The First Lesson: Potions Empty The First Lesson: Potions

Michael sighed as he walked into the classroom from his office, his hair still wet and him brushing his teeth. It was a wild night last night, he and while he took his hangover potion, he still woke up late. He sighed, writing "Professor McBride, Partners Will Be Assigned, Stand in the back of the class" on the blackboard before walking back into his office to rinse out his mouth, then grab his cup of coffee. He grabbed his mug, and took a sip, sighing at the taste. It wasn't as bad as the coffee back when he was an Officer, but it wasn't that good either. He heard students coming in and, hopefully, they would follow directions.

He walked out of his office, coffee in hand, and smiled at the other students. "Welcome to the first lesson in Potions. I'm Professor McBride. You can all take seats at the cauldrons you wish to sit at, with whoever you wish to sit next to for today. If I see working relationships that won't interfere with the work that'll happen the rest of the year, then you'll stay in that partnership. If nothing is productive, then I'll move you." Michael sighed before writing on the blackboard.

"What I want you to do today," Michael said, moving away from the blackboard. "Is to try to brew your own potions. The Ingredients Cupboard is open to you, but if I see any potions that could very well be deadly, then I'll stop you. Ready? Begin." Michael sat behind his desk, sipping his coffee. He put a clipboard on the front of his desk.

"And don't forget to sign in."

The First Lesson: Potions Empty Re: The First Lesson: Potions

Charlotte walked into potions and saw a sign that said that partners would be assigned to them, she hoped that she would get to be with someone that she liked and that they would be able to work well together, and she would have liked to work with Air but she didn't know if he was taking this class or not.

Standing at the back of the room she saw the professor enter and she smiled, he then told her that she could sit wherever she wanted and Charlotte frowned a little bit, so, the whole standing around thing was pretty pointless then?

Sighing she walked over to a cauldron not too far from the front and let her things settle around her seat, taking out her book she raised her eyebrows, brewing their own potion? She frowned again, wasn't he supposed to be teaching us...?

Charlotte decided to wait for her partner to come and got up to sign in with her name, sitting back down she sighed and leafed through her potions book.

The First Lesson: Potions Empty Re: The First Lesson: Potions

Michael smiled as his first student - and one of his apprentices no less - came in. "Morning, Charlotte." He said, taking a sip of his coffee. He read her like a book, her disappointment, her confusion, etcetera. He wasn't a Detective for nothing. "I know it seems like I'm disorganized right now, Charlotte, but trust me: There's a method to my madness, even if it doesn't seem like it." Michael sipped at his coffee again, then pulled out a manilla folder and floated it to her.

"And get your rest for tonight. You get to experience the first bit of your apprenticeship in Copenhagen, Denmark. Fun times to be had." Magical Copenhagen was like Victorian London, though the food was... a bit better than East End London. "Now, Polyjuice Potion. Why is that?" Michael asked. It was in her application, and it seemed like a fair question.

The First Lesson: Potions Empty Re: The First Lesson: Potions

Charlotte smiled slightly, it was nice to knwo that the Professor didn't disprove of her thoughts because in a way they were true and she watched as he settled down to speak to her, she would be doing her first work as an apprentice tonight? In Copenhagen?

"Okay sir, I shall be rested and ready for when you want me to meet you."

Nodding her head Charlotte flushed a little bit, but because she was the only person in the class she answered him without much hesitation there was a truth to her answer of course.

"I want to be able to make the polyjuice potion in order to figure out what it is that causes people to change, then, maybe it could be possible to find out more about the reasons why I myself can transform, besides that, I just think it's a complicated yet useful potion that would be challenging to brew."

Airen entered the Potions classroom. He was curious as to what they'd be learning about. He saw Charlotte sitting relatively closer to the front, so he walked over and slid into the seat next to her. He smiled in greeting.

"Good morning, Professor," he greeted. He whipped out his note taking material.

"Hey, Charlotte," he said.

Valentina hurried into the lesson, she knew that she might be slightly late but when she got there and the rest of the class was still absent she smiled and sat down at her desk, leaving her things there before she got up to sign in on the register.

Moving back to her seat she smiled at the two people who had shared the Care of Magical Creatures lesson with her, and sat just beside them.
