First Lesson : Second Years Empty First Lesson : Second Years

Post by Angel Valentine Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:15 am

'Another year with these students' she pondered as she fixed the rooms as such.

Last year was stressful to say the least. In her first year of teaching she had to deal with gossips and note passers, something that peeved her to say the least. She dealt with nervous children, muggleborns being nervous about potions, to excelling students, to arrogant children.

She supposed that's what children were, varying. So she decided to try harder this year. She was more experienced, and she believed the children would behave better and so she unlocked the doors, hoping for reformed children this school year.

First Lesson : Second Years Empty Re: First Lesson : Second Years

Post by Guest Wed Feb 15, 2012 7:52 pm

Tabi was ready to start potions, but this year she decided that she was not going to set up front. Too many people said things behind her back so she decided she would take a desk in the back away from the door.

She wondered what they were going to learn this year. She noticed the teacher sitting up front and she just nodded to Professor Valentine and began to get her things around and set up so she was ready to start.

She made sure to save the seat next to her for Ivano, because there was no way she was going through this class without him beside her. Now all she had to do was wait for Ivano and for class to start.

First Lesson : Second Years Empty Re: First Lesson : Second Years

Post by Guest Wed Feb 15, 2012 8:10 pm

Pxyis entered the classroom with her bag slung over her shoulder and her head bowed. She saw that Tess was the only other girl in the classroom, and sent a weak smile her way before moving to a seat right up at the back corner of the classroom. She dropped her bag against one of the legs of the table and pulled out the chair. Taking her seat, she rested her arms on her table and lifted one hand to touch her messy hair.

She rested her head on her arms, her eyes falling shut sleepily. She'd been up most of the night, worries and sadness filling her thoughts with doubt. And mostly self-hatred. She was so mad at herself at the moment, that she wanted to slam her head against a wall. The dungeon wall looked rough, hard and inviting to her head, but she didn't want to look nuts.

Pxyis mentally scolded herself for wallowing in self pity, and she shook her head to clear her thoughts. Opening her book, she looked at the page, not really taking in any of the writing on the page, she was too distracted. She wanted to sit outside and feel the cool air brush against her skin, maybe even practise her magic.

Post by Keiba Namid Wed Feb 15, 2012 9:02 pm

Keiba slowly entered the classroom. She first noticed Tabi, who she still thought a nice enough girl, and Pxyis, who looked dead on her feet. Even though she was sitting down and eyeing the cold dungeon wall thoughtfully. Keiba looked around. Tabi seemed to be saving a seat for someone else, so she pulled up a chair at the table on the other side of her, smiling.

"Hey, Tabi!" She greeted. "How are you today?" Keiba started to get her things out - books, cauldron, etc - while she waited for Professor Valentine to start the lesson.

First Lesson : Second Years Empty Re: First Lesson : Second Years

Post by Guest Wed Feb 15, 2012 10:41 pm

Salina entered the dungeon with a sad look on her face once she noticed Leshia was not there. She had come to think of Leshia as her sister, her rock. It was true that the girl was the only thing keeping Salina from going completely insane without her twin by her side. It was frustrating when Salina attempted to feel Corinne's emotions, only to find nothingness. It made her feel empty inside, but these were not thoughts to dwell on for the moment.

She looked around for where to sit, and though she contemplated taking her seat beside Pxyis, she noticed the girls dead look and decided she needed some space. Seeing Tabi and Keiba, she smiled softly and walked over to the chair next to Keiba. She rested a hand un-certainly on it, her shoulders slumped slightly as she shuffled her feet. "Mind if I sit here?" She mumbled.

Why was everyone so depressed? she asked herself.

She looked around seeing that the way people were sitting there was no divide between the houses. She smiled at the thought. Perhaps Victoria got this class.

She sat in the middle and placed her satchel to the right of her. She opened up her book, took out the cauldron from under the desk and waited for the teacher to tell her what she needed to do.

Victoria was excited for potions this year. She had gotten her books at the beginning of the summer, determined to be prepared going into this year.

