A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Victoria took a seat on the cloak she had spread on the ground. Spring was here and it was getting warm enough not to need it. As she looked up at the moon she wondered how familiar it was going to become now.
She hoped Tess had gotten her letter, and wouldn't be too angry with her to come. She was a little nervous as well, since this would be her first time alone with a human since her change. She had only decided to meet up a few hours ago, and only because she trusted Tess's ability to protect herself.
Taking a deep breath, she hoped this would go well. The change was hard at times and she would need her best friend.

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Walking down the usual path she found herself being very curious as to why Victoria wanted to meet at night. The scenario's in her head ranged from a Phantom of the Opera-ness to frankenstein,...she shouldn't have seen muggle movies during the summer, she regretted them at this very moment.
She shook those thoughts off considering Victoria was a person she trusted and she knew Victoria trusted her back. Plus, the location was ironically the place that Tess practiced her own little secret, so she figured she'd be fine.
Seeing a figure, her pace sped up and a bright smile lit her face.
"Victoria!" she called out.

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Victoria smiled. She could smell Tess before she even heard her. It was a strange thing, to be able to smell people. She thought it may be their blood, but she was learning to pick out specific smells. Like now she thought she could pick up smells of old books and dinner from the great hall.
She groaned. Food! It was one of the bad things about her new life. Giving up all those wonderful things she loved eating.
Standing she closed the gap between her and Tess and couldn't help engulfing her in a tight hug. Everything seemed a little surreal right now, and Tess was a much needed comfort.
"So! What'd I miss around here?" She smiled without showing teeth. She was new to her fangs and didn't want to freak Tess out.

Tess was surprised at the quick movements that Victoria made she hugged her friend back immediately. Her body relaxed as she knew that her friend was fine and in front of her. She was a bit colder than usual but she didn't mind.
"I should kill you for abandoning me" she mumbled. "And you missed nothing"

"Yeah...sorry about that." Victoria tried to give Tess a guilty look, but couldn't hold it before long, breaking into a huge grin. Screw the fangs, Victoria had to get used to them eventually. Charlie said they would retract eventually, but they hadn't yet. She just hoped they would before lessons started.
She sat down on her cloak and patted an empty spot by her.
"I just went for a walk by the lake and...well, this happened." She gestured to herself. Sighing, she tried not to let it get her down. "What'd I miss in lessons?"

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Tess felt a pang as soon as she saw the fangs. Her friend, her best friend was no longer the same person, she was hoping her to be, but rather she'd returned as a whole new being. She had suspected that something had happened when she had been sent the owl, but now seeing it was a new thing, it was real.
Victoria was different, her skin was paler than it used to be, her eyes were brighter, as if she had a perfect vision, and her smile. Her smile was bittersweet; the smile was genuine, a patented Victoria smile, that she gave Tess whenever she saw a good meal, shared some exciting news, or just genuinely happy. The part that hurt was the fact that those fangs represented someone without control, without the capability of enjoying the simple things that come with being human.
But seeing her friend, yes still friend, patting a seat beside her, she walked and ignored the knot in her stomach as she sat down beside her.
"In lessons? You are asking me about lessons but you won't spill more about what happened to you. Merlin, compared to all the things you learned in Germany, we learned nothing."
She closed her eyes trying to calm down her frustration and sadness. It was as if part of her was mourning another friend.
"How can you be so calm about this? Can you even age? Are you staying like that forever?"

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Victoria was surprised at Tess's reaction to her questions. She looked out at the still water for a minute, thinking.
"To be honest, I haven't had much time to think about those kinds of things. I was just happy not to be dead."
She looked down at her hands. Free of wrinkles or other age marks. She thought about the physical aspect of this whole change for the first time.
"I guess...I'll never get old. Or older." She thanked Merlin that she'd had her growth spurt the summer before. Thankfully she wouldn't be so obviously 13 forever. "I guess I'll never..." she felt instantly numb, "have a family..."
It wasn't until she saw a drop of blood land on her hand that she realized she was crying. Embarrassed as hell she tried to wipe the red tears off her face with her sleeve. "Sorry. Didn't know that would happen. Probably look like something out of a horror flick."

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Tess immediately pulled her best friend into a hug and rubbed her back trying to comfort her. She closed her eyes tight trying to ignore her fear and instead try and make her friend see that there was light in her change.
"I'm sorry" she whispered. "I was so stupid for bringing this up. I just...Merlin I'm an idiot"
She pulled back and grabbed her hands softly.
"Nothing can make you age? Not even a ageing potion?" she murmured. "You never know you won't have a family, you can make a family out of people that love you"
She wanted to make her feel better, after all and she knew a person like Victoria deserved the norms and more.

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
"Not stupid." Victoria shook her head, trying to blink her tears away, "just smart."
She had been so busy trying to keep her life together that she hadn't thought much into the future. "I really don't know if aging potions would work. I've just been trying to get a hold of blood. It's a little more important."
She thought back on her talk with Charlie. She had mentioned getting help from the Headmistress. Victoria decided to talk to her as soon as possible.
Hearing the idea of a family of people she loved, she smiled softly. "That sounds wonderful." Looking shyly at her friend, she asked, "Want to be my first family member? A sister?" While Tess was taking most of this in stride, Victoria was still worried she would get spooked and leave her.

Re: A Night of Discovery (Victoria and Tess)
Tess smiled softly and grabbed Victoria's hand as she mentioned being sisters. She nodded before looking up at the full moon.
"We're already sisters" she said softly "Ever since we escaped the ball, we've been sisters, fighting together to overcome everything. And though I'll grow old and well...pass, I'll be there every step of the way, for your hardship is mine, and we'll...we'll be fine you'll see"
Tess wasn't always one to just open up to everyone, but with Victoria it was easy. Both leaned on one another to grow and flourish.
