Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Jaqui was still frowning as she made her away around the group of Winged Horses that the second years had been introduced to last year. She wasn't sure what to do about her student in the first years group, Tessa Grey. The girl was blind, and yet she took Care of Magical Creatures which was a class that was solely based on looking, examining and caring for a creature. It was not easy to care for a creature if you could not see them.
She fed each of the horses a carrot, patting their necks before moving onto the next one. Her hair billowed around her face, and in annoyance she pulled it back into a messy ponytail. She had become increasingly lonely as of late, for she had not seen hide nor hair of Vierdos for months. And, without Salina or Corinne, she was left with just Laurence, and he was still in the process of being brain washed.
A heavy sigh escaped the professor's lips, but she shook her head to rid herself of bad thoughts. For now, she must focus on the lesson ahead- which she would admit to herself was a pretty dull one. She just didn't have the spirit anymore, but she had tried her best to make it interesting.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Keiba was excited as she rushed down to her CoMC class. She couldn't wait to get to interact with the winged horses again. It would be fun, and this time she made sure that she'd left early, so as not to annoy Professor Girard again. That was one shameful day, she remembered.
As she reached the professor, she slowed down. Keiba was ecstatic to see she was the first of her classmates there. "Hello, Professor Girard! Aren't I good, coming early? I feel so proud being the first one here," Keiba grinned, breathless from her journey down from Ravenclaw tower.
That was before Keiba noticed that her Professor seemed really... different. There was that missing energy from her eyes, and she just didn't seem to give off the enthusiasm she had last year. Keiba internally scratched her head in confusion, before she realised that she'd seen that look on herself more than once in brief moments of her childhood. The Professor looked lonely. Keiba didn't ask, deciding it wasn't any of her business. She just hoped she could possibly take the Professor's mind off things and back into her work.
She smiled again, pretending she hadn't picked up on anything.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Salina had rather tiredly finished off her studying in the library, and returned each books she had used to their original places on the shelves. This task required a lot of bustling around and looking at the shelves, for she had used a lot of different books and been momentarily baffled as to where they were meant to go. After locating each place, she sat down at a table again and retrieved one of her French novels from home, opening the book and beginning to read.
It was several hours later that Salina awoke from her awkward position, head resting on the table, but when she looked at her watch she saw that she only had 10 minutes to get ready for CoMC. She grabbed the book and tucked it into her bag before running to the Ravenclaw common room. She raced up the tower stairs to the dorm and put away her book, grabbing her notebook and quill. She turned and rushed down to CoMC.
Once she had started her descent down the hill, she decided to check her watch and noticed that she was still a bit early. She slowed her pace from a hurried walk to a far more relaxed and easygoing one. She felt buds of excitement at the prospect of seeing her sœur, for she had sorely missed her. Finally, she had arrived at the bottom of the hill to see Keiba greet a sombre looking Jaqui. She offered a small smile to Keiba, before fixing Jaqui with a stern look. "Soyez courageux, grande sœur." She murmured, her thoughts briefly resting on Corinne before she turned to face Keiba. "'allo, I am Salina Girard, I believe zat you are Keiba, oui?"

Victoria was excited about taking CoMC this year. She hadn't really known what the class would be last year, so opted not to take it. But everyone in it seemed to love it, so she thought she'd give it a try this year.
As she made her way to class she was happy to finally be outdoors again. She preferred it to the stuffy, closed in feeling she got from some places in the castle. She had always been that little girl that would run around outside, getting dirty and scrapped up when she was young.
She saw only two other students had arrived so far, neither one that she knew very well. One had went to the end of the year ball with Humphrey, she remembered. The other was one of the sisters that her at Tess had found outside the corridor during the battle. She hadn't really talked to...Was it Salina?...since then. So when she got to the small group she gave her a small smile and said, "Hi."