As she made her way down to the classroom, she wondered she would be able to stand a whole year in these dungeons. They just made her remember hiding in the Slytherin common room during the battle...she tried to shake off the feeling. Victoria was determined that she was going to have a great year.

As she entered the class she was happy to see she wasn't the first, or the last. She instantly saw Tess in the middle and grabbed the seat next to her. Modeling her, she grabbed her cauldron and her class things from her bag.

Victoria looked over to her with a smile. "Ready?"

Post by Charlotte Smith Thu Feb 16, 2012 7:37 am

Charlotte smiled and walked into the classroom, it was again her favourite lesson and she really wondered if things were going to get more interesting this year and she wondered what they were going to be brewing this term. So, moving into the room she smiled at everybody.

There seemed to be a rather depressive atmosphere, and she wondered why for a moment.

Taking a seat where she normally did Charlotte smiled again, took out her things and began to doodle absentmindedly on her paper.

Airen walked into the potions classroom. He felt happy after a break from Hogwarts. It gave them time to calm down from the end of term ball. He saw Charlotte sitting in her usual seat. He smiled at the time they spent over the summer. Taking a seat near her, Airen sent her a warm smile. He took out his own paper and ink. He was ready to start anew.

Leshia walked into potions she hope that Salina was here. She was happy to see her in CoMC earlier and she was just glad she was back.

Walking into the classroom she saw Tabi, Salina, Keiba all at a table so she walked over and sat herself down next to Tabi. She was sure that the seat was saved for Ivano but she really didn't care.

"Hey guys are you ready to start another year of potions, and at least try not to get in trouble this year."

Tabi could not believe these people they just came in and took over her table. She was looking forward to sitting alone with Ivano but this was crazy. She didn't mind Keiba, she really didn't know her but she was not spending the whole lesson with Leshia and her other twin.

"Well Keiba I was having a good day until my table was being over run with Ravenclaws, you will have to excuse me."

Tabi picked up her stuff and moved over to another table. She just glared back at her sister and her friends.

"Yes I am ready for another year of potions, without you." She stated over at her sister.

Ivano strolled into the potions classroom looking over all the students until his eyes finally landed on Tabi smiling a little he went and sat down beside her he honestly did not want to be in class but maybe spending it with Tabi would make it go by faster.

"Hello beautiful Tabi!" He whispered into her ear. Before turning his attention to the professor though he would much rather keep his attention on Tabi.

Leshia could not believe her sister was throwing such a fit.

"Did you really think I wanted to be next to you, my friends just happen to be her." She spat at Tabi as she glared and then turned back to her friends.

"Don't mind her, I think she forgot to take her meds this morning." Saying it loud enough for her to hear.

Tabi was about to jump out of her chair and slap her sister for that snide remark but then she heard the most beautiful voice in her ear turning to see the face of the voice she had just heard she smiled.

"I am so glad you are here, I was just about to get myself in detention." Tabi said as she leaned into Ivano waiting for the teacher to start the lessson.

Tess smiled brightly and removed her satchel as she saw Victoria. It was great that they were allowed to integrate this year so they could be partners. She felt that ever since Alice had swamped herself with studies Victoria had become not only her new closest friend, but probably surpassed Alice in the sense that they both got along swimmingly.

"You bet I'm ready." she said smiling.

Hearing the commotion behind her, she was surprised to see Ravenclaw fighting with Slytherin considering usually the Ravenclaws were calmer.

Oh dear, this was more dramatic than she thought. Students arguing over petty things, sister at that. Honestly couldn't there be one year that wouldn't involve petty arguments.

"Enough! I do hope you calm down, or else your houses will have to start with negative points this year"she said.

Walking towards the board, she waved her wand and her name appeared in clear cursive.

"The chitter chatter has now ended. Please look up at the board as I will start the class. Now my name is Professor Valentine and if you haven't had me before, I am your Professor for Potions and for Muggle Studies. I run a tight shift this schedule and I will not tolerate fighting."

With a flick of her wand another phrase appeared.

