Aquila resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at Lucian, knowing it would completely ruin her awesome moment where she had bested her boyfriend. She flicked her hair over her shoulder in a vain way and almost rolled her eyes at the mental image she was just given at herself. She hated girls who did things like that.

"Aww, lovely girlfriend? What a charming boyfriend you are indeed. And indeed, it is a momentous occasion that I shall never, ever, ever forget," she grinned cheekily.

Aquila adored the ring, and was still feeling warm and fuzzy from the gesture he had made by entrusting something that meant something to him to her. It was the nicest thing anyone had ever done for her.

"Oh, i'm sorry," she said genuinely. She knew that no matter how much her mother annoyed her, she'd be distraught if she died - so when he said he'd lost all of his family, she compared that to loosing her mother as she had no other family. She grinned at him. "Hey, the lord's supposed to love and forgive all so long as they apologise, right?"

Aquila blushed lightly. "Yes, well, thank you. It's the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me..." She admitted in a quiet voice.

Lucian smirked at Aquila he knew that he liked to think of her as his girlfriend but then again he supposed that it was his posessive side speaking for him, he hid this from her because he didn't know how she was going to react...some girls would think that it was a negative thing.

"Awwwww an actual compliment, it is a monumental occasion." he teased "Only kidding, I know that we both think we're beautiful, we just dont need to say it that much."

Winking a little bit he shrugged his shoulders there was nothing that he could do about that and oddly he was not in a rush to find his mother, she was most likely a collossal b*tch who didn't want anything to do with him anyway.

"I guess so but there's always that problem of my pride to combat." he smirked a little before smoothing her hair back from her face "Well it's the least I can do and maybe I can do more for you in the future, to top this."

Aquila couldn't help but grin as she replayed the word 'girlfriend' in his voice over and over in her head. She was annoyed that she was feeling how a typical, giddy little teenage girl would feel, but she could hardly help it when she had a boyfriend. The word made a light shiver run down her spine.

She winked at him and poked her tongue out playfully. "Yup, you better hold on to that one because you won't get another one for a while..." She trailed off.

Suddenly, she reached out, grabbing the collar of his shirt and yanking his face close to hers. She grinned like the cheshire cat off that muggle movie... Alick in Wonderland? Something like that, anyways. "Handsome," she finished off her previously left hanging sentence and released him, a light blush on her cheeks at her own actions. She had no idea what possessed her to do that.

Aquila's skin felt hot where he'd touched her, and she flet yet another blush lightly on her cheeks. She smiled at him, trying to pretend it wasn't there. "You've already done enough for me by not being scared off by my sarcasm..."

Lucian saw Aquilas grin and couldn't help but smirk. It always made his chest swell with a mixture of pride and happiness when he made her feel good about herself and made her happy. He smirked and stuck his tongue out at her in response,

"Awwwwww now that's not cool!" he teased playfully, "Dangle the carrot and then move it away why don't you?"

When Aquila grabbed his collar and pulled him close to her he had to admit he was expecting her to snog his brains out! The grin was wider than he thought was possible on a girl of Aquila's size but it was maddenly enticing. Lucian's cheeks reddened slightly, the closest he would ever admit to blushing. She'd caught him completely off guard with that! He grinned when he was released and leant back.

Lucian chuckled huskily and stroked Aquila's cheek gently with just the tips of his fingers, "Your sarcasm doesn't compare to mine I'm afraid."

Aquila loved how happy she got when she was with Lucian. Happiness seemed to be a constant emotion when she was with him, though she knew that sooner or later something would happen. She raised her eyebrows at his tongue.

"I'll bite it off, remember?" She threatened jokingly, even though she'd been the one to stick her tongue out first. "Aww, poor Luci," she cooed in response to him.

Aquila's eyes flickered to his lips for a moment as her grip tightened on his collar, and for a moment there she thought her will would resolve and she'd kiss him, but she managed to stay strong despite the temptation and remain a tease, releasing him. The slight colouring of his cheeks was the closest he'd ever come to a blush, and Aquila felt a smug smile cross her features as she tried not to laugh at him.

Aquila was affected more than she'd let on by his laugh, and his fingers gently stroking across her cheek. She smiled weakly at him, heart thudding. "Probably not." She agreed, to flustered to come up with a retort.

Lucian smirked a little when they began to trade insults bakc and forth again, he wouldn't really say they were insults when he thought about it, it was more like playful banter, it was unusual to think that this thirteen year old girl could keep up with his own banter.

It would seem that he had truly met his match, in more ways than would be apparent.

"Owies, don't bite it off, after all I need it for doing tongue things like tasting and...wiggling around." he grinned, sticking his tongue out again anyway.

Unable to stop a small smile running across his features when Aquila looked so cute and flustered, Lucian knew he could never tell her that she would probably end up in a huff, but she was very cute when she blushed like that.

"Well despite my sarcasm being far superior to your own, do you want anything else? Like some water or something?" he asked, tilting his head to one side.

Their banter was entertaining to Aquila, and it was something special to her that she could share with no one else. Everyone else took everything too seriously, people needed to toughen up a little and take things as a joke when they were intended as such. Even if they weren't intended as a joke, suck it up, Aquila thought.

Aquila rolled her eyes at him. So they were back to discussing the function of the tongue, huh?

A wicked grin crossed her features, accompanied with a devilish look in her eye. "I can think of plenty of better uses for your tongue, love," she winked suggestively.

