Another Option (Sofia and Sam)

Sofia was a little excited to talk to Ms. Hawthorn about her idea. Sofia wanted to open her home up to all the children that needed someone to care for them. She knew that she would have to limit the amount, but her home was huge and she had plenty of money.

She had told Ms. Hawthorn to meet her in her office at the end of the day and she was going to ask her, so now all she had to do was wait.

Sam walked toward Professor Slytherin's office Sam was a little curious about what the professor wanted to talk about Sam sighed as she got closer to the door, Sam held her breath and counted to ten 'One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten' Sam counted and before she knew it she was at the door.

Sam sighed and knocked on the door, she wondered what the professor wanted to talk about Sam sighed and waited.

Sofia heard the knock at the door and she was a little over excited to offer Sam her offer. Her family would roll over if they ever heard the Queen of Slytherin had Gryffindor princesses living in her house. Sofia just had to chuckle at the thoughts of that.

Sofia got up and went and answered the door. "Yes come on in Ms. Hawthorn we have much to discuss." Showing her where she could sit.

"I bet you are wondering why I have asked you here?" Sofia smiled

"Would you like some tea and biscuits while we chat?"

Sam smiled at the professor and walked inside Sam sat down and nodded " Yes I was wondering why You wanted to talk with me" Sam said a little nervously Sam didn't want to be rude she nodded " Just tea please" Sam mumbled while looking at the ground.

Sam sighed and looked up at the professor the office was quite pretty she smiled as she looked around she than looked back at the professor and gave her a small smile.

Sofia called for Ali to bring tea and biscuits and the poured Sam a glass of tea.

"If you really don't want it you don't have to drink it, I don't offend easy." Sofia had a feeling the girl said yes she wanted something just to be polite.

"Anyway I have a proposition for you. I have a very big house and it gets very lonely sometimes and I was wondering if you would like to move out of the orphanage and become one of my wards." Sofia smiled as she took a sip of her tea.

"Anne Jones also lives there with me." Sofia hoped maybe that would be a selling point.

Sam blinked she was a little taken aback setting the tea down she was a little shocked but she smiled she couldn't believe it someone actually wanted her she smiled.

" I-I don't know what to say" Sam said with a big smile on her face when she heard Anne that made her smile faltered a bit but Sam shook her head and nodded " Wow, Yes I'd love too" Sam said with a big smile on her face she was so happy and excited she couldn't stop smiling.

Sofia smiled when Sam said she would love to stay with her.

"Well then that is all settled, I will make the arrangements immediately." Sofia took another sip.

"I will have Ali get a room set up for you, I have plenty of them." Sofia had caught the falter when she mentioned Anne.

"I will be glad to have it set up away from Anne's room if you would like?" Sofia wondered what kind of tension there would be.

Sam smiled and shook her head " No, I can have a room next to Anne" Sam said with a smile Sam couldn't wait she smiled at The Professor and she hummed lightly.

Sam was so excited she had to keep herself from running and hugging the professor Sam smiled and took a sip of the tea she than set the cup back down on the table and she smiled at the professor.

Sofia could just see the aura surrounding Sam just light up, she was so full of excitement that she even started to hum.

"Well why don't we play a little 20 questions, you can ask me anything about me you want to know and then I can ask you."

Sofia liked to understand how people ticked by asking, she didn't like using her gift all the time, she just always knew if they were lying

"So I will let you ask the first question?" Sofia smiled and she sat back in her chair sipping her tea.

Sam smiled she loved questions and she was trying to think of a good question she hummed lightly than smiled.

" Okay, what do you like to do for fun, like clubbing and stuff" Sam asked she couldn't picture the Professor the clubbing type of person, but you never knew.

Sam was wondering what questions The Professor would ask her Sam shrugged and waited to see what The Professor said.

Sofia smiled at Sam's question, she really was not one to travel out a lot.

"Well I do go to the bar once in awhile for a couple of drinks while I am at school, but most generally while I am at home I stay there."

Sofia sighed she really had no life

"Living the life of a Seer is not as amazing as some people might think." Sofia took a sip of her tea.

"What do you like to do?"

Sam smiled she didn't do much all Sam did was reading and all that she sighed and shrugged " I really don't do much but read and write" Sam said with a small shrug she sighed and smiled.

She nodded going to a bar really wasn't all that bad she smiled and tried to think of another question.

" What's your favorite book?" Sam asked as she tried to think of something.

"I guess I love a romance novel as much as the next lady." Sofia smiled "I have lots of favorites. Dean Koontz is my favorite author of all time though."

She glanced over at Sam and it looked like she was running out of questions.

"Why don't you just think of questions you have for me and ask them anytime." Sofia stood up and walked around her desk.

"I will be sending in the paperwork right away to adopt you, if you are sure that is still what you want. Also in private and at home please feel free to call me Sofia, its easier that way. More personal."

Sam nodded and smiled at the professor " Okay, And yes I'm sure" Sam said with a nod she was sure this is what she wanted Sam had vowed she wouldn't live with muggles again.

" So, your home where is it at exactally?" Sam asked Sam has lived in London her whole life and if it was out in the country Sam would be happy.

Sam would like It being quiet and not here the cars and the trains, Sam hummed and smiled as she could picture herself leaveing that orphanage she smiled inwardly.

Sofia smiled, she loved where she lived it was the most beautiful place she had ever seen.

"Lets just put it this way, it far away from anything and everything. The house and grounds are so big the elves have to keep track of where everyone is at."

Sofia got out a piece of paper and wrote down all the information that she would need.

"All I need from you is a drop of your blood for the wards?"

Sam smiled when she said the grounds were big she smiled and she could picture it in her head, when she heard the blood she was kinda taken aback Sam nodded.

" So, er when do you need the blood?" Sam asked she had remembered that she hated blood so she hoped when they needed the blood she didn't faint, Sam smiled at the professor.

Sofia smiled at Sam, "I know how you feel, it took me a log time to get used to blood, but it is actually really easy I just needed Ali."

Ali popped in just by Sofia thinking of her, "Ali, this is Sam, she is going to be living with us for now on." Sofia smiled at Ali

"Sam, this is Ali, she is the main house elf, and she just needs your finger." Sofia smiled at Sam.

"Yes, Miss Sam, finger is all Ali needs, won't hurt none." Ali smiled, she loved the fact that there were going to be children around the house again even if they weren't babies.

Sam looked and she smiled at Ali and nodded " Okay" Sam said held her finger out and she nodded to the professor " I don't think I'll ever get used to blood" Sam laughed she used to never faint at blood until the glass cut her face.

Sam puffed her cheeks out she had her mind as soon as Ali got the drop of blood Sam was going to close her eye's if not she would turn paper than what she was.

Sofia had to smile at Sam with the look on her face it really was not going to be as bad as she thought.

Ali took her little hand and placed it on Sam's finger and then the next moment she removed her hand. "See Ali said it won't hurt none." with a smile Ali popped out

"Well I think that about covers everything, if you need anything you know where I am. My door is always open to all of my children and I never judge." Sofia smiled and walked over to the door.

Sofia leaned over and hugged Sam, "Welcome to my family Sam."

Sam looked and she smiled at Ali " That didn't hurt at all" Sam mumbled she smiled and hugged The professor back " Thank you" Sam said with a smile Sam stood up and looked at her time table she shrugged.

" And I'll come here if I need to talk to you or anything" Sam said with a nod she walked toward the door and she gave the professor, Sam true smile that she hadn't shown in years " Thank you" Sam said again with a small wave Sam walked out of the professors office and Sam, for the first time in her life skipped down the hall, smiling.
