Never Forget (Tessa, Agatha, Salina, Anne, and Lotus)

Lotus sat at one of the tables clutching her napkin in her lap; the surrounding area was filled with giggles and smiles and happiness and all Lotus felt was loneliness. She remembered coming here on a date with Richard...

And her heart took another shock of cold loneliness.

"One day, we'll come here with our beautiful kids." He stated smiling and grabbing her hand tightly looking into her eyes with a gaze full of adoration and truly love.

"Of course. As many as we can." She replied clutching his just as tight and looking back into his eyes.

She took a deep calming breath and looked away awaiting her daughters to tell them what happened.

Anne walked into the three broomsticks. Wondering why mother had called her here. She was new to the family, and only met two of her sisters, only being in a proper state with one. She knew it was bad. When she walked in she hid her face not wanting people to see all the bruses. She found her mother and walked toward her. she looked for her father but didn't see him.

"Hi mom." she said smiling sitting down next to her. She took in her dark expresstion and aura then hugged her knowing she needed it.

Tessa walked in with Yas. She really wasn't' sure why she was here. Her mother told her that she needed to meet her. Since she had no idea she was starting to get scared. And this only made Tessa start to worry. She knew that her father was called when they were down at the lake. But he said that he would be back.

She then blinked as she heard her mother. " What wrong?'

Agatha had a bad feeling, she had woken up feeling that something bad was happening but the feeling only increased when she received the owl. She had started at the bird for a few minutes before finally taking the letter. It was from her Mother.

She opened and read it a couple times as if the reason for the meeting would suddenly show if she stared long enough. It hadn't and now she was at the Three Broomsticks heading towards her adoptive family. "Hi" She didn't bother to smile, what was the point in acting as if everything was ok when she knew it wasn't.

"What's wrong?" Agatha was never one to beat around the bushes. She believed that if you had something to say you say it quick and and just as it is. She took a seat across from Lotus. She liked her new mother, it was like they had this understanding of sorts that they would accept each other no matter what, at least that was the feeling Agatha had towards Lotus.

Salina was surprised when she received an owl from her maman. There was a note of urgency within it, and she had instantly become worried. She'd swiftly left her room and hurried to the Three Broomsticks, her heart pounding loudly in her ears. Her stomach churned, and something wasn't right. Something bad had happened, and she desperately wanted to know what it was.

Salina entered after her sisters, and she immediately moved over to stand beside Agatha with a shy smile and wave. She hadn't spoken to Agatha much, and she made mental note to do so. She didn't want to be friends with two of her sisters and not one, it just didn't seem right to do so.

Salina moved her gaze to her mother, and she took in the dark aura around her, and the sad look within her eyes. Salina could not help but instantly switch into french as she went to ask what was wrong. It was something she often did, for speaking english was not an instant reaction within her.

"Maman? Qu'est-ce qui ne va pas, ce qui s'est passé?" She asked, and then blushed. "Sorry, I mean, what 'as 'appened, maman?"

Lotus looked up at all four of her daughters, Anne, Tessa, Salina, and Agatha. She was sure that Richard hadn't believed they'd have four daughters. She smiled weakly, trying to feel the love she always felt when she was with her daughters but this time the grip of cold depression was too strong.

"I don't know how to say this but-," she paused trying to straighten herself up and look stronger to her daughters when all she wanted to do was cry and curl up in their bed and remember when her life was happy and not tearful.

"Your father, Richard has..." She couldn't do this. Wouldn't she rested her head in her hands, her elbows on the table and looked down at the table. "P-p-passed away." she let it out. Her eyes became wet and it just all broke as she allowed her tears to flow and kept a hand over her mouth to stop the sobs from becoming unbearable. She feared how her daughters would take this and kept her head down.

Tessa was heartbroken because she was always close to her father. She knew that this was going to take time. And she knew that she would have to tell. But was this the right time, her adoptive father had just died. But her new father was ready to start a new life with her. She then started to cry, because she didn’t get to spend more time with him. And the day at the lake was the first and last time that she got to see him.

She was still crying. “ I have to go back to the orphanage. It seems that my real father was found and came looking for me.”

Anne closed her eyes. She hadn't know him to well. She knew what she had to do, she felt like an intuder. She wasn't a part of this family, no matter how much she wanted to be. Her family was dead. No one could replace her mother or her father. They had raised her to be loyal and kind. They had helped her when she didn't have friends. They had made her see reason. These people were not her family no matter how much she lover them.

She stood up and quickly left. She went to the hogs head and flooed home. She couldn't stay with the Devantes.

Salina's entire body froze up. Not her papa, not this. It was all too much, Corinne didn't know who she was, and now her papa was dead. And then, her sisters left her. Anne and Tessa, they had abandoned her family forever. Her heart broke within her, and tears poured down her cheeks before she could stop them. Her chest ached, she couldn't breathe. She wheezed as her legs crumpled beneath her and her hand reached towards where her younger sisters had been.

Her maman looked so lost, and they had yet to see Agatha's response. Salina wrapped her arms around herself and sobbed hysterically, rocking back and forth as she hissed, sobbed, choked and spluttered. "No, no no no no no." She wailed, burying her head in her hands. Her sisters, her papa. She felt so alone.

Agatha sat there not moving, she was in shock. Deep down she knew what Lotus was going to say but she had hold onto the hope that she was wrong. Who was she kidding she was never wrong when it came to that kind of thing. "Sorry" She whispered. She was sorry that she couldn't prevent what happened, that someone so nice had to die, that, in a way, she had let it happen.

