welled in her eyes. Taking up her books she walked on. At last she found the room and opened the door slowly.

The class was being dismissed, how could she have been so stupid? Without closing the door she turned and ran, tears streaming down her cheeks in the form of two mighty rivers. At length she lost herself again in the twists and turns of the halls and corridors. Exhausted, distraught, and angry with herself she crouched on the floor, her back against the wall and cried.
