Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Airen smiled at Charlotte as she came and pecked his cheek. He'd seen her pretend to lasso him over to her. He thought it was cute and funny.
"I'm fine. I just thought you'd want to catch up with your friends," he said gesturing to Haley and the others. He gave her a kiss on the cheek. "If you want me to come over, then I will," he added.
When the professor shooed them away to the winged horses, Airen held a hand out to Charlotte.
"Shall we, milady?" he asked in his Italian accent.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
She turned to Victoria and shrugged.
"I didn't take this class either, remember?" she murmured.
Seeing the Winged Horses, she got really excited. Her mother owned a winged horse and she loved riding it all the time. It had recently bored a Filly and this scene reminded her of home.
"Look Victoria, winged horses" she whispered.
Grabbing her friend's hand, she tugged her towards the horses in excitement. Letting go of Victoria's hand, she ran her fingers through the horse's mane and once it calmed down, she was ready to ride. Without coaxing, she placed her hands on the horse's torso and pulled herself up. She sat sideways because of her skirt but seeing that she was on, she was excited.
"Come on!" she said to Victoria excitedly.

Leshia walked over to her pen, she didn't mind riding a horse, but this thing flew and it made her a little nervous. She didn't want to fly.
"So how about you Salina, you want to go first?"

Hearing the instructions for what they were supposed to take notes on, Parker didn't stand up or walk over to the pens from his position at the trees. He recalled last year and the lesson last year when he rode them with Pxyis. He took out a parchment from his bag as well as a quill, taking notes on what he'd remembered form last year before he'd think of going over.
Actually. He could probably stay over where he was and just observe the others ride. After all, he had done it already. he started writing away, looking up every so often as the other students walked over to the winged horses.

Zara sighed in relief. "I was hoping class hadn't started. Thank goodness" she said.
As class started, Zara followed the rest of the class over to where the winged horses were.

Keiba grinned with excitement. She'd ridden normal horses in Australia, but never ones that flew. They were still just part of a fantasy... not anymore. She walked confidently up to the closest - a chestnut with a wavy mane - and introduced herself. "Hey there. I'm Keiba," she said, giving it a rub on the nose. It whickered at her and ruffled it's wings.
She held out her hand, showing it the back of it, letting it learn her smell. "Professor, what's this one's name?" she called.
Glancing over her shoulder, she saw Haley and Zara hanging back. She beckoned to them. "Come on, guys! He's - or she's, I'm not really sure which - it's really friendly!"

"I'm coming. Give me a break. I've been running around all day trying to find my classes" Zara said.
She caught up with Keiba. "Pretty cool" she said, also allowing the horse to smell her hand.

Keiba chuckled at her. "You sad person. You're a second year, you should know your way around by now. Tsk Tsk." She teased her dark-haired friend.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Victoria was a little taken aback by how big the horses were. She'd been to places to ride regular ones twice in her life, but didn't really know much about them. She was nervous she'd do something wrong.
"Go ahead, Tess. I'll take the next trip. That way you can give me pointers." She winked. Tess obviously knew what she was doing and Victoria could use whatever help she could get.
She grabbed out her notebook and quill and started to write down observations while Tess rode.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
She shrugged but understood, perhaps that it wasn't the right idea to share it. She gripped tight onto its reigns and whipped it allowing the horse to speed up. It felt great feeling the horse run so quick and graceful. Many times had she experienced this, but never this genus of the species. It was much sturdier and more muscular.
Soon it began to flap it's wings and it soared into the sky. She bit her bottom lip tight and clung on not frightened at all but trying to hold herself back from really allowing herself some freedom. Flying in general was an exciting experience for her and this was freedom.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Haley got onto one of the winged horses. She smiled as the ground was further away. Of course, she wasn't going to fly the horse, but professor Girard hadn't really said anything about it. So Haley trotted over to the professor, feeling very happy.
"Professor? Are we to record how it feels to fly them as well, or are we just going to find out how they move on the ground?" Haley asked with a smile.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Charlotte smiled happily and was glad that Airen was so considerate of her and of the face that she wanted to spend time with her girlfriends too, and she did, but she didn't like seeing anybody on their own.
"It's okay it looks like the lesson is beginning now anyway, I wasn't here for this lesson last time, im a little scared."
Moving over to one of the horses after taking Airen's hand Charlotte gulped and looked up at it, praying that it would not fly while she was on it, otherwise shed just faint. And fall off.
"They won't fly when I get on will they? It's just...I don't like...I don't like heights so if it did I couldn't handle it."
Charlotte sucked on her lip piercing and fretted slightly, her cat ears popping up she was that nervous.

