Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor) Empty Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor)

Vikki opened the door to her office, she looked around, she didn't know that all of these things were hers, she would never have picked them and they looked just frightful.

Old Quidditch robes.
Brooms and fix up kits.
Moving photos of Quidditch teams.

It was very 'flying' and she wished to be rid of all of it so she slowly gathered up a box and looked inside it for a moment, wondering about how many nargles could fit inside, before shrugging and filling it up with photos.

"The wonderful thing about tiggers..." she hummed.

Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor) Empty Re: Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor)

The Doctor was very concerned for Vikki, she had had an accident but now she was back to active duty. The only problem was that she seemed to be missing most of her memories. He tried to put it out of his mind for now. After all, it was as simple as reminding her... wasn't it?

Watching from the doorway as she began to purge her office of all things flying, The Doctor cottoned on to what song she was singing,

"... is I'm the only one." he finished the line of the song for her with a small smile, "Good song isn't it? Very... bouncy."

Vikki turned at the sound of the voice and jumped, knocking over the box of things that she was putting away, not being able to save herself from stumbling a little she stood up with a light blush on her cheeks.

It was so embarrassing because she had never met this man before! And already she was acting out of her wits! What kind of an impression would that make on the man?

"Oh forgive me sir I didn't realise that this wasn't my office, who are you anyway?"

Scratching the back of her head Viktoria hoped that there was something that this man wanted, otherwise she would feel terribly awkward, and immediately her attention was captured by a caterpillar outside the window.

"Ha, how curious."

When she was so startled by his sudden intrusion, The Doctor used his wand to catch the box she'd dislodged with a levitation charm before setting it onto her desk with a small smile at her blush and uncertain behavior. She certainly seemed a bit jumpy. He raised an eyebrow at her,

"This is your office though. The door has your name on it after all." he told her with a small smile, "I was just coming to check up on you after your accident... are you alright?"

The Doctor followed her gaze to a caterpillar outside the window and opened the window before picking it up gently and placing it delicately on the back of his hand,

"He's a rather lovely caterpiller isn't he?" he grinned faintly, "Lovely shade of blue..."

When the man said that it was her office Because it had her name on it, Vikki looked thoughtful for a moment before nodded her head with a vague dreamy sort of look on her face.

"I suppose it is my name, if I am who the door says I am then I must be me, but, who am I anyway? Who is anyone?"

Looking at the floor, Vikki snapped her head up and focused in on the man in front of her again, frowning lightly and wondering something, he hadn't told her who he was.

"Who are you?"

Confused as to why he was asking her if she was okay, Vikki watched him play with the caterpillar and smiled lightly, poking the caterpillar herself with her small finger.

"I'm as good as I'm going to be, and yourself?"

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Fri Feb 24, 2012 4:34 am

The vague sort of nod and the dreamy look on Viktoria's face were not very reassuring for The Doctor that she was alright. After all, who doesn't really react to their own name? He smiled faintly,

"Yes it is your name... but I'm not sure if that's who you are at the moment." he tilted his head to the side a little bit, "You are Vikki but at the same time you seem... hardly Vikki."

Raising an eyebrow at her quick movement, The Doctor was now getting a little bit upset. No one had told him about memory loss but right now she didn't know who she was and she didn't know who he was. That was not good at all,

"Me?" he chuckled a little bit, "Well I'm The Doctor. Nice to meet you again."

The Doctor pouted a little bit when Vikki poked the little caterpiller and stroked it lightly with a finger, as if nursing it back to full health,

"Aww don't poke Absalom... he's cool!" he smiled a little bit, "I'll be a lot better sooner or later. At the moment though I'm good. You got any questions?"

Vikki tilted her head to one side and looked at the man in front of her and frowned, this man hardly made any sense, and she thought about what he had said, and she thought what a strange man he actually was.

"How can I be hardly Vikki? If my name is Vikki then I am Vikki. Maybe I am not the Vikki that you want me to be, and for that I am sorry but I am who I am now."

Raising her eyebrows at the fact this man had said that he was the Doctor, she scratched behind her Rae a little and frowned slightly, taking another slow look around:

"Are we in a hospital? Is that why you're a Doctor? Are you here to examine me like the others? Don't you have a proper name?"

Vikki poked the caterpillar again then got suitibly bored, going back to putting things in boxes: "Why will you be better sooner or later? What's wrong now that will be fixed? And would you like it fixed sooner or later?"

Stopping her mad sort of grin, Vikki fell quiet and stared at the fireplace: "Yes, so many questions, all of which are unanswerable."

The way she looked right now made The Doctor want to pinch her cheeks right now and declare that she was cute. It was probably a bad idea though so he ignored it for now and merely smiled at her,

"Ah you're hardly Vikki because you are Vikki but you're not hardly THAT Vikki." he clarified before shrugging a little bit, "Perhaps, in time, you will be that Vikki again."