Swelling Solution

"The Swelling Solution, obviously, causes whatever it touches to swell up in size. Now get into pairs"

Leshia was about to say something else when the teacher interrupted and was ready to begin class.

The teacher was already tired of the fighting so Leshia knew that she better just sit and behave, but then when the teacher said they needed to get into pairs she was torn. Leshia always paired with Salina, but now Keiba was her too so she didn't know what to do.

Leshia kept looking back and forth between the two of them not sure of who to choose.

"Salina, do you ant to be partners with me again, and maybe next time I can pair with Keiba, or whatever you guys want to do?"

Post by Parker Emery Thu Feb 16, 2012 5:05 pm

Parker had just slipped into class as the Prof. was giving out instructions. Terrible being late on the first day he thought, but he'd been so distracted he hardly cared. Seeing that many of the seats were full, and noticing Pxyis in the corner he hesitated a moment to find a seat. She was upset. And wanted a chance to talk to her properly before things got worse, but he didn't want her to feel like he was ignoring her either. He groaned inwardly as he walked toward the area Pxyis sat, a few seats away to be safe.

He felt himself sigh as he set his bag down, pulling out his textbook and notebook, as well as his cauldron and other potion supplies. He wrote down in his notebook, 'Swelling Solution',trying to recall if he'd read anything about it from his book on the lonely train ride back. While not from the text book, he remembered a potion to combat swelling that he'd read from another book which he'd talked his mother into getting for him for his birthday.

He tried not to sigh a second time as he glanced up at Pxyis.

Haley, who had been sitting in the back of the classroom, hidden away, looked up when professor Valentine asked them to sit in pairs. She then rose.

"Can I join you, Keiba?" Haley asked, sending a smile in Leisha's direction.

Keiba watched as the two twins heated up against each other. She had two sisters back home, and she knew what it was like when everybody fell out. She decided not to say anything.

Salina sat next to her, but then Professor Valentine wanted them in pairs. "Can I join you, Keiba?" That was Haley.

Keiba turned around, grinned and said, "Sure thing!" gesturing to the now-empty seat beside her. She took out her notebook and scribbled down the name of the potion - "Swelling Solution" - in her messy handwriting.

"How was your summer, Haley?"

Haley smiled softly and sat down next to Keiba. Then the question of her summer arose, of course. She knew she could trust Keiba, and it wasn't even about trust to tell someone that their parents died. But It just wasn't the right place.

"It was horrible, but I'll tell you more later," she said, urgency in her tone, not wanting Keiba to press the matter, "However, I did manage to complete my transformation into an animagus," she then added.

"How about you?" she asked, and wrote the same thing Keiba did into her own notebook.

Keiba's mind went into overload when she heard Haley say her summer was horrible. She swallowed, and hearing the tone of her voice, decided not to press the matter anymore. Instead she leaned forward and gave the poor girl a comforting hug.

"I'm so sorry to hear that, Haley."

But then Haley quickly moved the topic onto something a bit more exciting. "Oh really? That's fantastic! You'll have to show me sometime. What's your animagus form?"

Keiba went through the events of her holidays in her head. "Well, it was very cold in Australia. But I took as many pictures as I could - you did get them, right? They were mostly of trees, haha. Didn't get a chance to go to the beach, but that's okay. I guess if your holiday was that bad, then mine was ten times better."

Haley smiled. "An eagle," she said calmly feeling light whenever she thought about her animagus form. She loved to fly, that much was obvious to her.

"Yes, I got the pictures, they were great! And I don't mind that it was mostly trees, I love trees! And the sheep was absolutely gorgeous!" Haley then said feeling exsited.

She was happy that Keiba seemed to have had a good holiday. "I'm glad to hear that. I bet it was loads of fun," she said, chuckling.

Haley grinned, then she frowned. "Poor sheep," she said, pouting, and then grinning again.

"Nah, I guess it's the best way if they're annoying," Haley said, winking.

Haley then raised an eyebrow. "Did something happen during your summer that wasn't all too good?" she asked calmly.