Aquila bit her lip and tried to control her raging hormones, but damnit she was a teenager and felt that she should be entitled to such emotions as being... flustered when your boyfriend flirted with you. Sort of.

Aquila frowned and touched a hand to her throat. "Nah, i'm fine. It's still a little sore, and my chest hurts but you get used to that." She shrugged dismissively. Her chest always ached, and it felt heavy a majority of the time as well. The healer's said that a lot of the cancer was focused around her chest, but it was situated in her brain. Weird.

Lucian was a firm believer in the idea that you could grow stronger from anything and that anything included a large amount of banter designed with to hurt or to amuse. Either way someone ended up getting offended at some point. One of his favourite things about Aquila was that she didn't seem to ever get offended by his banter. When she mentioned another use for his tounge he merely raised an eyebrow,

"Oh can you now?" he purred before smirking, "Bet I could name all of the ones you're thinking of right now."

He could see that she was growing steadily more flustered, meaning that she was growing steadily more interested in his flirting. Lucian smiled a little bit,

"Well at least your throat is feeling better." he replied before frowning slightly, "Is there nothing for it? To ease the chest pains?"

Aquila was often very happy to laze around and trade playful insults with Lucian. He was fun that way, always had been, and she never had to have her walls up around him - well, maybe a little but that was just natural for her - because she didn't feel like she needed to hide anything from him. How had he gained her trust, she often wondered to herself.

She grinned at him, but raised an eyebrow and gave him a challenging look. "You think so? Try me."

Aquila tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and resisted the urge to flick him for his flirting. Not because she didn't like it, but because she didn't like being flustered.

"Yes, it's feeling better than before anyways," she shrugged. She shook her head at the question. "Not that i've discovered, no. But don't worry, i'm used to it," she assured him.

Lucian chuckled a little bit and he would have told her all the things that he could use his tongue to do, but he would probably scar her just a little bit, he was an Incubus over all, so he knew a lot about how to...make people feel good with certain parts of him.

"How about I just show you?" he asked in a husky voice, before laughing gently and shaking his head "Maybe when youre a little older huh? After all it's not exactly PG-13."

With a little wink, Lucian looked around and hoped that there would be something to eat here, but it seemed that there wasn't internally he pouted a little bit and he heard a fuss outside of the corridor, it seemed someone was coming in.

"OH dear," he sighed "Appears I might be kicked out soon Aquila, if that's your Doctor coming that is." he smiled gently.

Aquila raised her eyebrows, not really wanting to hear all over the most likely perverted idea's he could come up with. She grinned at him as he suggested just showing her, and immediately she lightly shoved him away.

"Eww, Lucian," she protested, laughing with him as he continued. "Yes, I think i'm still a little too young for such things," she grinned, not caring at all where other girls would've tried to make themselves seem far more mature.

Aquila cocked an eyebrow at his wink but heard the commotion outside and looked to the doorway, a heavy sigh leaving her. She hated doctors, they were annoying as hell. Every single one would always come back and try to make her sound as if she was healthier than she was.

"Maybe you should go, the doctor's tend to get really boring when they try to explain the situation to me." She rolled her eyes.

Lucian chuckled a little and he was glad that through him staying here Aquila had been made to feel a little bit better, he dreaded to think what would have happened if he had not seen her in the battle, or if he had not come over and helped her.

"Yes, yes, I get it, besides you're not even legal yet." he chuckled "I'll be a good boy and wait."

Seeing the door open, Lucian slipped off the bed and he planted a kiss on Aquila's lips, hopefully the Doctor would manage to behave himself and not annoy her too much, after all, they had an innate talent of doing that.

"Well I'll come in and see you later on, if you want me to, I want to make sure that you're doing okay, see how long you're going to be in." he said, a little concerned.

Aquila felt as if she was incredibly lucky to have Lucian here with her, or even near her the time of that attack. She didn't like to think of what would've happened to her if she'd been left in the rubble.

She grimaced at Lucian and poked him in the chest with a playful grin. "Good boy," she reached up and patted him on the head.

Aquila smiled against Lucian's lips but didn't hold him in place, not wanting to have the doctor witness too much. She turned her head to look at said doctor and sighed as he walked in.

"Alright, just promise you'll come back." She grinned at him, and then turned her cold gaze to the doctor, raising an eyebrow impatiently.

Lucian smirked gently and saluted to Aquila as he neared the door, it was kind of strange to leave her there, he wished that he didn't have to but the look that the Doctor was giving him would have killed if loks could have.

Running his hands through his hair, he couldn't leave without a passing comment, after all she would be dissappointed without a trademark comeback of his;

"Yes miss, of course miss. Anything for you miss." he teased "You know I'll be back, hospital food? Wouldn't miss it for the world."

Then he gripped the door handle, smiled softly at Aquila and exited the room.

Aquila glared at the doctor when she noticed the look he was giving Lucian, and the doctor flicked his gaze to her. A look of defiance settled on her features as she passed on the message to him that she was going to be stubborn.

She looked back up at Lucian as he ran his hands through his hair, and she rolled her eyes at him. In-sufferable, he was. She shook her head with a grin.

"It's truly the greatest food in the world," she said sarcastically. "Run along now, dear," she made a shooing motion with her hands.

She watched as he left and then looked at the doctor. "This should be fun," she didn't make an attempt to keep her voice down as she grinned cheekily. The doctor sighed in exasperation.