Looking around the room at the same time that Vikki did, The Doctor chuckled a little bit at her question even though the thought of Vikki being in any kind of hospital made him uncomfortable and saddened,

"No we're in a school where you are a teacher. The Doctor is just my title but I prefer it to my name." he told her patiently, "If you want to know... My name is Florence Nettle."

Stroking the caterpiller rather idly, The Doctor took a seat behind Vikki's desk as she went back to moving her stuff around and rearranging the whole office,

"A very dear friend of mine is lost." he replied truthfully, sad as he spoke, "She'll be back though. Or maybe... maybe she's not lost, just hiding."

He chuckled a little bit,

"Everyone thinks a question is unanswerable... until they receive the answer. So come on... ask me a question."

Vikki sighed softly and turned around from the box and looked at the man, the Doctor in front of her, she wasn't stupid she knew who he was speaking of and it made her so desperately sad.

Sitting suddenly on the floor, Vikki stared at her feet, they were covered by red dolly shoes that poked out from under her frilly blue dress that reached her knees, it was a dark blue that she loved.

"Why must I change to be the Vikki that I was? Why can't you be happy with the Vikki that I am now? Are you so fixated on her you would have what I have become smothered."

Threatening to cry, Vikki stood up and moved out of the room into her private chambers, her ringlets quivering as she forcefully packed boxes, shoving the items deep inside.

"Or maybe she wont and you'll just have to deal with stupid me instead? Why can you not just...forget...I am Vikki! That is who I am!"

Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor) Empty Re: Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor)

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Fri Feb 24, 2012 6:01 am

The Doctor knew he really shouldn't be talking about this Vikki as if she was surpressing or keeping him from the Vikki he'd known before the accident but he couldn't help but press a little. He had really grown to care for, to love, the first Vikki. Of course he knew that he was still in love with her even now she had changed. He just didn't know if this Vikki cared about him at all. When she suddenly sat on the floor he was rather shocked,

"I... I'm sorry..." he whispered quietly, "I just... I want you to be happy Vikki. Whichever Vikki you end up being. I'm sorry for pressuring you."

The Doctor followed her into her private chambers and watched as she began to fill boxes furiously. Coming to a decision, The Doctor walked forwards before hugging Viktoria tightly,

"Do you want me to try to forget the other Vikki?" he asked quietly, squeezing her lightly in the hug, "I'll try Vikki... for you I'll try."

Vikki looked at The Doctor and scowled lightly she did not appreciate her emotions being toyed with at all and that is certainly what this man was doing. Making her all confused like this, it made her almost want to cry or scream out.

"You're not sorry, you're still upset Because I'm not me. Well I am me, this is who I am and it's not my fault. I'm not going to be happy as long as people expect me to be somebody or something im not."

Gasping lightly as she was hugged Vikki stood there a little awkwardly in the hug, after all she didn't know this man really, even her old self hadn't known that much, or that she could sense.

"I want you to stop comparing me, there is no other Vikki, I am the only Vikki here, we aren't seperate entities. I am just changed. Aren't you supposed to be smart since you're the highmaster? Shouldn't you know this?" the last questions changed tone, from slightly annoyed to dreamy and far off.

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Sat Feb 25, 2012 6:18 am

The Doctor nodded again, knowing that she didn't appreciate it at all now and deciding that he wouldn't do it anymore. After all, he wanted her to be comfortable no matter who she was,

"I suppose I am a little bit upset... I'm sorry for being upset." he nodded, "Believe it or not I understand, partly, what it's like to be expected to be something and then turn out not to be like that and have people judge you."

Seeing that the hug had become awkward for Vikki, he stepped away, his eyes downcast. When she spoke he smiled faintly,

"That's how I'll see it from now on. You changed. People do that with time... I should have known that. I know enough about time after all..." he fingered the TARDIS lightly before whispering, "I should have known but... people do foolish things when they are..."

He paused. He didn't want to burden her with something that she might not feel anymore. The Doctor merely smiled and took out the TARDIS to show it to her,

"I want to show you this." he gave it to her, knowing it didn't activate unless he wanted it to, "That's the TARDIS."

Vikki merely switched off for a moment, walking away from the Doctor and towards the window, unlatching it and looking down at the mild drop to the bottom of her office, it was about a six foot drop, and she sat down with her back out of the open window.

"Most curious, why if you know how it feels would you then do it yourself? I'm supposing it wasn't a nice feeling when it happened to you?" she asked in a chirpy tone.

Seeing that the Doctor was suitably sad, Vikki tilted her head to one side and rummaged through her boxes, pulling out a chipped tea cup and handed it to him with a smile. By way of apology.

