The Last Day of the Year (open)

Jaycie sighed and stared into the flames of the hearth. They flickered and jumped, in a strange, un-choreographed dance, something like an improvisation. She was sitting cross-legged on the matt before it, just thinking about leaving Hogwarts for the Holidays... and then coming back as a second year. A second year! The time had just flown by too fast.

Of course, Jay was looking forward to the holidays, she'd get to see her family again! But she was certainly going to miss this big old castle, it held a lot of nooks to explore and she expected she'd barely covered half of it.

The days had started getting warmer, and she was looking forward to the summer. New days always brought new things.