LEshia looked around at everyone and at the winged creatures.
"I will be glad to leave the flying part to you, won't catch me in the sky."
Leshia just didn't like the thought of being way up in the air and she would leave that part to everyone else. As long as they stayed on the ground she would be fine.

"Well, you didn't miss much. The professor said no flying last time, so I don't we'll be doing it this lesson either," Airen replied. He gave her a firm hug before leading them to the horses.
"There's no need to be afraid. I'll be right here," Airen reassured her. He placed a kiss on her forehead. He took her over to the horse he'd ridden last time. Petting the horses neck, he looked at Charlotte, gently putting a hand on her shoulder.
"I think you should see what's it's like to ride them on the ground, first. Don't worry, I'll be right beside you the whole time," he suggested. Noticing her cat ears pop out, he wrapped his arm the rest of the way in a one-arm hug. He stroked her arm up and down slowly.
"Deep breaths, Charlotte. Deep breaths," he instructed her.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Charlotte gave Airen a strained smile when he hugged her, the fact that there was no instructions on how to handle the beasts when flying Charlotte was a little reassured although she couldn't be sure that the animals wouldn't take off anyway.
"O-okay. I hope that it won't take off when I get on it, it won't do that will it?" she asked slightly panicked and gripped Airen's robes.
Looking at the horse that Airen led her to Charlotte forgot about the wings and gentle stroked it too, it looked as if things were going to be okay, and she tried to take her mind off it.
"You don't have any winged horses at your Aunts house do you?" she asked quietly.
When Airen hugged her, Charlotte took deep breaths and tried to calm herself down just like he was trying to help her do, reaching up she took a deep breath and hoisted herself up onto the horse.
"Okay...okay I'm on it...I am on the horse...please don't fly off..."

Victoria watched as some other students got onto the horses. When Tess took off she looked like she was having so much fun that Victoria forgot all about her nerves. She quickly took notes on how they looked, trying to do this part as quick as possible so she could concentrate on the feel and the fun of flying when it was her turn.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Turning around, she kicked the horse's sides to ask it to bring her back down towards the forest. It seemed to protest a bit, but with a tug of the reign, it did as asked and swooped down. Her abdomen tightened in that nervous adrenaline rush she usually got. It was kind of like flying a broom.
As it hit the ground, it ran a bit trying to get it's footing and once it stopped, she hopped off petting him and tugged him towards Victoria.
"Your turn" she said smiling. "What notes did you get?" she asked.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Airen smiled gently down at Charlotte. He squeezed her once more. He thought that the winged horses behaved like their close muggle counterparts. He'd handled horses before, so these shouldn't be much different.
"They won't. Just don't startle them," he said. He took her hand softly.
He smiled at how she seemed to forget the wings, and focus on the horse. She seemed to relax slightly, but he could tell that she was still nervous.
"No, we don't, but my aunt did say that she'd try to get at least one while I was here," he said. Airen helped her get on the horse. As soon as she was on, he took the reigns and handed them to her. He kept a hand on the horse to let it know not to move yet.
"Hey, Charlotte, I'll be right here," Airen said, patting the horse's neck and indicating that he'd be by her side the whole time.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Keiba stroked the horse's face once more before declaring, "I'm gonna get on now. Is that okay with you Zara? And you, Mr Winged Horse?" The chestnut snorted in reply so Keiba swung herself over onto it's back. The horse decided to be cheeky and walk off while she was mounting, but it didn't scare her and she settled right into her seat. Using the long mane hair to direct him, she pulled him off and started doing serpentines. It had been a while since she'd ridden, but with her legs tucked neatly behind the wings, she felt very comfortable and it all came back to her. Soon she was doing rising trot steadily in a small pattern. She felt like she was riding a normal horse.
It wasn't long before the chestnut got bored of circles and decided to open his wings out and glide for a bit. As soon as they lost contact with the ground, Keiba fumbled, caught off guard, and latched her arms around his neck, falling forwards a bit. The horse nickered at her, like he was teasing, and flapped. They were only a few feet off the ground but to Keiba she felt like she was flying over the Alps. "Ah!" she squealed, praying for the horse to go back to Earth. Eventually he did, and she directed him over with wide eyes to where Zara was.
"Well," she gasped. "That was unexpected!" Dismounting, she was still a little breathless and the adrenaline coursed through her veins. "Your turn!"