She hugged Salina who cried hysterically. "It's going to be alright" She whispered to her sister in what she hoped was a soothing voice. She didn't know how to deal with people, she never had a need for it at the orphanage.

Her other sisters had deserted her, some family they were. She tried not to be angry with them but couldn't help it. Wasn't it bad enough that Lotus lost her husband? Did they have to walk out on her now? It seemed so cruel. She would never do such a thing.

Salina looked up with watery eyes as Agatha wrapped her arms around her and spoke soothing words to her. She managed to cease her crying down to gentle sobs and occasional sniffles, then she felt selfish. She wrapped one arms around Agatha and stood up, pulling her sister with her. She knew that Lotus would need them right now, especially after their sisters had abandoned them.

She slipped her hand within Agatha's and stepped over to her maman's side, pulling up to chairs beside her and taking a seat in one of them. With a small smile at Agatha and a whispered 'Thanks', she took her maman's hand and rested her head on her shoulder. "J'aime tu, maman." She whispered.

Lotus snapped her head up when she realized that Anne had left. No, loneliess could hold her but she wouldn't let it break down her family. She wiped the tears from her eyes and let out a shaky sigh. Gently she held Tessa's hand and stroked it lovingly.

"You will always be apart of my heart and family. To me you were one of my first daughter's and no one can replace that." She smiled weakly. "You can always visit, Tessa. I'd like to meet your real father to meet the man that helped make such a wonderful girl." She murmured caressing the tears away from her daughter's face and handing her a napkin. Feeling Salina com over to hug her she felt more strength as she

"Je vous aimerai toujours," she whispered in French to Salina hoping her feeble attempt at French would help her. "Ne pleure pas ma fille, mère est ici." She added. For a while it'd been odd for her to take up such a language but she wanted to please her daughter. She gestured Agatha over.

"Agatha, Salina we can make it through this. We'll be alright as long as we stay together.

Salina shot a look at Tessa as her maman told the girl that she was free to visit. Salina could feel herself becoming angry, after she had taken Tessa willingly into her home, the girl had now decided to abandon her maman for some man who gave her up in the first place! She cuddled up against her maman's side once more, pleased when she spoke french to her.

She hadn't realised that her maman could speak french, but now that she knew she found it wonderful. Though Lotus' french accent could use some working on, it was still very good for an english person. She smiled up at her maman, pleased. She wiped at her tears and tried not to cry, as she was told to.

"Et moi, vous maman. Je vais essayer de ne pas pleurer, je serai fort pour vous." She whispered to her maman, reaching over to take Agatha's hand in her own. She pressed the three of them's hands together and smiled as their magic connected and formed a bond, one that was similar to family. "Ensemble, nous sommes une famille." She spoke softly.

Tessa was sniffling. This was something that she could handle. Finding out her adoptive father, who she was close to being dead. And her real father finally finding her and her real mother being dead. She knew that she had to talk to someone about this. But who? She was fighting with Damien, and there was really no one else that she could turn to. She could always tell her problems to Yas. And she knew that she would answer just like Yas did. Sometimes she would think that Yas was an angel sent to watch over her.

She knew that she would be apart of this family. Even if she had to go back to her real father. Which she was happy, cause she could finally know her past. And what happened that night, Tessa was still very young and had no memories of it. Tessa smiled a little bit. “ Of course I will always visit.” This was her first mother and didn’t' want to lose her. “ I am sure that you can meet my real father.”

Tessa could tell that Salina was mad at her. She then looked at her. " My parents didin't have much of a choice. They were capture and tortured for information." She then started to cry. " I had an older brother who was kill, my mother was killed."

Agatha nodded at Lotus words. She didn't think it was the right moment to ask such questions but she really needed to know. "Can you tell me... what happened?" She asked quietly watching as Salina brought their hands together. She didn't know what they were talking as she didn't understand a word of French but it didn't matter.

She kept staring off not really seeing anything. She heard Tessa's words as she spoke about her original family but couldn't find it in her to care. Being in shock tended to do that, she guessed as all she felt was numbness. "What makes you think they won't come back and torture him again?" She knew she shouldn't have said that. It was harsh even if ti was the truth. What made she was safe with that man? She couldn't even see, for Merlin's sake!

The memories of her dreams kept coming back, every night she had nightmares, every night she watched people die right in front of her, watched the victims beg for their lives to no use... every night she saw the killer moving closer to where she stood, frozen in fear. She thought she was getting used to the nightmares but they always left her feeling the same way she felt now, scared and helpless.

Agatha shook her head as to clear her thoughts and hopefully forget the images that plagued her and noticed she was crying. She quickly dried her tears with the sleeve of her shirt and recomposed herself. Lotus needed her to be strong, Salina needed her to strong and she was not going to let them down.

"Ensemble, nous sommes une famille," Lotus repeated to Salina and Agatha. She wrapped her arms around them and pressed a kiss to each of their foreheads. Together we are a family, she thought smiling.

"I'm so sorry Tessa." She murmured looking over at her daughter with thoughtful eyes and a worried but weak smile.

Tessa couldn't believe that Salina and Agatha would say something like that to her. She couldn't help that her real father wanted to be in her life. What they said was hurting her, and all she wanted to do was leave.

She was in tears as she stood up and walked out the door.