"When they are out of their wits? I am often out of my wits, so I often do foolish things...sometimes..." she trailed off, turning to look out of the window.

Vikki took the curious device and spun it idly around and around, raising it up to the light and tapping it with her nail; "Curiouser and curiouser..."

Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor) Empty Re: Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor)

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Sat Feb 25, 2012 6:52 am

The Doctor was a little bit unsettled when Vikki moved over to the window and peered out of it once she'd opened it. It wasn't much of a drop but it was still enough to be a nasty spill. He smiled though when she merely leant against the window,

"Oh I don't know." he replied with a little happy shrug, "Maybe people are just built that way and it takes a few moments to get out of it? I don't know."

Taking the chipped tea cup, The Doctor turned it around in his hand, looking at every part of it before grinning suddenly,

"I know it's very british... but can we have some tea?" he asked, happy at the prospect of drinking tea again. The Doctor chuckled a little bit, "My condition has very well been called witless by some. Not the nicest those people..."

Watching her play with the TARDIS, The Doctor spun the tea cup in his hands with a smirk,

"Do you want to know what it does?" he tilted his head to the side, "Or do you want to know it's favourite day of the weak?"

Vikki could tell that the Doctor was now trying to be happy and she was a little bit confused about it but decided to let it go, after all, he was happy and that was good, wasn't it?

Wondering about why she would care if he was happy or not Vikki soon became distracted again.

"A few moments to snap out of it...I see...how...curious." she said quietly, pausing quite a lot as if thinking about each individual line that she was going to say.

When the Doctor asked if they could have tea Vikki grinned happily and hopped down from the window ledge, getting a kettle out, tapping it and filling it with water.

"I love tea, it's delicious. Why are they not nice? It can be a compliment you know."

Vikki handed it back to him, a flash of recognition flooding through her mind, she remembered this odd little thing and what it did, "I remember what it does, but, favourite day of the week?"

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:14 am

The Doctor had decided, on a rather spurr of the moment whim, that he shouldn't judge Vikki because she'd changed. After all, there was nothing wrong with change. Everyone changed, Vikki had just changed more radically than anyone else he'd been around recently,

"I suppose it is curious..." he admitted as he thought about what he'd said, "Rather intriging actually... perhaps I can have Konig work on the question."

Seeing her grin happily at the mention of having tea, The Doctor smiled back with genuine happiness. It was always a pleasure to see Vikki grin like that. He leant against a wall as they waited for their tea to be ready,

"It is a delicious drink..." he admitted with a little grin, "I don't think it was meant as one I'm afraid Vikki..."

The Doctor grinned when she told him that she remembered what the TARDIS did. It was a start after all. He chuckled a little bit,

"It tries to steer me sometimes." he told her with a grin, "Not by much... just to the nearest Tuesday. Not sure why it likes Tuesday the best..."

Vikki tilted her head to one side and she wondered just who this 'Konig' person was, she supposed that he was a professor that she didn't know just yet, perhaps he was nice? Maybe she should go and see him and ask him to join the tea party she was having.

"I think that it might be an idea. Assuming Konig knows more about it than us? Does he know more about it than us? I don't really know...I've never met him. Is he nice?"

Humming to herself Vikki just waited for the tea to brew properly, she knew that it was going to be a good day for her as long as tea was involved, she loved tea...

"What tea is it? Do you know, you're supposed to leave tea to brew for fifteen minutes? That's a bit silly isn't it? It'll be cold by then!" she grinned.

Vikki nodded and made a small thinking noise: "I like Thursdays best...what do you like?"

Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor) Empty Re: Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor)

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:28 am

When she tilted her head to the side, The Doctor realised that she probably had no idea who Konig actually was. He made a mental note to re-introduce them. It would be better to talk about the man if he was there. He shrugged a little bit,

"I suppose he should do. He is supposed to be an expert on the human mind after all." He smiled a little bit, "Konig... well Konig is a bit cold but he's a nice guy overall I think."

Seeing Vikki so happy, just at the very prospect of a tea party made The Doctor happy. He chuckled a little bit as he smiled, sitting down at her desk,

"What tea is it... Earl Grey? Fifteen minutes? That's just silly..." he chuckled and nodded in agreement, "Sounds most silly if you ask me. Best to drink it as soon as it's made."

Tilting his head to the side, The Doctor thought about what day of the week he liked best,

"Well the TARDIS pushes me to go to Tuesdays but I always push to go to Wednesdays so I guess Wednesday is my favourite day."

Post by Viktoria Steinburg Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:36 am

Vikki raised her eyebrows in a surprised manner and she wondered just what this man was like, she imagined him as being made of ice and walking around the school melting if he got too hot or a student held a hairdryer to him for too long.

"You mean that he is cool? Maybe you should give him a blanket? Maybe a heater? Is his office in the dungeon or something?" she asked curiously.