Jaqui smiled at Haley. "Just record 'ow it feels to ride ze 'orse."
Jaqui looked up, startled as she realized many students were in the air. After she had told them not to be. Standing up, Jaqui whistled and each of the flying horses swooped back down to the ground and trotted over to Jaqui. With her arms folded over her chest, Jaqui huffed.
She was in a terrible mood. Her maman and papa were constantly angry, Laurence was frightened for he did not know where his sisters were, Corinne was in a coma and Salina was not longer apart of the Girard family. She did not need students flying around in the air after all of this.
"Keiba! Tess!" She all but screeched, her eyes blazing with anger. "I theenk zat some of you did not understand ze class! When did I say zat you could fly? Ze least you could do is ask me, like 'aley! I am most disappointed. Class dismissed."

"I'm sorry Professor. I didn't ask him to. He must've gotten bored!" Keiba pleaded. She was very serious, if she had done something she didn't know what, because she couldn't recall ever asking the Winged Horse to fly.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Parker had worriedly watched from where he sat when the others had been flying, it was dangerous. Riding on the ground had been enough of an adventure and was glad he'd just decided to watch this time. He looked back down finishing up his notes.
When the prof. has abruptly ended the class, Parker stood up, packing his things up, going to set off to the castle. He decided he wanted to take a walk instead though, having been cooped up most of the day already. He started to walk, not really having an idea in his mind of where he wanted to go.

Re: Lesson 1 - SECOND YEARS
Charlotte shook slightly when the Professor shouted at her and she all but jumped off the horse, landing smack on her knees as she did so. Now more than a little confused and quite upset she fiddled with her hair and wondered why she had even shown up for this class!
"Uhm...I don't understand what I did wrong Professor, I was just riding the horse like you told me to, and, it never once left the ground, so...why did you shout at me?"
She wasn't going to go until she got an answer and she felt her confusion develop into a sort of anger.
Surely the Professor should be keeping an eye on the class so that this didn't happen? And if she was screeching at them Because of some personal problem then that was low.
"Forgive me Professor, I'm going to see my Papa now, maybe he can explain what I did wrong."
With that Charlotte turned and walked away, not happy in the slightest and her Papa was about to find that out.

Jaqui shook her head, realising her anger was very sudden and un-called for. She should have been more clear with her instructions, and made sure that the Winged Horses were not restless beforehand.
"Zat is alright, Keiba. Please do not worry about eet, I am merely concerned for your safety."

Airen knelt by Charlotte. The sudden outburst threw him off, and he wasn't quite able to catch Charlotte. He laid a hand on her shoulder. He noticed that she was angry.
"I'm sorry that I wasn't able to catch you," he said quietly.
Airen kept his cool, even if he was slightly angry with the professor, too. Airen watched as Charlotte turned and walked away. He wanted to follow her, but he was still unsure of whether or not she wanted to be alone.