Charlotte walked into the area where the Care of Magical Creatures lesson normally took place and saw the Winged Horses, presumably they had been examining them last lesson and she hadn't any memory of them, Charlotte had missed that lesson probably.
Sighing slightly she stopped when she got to a group of other students and smiled pleasantly at them, knowing them all just a little bit so it wasn't that awkward.
"Hello guys!" she said quietly, before looking once more at the horses.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Pxyis walked slowly down to Care of Magical Creatures, a frown on her face. She had a sinking feeling that they may be partnered with the people from last year, and it put a sour twist on what she had hoped would be a fun occasion. The winged horses stood tall and beautiful, and she couldn't help but smile as she regarded them. She saw that already a majority of the class had arrived.
Among the group, was Salina and Charlotte. Salina looked busy talking to the other Ravenclaw and the Gryffindor, so she approached Charlotte with a wide smile. She had missed Charlotte, a lot. "Hey Char. Sorry I didn't invite you over, I thought you might want some space after what happened." Pxyis apologised. She had felt guilty about not inviting Charlotte over, but she had thought that Charlotte was a bit shaken up after the events of the dance.

Airen walked to the CoMC lesson. He'd heard of the professor's sister being in a coma, and expected to have a somewhat gloomy lesson. He saw Charlotte, Keiba, and a few other girls chatting in a group. Deciding to let them have their girl time, he leaned on a tree and hummed a tune. It was a mysterious melody that he picked up from a muggle movie.
"Ciao (hello), Professor," he greeted kindly.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Leshia wanted to make sure she was not late to any classes this year so she high tailed it down to CoMC. When she got there she noticed the winged horses they had studied last term.
Getting to the yard she saw all of her friends including Salina. She didn't want to make a scene but she had not see Salina since she had gotten here so about tackled Salina over when she ran up behind her and hugged her.
"Oh my god, where have you been, how is Corrine, I missed you." Leshia basically threw all the sentences together she didn't think anyone could understand what she had said.
Calming herself down, "Oh hey guys."

She walked out of the castle and she smiled seeing that more and more people were getting ready for the class. She admitted that she did not take the class last year, but she was looking forward to it.
Seeing that it was a nice day, she did enjoy the outing towards the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Seeing Victoria, she saw her talking, so Tess simply stood beside her and nudged her signaling her being there.
Tess had noticed that Pxyis and Charlotte were on the other side and she smiled towards them, but she stuck by Victoria.

Parker slowly walked from the castle to class, not caring too much for time. He wondered what they would be doing and if there were new people, among many other sorts of things. He looked down from the hill as he approached and saw the horses. He couldn't help but smile a little. He wondered why they were going back to them, hadn't they already delt with them? Not that he wasn't glad, he certainly was. They were great creatures.
As he approached, he looked around, staying at the edge of where everyone else was as he walked over to a tree and sat down beside it, letting out a deep sigh. He realized how tired he felt. He couldn't even recall if he'd slept at all the previous night, being so worried, excited, and overwhelmed at coming back. He yawned.

Haley reached the rest of the class. At the train, she had isolated herself somewhat. She hadn't been in a good mood. It was rare that she was in a good mood these days. Not since what had happened in the summer.
She looked at the winged horses and smiled softly. The thought that she could now fly along with them was uplifting. She then saw Parker, Charlotte, Leisha, Salina, Pyxis, Keiba, Airen, Victoria and Tess standing there.
"Hey everyone," she said with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

Leshia was listening to all of her friends talking about their holiday when she saw Haley come up and join them.
"Hay Haley girl, whats up. Have a nice holiday?"

Haley smiled to Leisha, though it still wasn't her normal smile. She felt like her stomach fell to the ground. She didn't want to tell her. No here. She would, of course, but not right now.
"I've been all right. I managed to fully develop my animagus form, so if you should want to fly sometime, please let me know," she said with a grin, this one true.
"How about you?" Haley then asked.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Leshia really hated her holiday, other than making a new friend so she really did not know what to say.
"Well it was there, but I am glad to be home." Leshia said with sadness in her voice.
"Wow take me flying, if I liked to fly that would be cool." Leshia thought it was cool
"I wonder what I would be if I wanted to become one."