Watching the Doctor smile now made Vikki a lot happier, she didn't rightly know why but she figured that it was because they must have been friends before she got in the accident.

"Silly Muggle scientists...you drink tea when it's nice and warm but not too hot, otherwise you get a sore mouth and who wants that?" she smiled.

Nodding Vikki smiled: "I like Earl Grey."

Vikki grinned and said: "I don't mind Wednesday's..."

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Wed Mar 14, 2012 4:43 am

Seeing her confused expression, The Doctor couldn't help but chuckle when she gave her picture of Konig. If he was honest the man did try to act as if he was made out of ice a lot of the time. He shook his head a little bit,

"Not cold like actually cold... although his office is in the dungeon." he chuckled a little bit at himself, "He's just not very good at showing his emotions is all."

The Doctor smiled brightly at Vikki, still loving being in her company. It had always been fun to be with Vikki but now she was different... but it hadn't changed it at all. It was still great to be around her,

"Yeah muggle scientists try but sometimes they forget common sense, bless them." he agreed with a grin, "I'll take my tea hot but I'll wait just long enough to still be able to taste it."

The Doctor grinned and held up his empty tea cup in a toast,

"Horray!" he declared, "Horray for Earl Grey tea! Horray for Wednesday! Horray hurrah for Earl Grey tea on Wednesdays!"

Vikki was even more confused when The Doctor said that he wasn't good at showing his emotions, after all someone who studied the mind would surely know a little something about showing emotions although that might have been a big assumption.

"Do you think he just doesn't know how to or that he doesn't want to? It would be very odd not to want to show emotions...they're important to being a person."

Seeing that the tea was ready Vikki poured herself a cup and conjoured up a slice of lemon to go on the cup, it was just how it was done.

"Here's to us two, and to the lovely tea that we will drink!"

Vikki sipped her tea and looked up at the Doctor with an expression on her face that was cautious, as if she wanted to say something but she was nervous to.

The fact that she was even more confused now probably would have made The Doctor more likely to help her out if it wasn't for the fact that her confused face was so cute. He smiled a little bit,

"He knows how to, he just tries not to." he told her with a small frown, "I suppose that makes him rather odd as a person but he's not a bad guy."

The Doctor smiled happily when he saw that the tea was ready. He was actually rather thristy now that the subject of tea had been spoken about. He raised an eyebrow at the lemon but didn't comment,

"Here here!" he agreed before cautiously sipping his tea and sighing contentedly, "Mmm I love that taste..."

He watched her as she looked at him cautiously and smiled reassuringly,

"Anything you want to talk about?"

Vikki thought that this man was very odd and as a result she would rather like to meet him, she loved people who were different now, they could hold a good conversation together.

Absentmindedly she wondered about something.

"Do you suppose that he would like to join us for tea? Or would he not like that and rather stay on his own?"

When the Doctor drank his tea and claimed that he loved it, Vikki couldn't help but smile happily, she was glad that they both had something to talk about even if it was simply tea.

"Nothing beats tea...except fairy cakes...which leads me on to what I was going to say, would it be awful of me to host a tea party at the school? I am so eager you see and I would like to make everyones acquaintance."

Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor) Empty Re: Unfamiliar Grounds (Vikki and the Doctor)

Post by Doctor Florence Nettle Wed Mar 14, 2012 6:13 am

The Doctor paused for thought at her question. If he was honest he didn't really know if he would like to join them for tea or not. To be fair he hadn't really spent a lot of time with the man. He'd spent some time with his brother, Viktor, but the two of them seemed to be very different nowadays,

"Mmm well we can ask him if he'd like to join us next time." he agreed with a small grin, "He might enjoy getting some time with friends."

Sipping his tea, The Doctor noticed that his positive reaction to the tea seemed to make Vikki happy on its own. Tea was one of his forbidden pleasures too,

"Mmm only really nice fairy cakes though." he replied with a smirk, "I don't think it would be a bad idea at all! You can invite members of staff and students if you'd like."

Vikki saw that the Doctor hesistated a little bit before he said that he might like to come, which probably meant that he wouldn't like to come at all and that he was just saying that in order to make her feel better about the situation.

With a small sigh Vikki drank some more of her tea and gladly thought about what would happen if the man would come and join them.

"I think that he must be very lonely, if he doesn't come out to have tea with his friends, but, I suppose that not everybody likes tea, some people like coffee, I do hope he is not a coffee drinker for they have the most foul breath if you get too close once they have drunk it."

When he said that she could have the tea party, Vikki squeaked happily and almost dropped her tea cup.

"Oh yay! That will be the best thing ever, perhaps I should even do it when the children come back to school? Would that be good? It gives us plenty of time to prepare it."