"Me too," Haley agreed. She knew that Hogwarts would be more her home now than what Caerphilly castle was.
She smiled. "Well, if you don't like flying, then I am not going to force you," she said with a grin.
"Well, mine became an eagle because they're my favorite animal. So what is your favorite animal?" Haley asked.

Leshia had to think about it.
"I have always had a fascination with cats, especially panthers.' Leshia thought about how cool it would be to turn into a panther she would be able to roam all over.
"Was it hard to learn to do it, and how would I learn it?"

"It is very difficult, yes, but if you put your back into it there isn't much you won't be able to do," Haley said calmly.
She then looked at Leisha. "It's a lot of work. You have to study books a lot, and you have to brew potions and you have to focus a lot on the animal you want to become and all. It doesn't require a wand except for the potion, of course. But once it's developed, you don't use magic other than turning yourself into an animal. You can do it, even with the trace on," Haley explained.

Keiba watched with interest as people started to trickle down to the pens. She heard someone talk to her and she turned around to smile at Salina, from her dorm. "Hello, Salina!" She said warmly, her smile crinkling about her eyes. She was feeling very genuine today. "Yes, I'm Keiba. How are you? I heard that your sister went into a coma recently. How is she doing?" she added, concerned.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Everyone seemed to be chatting along now. Victoria noticed it was all girls as of right now. She figured she shouldn't be surprised. Girls tended to care about other creatures naturally anyways. It would be a surprise to find a boy who did.
As the chatter was increasing, she saw that most of the students seemed to have seen the winged creatures before. Probably something from last year. She turned to Tess, hoping to get a recap.
"So what are these things? I wasn't in the class last year."

Zara finally made it to her CoMC class. She noticed a lot of familiar faces from her potions class. She also noticed her good friend, Keiba, chatting with another student.
She made her way over to Keiba. Without interrupting her little conversation, Zara just smiled and waved at Keiba as she stood next to her.

Charlotte turned when Pyxis came and began to talk to her, she was actually quite upset and a little angry at her for not inviting her over and giving her a date to come. She had been quite looking forward to that throughout the holiday and was dissappointed when it didn't happen.
"It's fine I guess. I was pretty busy anyway so...I might not have had time to come over even if you had asked me." Hoping that her hair didn't turn slightly red, Charlotte sucked at her lip piercing.
Smiling slightly Charlotte turned away and saw Airen standing over on his own, she felt bad and wanted to speak to him, but she didn't want to just leave.
"Oh Keiba! Thank you for the photo's I got them via owl, I haven't had a chance to finish the painting yet but I'll give it to you when it's done."

"That's great Char! I can't wait to see the finished product. You take all the time you need," Keiba encouraged. It was great to see she could give some inspiration to a classmate.
Seeing that Charlotte kept glancing over to her almost-boyfriend, Keiba grinned lopsidedly. "Go on, Charlotte. You know you want to!" She nudged the long-haired blonde in the direction of Airen, who was looking decidedly bored.

Charlotte blushed slightly, at the praise and at the fact that Keiba picked up on the fact that she had looked over at Airen, she ran a hand through her hair and couldnt help but giggle a little.
"Well...maybe I do, but, I want to talk to you guys too, hold on I'll go and be a cowgirl for a moment."
Winking Charlotte pretended to throw a lasso over to Airen and reel him into the group, she didn't like it when he was on his own like this, it often made her sad.
"I'll be right back."
Charlotte hurried over to Airen and hugged him, pecking his cheek;
"You okay? You're all on your own over here."

Jaqui smiled softly at Salina in response to her request to be strong. She nodded her head once, and waited for everyone else to arrive before she would start the lesson. A lot of her students had shown up, and seeing that none of the others looked to be coming anytime soon, she clapped her hands for their attention.
"Alright, students! As I told you last year, you will be studying ze Winged 'orse. For zis lesson, you will each take a turn in riding ze 'orse, and zen record 'ow zey move, and where you place your legs and 'ow to 'old your position. Off you go!" She shooed them away.
